I'm not exactly sure when I fell in love with books. Probably on my mother's knee listening to her read Dr. Seuss to me. I do remember that I was barely old enough to cross the street by myself when I discovered the delights of the local library. Could anything be more wonderful than spending summer days surrounded by stacks of Nancy Drew mysteries? Over the years I fell in love with Victoria Holt, Jane Austen, Agatha Christie, and J.R.R. Tolkien just to name a few. I read poetry, essays, biographies, and plays. In fact, I read anything I could get my hands on.

Years later (no, I'm not admitting how many) I'm still an avid reader, and my tastes are still as varied as they were in my youth, which I suppose helps to explain why I enjoy writing regency historicals under the name of Deborah Raleigh, as well as my contemporary paranormals as Alexandra Ivy. For now that is enough to keep me busy, but who knows what the future might hold!

I do have a few other loves in my life besides reading and writing, the most important being my unbelievably patient husband, David, and my two sons, Chance and Alexander. Without their constant support and belief in me, I never could have been able to follow my dreams. They are truly my heroes.

Bewitch the Darkness is book 18 in the Guardians of Eternity Series and although I had continued issues with all the different stories happening I found this one very enjoyable. Locke has been living in solitude for centuries waiting patiently to avenge the death of his mate. Unfortunately when the opportunity finally occurs he is shocked to learn that she still lives and that he was bewitched. Kyi's mother has been trying to kill her since she was born so she stays hidden planning to kill her mother instead. What Kyi doesn't expect is to be found by the vampire who prevented her from killing her mother centuries before. I loved Kyi and Locke together, I felt a strong connections between the two that has been lacking in the last couple of books. As I stated above I'm still not a fan of the different stories that Ms. Ivy continues to included in her books but I did love that Inga may finally have found her place with the Mermaids. Overall Bewitch the Darkness was a really enjoyable addition to the series.

Kyi has been in hiding for a very long time. But she needs to go after her mother, Xuria and stop her because she'll never be safe until she does.

Locke is still grieving the death of his mate and has been waiting to get justice for her and revenge on the one who killed her. But things don't go as planned.

Locke thought his mate had been killed but when he's informed that it was all a trick of magic that Kyi's mother had done to him, he's skeptical at first and then comes to believe her more and more. He had locked himself away, waiting for the day that he was alerted that the killer was close once again. But what he finds is Kyi and she convinces him that her mother used magic to trick him into thinking what she wanted him to think.

Kyi has a twin sister, Cleo but they aren't close. Kyi is a kind, sweet woman while Cleo seems to be the exact opposite. Cleo doesn't even trust her own sister but wants to get revenge and kill their mother, Xuria for killing their father and trying to kill them when they were just kids.

There's actually three simultaneous storylines going on in this book. Inga and Levet are on a quest, Locke and kyi are trying to find Xuria so they can kill her and Troy and Cleo are also also trying to find Xuria to kill her.

Xuria uses magic to keep herself immortal and uses other beings as slaves, using their life energy to fuel the magic she uses to keep herself immortal. She's not a nice person and now several people are after her to kill her which makes her even more dangerous.

Cleo wants her mother dead but she let's her plan be known that she wants the crystal that her mother uses for her own use after she kills her. Troy is only there because he was tricked into owing Cleo and he can't get out of it until he pays the favor back but he knows she's not out for good reasons.

Having all of these storylines going on at the same time made sense in a way but it also detracted from the main couple's romance which I didn't like. Locke and Kyi seemed to fall for each other too fast while they were trying to catch up to Xuria. I like this series but this wasn't my favorite book. I did like the ending though because Inga deserved to finally have something good happen in her life.

Disclosure: I was given an e-ARC of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I never get tired of this series even after all this time.
Locke is a vampire set on revenge. Kyi has been searching for her mother who is evil to the core. She needs to stop her from becoming immortal.

Levit and Inga are on an adventure of there own to rescue her subjects who have been enslaved.

“That is a handy-dandy fork,” he congratulated his companion. “You are like the Pee-pee Piper leading your people to safety.” “Pied Piper,” she corrected,

Troy is on a quest of his own so there are three stories that all come together in the end.

“Troy is in my head.” Closing his eyes, Levet concentrated on his connection to the imp. “Get out, you aggravating pest.” “Shut up and listen, gargoyle,” Troy growled. “Jerky jerk-face,” Levet muttered.

Levit, Inga and Troy are my favorite characters and I can’t get enough of them.

