One wild night with Grant changed my life forever. Never thought I’d see him again… Until I meet my new neighbor.
Seven years ago, I sat next to a gorgeous man in first class. The flight was a bumpy ride… But that was NOTHING compared to what I gave him later. No regrets. Except for one. I didn’t get his contact info.
Now he’s my chiseled next-door neighbor. And he just saw me wearing nothing but a towel.
He wants to start over. Pick up where we left off. But there’s one thing he doesn’t know yet.
I have a six-year-old secret with Grant’s blue eyes. And she needs her daddy more than anything... If he’ll step up to the plate.
Boss Daddy is a full-length romance packed with heart and heat! No cheating or cliffhangers. The HEA is guaranteed to make you smile.
I so badly wanted to give this one 4 stars but I had to give it 3. I really liked this one but to me it seemed kind of rushed. Like there were holes in the story. Over all it was an fantastic read and I can't wait to read what Crystal comes up with next.
Good but predictable Good romance, simple, hot, but predictable as to the issue between Grant and Ada once they get together. However, the story between Ada and Grant becomes more moving and intense afterwards. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Normally I enjoy Crystal's books but this one didn't work for me. Ada and Grant have a one night stand. She walks out and doesn't see him again for 7 years. He soon learns that she had his kid. My problem with this book was with Ada. She was childish and constantly tried to ruin things. She got on my nerves and I had hard time liking her. The only good news is that in the end they got their happy ending together.
Grant and Ada met on a plane and ended up spending one night together. Six years later, the two become neighbors, with Ada having a secret with blue eyes that needs her father in her life. Can Grant and Ada make things work?

Not being very familiar with books by Crystal Monroe, I thought I’d grab this ARC and give it a read. All I can say is Wow. I should have grabbed her books before. While the book is pretty much formulaic in nature, it still has some great characters that really grab your attention and tug at your heartstrings. The plot works even though you know what’s coming, and the HEA? Totally awesome!
This is a really good little read that is definitely worth your time. Grab a copy for your TBR shelf today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it! ❤️) Rating: 4.5 Stars

My thoughts on the pair was that, their relationship was toxic, they bickered too much & I didn’t see in my eyes that translating into passion. They didn’t know each other either by the time they were Engaged at the end, they never made that effort, he asked her out to dinner and that part of the book wasn’t written in, probably would have beneficial demonstration their chemistry for the readers to see.
That little girl was absolutely not written with a 6 year old in mind. She was more like a stroppy teenager, far too in-tuned to what was going off around her.
I think the downfall for me was Ada, she was a flight risk, flaky and was not doing the best for her daughter, always running.

Family support is central in an individual’s healthy development. When beautiful college senior with rich chocolate hair and brown eyes, Adaline—Ada—Jones lost her parents in a car accident, at least she had her sister, Nicole—until she didn’t. Nicole, a recent college graduate, felt overwhelmed by grief and LA, the sisters’ home town, was too filled with memories and the recent pain of death. So, rather than seeking a local job where she could be near her sister, she took one on the opposite side of the country, moving to Philadelphia, leaving her younger sister to sort out college, life and grief alone.
And resilient Ada did manage. She continued her studies in journalism and picked up dog sitting gigs for extra money. So, 2 years later, with graduation only a month away in December, sister Nicole reached out to Ada, but not to arrange a graduation visit. Rather, to announce Nicole was getting married in Philadelphia and wanted her younger sister to be a bridesmaid and to fly out for the wedding. Thrilled to have her sister reach out, Ada agreed to come, especially when Nicole, knowing that the wedding festivities were at a bad time for Ada with school demands as well as money needs--paid arranged the expensive flight to Philadelphia. trip and the bridesmaid dress
But the sisters’ reunion was not the healing and reconnecting time that Ada had hoped to experience. Rather, she felt pushed aside, almost an unneeded accessory as she filled out the number of desired attendants, but not as the matron of honor as the only family representative.
