Alex Detached. Driven. Focused. Those are the qualities that helped me win multiple Olympic medals, and when fate ended my swimming career early, those same qualities led me to run a thriving Manhattan restaurant business. But all of my success did nothing to prepare me for Savannah Reese. She’s beautiful, but also clumsy, awkward, and determined to make me question everything I ever believed to be true about myself. I thought I had all I wanted in life, until she shows me what I have been missing. But she refuses to fall for my charm, especially once she’s hired by my business partner as a consultant. Every word, every glance, every stolen touch, they only make me want her more. And for the first time ever, I want more than just one night with a woman.
Savannah I came to New York for a fresh start and to prove that I could make it on my own. So far, so good. I’ve got a place to live, a job, friends, and cheap wine and cheetos to keep me company at night. I thought I was happy. Okay, I thought I was content. Until Alexander Devlin comes along with all of his suave British charm. He’s the kind of man your mama warned you about. Arrogant, sexy, and dangerous to a woman’s heart. He’s also my boss. Which should make him off limits… Except he doesn’t seem to think so… This sexy swimmer is out to seduce me, and I can only resist him for so long.
Written in the Cocky Hero Club world, Seductive Swimmer is inspired by the novel Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward.
She is clumsy on land (but graceful swimming) and refuses to adopt Molly, the dog at the shelter where she works. She says if she can't afford the adoption fee then she can't afford a dog.
Her friend offers to pay the fee for her but instead she leaves this poor dog in the shelter, when she could have brought her home.
GAH! I cannot believe I missed out on this release in 2021!
Overall, this story was delightful! There’s really only one tiny circumstance surrounding the story that made it less bright for me but I’ll go into that in a minute! I loved the meet-cute and the connection they had because of it! It was refreshing and unique. I love the choice to make this a slow-burn journey but I also hated how long it took for things to get going! LOL I loved that the friendship between them grew without first being intimate. This also was refreshing for me to read because you normally see both the friendship and the intimacy grow parallel to each other in a story. It gave them both authenticity and that thing (lol) I needed out of the story to believe in their HEA!
This is my first read/listen by Julia and I’m jumping straight into two ALCs provided by her, Always & Forever and Rumours & Romance, to listen & review as a promotion. I feel good about it :) and I think it’s going to make for an excellent #binge!
Now, for the not so great about Seductive Swimmer …
I have to admit that I wasn’t happy with the circumstance of adopting Molly the way it was written. It baffled me really and I had to suspend reality to the point where it just came across as ... well, dumb. Without doing any in-depth research, I am confident in saying that as a forensic accountant, Savannah made very good money. I know she wanted to pay off her student loans etc etc etc before the adoption, but seriously, you love this dog but yet you leave her in this facility over and over again when realistically, that didn’t need to happen. And by creating this plot-point that way, the story lost a lot of shine for me. *shrug*
Julia is a new author to me, and I am certainly a fan girl now. Alex and Savannah are different in all ways but the attraction between them is still palpable. Alex is confident, suave, a talented swimmer, a great businessman and oh yes very British! Savannah is starting over in a new place with her job and home. She is a bit awkward, shy and clumsy but oh so talented and smart. A chance meeting at the local indoor pool is the setting for this meet cute and it is game on. It is a slow simmer with wonderful chemistry but what happens now that Savannah finds herself working for the man she can't get out of her head or fantasies! This couple is sweet, funny, have wonderfully witty banter and oh yes are sizzling off the pages. ~~Michele McMullen ~~
"She is fueling my fantasies every night and tormenting my thoughts every day. And I don't even know her f*cking name."
Savannah Reese likes to swim very early, every morning, at her local fitness centre. Recently, there's been someone swimming in the lane next to her. A beautiful god of a man who swims like a fish. They've caught each other's eye a few times but, the moment he winks at her, she knows that she needs to stay away from him. She's a fiercely independent woman trying to make her own way in the world. She doesn't need that type of cocky, arrogant guy in her life, who could break her heart.
"Walking away feels impossible now. He's under my skin, making his way into my heart. Which is dangerous territory."
Alexander Devlin is becoming increasingly obsessed with the gorgeous woman he sees every morning. Unfortunately, she keeps running away in the opposite direction. She invades his mind constantly and keeps distracting him from his work. Until, one day, she actually turns up at his office. They've just hired her for some contact work. In spite of warnings from his business partner, he's determined to have her in his arms, in his bed.
"Underneath all that sexy swagger is a guy who needs to be loved."