“Levet, not even you can deny that I’m usually big and ugly and awkward.” She waved her hands down her graceful body. “Look at me now.” “Fah.” His voice was uncharacteristically harsh. “You cannot judge a book by its quilt.” “Cover,” she absently corrected.

Keep em coming!!

3.75 stars--BEWITCH THE DARKNESS is the eighteenth instalment in Alexandra Ivy’s adult GUARDIANS OF ETERNITY paranormal, romance series. This is vampire Locke, and nymph Kyi’s story line. BEWITCH THE DARKNESS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from several third person perspectives including Kyi and Locke, BEWITCH THE DARKNESS follows several pathways including Locke’s search for the person he believed killed his mate Xuria (100 years earlier) but what Locke discovers is that the woman he thought was his mate is actually a power hungry female h*ll bent on living for eternity, an eternity that can only be achieved by the death of others. Coming face to face with Kyi, one of Xuria’s daughter, Locke quickly discovers that Xuria is not who or what she proclaims to be, and her ever changing physical appearance is but one clue into the power Xuria’s intends to control.

Meanwhile our intrepid gargoyle Levet, along with Inga, the Queen of the mer-folk must go in search of Prince Troy who has been summoned by Kyi’s sister Cleo, a summons that Troy must obey. As Cleo goes in search of her mother, Troy discovers the Cleo’s intent, and the horror of what has been happening and why.

The relationship between Kyi and Locke is an enemies to lovers such that Locke is mistaken about Kyi’s identity and intent. Believing Kyi is the creature that killed his fated mate, Locke and Kyi must work together to stop Xuria, but stopping Xuria is a lot harder than any expected. The $ex scenes are limited but intimate.

BEWITCH THE DARKNESS is a busy story with several intersecting plot lines that sees another vampire find his happily ever after. The premise is entertaining and energetic; the characters are colorful and dynamic- as always there is chaos and fun wherever Levet goes; the romance is fated and seductive.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Bewitch the darkness is the 25th volume in the Guardians of eternity series by Alexandra Ivy. There are 18 long novels and 7 novellas – and yes, I included all of them in the number.
Since I discovered this series in 2009, I have been a huge fan of this paranormal world and I can say after reading Bewitch the darkness that I am still a huge fan. There’s no doubt that Alexandra Ivy succeded in renewing the series and I never get tired of it.
This book can definitely be read as a standalone because when we close it, the suspense is entirely resolved, and there isn’t any new arc.

There are 3 parts in Bewitch the darkness.

First, we have the part about Locke and Kyi, our official heroes. Because I want to keep the suspense, I will just say that their link is special, and is revealed in the first chapters. For that matter, at the beginning of the book I didn’t understand how Alexandra Ivy would manage to make me believe in a love story between Locke and Kyi. Of course, I should have trusted the author : she did it very well.

Then we have the part about Inga, the Queen of the Mer-folk, and Levet, our favorite mini gargoyle. I was so sad for Inga and I hope in the next volumes – if Alexandra write other books – she grows in self-confidence and will impose herself at last. In any case, she’s a warrior who finds it difficult to take her rôle as a queen who shouldn’t endanger herself.

And we have the part about Troy, Prince of Imps who owes a favor to Cleo, a secondary character who appears in Darkness betrayed (review here : https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ). These two must stay together for their own adventure.

These three parts are linked and we learn about the connection as we read the book. I can’t say more because readers should discover all the ins and outs by reading the book.
As always, the book is filled with action, humour, and with references to my favorite movies and actors (Long life to Schwarzy LOL), and I won’t forget the most important thing : a beautiful love story.

To conclude, I loved Bewitch the darkness. Alexandra’s paranormal world still has a lot of surprises in store and if the author writes a sequel, I will be there.

Series: Guardians of Eternity #18
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

Locke has been waiting centuries to avenge the death of his mate’s death. What he doesn’t expect is to find that the woman he finds is beautiful, and she reveals the truth about Xuria that he never expects.

I enjoyed Locke and Kyi’s story. They started off as enemies but their attraction quickly changed everything. Locke was a very aloof vampire at first but he does open up to Kyi eventually. His past was very sad and makes his reasons for being so standoffish with the world to be understandable. Kyi also had a tragic history with her mother being an evil sorceress. I felt sorry for her because she has had to isolate herself to protect others. These two had a lot of chemistry and were a great couple.

Part of this book was also told from Levet, Inga, and Trey’s perspectives on their hunt for Xuria. I enjoyed seeing a different perspective but it also took away from Locke and Kyi relationship, which some people will not enjoy. I personally liked this different perspective because it gives us more of what is going on with the different parts of this vast world. I really hope we get a whole book about Olga soon because she has a beautiful heart and I really want to see her happy, especially after this book.