Exhausted following the whirlwind days of travel and wedding activities, Ada reached the airport, crashing in the waiting area to sleep until time to depart. However, she was awoken by a snappish fellow passenger demanding that she remove one of the pre-wedding, girls’ night-out party favors—a pink headband with penis ears—in order to protect the innocence children who were seated nearby. But despite the unpleasant awakening, it came at a very timely moment—the final boarding-call—calling her by name—had just been announced. Gathering her stuff, including her penis hat, she clambered to the boarding area for her flight, and finally, she caught a break. Instead of the tight economy class seat in which she had traveled for the wedding, she was directed to the luxurious first-class area. But, what wasn’t “first class” was her snarky, sharp tongued, but panty-dropping handsome seatmate—Grant—with dark facial scruff, dimples, blue eyes and light brown hair. And when rich, snarky but oh, so handsome Grant provides his first name but not last, Ada is unwilling to even give her name to her irritating seatmate. So, when asked her name she becomes “Rochelle.”
The tension between seatmates—sparing mates—only increases with the hours of the cross-continental flight, until unexpectantly, weather tosses the plane around, and the pilot determines that they must land in Kansas City. So, while first class passengers, like Grant, head to phone local hotels for a room, Ada, bumped up to first class and who couldn’t afford an economy seat, she headed to the chairs in her carrier’s waiting area to sleep, or try to sleep, until the grounded flight leaves the next day.
But, Grant doesn’t want to leave his feisty seatmate behind in the airport. Promising to behave—and luring her with the spaciousness of the bridal suite-–the only space available to book—which also offered complimentary chocolates and champagne, “Rochelle” agrees to join him.
But when he awakens the next morning, his beautiful seatmate is gone—she booked an earlier flight out. And, although she said that she was from LA, no matter how he tries to find her upon his return, “Rochelle” is not to be found. And, unfortunately for Ada, despite her belief that she would never want to see Grant, the snarky, over-confident, but oh, so sexy seatmate again. She realizes that she does need to contact him, especially once she finds out that their layover in KC has consequences that are delivered on August 13 possessing blue eyes and dimples.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review, but I enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy for my personal library.
This was exactly what I was looking for; one-night stand, pregnancy surprise, then a delayed return of baby-daddy. Included drama surrounding adjusting for another parent, and the stress of suddenly learning you’re a parent.
What I have found to be an unfortunate undertone in Crystal’s books is the clear misogyny and classism they hold that becomes an undertone in many of their stories, but especially hard to ignore. (Spoilers ahead)
Mom is usually “forced to give up her dreams”, unable to pursue a better career because of the necessary sacrifices to climb in the industry, be it art, journalism, etc. Noteworthy- many single mothers do experience this, and it is a hard decision. Also noteworthy, Crystal never mentions welfare. Why is the California single mother without monetary support from family or friends not using the valid support options from the government? Child care cost assistance, food support, reduced living cost. These are all often complicated to acquire, which could add a realistic stress to the mom’s plate, but instead the option is not mentioned at all, why Crystal is welfare omitted from your stories?
Next, MMC (baby-daddy) explicitly states how he didn’t appreciate his parents’ style of ostentation and wealth, preferring the down-to-earth nature of his grandparents, and claiming that was more his style. MMC also lived in a larger mansion than his neighbors, and claimed that even though his parents failed in many ways paying for the best education was an area they were uncharacteristically correct in raising him. Why would “paying for the best education money can buy” be uncharacteristic for ostentatious wealthy parents? And why did “down to earth appreciating” MMC choose private school (which mom never came to terms with or appreciate for her child) over improving funding for the public schools? Literally the mom was hired to be his social media manager and find good PR ideas for his family-centric and inspired chain restaurant to participate in, but totally overlooked improving the public school for the option to instead rip child from friends (an issue mom cared about early in book, but author failed to mention with the school transfer conflict) and place them into the private program. Mom kept saying she wanted stability but when school came up, mom was only written to be worried about her child becoming snooty and spoiled (an issue that MMC resented and then mom dropped, instead of discussing).
