Pit demons Bug and Grog have a complicated relationship.
But when Grog is summoned to the human world by an amateur sorcerer, Bug embarks on a rescue mission, determined to annihilate all obstacles - demonic or human - to save the day and win the adoration and attention of her love interest. When it comes to romance, how could grandiose gestures of violent revenge possibly go wrong?
When a demon couple treads through hell until a group of misfits summon a demon the other displaced demon comes to the rescue what will happen when a demoness wants to prove her love
The second entry in Hyena Hell's Demons series is a marked improvement, both in terms of the storytelling and artwork. Contained within the framing of a story about demons in hell is one of a complicated romance and the meaning of love, but all depicted in Hyena's rigorously detailed artwork. The backgrounds are much more dense here and even more evocative of the Zap Comix design that felt like a distinct influence on the first issue. It's also much funnier than the first issue.
Bug, the lazy layabout lady demon from Issue One, has been demoted so many times that by her own account her rank in Hell is "minus infinity". On the plus side, she's finality managed to get into a relationship with Grog, the handsome giant pit demon whom she was lusting over in Issue One. But then a pimply teenage would-be sorcerer and his two goth girlfriends experiment with calling up a demon from Hell to do their bidding....and summon Grog.
Problem: Grog is a pit demon, far too low down the scale to do anyone's bidding. It's like kidnapping the royal palace janitor and ordering him to compel the king to abdicate in favour of the kidnapper.
Worse problem: Bug is *angry*. Bug wants to rescue Grog. Bug will let nothing stand in her way.
Even worse problem: Teen Sorcerer can't send Grog back to Hell. The only way for Grog to get back to Hell is the death of the summoner. Ulp.
So Bug gets hold of her layabout incubus brother, Skud, who's far up the hierarchy from her, and has access to passes and such that navigate the crippling bureaucracy of Hell (you have to read it to believe it) and forces him to get her up to Earth. Whereupon he promptly deserts her to deflower virgins and get monks to anally violate each other.
I like that "Hell" is its own weird mythos. Who cares about heaven? Or Satan? Screw it we just torture people idk who cares?!? I think this was snappier than the first issue, art was clearer and the gags were stronger.