This was a such an easy, absorbing story to read. Both Alex and Savannah carried emotional baggage. Savannah stubbornly held on to hers, while Alex was more willing to let go and explore his feelings. I was delighted with this since he was a playboy and was relationship-shy. I loved that he wanted to spoil her and make her life easier and safer. They had chemistry for days and were well matched in the bedroom. I wanted to give Savannah a good shake for hanging onto her principles so hard - seriously, the guy just wanted to make her happy! However, I was relieved when she stepped up for him when he really needed her. A fun, sexy, slightly angsty read.
Alex and Savannah come from different backgrounds, but they both have a passion from swimming. Their meet cute was at the pool they both use, but their paths cross again, when Savannah becomes a consultant for Alex’s business.
I loved the chemistry and the tension between the two of them. Alex has always been on his own, he isn’t one for relationships or any sort of emotional connection, but Savannah instantly catches him off guard and he knows there is something special about her. Savannah has heard about Alex’s past and is willing to just have a little fine with nothing serious. However, she can’t resist his charms.
I loved how effortless everything was between the two of them. Alex, despite having never been in a relationship, is super sweet, caring and willing to talk through things with Savannah. Savannah is stubborn at times and wants to be independent, but I love that she slowly lets Alex in.
Seductive Swimmer was just a fun book to read from start to finish. I loved Alex, Savannah and their relationship, plus Molly…she was such a fun addition to this story.
If you’re looking for a workplace romance this is one to read.
Savannah of course has noticed the hot guy swimming in the lane next to hers at the public pool where she swims, but she has never let on because she figures a gorgeous guy like him would have no interest in her. Little does she know Alex has taken as much notice of her as she has of him, and can't get her out of his mind. But what to do when they find out he's her new boss?
Alex is British. Enough said.
All kidding aside, yes, he's British, but he's also got a lot more to offer than just his accent and his swimmer's bod. He ends up being one swoony guy, finding his frozen heart melting for sweet Savannah. I loved this entry in the Cocky Hero Club. It's fun, hot, and these two are a great couple.

Seductive Swimmer scorches the heart with the heat it exudes. Alex and Savannah are a mix of broken pieces and temptation that speaks to the soul on so many levels. From cute to emotional, Jarrett put everything on the line to seduce this reader's heart.
I am huge fan of Jarrett's work but this one just feel a little flat for me. It hit certain tropes for me 100% but unfortunately, I didn't connect to the characters and I felt their connection was forced. I'm not sure if it's me or the book or a combo of both. Having said that, Julia is a wonderful writer and I'm eager to read more from her in the future.
Another addition to the series that I enjoyed. It was fun and sexy. Alex and Savannah met every morning when they go for a morning swim. They are immediately attracted to one another but Savannah is very guarded. What they don't is that Savannah is the new hire at Alex's company. For Alex, she's off-limits however his attraction for her just grows every single day.
I really enjoyed this book a lot. Though IDK why Savannah thinks Alex is the one who has his walls up when it's exactly the opposite. He might not know how to be in a relationship but the way he is with her shows exactly how much he cares about her. For me, it's her who is waiting for the other shoe to drop and has her walls up. Except for that, I still think it's pretty enjoyable.
Savannah and Alex are like Light and Day. One is strong, confident and charming while the other is smart but shy, a clumsy nerd. The one thing that got them together is water as they both are passionate about swimming. Although, attracted to Alex, Sav has kept him at arms length due to her past. Will she be able to resist once they end up together because of work??? It's not just Savannah's past that will get in between them but there are shadows of Alex's past lurking. Will two people who do not want a relationship end up with something precious?? It's a beautifully written journey of Savannah and Alex. It was a flawless read😁.
Alex and Savannah's story is brilliant! I loved watching their dynamic change and become something more than just a boss/employee. The secondary characters added depth and connection to the readers. Nicely done and a great addition to the Cocky Hero Club world.
Accounting consultant Savannah Reese and restaurant group COO Alex Devlin, a 2-time silver medalist for Great Britain's Olympic team, have been swimming at the same community pool early each morning ever since Alex moved into his new apartment. They haven't spoken, but they've certainly noticed each other. That changes one day when Alex finally decides to make his move on Savannah, who rejects his advances and even stops using the pool for a few days. When she returns, he tries again, but she runs away from him. Later that day, they see each other again at Alex's office, where his business partner has just hired Savannah to consult on a project in advance of the opening of their new restaurant. Now that they'll be working together, Savannah is more determined than ever to keep her distance from Alex, but he's equally determined to pursue her. He can't stop thinking about her and the attraction only grows stronger the more time they spend together.