Overall, wasn’t a fan of the typical “money good, poor bad”, or the ignoring of mom, writing her to be dependent on rich man, or the lacking character development of the child in the story. She was “smart”, but mom couldn’t sit down and explain that they were evicted from their apartment due to money (again, no mention of why they didn’t qualify for section 8 or SNAP or Medicaid, etc), instead allowing the child to assume she “didn’t like” the apartment so they left. A smart kid would be putting the pieces together, like realizing her mom worked a ton and they couldn’t fix things often. A shallow smart kid, whose intelligence was a “tell, don’t show” sort of thing.
Can we get a female main character who doesn’t have “milky skin” in one scene and “golden tan” skin in another? Or maybe a MMC without blue eyes? Or a story where neither character has the global minority of blue eyes and blond hair?
Again, the itch was scratched, but now I’m upset that Crystal either doesn’t respect a single mother who is on welfare, or simply hasn’t done enough research to understand the actual situation a single-mom in poverty would experience. Makes the conflict seem more shallow than it needed to. Give me women with freckles, kids who are sweet but a bit dull instead of “smart”, and a mom who realizes child support isn’t “accepting freebies”? Mom character: “I would do anything for my child!” Also Mom: Doesn’t mention welfare, turns down aid unless guilted, and doesn’t explain how the world works in order to help “smart” child understand their own life situation better.
I usually like books by this author but this was a bit of a mess
Grant and Ada meet on a plane. She has just returned from her sisters wedding (who ignored her the whole event) and i think he was on business. The plane has to lands and he manages to get a room and asks if she wants to join him. She does but the next morning she leaves while he is asleep.
He looks for her at the airport but she got an earlier flight. I don't know why she left so early.
I think it then skipped six years. She has a daughter now and is really struggling financially. She gets a job house sitting for a month and Grant is her next door neighbour. He pretty much know from the moment he sees Harper that she is his.
Ada was sooo annoying and seemed like two different people. In her chapters she was saying she has to tell him and she cant keep his daughter from him but then in his chapter she is such a bitch and dosen't tell him. Every chapter it was like a different person.
She sleeps with him but tells him it cant happen again then sleeps with him again then tells him again that they have to stop. One minute she wants him then she says she cant trust him then says he deserves a chance but then she is just awful to him. Honestly he should have just seen a lawyer and gone for shared custody and had nothing to do with Ada.
She starts working for him and officially dating him at the same time. Thatll work.
A guy at work basically assaults her and then he says that nobody will believe her as she has been there a few days and he has been there years. So she believes him. REALLY!
They guy does it again so she decides to tell Grant. He believes her and calls the guy in but when the guy says that Ada made the advances at him, Grant questions it because his ex cheated on him. And instead of going home, he goes to a bar he and his ex used to go to all the time and is shocked when he runs into her. He goes home in a taxi and Ada is waiting for him but when he stumbles to his front door she doesn't go to meet him. Then the ex turns up and tells her she is Grants fiance
What Ada does next really pissed me off. Her daughter finally has her dad and has only known him for a couple of weeks and what does she do instead of storming over there and demanding answers. She leaves. Not just down the road. Gets on a plane and leaves. How is that the best for your daughter? She is one of the most selfish MFC i have read in a long time.
He wakes up hungover and realises she has gone and runs all over trying to find her. He finds her at her sisters house and apologises and begs for her to give another try. He says he fired the guy at work and the ex wont bother them anymore so she says yes. I think she should have been the one to apologise to be honest.
I just didn't like Ada. She was like Jekyll and Hyde. I wish we got more of Grant and Harper bonding and less of Ada.
The epilogue was nice but defo the worst book of the series

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Bosses and Babies series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. Ada is headed home from Philadelphia from her sister’s wedding after her parents died in a car crash, the sisters drifted apart. She her first flight was cancelled and her second flight she nearly missed because she fell asleep Ada found out she was bumped up to first class and sitting next to a sexy rude man well he is borderline rude. Grant sexy as all get out owner of Arthur Lee restaurants based in LA. He is a little upset because the flight was held up on the account of Ada, he too is headed home after visiting his best friend. All he knows is that she is beautiful she gave him the name of Rochelle due to the turbulence she grabs Grants arm and because to these storms the flight was redirected to Kansas City. Grant getting one of the last hotel rooms offers to share it with her and the chemistry is insanely intense, and the magnetic pull is so strong they couldn’t deny it and ended up being together for the better part of the night. Ada (Rochelle) walked away with a little gift from Grant fast forward seven years later Ada is struggling to take care of her daughter (their daughter), she tried finding Grant but never got a last name only that he was in business. Grant has been trying to find Rochelle but unable to find her until he comes home early and hears a little girl calling for the dog next door. He knew there were no children living there and he was concerned that Jimmy Chew the dog would run out into the street. Grant jumped the fence and grabbed Jimmy Chew and when the girl introduced herself as Harper, he thought she looked familiar. Then he saw Rochelle will she tell him who she really is, will she tell him about Harper, will he be upset that he has a child, will they grab ahold of the second chance given to them, and can they find happiness?
