Sawyer has one undead boyfriend and two sleeping immortals to look after, and now he's wanted for arson.
After bringing an efficient and brutal end to the firebomber that had been terrorizing the supernatural residents of Phoenix, AZ, Sawyer thinks his boys deserve a break. All he wants is some time to develop his relationship with shy, nameless revenant, and maybe to get to know Asher Thomas, the powerful dragon who's only just beginning to recover from his violent abduction at the hands of the bomber. There's probably not enough time in the world to tame the bratty angel Piccione, but Sawyer could give that a shot, too.
But time is in short supply. Apparently, the police find it awfully suspicious that Sawyer was present at two burning buildings in as many days—or did the bomber have allies on the police force? And what happened to the ancient dragon Quetzalcoatl who had been kept by the bomber for years as a living supply of highly flammable dragon's blood? Is he safe from retribution?
Mortal Magic: Consort is the second book in the urban fantasy Mortal Magic series, featuring a fast-paced plot and a gay harem romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after at the end of the series. The romance is slow-burn with some D/s elements. The books should be read in order, so if you're ready to jump into the world of Sawyer and his supernatural escorts for the first time, start with Mortal Magic: Stray.

I greatly enjoyed Consort, even more so than Stray. They must be read in order. We get to learn more about the various characters, such as background, relationships, and what makes them tick, while the overarching plot moved forward at a steady pace. There is conflict in the dark community brewing, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! I really feel for Sawyer and the struggles he’s gone through. Life has not been kind but he remains genuine and keeps trying, and I so want him to find a safe harbor and accepting community. Jackbird Lee writes differently than most authors in both voice and style, and it really works for me. I received an ARC and am happy to be leaving a review. This is one of those stories that got under my skin and I eagerly await the next book. Book includes: a very honest MC, polyamory, communication issues - Sawyer is a good influence, mental health issues, good sex, the family you choose
Dnf@49% What is this?? Nothing makes any sense. At all. There’s no explanation, no world building, no character development. I have no idea what is happening or why. One of the characters is mean and just an all around terrible person yet someone our main character loves him? And they’ve only known each other like a week? Apparently he’s interested in all these characters but I have no idea why?
I just don’t know anything. There’s like 75% of the story missing. The author needed to go back to the storyboard with this one.
I just love the series. The main character Sawyer is kind honest and going through some things. The men/creatures he gets caught up with have their flaws - but Lee made me love them!! This whole parallel “dark” world hidden in plain sight in phoenix is captivating. World building A+, relationships - totally believable, not just sex scenes but sensuality scenes!? My only complaint is that I don’t have the next one in my hand right now!
Loved this second installment of Sawyers tale. If you liked the first book I highly recommend this: Action/adventure, fluff, sexy times, and a little angst.
Got a little bit frustrated with this one. If you're going to have dragons involved, I feel like they should be pretty powerful? And like, if you have several "powerful" magical beings on your side, they should be able to take on one necromancer? So that was a bit hard for me.
Nem deveria ser marcado como polyamoroso porque quase não há romance, praticamente não há. Além disso, a história é tremendamente confusa. Muito decepcionada.
I love this series so much! Monsters are actually monstruous! This is not a straightforward romance, it is very much a harem with a complex knot of interpersonal relationships that take some time to resolve and the main character is a magnet for immortals, which I respect so much.
The plot is just as intricate, like a puzzwith jagged lies slowly fittitng together to form an intriguing picture that is far from being resolved by the end of this book but promises some grand things to come.
This book was absolutely fantastic. I love the characters SO MUCH. Piccione in particular is just such a loveable mess - he's so awful but he's also so clearly trying to make some sort of character growth xD