I've read books by this author before and really enjoyed them, but unfortunately I had a tough time with this one from the start. I didn't particularly like either of the main characters, nor did I think they made a very good couple. Savannah seemed too much like a scared little mouse for most of the story, and Alex was too aggressive in his pursuit of her even after she made it clear that she wanted to keep things professional between them. One of the few things about Savannah I did like - that she was clear on the fact she wanted a relationship and not a casual fling - went out the window about halfway through the book when she started wearing sexy new lingerie, which was apparently all it took for her to become confident and flirty and decide that casual sex with Alex was just fine. Did she buy a new personality to go along with the lingerie?
Savannah's panic over not having enough money to adopt the dog near the end of the story didn't make much sense to me, either. All along, her stated goal had been to save enough for the adoption fees plus the first year's worth of expenses (e.g. food). If all she was waiting for was the final payment from Alex and his business partner to reach her goal, shouldn't she already have had at least enough for the adoption fees saved up? It seems like that last little bit (which was only $200!) should have gone towards the first year's expenses, not the fees themselves. (If that wasn't the case, how ridiculously expensive were those fees?) Bottom line, it wasn't nearly as big of a deal as she was making it out to be, and it really irritated me that a woman as smart as Savannah supposedly was couldn't figure out a solution. Even if she didn't want to borrow the money from Alex, both her parents and friend Bianca had offered to lend her the money, or she could have used a credit card and paid it off as soon as she got paid. (It probably wouldn't even have cost her interest since it would have been for such a short period of time!)
Overall, while this book wasn't for me, it may appeal to readers who enjoy the workplace romance trope. Having enjoyed other books by this author in the past, I look forward to checking out her next release.

I really really love Seductive Swimmer! This was a wonderful book! So sexy, romantic and beautiful! I love Alex and Van. It’s so perfect how they have a crush with each other secretly until neither of them can resist it. It’s amazing their connection, their love and how they manage to express themselves. I love the characters and their personalities. This book is perfectly written. I love it from the first sentence until the final dot. Highly recommended!
Seductive Swimmer by Julia Jarrett is a swoony, fun, sexy and low in angst read that I loved and devoured in on sitting.
On paper Alex and Savannah are opposites. However, swimming is a common interest that not only grounds them both but brings them together. I loved the sizzling chemistry and the connection these two shared. Alex our hot and cocky hero is Mr anti relationships and emotional connections. But.... From the moment he saw and met Savannah he felt a spark and knew she was different. Savannah is a nerdy and independent woman who is definitely thrown for a loop when the sexy swimmer she has definitely noticed not only shows interest but also becomes her boss. The relationship growth between these two felt natural and effortless. Considering Alex initially had up relationship walls, when he let me down and was truly open to a possible future with Savannah he was so sweet, swoony and understanding. Savannah, Savannah, Savannah.... damn this nerdy and independent woman had me laughing and frustrated all at the same time.. haha.. Im all up for independence but damn let a sexy man help you out once and a while.. hahaha...
I loved this read which has the perfect combo of a sexy and cocky hero with a cough cough swooonnnn accent, a strong and independent heroine, an adorable rescue dog, and some Kindle heating steam.
All hail the Sexy Swimmer Guy! Seductive Swimmer was an addictive story perfect from the beginning to the end it had me giggling and slapping the sheets like a teenager.
Sexy Brit Alex, a former Olympic swimmer and cocky playboy finds himself splashed when he first notices Savannah in the swimming lane next to him awestruck when all his charms to woo Savannah to bed don't seem to work Alex has to take a second guess on why he's so hell bent on getting things more complicated when Alex turns out to be Alex Devlin, Savannah's new boss. Both equally stubborn and trying to protect their hearts can they take a chance on true love?
As an avid swimmer myself I could feel the awkwardness of inner dialogue and sexual tension between Savannah & Alex like it was my own and if you love the chase and sexy hot tub scenes I highly recommend picking up Seductive Swimmer!