Overall, this was a great addition to the series. This is a fascinating world filled with a wide variety of creatures and I can’t wait to see what is going to happen next.

I absolutely look forward to every book in this series and for this reader the recent ones have been such fun to read. I know this is paranormal romance so we expect to find the focus of the story to be about Locke and Kyi but I relished the accompanying storylines featuring characters who I feel really do deserve the time that they are given here.
Poor Locke is convinced that he has finally caught up with his Mates killer only to discover that Kyi not only hasn't murdered his Mate but that it was actually her mother who had bewitched him into believing that he had found a Mate ! I guess this couple will need to work a few things out if they are to ever catch up with Xuria and stop her taking any more innocent lives . Luckily others are getting entangled with Kyi's family too but that might not always be a guaranteed happy ending because one of them is a rather accident prone Gargoyle named Levet !
For me this was a fun read that started with my favourite grumpy Vampire Styxx and then added more than a dash of loveable Levet. Although finally yes finally the author decided to give Troy the Imp Prince an almost leading roll which pleased me no end. As much as I do enjoy a steamy romance I am increasingly interested in this world and its often dysfunctional characters. I truly had a ball reading this and yes Locke finally stopped being a lonely Vampire and did actually find his true Mate . Obviously nothing was exactly easy but then again if its worth having then the fight is most assuredly worth it !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Ivy once again delivers a story that weaves action, romance & humor into an enjoyable read that will keep you turning the page. Although this is #18 in the series, it doesn't feel stale and would work as a stand alone. There are several plot lines interwoven through the story that are wrapped up in a satisfying end and carried out by characters (primary & secondary) that are well rounded and interesting.

Good, but I felt the secondary storylines were less interesting I didn't care for the back and forth. It detracted from Locke and Kyi's story. I would have liked their romance to be more fleshed out with less time spent on the other storylines.

This is the 18th book in the Guardians of Eternity series and although it is so far into the series, you can absolutely read this book as a standalone. I do recommend the previous books though just because they are great reads as well!

In this one we get the Vampire Locke's story. Locke has been waiting for over a century to avenge his mate's (Xuria) death. He wasn't expecting it to be her daughter though when he finally comes across the person he believes to be responsible. Kyi has been waiting for her mother to leave her secret realm for a very long time. Nothing else could make Kyi leave her woodland except to stop her evil mother's plans. She almost succeeded in ridding the world of her before until a vampire stopped her. But now Kyi is determined to take care of her for once and for all. Despite having a vampire trying to stop her. Until he realizes that her story about her mother is the truth. And then he begins to believe that maybe she is his true mate. But now they have to not only defeat her mother but also her sister, who has her own plans in play.

I really enjoyed this one! It starts off right from the start with a story that dragged me in and made me want to keep reading. I always love this author's vampire books and this one was no different. Locke went through what is a vampires worst fear-or so he thought. But once he realizes exactly what happened, he does what they do so well-get revenge! Kyi isn't out for payback per se. She is out to stop the true evil that she knows her mother to be. She just doesn't realize the true extent of everything that happened in the past. The chemistry between these two is hot! So not only do you get a great story but you also get a great romance with some sexy times in there too! I definitely enjoyed this one!

Vampire Locke has been waiting for years to find the nymph who killed his mate. The nymph he finds isn't what he thought she was, though. Together they set off in search of the real murderer.....

Her people don't respect her, but Inga, queen of the mer-folk, takes her responsibility to her people seriously. When she discovers several have been enslaved by a sorceress, she sets off to rescue them, accompanied by her best friend, Levet...

Unwillingly bound to a sorceress, Troy, King of the Imps, finds himself accompanying her in search of the crystal that promises immortality...

What none of them know, is each of their quests will lead them all to the same end.

This is that latest in Alexandra Ivy's Guardians of Eternity series. While I haven't read the series since the beginning, I had no problem connecting with the characters and following the story. I especially liked the way the story spiraled, moving the action from couple to couple, the scenes becoming more compact and tense as the climax of the story drew near. I was a little disappointed in what was essentially the epilogue. The end felt very abrupt, like coming to a sudden stop. Overall, though, this was an enjoyable read, following a chase to see who gets to the finish first. I'm looking forward to going back and reading what I've missed in previous books, as the author has created a rich and complex world I can't wait to learn more about.

