Death & Desolation
A shootout in broad daylight rattles Delhi! Inspector Zayed scrambles for answers. He had fought tooth and nail to get Arjun Rathore exonerated after the latter was framed as a fugitive, but in vain. The conspiracy seemed to go deeper, their only lead being a RAW agent who is still nowhere to be found. Even at a loss for where to look and finding people hard to trust, Zayed might still have some tricks up his sleeve. Stuck in the middle of this mess is protagonist Dr. Vijay Yadav, as an unknown power begins to hunt people down along with him, those who have any ties with Arjun. Frustrated with the battle with his own demons and running out of people to help him, he ends up with a mysterious group of saviors who seem to have a plan which might entangle him in the same conspiracy. The story follows Vijay, as he is sent to uncharted territories for information which may relate to him in more ways that he could think, with the formidable power called the Network close on his tail, carrying out their own wretched plans.

Dive into the world of mystery, adventures and a quest to solve. It's a fast-paced story with an intriguing plot. The way events were taking place, will entice the readers. Each chapter unfolds a mystery, adding more thrill to the story.
The shifting plot between the past and present made it interesting as well as a bit hard to connect the dots with many events happening. With crisp descriptive narration and an engrossing writing style, it's a story worth witnessing.
The characters are well sketched by the author. Too many characters made it a bit difficult but overall it was good. I loved Vijay's character the most. I liked His determination to find Tia's murderer and save people. The way he unravelled the mystery is commendable. I loved Zoya's character too. With lots of drama and activities happening around, Abhimanyu captures the reader's attention with unexpected twists.
The story picks up well after the first few chapters. It was confusing at times with shifting plots and connecting the dots but in the end the excitement to solve the mystery.
I wish the font size was a bit larger as it would have been an easy read.
Overall, it's an intriguing read. A fast-paced story filled with adventures that you will enjoy. Want to read something thrilling and exciting? This book is surely the one.

In first part, Arjun Rathore is a police officer who lives peacefully with his family until his wife dies in a car accident and his best friend Aditi is murdered, resulting in murder allegations against him.

The plot appeared to be more complex, with their lone lead being a RAW agent who has yet to be found. Even if he doesn't know where to search or who to trust, Zayed may still have some tricks under his sleeve. Second parts of thriller series are always special to me. I have been waiting for a long time for this second part to get released and I have my own reasons behind it- the first part ended in a heart stopping plot twist and you can feel the helplessness, right? The second series begins right from the end of the first book and yes- I felt peace and rush at the same time as I began reading.
I absolutely loved reading this book and i recommend it to everyone who loves thrillers. Writing style is perfect.

I loved the writing style of the first book, and that was the very first factor that amalgamated me to the series. Feeling the same rushes, tension, twists gave me no other choice than to put 5 stars for this book. Both in crime deduction and hospital scenarios, the authors made the descriptions rule.
There is a lot of research behind this book and I can feel it by reading the details. Everything is very lively and realistic, showing the tension enduring in each scene. Yet again, the end is lit. Waiting for the next book!
Most recommended for all thriller series lovers.

Death and Desolation is the book 2 of the series. The first book was Death and Dishonor and truly enjoyed it back in 2019 or so.
This book is written by the duo. Abhimanyu Saxena and Tanmoy Basak. Even if you have not read the book 1 you can still read book 2 as a standalone.
First come first , I truly adored the cover. It's made mysterious and has dark suspenseful vibes!
Now coming to the story it's a thriller with loads of twists and turns. A shootout in the open daylight sterns out everyone. Inspector Zayed leaves no stones unturned but still fails to catch the culprit and understand the conspiracy behind it. When their all hopes are on the RAW agent he is nowhere to be found. Admist all these turmoils Vijay Yadav is stuck in the middle where he is frustrated with his inner battles and lands up into a mysterious savior group who are somehow linked with the same conspiracy where he now may get landed up too.
How will he understand what's their intention. Morethan that how are their plans linked more directly to him than he truly knows ? Will Zayed be able to solve the enigma ?
The characters are well developed. The plot set up is a thoughtful one with good pace. Only thing is the font I found was bit small for my comfort zone.
It's definitely a mysterious ride alongside the protagonist and the officer who try to execute their plans and the detective thrills kept me intrigued till the end.
I do recommend this book to thriller lovers. Check this new book out. If you read the book 1 and then this book you will find it more entertaining but even otherwise it's a good riveting read.

I read the first book more than two years ago. My memory is hazy but I remember I liked it a lot back then. However over the years, I've become extremely conscious of the kind of things I read and though my reviews have become critical over the years, I'm glad that I've developed an understanding of things that appeal me.
Death and desolation is the follow up of the book Death and Dishonor and though the protagonist is different, the premise is a mirror image of the previous story with a complex mystery that has far bigger consequences than what we saw in the previous one.
The writing style was enriched with emotions the authors wanted to portray but the twists and turns weren't as jaw dropping as you'd expect them to be. The motivations behind the actions of the characters weren't nearly as well defined as I'd have liked and so I couldn't really connect to them or the plot.
However, it does make a decent thriller and would interest beginners who are looking for an engaging read without much expectations.

This book starts with the tracking down of whoever and whatever is behind the conspiracies that happened in the last book. Because of the way the first book ended, it paved way for more endangering acts and the dark network had the chance of exploiting to their maximum advantage.
Here, police department and a specially asssigned task force come into action. Will they stop the attackers? No answers, no leads, it remained elusive. In a split second, the suspense offers back to back deaths of important characters that i wished they would be alive to find the secrets. But! No. That was intense.
A page turner with action packed sequences piles layer upon layer of surprises and twists. It was written ingeniously having developed plots and multiple cast of characters and intense storyline.
Again, this book ends in a cliffhanger. Honestly, it was interesting from the beginning and the ending just left me with surprise.
Those who like action packed crime thriller, do check out this book. I highly recommend.