Sometimes running away hurts more than it helps In Boss Daddy: A Secret Baby Romance by Crystal Monroe, fate brings Grant and Ada together where they created more than a few sparks, but a few emotions that sends Ada running and leaving Grant feeling undone. Their one night creates more than combustible chemistry, it also created something beautiful and long lasting. As characters, both are strong and well developed. Grant is successful in his business but not so much personally. He’s had his heart trampled on and just when he is at his wits end, the girl who left him reeling all those years ago magically appears in his life. Ada is equally strong, she has had to be as a single parent with little support. Only a best friend to rely on, struggling is her middle name since Harper was born. Letting people in has not been her forte and accepting help is often an absolute no. The plot has fate bringing these two together again and the reader just knows it’s what is best for their child. Best of all, Grant is all in and he even knows he wants to explore more with Ada. The author takes these two on a journey with their child in the mix, learning about one another, developing feelings and trust that allows them to more forward. Of course, as life is never perfect, neither is the journey! There’s some antagonism that plays a role in Ada’s MO and she’s running away again. I loved how this author verbally smacks/gut punches Ada with the truth of the matter out of the mouth of babes. It was a game changer for this character and this reader thought it was really very well done! Overall, Grant pursues Ada for all he’s worth throughout this book (despite a slight detour) and turns out to be perfect for Ada and their child. Ada puts a stop to her running and accepts his love and devotion for a wonderful and promising HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Boss Daddy is the fourth book in the Bosses and Babies series and it is a delightful and sweet story, with some smexy passion added in. One diverted flight to Kansas City finds Ada and Grant, seat mates on the plane flying from Philadelphia to Los Angeles, finds these two sharing a room. One thing leads to another and they have a lot of turbulence themselves, all night long. The next morning when Grant awakes he finds Ada gone to his disappointment. Flash forward seven years and Ada is having a hard time financially. She is about to be evicted so she takes a dog & house sitting job for a month, just to give her a bit of breathing room to figure out her next step. The thing is that she has to sort it out quickly as she is a single mother to a sweet and beautiful six year old daughter, Harper. When Ada had found herself pregnant she did try to find Grant but they had not exchanged information so it was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Plus it may not help that she gave him a fake name, hello Rochelle. But that needle is about to prick her again as she soon finds out her neighbor is non other than the man who gave her the greatest love of her life, thank you Grant. Grant is surprised to find that the young girl playing with the neighbors dog looks familiar, but he just can't figure it out. That is until Rochelle steps out and he flashes back to that one night in Kansas City. So now what do they do?

In this book we meet Adaline "Ada" Jones & Grant Salinger. When this book opens we find Ada on her way back from her sister's wedding. She is wondering why she even went to begin with. On the flight home she finds that her seat has been upgraded to first class seating. The guy she is seated next to is a jerk when she first gets on the plane. So when bad weather grounds the plane Grant finds what seems to be the last motel room in the city. They decide to share the room one things leads to another and Ada is gone before Grant even wakes up. They could both chalk it up to one of those nights, but Ada found herself pregnant from that night and no way to reach Grant. Grant knew he was a jerk when Ada first got on the plane little did he know when he tried to be nice and talk to her she would give him a false name. He looked for years for her before he knew he had to move on. That is until he found out his fiancé had cheated on him. Grant isn't sure he can trust any woman but when his next door neighbor has a house sitter for her dog and a little girl runs out after it he want to know why she looks like him. Can these two find a HEA or will the lies that are between them be to much?