Can I just say “It is Alexandra Ivy” and you will know it is a great book? Well you should. This is the 18th in the Darkness series. And as great as ever.

This time around we get Locke and Kyi’s story. Locke lost his mate a century ago when he believed his mate was killed but he learns what you know isn’t always fact. Xuria is still alive and Kyi is determined she will kill her this time around no matter what.

I really enjoyed Locke and Kyi and loved the suspense part of everything. I felt bad for both of them and hated Xuria but knowing I felt that connection makes the book even better for me.

You can never go wrong with Alexandra Ivy. She is really one of the best out there in Paranormal romance. Heck in any kind of romance since she does have other non-paranormal series.

All the books in the series can be read as a stand alone but I have no idea why the reader wouldn’t want the binge the whole Darkness series.

Just when you think the danger is over, it comes roaring back. Bewitch the Darkness by Alexandra Ivy is the eighteenth book of The Guardians of Eternity. Never boring, never just a rehash of former plots this series stays fresh and intriguing.

Locke and Kyi find that they are enemies but find that perhaps what they really need to do is work together to bring down a strong evil force. Then Levit and Inga are on a rescue mission. If that is not enough Troy has a mission to complete too. This story is jammed packed with vampires, werewolves, gargoyle and more. Never a dull moment and a time to develop a lasing love relationship too.

Don’t start if you only have a few minutes to read. Surely you will not want to stop and may not the other task done because you will keep reading. A true unpredictable page turner.

Bewitch the Darkness (Guardians of Eternity Book 18) by Alexandra Ivy
I have read every book in this series and this was as good as the others. It is Locke and Kyi story and it kept me on the edge of my seat not knowing what was going to happen next. It is also Levet and Inga, Styx, Xuria, Troy, Cleo and a few others that have their own sub stories. I loved Locke and Kyi, they both are strong H and h and have tortured pasts to get over but an evil sorceress to defeat. So many feels: angst, anger, deception, danger, many laughs, some tears, earned respect and plenty of steam to get us to a very HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Twisted Funny Great word building Unpredictable Romantic Easy-to-read Happily Ever After Scary Entertaining Steamy Wonderful characters Page-turner Action-packed Tear-jerker

Read in one sitting. Hooked me with Styx showing up in the beginning. Fell for Locke and all he had been through, loved the strength and compassion of Kyi. Laughed at Levet, no, with Levet and really, really wanted to hug Inga and tell her, she is enough. Each time Troy shows up I am a little more intrigued. We saw bits from his pass in this one. This has 3 different story lines that intertwined and kept me invested. Intrigue, mystery, suspense, laughter, romance, sorrow this book had it all. They say you can't please everyone all the time, and some people were not thrilled that this wasn't pages of erotica. I am one of the pleased. I didn't have to skim 20 million pages to look for the plot. This book was plot, a great plot and enhanced with love and intrigue. Thank you for the arc. I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

Locke has been" seeking solace" (read hatching a dastardly plan for revenge) for over a century. Someone killed his mate before they properly bonded and he's after blood. The King wants his Raven back on duty too.

When Kyi almost falls into his lap he's sure that his vengeance is almost complete. Pity Kyi throws a spanner in the works and informs him that his mate was nothing of the sort and was in fact a Sorceress! Oh, and also her mother!

Levet and Inga are also in amongst the drama along with Troy. But their adventures take them a slightly different route but as usual, end up just where they need to be in time for all the fireworks!

I sweat Levet steals the show. Every. Single. Time. LOL

A short, funny read with plenty of smexy moments! Perfect fit for a lunch time read.

Locke, a vampire, has been waiting years to get revenge from the woman who supposedly killed his mate. After waiting, he had a pendant that would let him know when the killer was close. Locke is the reason Kyi wasn’t able to kill her mother, he saved her. Kyi’s mother has been trying to kill her since she was born. Only one thing will drag Kyi away from her wooded land…her mother. Kyi’s mother is the very worse kind of evil. Locke shows up wanting to kill her for his mates death. Together they work to find and put an end to her mother.

Mrs. Ivy tells an interesting tale but she has too many “main” characters. I think there is like three mini stories together. There seems to be a little cliffhanger. Opposites do attract.

5 stars.........OF COURSE!!!!!

I would say Alexandra Ivy does it again, but that would just be silly, because she does it every time, with everything she writes!!! This one was a particular favorite. I love the way she always brings along Levet, and his special brand of chaos!!! The main story is, of course, Kyi and Locke. It's their book!!! We meet her sister Cleo, their evil mother, and revisit Troy and the Mer people Then we have my absolute favorite character in any book ever, LEVET!!! Levet and Inga go on their adventure as well. Add in some time traveling, some crazy magic, and wild adventure, and you've got Bewitch the Darkness!!! Another excellent addition to this wonderful series.

