So who am I? My name is Rachel Hanna, and I am a wife, mother of three incredible kids (maybe I am a BIT biased?), two lovable doggies and one cat that lives outside and thinks he owns the world. Okay, I also have a gecko now too. Don't judge me.

I started writing as a young child, and I went into the field of Journalism for many years as an adult. Now, as a romantic fiction writer, I get to live out my own daydreams every single day and share them with readers around the world!

I'm a Southern chick living near Atlanta, so I say "yes, ma'm" and "ya'll", but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

I can't get enough of Hanna's books. This one took the cake. Forgiveness, sweet old lady, a bookstore and a cowboy what more could I ask for.

3.5 ⭐️!!!

Rachel Hanna’s Choices of the Heart offers a cozy and heartfelt exploration of love, forgiveness, and self-discovery. Set against the charming backdrop of Seagrove, the story invites readers into a world of small-town warmth and relatable family dynamics. However, while the book delivers on its emotional depth and comforting tone, it does have some shortcomings that hold it back from being a standout read.

The strength of Choices of the Heart lies in its emotional resonance. Hanna excels at weaving complex relationships and personal struggles into a narrative that feels authentic and meaningful. The protagonist’s journey of self-reflection and navigating difficult life choices is compelling and relatable, particularly for readers who enjoy character-driven stories. Additionally, the Seagrove setting enhances the story’s charm, immersing readers in a place that feels like home.

That said, the book’s predictability and slower pacing are notable drawbacks. While the themes of family bonds and second chances are heartfelt, the storyline follows a familiar trajectory, making it less engaging for those who prefer surprising twists. The introspective nature of the plot also leads to moments where the pacing drags, particularly in the middle chapters. For readers familiar with Hanna’s work, there’s a sense of repetition in the themes and character arcs, which might diminish the novelty of this installment.

Overall, Choices of the Heart is a solid addition to Rachel Hanna’s Seagrove series, offering a comforting and emotionally driven read. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of her best works, it still provides an enjoyable escape into a story of hope and redemption. If you’re a fan of Hanna’s books or small-town fiction, this is worth picking up—but don’t expect it to stray far from her usual formula.

This is a bit of a tearjerker so be ready. Paige has had a tough life. Her mom abandoned her so she was raised in the foster system. No one wanted to adopt so she was moved from foster home to foster home. She finally ended up in a home with an elderly woman who truly loved her and helped her. When the elderly lady died, Paige ended up in New York City and met a man. She fell in love and they got engaged. . He was from money and his mother didn't like Paige. He loved her but not enough to go against his mom. Eventually Paige ended up in January Cove and met Brett. Now she has some tough choices to make. Someone she thought was gone reenters her life but she has also fallen for Brett. Read to see how Paige's story ends. Some old favorites from January cove also make appearances in the story.
I loved this book and it is really worth the read.

Love this series but this book but was left me a little hanging. What did Paige and Brett do in the end? Did they get to stay together, did they build the wedding venue, book store re vamped. Just wish another few chapters to see what happened to them.
Love the author and narrator. The story, they told her he was dead. It was the worst day of her life. So she did not know what to do so she left and went to the Cove. There she met a cowboy. But her world gets turned upside down. Read to see what happens.

Another great addition to the January Cove series! I loved how original the meet-cute between Paige and Brett was, I let out a laugh. And then I really enjoyed their dynamic as they got to know each other. Since this is a novella, their story is very fast paced, but I felt like we got really good character and relationship development in such a short time. I had a cheesy grin throughout the book and was really rooting for Paige and Brett. I also appreciate that the third act conflict didn’t last too long before the HEA.

Paige is in January Cove recovering from the death of her fiance Daniel. She is focused on getting through each day until she meets Brett. Brett is fascinated by Paige and falls hard for her, especially after they get through a tragedy together. Then, a stunning secret from the past threatens to tear them apart again.

DNF

I liked the premise of the story. However, the writer spends several chapters building the story with characters that we could have been told about so we have more time with the current MMC. I read 43% of the book with the current lovebirds barely interacting with each other. I don't feel that 160 pages is worth the price of the story. Moreover, the writing felt stitled.

I loved the first five books of the January Cove series, but once all the family had founds their “loves,” it doesn’t feel like the same series. I think it should have ended after number five. Just my humble opinion... I think you could probably read the rest of them as individual and I doubt I’m going to read 8 through 10.

Enjoyed reading very much. These books are warm hearted. They grab your interest and you don’t want to put it down until you are finished. I enjoy the series because you can find out more about the characters.,

Romance, small town, family deception

The seventh book in the January Cove series is different from the others as there’s hardly a Parker mentioned. Nevertheless, the story is just as good, January Cove’s just as desirable and the characters are just as likable.

Before and After

I really enjoyed this book. As usual the setting was the beach town of January Cove. As a result we get to visit with some of the characters from earlier books. However we are introduced to a couple new ones. I am so looking forward to next book in this series.

Again, another good story by Rachel Hanna and more of a novella than a novel, but perfect for the summertime. I'm breaking from this author for a short while while I move onward toward Elin Hilderbrand's latest and last book as she apparently moves into retirement.

Amazing story!

Wow, every installment of January Cove brings on more emotions. This is a lovely convoluted story, following every twist with happy, sad, angry, worried and finally contented feelings. On to January Cove Book 8.

This was an intense book and I wanted to rip some people apart. I loved that the hero wanted to as well. I love that she chose the one that chose her- truly chose her.
