I spent most of my adult life building up my reputation. Clawing my way up from the bottom, working my ass off to be considered as good as the men that I worked with. Boston was my home, and being a homicide detective was my life. Until that very way of life was threatened. Everything that I had worked for was suddenly tossed aside as if it were nothing, and I was forced to put my life and career on hold. But things aren't always what they seem. If my superior thinks that I'll take this new 'assignment' lying down, he's got another thing coming.

First 50% - 5 stars The suspense, mysteries and they way they were spinning my mind by the manner the story was told ...it was such an anticipation filled high. I was holding my breath for something to go wrong at the next moment because everything was so filled with tension and caution. I loved the first half of this book and I LOVED Austin and Sloan together. Austin (who definitely had bipolar if you ask me😋) made this whole book enjoyable with his ice cold quips and sarcastic attitude. The enemies to frenemies relationship that they both had was so fun to read.
The second half- 3 stars
The mystery was dialed down a lot in the second half which was Not appreciated. I loved Enzo but him along with Sloan made this part very sappy and fluffy (including the whole marriage and house stuff). Plus, I hated what happened to Austin here💔
