I am touched by the intimacy and wondrous colourful imagery in this diverse gathering of poems. I know my former neighbour and friend in new ways, new depths in her roles as mother, love, friend. Gay too, yes. Struggling to find a joy but abuse, sadness lurking. All this in a slim volume. My favourite stanza (though "The Sparrow Drawer" is my favourite selection):