Arrrgh🤬!!!! So disappointed!!! Barely any steam AT ALL!!!!

I’m not sure if the “usually” amazing author ewas in a rush or something 🤷🏻‍♀️…. So, for me personally, if a book doesn’t have a decent amount of steamy sex, it’s a no go for me. Heck, just a couple steamy sex “scenes”. This was One of those books where they fast forward through the actual sex (2 maybe 3 short sentences) and then. The only other time is at the very end and the Author has completely skipped the sex! It only says that they are laying there naked and mentions they had sex. That’s. It!!!!!!!!!!! That’s all you get. I have read the other books, which is why I don’t understand why this one got (the short end of the stick) so to speak….. JUST SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!!

After the previous Anasso was killed by Styx, his fellow Raven Locke, went into isolation in the mountains of Iceland for personal reasons. But his retreat was interrupted by Styx just as the moment he’d been waiting for hundreds of years finally happens. He finally has away to track down the nymph that murdered his mate and find out why.

Meanwhile, Troy, the Prince of the Mer-folk, gets an unexpected summons from a powerful nymph named Cleo.

Levet is a usually a hoot, but was kind of stale and boring this time. In fact, the whole story was a just a big run around where we knew what was going to happen and were waiting to get it over with.

Fave scenes: the tapestry travesty, the portal attic and Troy’s tiara.

I have enjoyed Alexandra Ivy romantic suspense series and thought I would read one more of the author Guardians Of Eternity series. The story is told from different prospective giving readers a deeper look into the minds of the lead characters and the world the author created.

The banter between the two lead lead characters is entertaining and well paced though the story. The balance of romance, fighting and movement in the story keeps readers wanting more from this series.

Bewitch The Darkness has a feisty, fun, strong, sweet female lead and a grumpy male lead who doesn't realize what he wants until he tries to kill her.

Thank you for netgalley for a copy of Bewitch The Darkness.

Our favourite characters are back. Locke thought that he had lost his mate and that is doomed never to find her killer. But that all changes when he finds Kyi but can he really believe her story about her crazy mother was pretending to be his mate. Will they be able to find Xuria before she does anymore harm? When will they realise that they belong together? Love the characters and how they all interlock with each other. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Alexandra Ivy has a great way of writing, which I love, and also love that even do this is the 18th book in her series, the mystery and intrigue continue. She knows how to develop strong female characters, and Kyi is one of them. The enemies to lovers trope are well played and I like who they went from hating each other, to working for the common purpose and finally falling in love.

Cool ideas; I like stories dealing with the paranormal world. Interesting magical ideas, and fun vampire drama. Entertaining read! Enjoyed the sweet, spicy connection between Locke and Kyi! There’s an enemies to lovers scenario going on, which I enjoy! A dangerous adventure with some good intrigue and action. There’s also some story going on with some other characters, but it all ties together. A fun read!

Thank you Goodreads for the win!
It has been a long time since I read a Guardians of Eternity book by Alexandra Ivy. That said, I was surprised by the inclusion of the many fae characters. The story of Locke, a vampire and one if Styxx's Ravens, brought back fond memories. Locke meeting Kyi, a nymph, was an enemies to love story. A favorite trope of mine.
Of course the story within a story of my fave Levet and Inga, leaves me wanting more of them.

BEWITCH THE DARKNESS Guardians of Eternity Book 18 by Alexandra Ivy

In this 18th book of the Guardians, Alexandra Ivy still has kept it fresh. This is the story of Locke the Vampire and Kyi. Locke is on a quest to take revenge against the one who allegedly killed his mate. Locke and Kyi are working together to figure everything out. Levet and Inga are back in this tome once again creating the chaos only Levet can bring. This is 4 stars.

I absolutely loved everything about this read.

I loved everything about this read. From Locke and Kyi, to the destruction of the evil twin and their mother, to Troy being the KISA. I especially loved that finally Inga was recognized and appreciated as the Queen of the Mer when she and Levet actually saved her people. And of course Levet and his words of wisdom are priceless.

Awesome book I loved the storyline its the perfect blend of fun, action and romance. The storyline is fast paced I couldn't put it down Kyi and Locke are suited for each other. I also like the she brings back characters from older books but still keeps true to the series I defineitly recommend the read.