Seductive Swimmer is a standalone novel by Julia Jarrett and is part of the Cocky Hero Club world. This is an addictive story between a sexy former Olympic British swimmer and a beautiful clumsy, Independent girl. Alex and Savannah come from very different backgrounds, but they both have a passion for swimming and is what ties them together. Being in the water was an outlet for both of them, it was where they felt at home. Savannah is an independent woman determined to make it on her own but she can’t get the sexy swimmer occupying the lane next to her out of her mind. They have noticed each other but have never spoken until Alex wants to know more about her. He come across as cocky and Savannah resists him until fate steps in with a job offer for her at his company that Alex just so happens to co-own with a college friend, and that is where they learn each others names, and are very surprised to see each other!! They have a wonderful chemistry which they can’t deny. This book is so sexy, sweet and romantic! It’s so perfect how they have a crush with each other secretly until neither of them can resist it. It’s amazing their connection, their love and how they manage to express themselves. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this delightful book, it had me enthralled and I devoured it within a day. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a workplace sports romance. I received an ARC copy for a honest review from Give me books PR
Savannah loves to swim it helps her with the stress of her day, but she can't help notice the new guy who now takes up the row next to him. He's hot with a capital H and has swim moves in the pool. She tries to avoid him but when he tries to talk to her well she becomes all clumsy and fumbles. Alex has been through a lot but swimming is his passion and it helps release the tension when he decides it's time to talk to the woman in the next lane he doesn't realize it's about to get complicated. These two will not only know each other at the pool but are about to be thrown together at work. Alex will show Savannah that he is worth taking a chance on but is he really? Can these two have it all or will things just spiral out of control?
This one was so much fun and yet emotional at the same time! Savannah falls hard and fast for the sexy swimmer she sees every morning. Alex’s world gets turned upside down when he finally develops feelings for a woman that he wants to last longer than one night and she ends up being a consultant for his office.
This one is a sexy slow burn that held out the perfect amount of time to really build the tension. When Alex and Van finally give in to those feelings it get really hit really fast! This one gave me all the feels and had me swooning for more.
The Seductive Swimmer is just that, an addictive story between a sexy British swimmer and a beautiful clumsy sweetheart! Savannah is an independent woman determined to make it on her own but she can’t get the sexy swimmer occupying the lane next to her out of her mind. When she accepts a new freelance accounting job she is surprised to learn her unknown sexy swimmer is her new pseudo boss and that the attraction is mutual. The attraction and chemistry between Alex and Savannah is undeniable but can they both move forward together or will their past hurts prevent the future they desire.
The chemistry between Savannah and Alex is on point! As a former swimmer myself, I love the connection they share with their mutual love of the water and the importance of a good swim. The struggles both Savannah and Alex faced where so real and so common that the reader can easily connect to them. I also loved how vulnerable Alex was with his actions showing Savannah his true feelings even before he could put them into words.
Rating 4.5 stars
Great sports romance read with realness! Thank you @juliajarrettauthor for this eARC in exchange for my honest feedback!!
This was a fun and hot story about two people, both who love to wake up early and go swimming in NYC as their workout. They are very attracted and have noticed each other but don't want to complicate things and they have never exchanged names.
Savannah is supporting herself in NY and works as an accountant and also she volunteers at the animal shelter. She is friends with Dexter Truitt and he recommends her to his friend Alex and Brayden who needs some accounting help as a consultant.
And thats how Alex and Van meet in person with names. He wants to pursue something with her and he thinks he wants more than one night but he really only has done one night so Brayden tries to covince him to not mix it up with her.
Van has had a bad business relationship turn personal before and it trashed her life so she tries to resist. Can she resist the hot swimmer? Can they make it work? How will it affect the business? Well you have to read this story to find out,
I enjoyed this story a lot. I was well written and had some really fun and hot scenes and I really enjoyed all the characters in this story.
I received a complimentary early release copy of this e-book from the author prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I so enjoyed Seductive Swimmer and Alex and Savannah. Savannah and Alex "meet" at a public swimming pool where they both go to work out. That is one thing that they have in common. Savannah certainly likes what she sees, but she is shy, and figures someone like Alex would never want someone like her, or all he would want is one night. They never exchange names, but Savannah has made quite an impression on Alex as well, and he can't think of much else then the beautiful woman he keeps seeing at the pool. Fate decides it's time to step in and Savannah is offered a job at the company that Alex just so happens to co-own with a college friend, and that is where they learn each others names, and are very surprised to see each other!! Savannah is a freelance accountant who has been hired by Brayden and Alex to look into some things that aren't adding up. Alex and Savannah both have had especially in Alex's case tough childhoods, for Savannah it was feeling smothered, so now she feels she has to do EVERYTHING on her own...even if it means losing what she wants most because she refuses to accept help. Alex feels he was never good enough in his fathers eyes, and no matter what he did or accomplished it wasn't enough so there is some major resentment there, and it has effected him in his adult life and how he is with relationships...until he meets Savannah. They run into a couple of difficult moments, but will they allow stubbornness, amongst other things to get in the way of what they may be able to develop with each other? You'll just have to read this AWESOME book to find out!!