Amazing story. There are so many ups and downs these characters go through you feel like you are riding the emotional roller-coaster with them. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I hated her! Really bad mum He was slightly better.
I don’t even know where to start with this book. In the beginning it was really good. They meet on a plane and share drinks. When a bad storm strands them, they get a hotel room and have an amazing night of passion. That leads to her having Harper her daughter. Seven years later she’s house sitting in the house next door to his.
***********Spoiler Alert************
So she treats him really coldly when she realises it’s him. When she finally lets him get to know Harper, he’s not allowed to help them financially or in any other way as he might leave them. Okay, I understand that but she’s giving him mixed signals all over the place! Ava has sex with Grant numerous times at his house, but then feels nausea that he’s using her for sex, after she told him she didn’t want a relationship????? When a co-worker lies about her, he believes him and thinks she’s lying. Then when there’s a misunderstanding and his ex lies to her, she moves cities and takes her daughter with her! What the ….. Never mind about the developing relationship between Harper and her dad!!! Or the fact that she couldn’t possibly move somewhere cheaper before as Harper had friends. Even her own daughter says that when there is a problem, she runs! Sex scenes not good! She has multiple orgasms that go on forever, hmmm. He has one condom that lasts all night! Nope!!
Having the perfect one nightstand with a hot sexy guy is just what Ada (Rochelle) need after leaving her sisters wedding where because of bad weather she stays with Grant in the only room left in the hotel and it was amazing but she leaves before he wakes up. After there night together she is struggling to keep a roof over there daughter Harper’s head, now they are evicted she lands a job house/dog sitting for a month all the while looking for Grant. Grant is the owner of Arthur Lee restaurants and after catching is fiancée cheating his not looking for someone new but on a flight home he meets the beautiful woman Rochelle and with bad weather they are grounded and stay together in the one room that’s left at the hotel, and to say the chemistry is off the charts is an understatement but in the morning Rochelle is gone and he try’s to find her but fails. At home he hears a child next door and goes to check it out because they have no children but when he meets Harper who is playing with Jimmy chew the dog and she looks familiar and then he see’s Rochelle who’s real name is Ada and her daughter and hopes to have a future with them. How will it all turn out when the secret she has comes out will Grant still want to be with them both or not.

5 stars I received a free copy of the steamy Los Angeles, California-based romance novel Boss Daddy: A Secret Baby Romance: Bosses and Babies Book 4: Grant and Ada by Crystal Monroe, and this review was given freely.
Connecting the East and West Coasts, this is an ironic and Fate filled story of loneliness, mistrust, and the desire for love and family which depicts the financial struggle of single mom Adaline “Ada” Jones to remain in expensive LA, California despite her sister Nicole deserting her for Philadelphia, PA. This easy-flowing tale has darkness resulting from a self-centered family, a cheating self-centered fiancée, and an abusive manager but is balanced by the lightness provided by a precocious six-year-old and two small dogs. Although primarily a rocky romance the realistic characters and situations make this an enjoyable story with multiple heartwarming endings.
Loneliness, a strong attraction, and a grounded plane lead to a steamy one-night stand with wealthy Arthur Lee restaurant chain owner Grant Salinger which causes unexpected long-term changes in struggling Los Angeles journalism student Ada’s life.

Talk about one wild, emotional roller coaster. Ada and Grant met on a plane and then got stranded by a storm. One night of passion and then she snuck out not evening knowing his last name or where he lived. He only knew her 'fake name' which posed a problem when he tried to find her. They both remained in the back of each others mind. Fate brings them together seven years later when she's house sitting next door. He notices a precious little girl and is amazed at how much she looks like him and his mother. The chemistry is still there and he finds himself drawn to the precious Harper. But their relationship is a train wreck. They are both strong willed and she's so proud. She's had a hard time as a struggling single mom but finds it hard to accept his help. They both have trust issues and she is insecure in many ways. As soon as things start looking up she up and runs. The book is well written and it was easy to read in it one sitting. I found myself pulling for them to become a family as Harper so wanted a Dad. A good romance that I read as a free book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it. No cliffhanger and an HEA.
