Works of fiction are stories or settings that are derived from an author’s imagination, and are not based strictly on recorded history or facts. A fiction work is a creative act of worldbuilding, and its readership does not generally expect it to be a faithful reflection of the real world by presenting only characters who are actual people or story lines that are factually correct. There are numerous fictional genres, including: Tragedy, Tragic comedy, Fantasy, Mythology, Adventure, Mystery, Science fiction, Drama, Romance, Action / Adventure, Satire, and Horror.
