4.5 stars - This book includes three short mystery stories from the Amish Candy Shop mystery series: Criminally Cocoa, Botched Butterscotch, and Candy Cane Crime. I have read several of the full-length novels in this cozy mystery series and thought these holiday stories from the series would be fun. They all feature candymaker Bailey King who runs an Amish candy shop with her grandmother. Bailey isn't Amish, but her grandmother and her assistant and cousin Charlotte Weaver are. Charlotte plays a large role in the stories, especially Criminally Cocoa and Candy Cane Crime which are both told from her point-of-view. All three are fun holiday stories, but my favorite is Candy Cane Crime in which Charlotte has a secret admirer. I recommend the book to both fans of the series and to new readers as a great introduction to the characters and the town of Harvest, Ohio.
I won an electronic version of this book in a goodreads giveaway. It has 3 short mysteries in various locations featuring my favorite character, Jethro the comfort pig. If you are looking for a light and funny read with a mystery to solve, the Amish candy shop mysteries are perfect. The author includes a recipe at the end too. Thank you goodreads for the free ARC of this book.
I really enjoyed this book of three short stories. The book was the perfect vacation/airline travel companion for me. The town of Harvest and Bailey and her friends and family are so likable. I'm excited to read more from the series as soon as more books are released.
The Amish Candy Shop Holidays Bundle by Amanda Flower contains three short Amish Candy Shop Mysteries: Criminal Cocoa, Botched Butterscotch, and Candy Cane Crime. The first story takes place at Easter time in New York City where Bailey King is filming Bailey's Amish Sweets. When unexpected setbacks keep threatening the completion of the show, there is a mystery to be solved. In the second story, Bailey is in Harvest, Ohio where she runs Swissmen Sweets Candy Shop with her Amish grandmother. It's Mother's Day weekend and her parents are coming for a visit. They will be attending a Mother's Day tea fundraiser to benefit Abigail's Farm. The farm is a retreat for women with drug or alcohol problems that is run by Polly Anne Lind. When someone steals the fundraiser's money, Bailey goes into sleuth mode to figure out who did it. In the last story a candy cane exchange is being held to raise money for new costumes for the annual Christmas pageant on the square. For one dollar a candy cane will be delivered to someone with a personal message. Charlotee is talked into being in charge of putting this fundraiser together. The mystery is, who has been leaving messages for Charolette signed "secret admirer"? One thing that is consistent about these books is the humor. There are interesting characters and a lovely pet pig--Jethro. These books are fun, quick reads.
Told in alternating views from story to story between Bailey and Charlotte, the collection is full of light hearted mysteries during the holidays. Bailey runs an Amish candy store with her Amish grandmother even though she is Englisch. Charlotte is Amish using her Rumspringa to decide if she wants to be baptized into the Amish church. She works with Clara and her grandmother who are Charlotte’s cousins. The cases involve sabotage on the set of Bailey’s new show, stolen money, and a secret admirer for easy to read, light mysteries that are fun with a feel good element. Recipes are a nice bonus.
So, I didn’t super love that Charlotte narrated the first one. The second story was really great, and it didn’t even need to involve a murder. The last one was also narrated by Charlotte, which I wasn’t thrilled about at first, but it turned out to be the best one. I like seeing Charlotte wrestle with her faith, Deputy Little getting a bigger role, and Abel Esh getting some heat. That dude is bad news and needs to get away from his poor sisters. Overall, these were a little too light and fluffy, though the candy cane story was worth it.

Each of the 3 novella in the book deals with a different holiday. The first is a holiday themed mystery of Easter Sabotage is part of the goings on in this one. But who is behind the sabotage of Bailey's show. Charlotte sets out to find out whose behind it. The second focuses on Mother's Day holiday and an authentic English tea. The third one focuses on Christmas.
This is another gem from Amanda Flower (actually three short gems!). Three Amish Candy Shop Mysteries wrapped around the holidays, Easter, Mother's day and Christmas. So good. A bit of a twist from the usual cozy murder mystery but a mystery all the same. You will enjoy the characters, the schemes and the crime solving.
A sweet bundle of three short holiday reads in the Amish Candy Shop Series. Includes stories taking place during Easter, Mothers Day & Christmas. These are fun, quick reads that I totally enjoyed as I wait for the next full length installment in the series.
