“On (un)becoming”
“As a girl they teach you how to become a woman, & then when you become a woman they teach you how to stay a girl.”
I love that part! it’s so true, a lot of women myself included, feel “forced” to uphold certain beauty standards (shave everywhere, don’t age, hide your wrinkles & grey hair) through fear of being ridiculed by society!