Alex has a few Olympic medals in swimming, as nothing got him distracted which is something he uses now to keep his Manhattan restaurant successful because an injury ended his swimming. Savannah is a girl who is determined to make it on her own so she's truly independent, but she also is a swimmer (of course not the degree Alex was). It's in the pool where she swims that she comes across Alex, and she captivated him instantly, but she wants none of it so she avoids him at all costs. However all of that ends when she's hired by his partner so now she actually has to talk to him. It's not that Savannah isn't attracted to Alex because she is, but it's more the fact that she believes he's bad for her. Alex is determined to make her his since she's different, and he is really amazing at this point, so will Savannah actually give him a chance?! This story was an amazing read & perfect addition to the Cocky Hero Club world that you don't want to pass up as I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
Alex and Savannah have the same workout schedule - swimming laps at a community pool. Their flirtation there becomes a bit awkward when she ends up being the new forensic accountant he and his business partner have hired as a consultant. But Alex knows Savannah is different from anyone he has met so he convinces her to try with him. Alex is in uncharted waters - he great up without good role models for relationships and he struggles to grow into the partner for Savannah he wants to be.
I really liked this book. I thought the characters were well written and the plot was interesting. I have read other books in this “universe” of books but not all. I did not feel like you would need to read any others to enjoy this one. I have read other books by this author and liked them so worth checking out her other stories.
Seductive swimmer by Julia Jarrett is such a fantastic romance . From the moment I started reading I found myself 100% invested in both Alex and Savannah’s story , as well as completely hooked . Julia is such a talented author , I do not think their has ever been a book I haven’t loved by her . Savannah and Alex come from completely different backgrounds but have one think In common , their passion for swimming . I can’t even express how much I genuinely loved watching their relationship change and grow throughout the story . The tension and the chemistry between them is off the charts hot , their journey is filled with so much emotion, love , steam , passion, angsty moments and so much more . Q
Holy cow! This was a hot and steamy quick read that got hotter with every turn of the page! Alex is in business with his best friend and is a former Olympian swimmer. He loved the ladies and was quite the ladies man until one knocked him on his butt. Fiercely independent Savannah has many goals set for herself and she won’t let anyone help her meet her goals. She’s going to get those goals met on her own no matter how stubborn she has to be. This was a really cute read, their banter was laugh out loud funny and they were extremely entertaining together. I really enjoyed this book, I look forward to reading more books by this author.
This book was very steamy. She doesn’t surprised. However, compare to her other books I have read this is a little more in the “wow” embarrass scenario. I read majority of her work and this one takes the star because she wrote is amazingly. I love the build up of the relationship between the characters. It makes it seem like you are there with them. Like is this what happens in real life scenarios.. I recommend it. It made me laugh and giggle at the story and different scenarios. I love how determine the protagonist is in doing what she wants and getting was she wants. She strong headed, set her boundary and her goals. That’s something relatable.
Alex & Savannah... These two are complete opposites. However, they just worked so perfectly together. I loved the banter between them down to the romance. Intense, incredible and so enjoyable!
Seductive Swimmer is a standalone novel by Julia Jarrett. The story is based on Mister Moneybags by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward and is part of their Cocky Hero Club world.
Seductive Swimmer is a fun, light, sexy, addictive read! Alex and Savannah were completely different people, but swimming is what tied them together. Being in the water was an outlet for both of them, it was where they felt at home. I loved this about them and how they always found their way to the water.
This story has the same steam level as Julia Jarrett's other books, with the difference that there are more steamy scenes. I enjoyed these sexy scenes and how I could feel the change in them, from just two people getting off to people falling in love to love.
This book was the perfect read to escape from everyday life. A hot, cocky hero, strong heroine, and a cute dog mixed with a realistic storyline and lots of steam is what makes Seductive Swimmer earn the gold medal.
I received an ARC from this book but am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
There isn't a book by Julia that I don't enjoy or feel I have a small connection to in what the heroine is going through. Seductive swimmer is a standalone and is one of Julia's best.
Savanah and Alex come from two different worlds with two different personalities but have one very important thing in common.. their love for the water. Swimming is what brings them together but the way they end up balancing each other out is what makes them perfect for each other.
This book has more sexy scenes then you usually see in a Julia Jarrett book and it was perfect. Another great one by Julia, don't miss it.
I really enjoyed this story. Alex and Savannah have some steamy chemistry but does he want more? And will she LET him help her? Both has issues from the past and it was interesting to watch them navigate their way through this relationship. There are some bumps along the way but to see if they get them worked out, you'll just have to get the book and find out for yourself!
