A great, informative book about the 5 oceans. Not only does it discuss each ocean’s location, but it also talks about the oceans as habitats and the animals they house.

I do not enjoy shine-a-light book, but the information in this one makes up for that. Highly recommend.

The illustrations in this are completely fantastic. It's the level of art where I would put it on my wall (you know, if you didn’t have to shine a light to see the animals). The colors and textures are so perfect — the Great Barrier Reef is especially beautiful. I love looking at this one.

The text is good too — easy to read and educational at the right level. I really liked some of the details they chose to share. It goes through Earth’s different oceans, starting with the Arctic Ocean and ending in the Pacific — and my only complaint with this book is that a couple of times it assumes you remember what you read on the previous page, saying “in this ocean” instead of specifying which one it’s referring to, and so occasionally I found myself changing the words so the littles could more easily categorize the information. But, really, if they read the book 100 times like they always want to with Shine-a-Light books, they’d figure it out and it’s not really a problem, it’s just me being persnickety.

All in all, I highly recommend this educational picture book.

What a neat book! You can use a flashlight to shine through the page and see hidden images from both sides, combining them into one!

It's too long for a baby/toddler storytime. An older group could maybe sit long enough, or find ways to shorten the text, you don't have to read all the extra information or paperclip a few pages to shorten.

I think elementary kids would love it. Or one one-on-one reading in bed using the flashlight method to see the "hidden images."

An informative book in an unusual interactive format. Hold a light up to the pages and see more of the picture.

What a fun way to learn about oceans. It has fun hidden pictures and beautiful illustrations. Provides fun facts about each ocean, the plant & animal life in it and what countries it borders.

My 6 year old daughter LOVES to shine the flashlight through the pages and see the animals. A bit long, but great animal facts.