This is the 4th book in the Bosses and Babies series and what a delightfully sweet story we get. Seven years ago on her way home from the east coast back to the west coast she meets Grant on the plane he's her seat mate. When the plane gets diverted he books the last hotel room and being a gentleman he offers to share with her. We all know that one thing leads to another and they have sex but at least she's given him a fake name and when he wakes up in the morning she's gone even though he wanted to spend more time with her. Fast forward seven years and Ada is house/dog sitting in a swanky neighborhood with her daughter and guess who just happens to be her next door neighbor Grant. Ada tried to find him when she found out she was pregnant but all she had was his 1st name and that he's a businessman. Grant is in for the shock of his life when he sees Rochelle/Ada next door with a little girl. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. I will say that you need to read this book to see what happens.

'Boss Daddy' by Crystal Monroe is the fourth book in her Bosses and Babies series and tells the story of Ada, a single mother, and Grant, her temporary neighbor. Ada and Grant met on a flight from Philadelphia to Los Angeles that had to stop off in Kansas City due to bad weather. They had hit it off on the plane, ended up sharing a hotel room and having a passionate night. Fast forward seven years and Ada is a single mother struggling to raise her daughter, Harper, taking any job she can find. While house sitting Ada discovers that Grant is her next door neighbor. They are both surprised to find out their old seatmates are now neighbors and that the attraction is still there but Ada still has a delivery to tell Grant about.
Ms. Monroe has written a compelling addition to her series. The chemistry between Ada and Grant was still strong. Harper was a delightful bonus to the story. This story has drama, secrets, laughs, deceit, passion, and love. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of drama with their romance.

Ok not my favorite in this series. Honestly this book could be really confusing since they said kanas city and Philadelphia like what city is it but that’s the only confusing part and the other thing I didn’t like it didn’t explain more about Ada story and why she use the fake name and why she didn’t talk to her sister it was like her story was non existent and grants was non existent it mostly focus on the present and don’t get me wrong I love the present but it wouldn’t hurt to get more information or intel but anyways would I recommend this no I won’t I think this book will make people leave due to the confusing but would I recommend this series yes I definitely would and would every book be great no but it will have a good story just stuff you probably wish it has or something that won’t confuse you and p.s. my favorite book in this series so far is my boss pretend wife by far the best in this series and that book was definitely a recommendation. Hopefully the last book in this series make it up there in my rating but we will see by tonight if not you will know by tomorrow.
Their Unexpected Second Chance With A Surprise - The first meeting between Grant and Ada was confrontational, but it soon levelled out after they went through a hair-raising event together. The adrenaline from their joint encounter, gave them the courage to let their hair down for one night of uncomplicated fun, which unbeknownst to them, would linked them together forever. Fate brought them back into each other’s lives and set them on a bumpy road filled with steamy encounters, stubbornness, misunderstandings, insecurities and secrets, that finally ended in a wonderful happy ending.
I was hooked on this sweet and emotional second chance, secret baby romance story from the beginning until the end. Their chemistry was of-the-charts hot and the back and forth between them, made the story truly entertaining and a definite must read. You will absolutely love reading it and have fun doing so too.

Ada and Grant meet when they are both returning home from separate trips. Ada doesn't like how he acts towards her so she gives him a fake name. When their plane has to land due to bad weather things heat up between them. Ada disappears on Grant the next morning but he has never forgotten her. Years go by and Ada is struggling as a single mom when she runs into Grant when she is working a house sitting job. He takes one look at her daughter and knows that she is his daughter. Its not long before he finds a way into their world and they try to find a way to work through things. However miscommunication is an issue for them and has Ada running from him again. Will Grant be able to convince her to take a chance on him? Can they get their second chance?
This is an amazing story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Everything after their one night stand was stupid. She is critical of him for not giving his full name so that she could find him later, but she gave him a fake name and left him without leaving contact info. She wishes he were present so he could shoulder some of the responsibility of parenting, but then she blocks him from helping or providing basic necessities for her or the kid. She gets mad at him for not taking her word over someone he has known longer , but then she believes a lie about him after a 10sec convo his ex. And the biggest contradiction, she does was to let him be a part the kids life cause she wants assurances that he won’t leave and that he will basically be a stable fixture, but she runs at the first sign of trouble, disregards the damage of ripping the kid from the dad she just met and moves clear across the country to live with a sister she hadn’t talk to in 3years and treated her like shit for “new family” prior to that. I couldn’t finish the book. It was just too stupid and contradictory.
Ada is coming from Philadelphia back home to LA. She was at her sister’s wedding, they use to be close but after their parents died in a car accident they had drifted apart. One flight was canceled and she almost missed the other because she fell asleep. If it hadn’t been for the mother asking her to remove the phallic shaped hat from her head Ada would have missed her flight. Ada found out she was flying first class and the handsome man sitting next to her was kind of rude. Grant owns Arthur Lee restaurants based in LA. Grant has been visiting his best friend Lucas in Philly. The flight was held up for the woman who is next to him. She is beautiful. The flight has a lot of turbulence and Ada, she told Grant her name was Rochelle, grabbed ahold of Grant’s arm. The flight was sent to land in Kansas City because of storms. Grant got a room in a hotel, one of the last. He offered to let Rochelle share with him. Ada agreed to share a room.
Adaline Jones, goes to Philadelphia for her sister Nicole's wedding. On the flight back to LA she meets a gorgeous but irritating separate Grant. After their flight has to make an emergency landing in Kansas City they spend the night together. She gave him a fake name, Rochelle.
Seven years later, Ada and her 6 year old daughter Harper are house and dog sitting for a month in a ritzy neighborhood. Her next door neighbor turns out to be Grant. Grant Salinger owns a restaurant chain and is quite wealthy. Ada tells Grant about his daughter and he is thrilled though angry he had to miss so many childhood memories. The two begin dating and he offers her a social media management job in his company. Their relationship is almost tanked by a co-worker and his ex fiancee but they get their HEA in the end.

A chance encounter leads to an unexpected pregnancy and a reunion years later. Grant & Ada meet on a plane and have a steamy night together when their flight has to make an unexpected stopover due to bad weather. The reader is lulled into thinking this will just be a one-night stand for both of them, especially as Ada gives Grant a fake name. I enjoyed the fact that the story then jumps six years, to older and wiser versions of the main characters. There is sense of mystery and a teasing trope of whether fate will cross their paths again. Ada engenders the sympathy of the reader as she is evicted from her apartment and is obviously on the poverty line trying to raise her daughter as a single parent. Grant has been disappointed in love, but has never forgotten his encounter years before. I loved the way fate takes a hand and places Ada & her cute daughter in Grant’s orbit. I did want to bang both their heads together at points in the story, buy that added to the enjoyment.
This is my first book by this author that I have read, and I must say it captivated me from start to finish. It keeps your attention on the story. This is the story of Grant and Ada. They meet on the plane and that is also the start of their journey.
After a layover because he had to interrupt his journey back to California and they spend a hot and passionate night together, Grant wakes up alone and Ada is nowhere to be found.
When they meet again after a few years, Grant finds out that he is a father. Will they find each other again or will the secrets between their existence remain. The story contains chemistry and passion, but also sadness, misunderstandings and uncertainties.
The characters and characters are wonderfully described just like the structure of this story. If you want to know more then I advise you to read this story!!!!
I received an advanced copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Having attended her sister’s wedding, Ada was flying home when her flight is unexpectedly diverted to another airport due to bad weather. Grant, a businessman, offers to let her share his hotel room since he apparently got the last room available.
Ada and Grant spend the night together and she quietly leaves in the morning without have any contact information for Grant. She had also given him a false name, so neither could contact the other. It turns out that was not a good decision when she found out that she was now pregnant.
Ada has been having a hard time getting by. She took a temporary job house-sitting and caring for a dog sitting for a month and finds out that her neighbor was Grant! Will he notice how much Ada’s little girl, Harper, looks like him? Does he still want to have a relationship with Ada and to get to know his daughter, Harper? Can the two find their HEA at last?
