The tropes for Protected by the Sinner hooked me—I'm a sucker for age gaps and accidental pregnancies yall, what can I say? However, this unfortunately just didn't hit in the way I was hoping.

Lemoyne — and now I definitely need to go back and read Book 1! 📚💥 This story is well-written, action-packed, and full of twists that had me completely hooked. The pacing is fast, the plot is intense, and the emotional tension had me gripping my chair! 😱💥
Beau and Amber? Whew. These two are walking trauma wrapped in sex appeal and danger! 😈🔥 Their chemistry is raw, magnetic, and authentic. Their banter made me laugh, but it's their emotional connection that truly pulled me in. I loved how Beau gives Amber the love, protection, and safety she’s never had and she gives him a reason to care 💘🛡️They're absolutely feral for each other — and yes, it ends with a perfect HEA! 💍💕

Wow, what an intense reading experience!
The first half of the book was kinda slow but after that boom boom boom, it was escalating so fast and high until the end of the book.
I met Amber at the end of the first book and automatically raised my anticipation for her book. But I didn't expect the author would take her story even more intensely than the first book. I can't say much because I don't want to give a spoiler. Just pick up this book and go blind. But please read the trigger warnings and take them seriously because your mental health is important.
Like I said earlier, the second half of the book was full of twists. I didn't expect there would be layers upon layers of twists. It was disturbing to say the least but definitely intense and gripping as the story continued.
The 300++ pages seemed like nothing because of how enthralling the story was. I really can't say much because I would end up spoiling this amazing book. Trust me and read this book.
I am already so invested in this series I can't wait for the next book(s) even though as I wrote this review, this book hasn't released yet. Even so because at the end of the book, the sneak peak of the next book(s) already piqued my full attention. I would be refreshing the author's Instagram account the moment this book release so I would miss the announcement regarding this series next book(s).

“He knows she’s lying, and still, he can’t stop wanting her.” This should have been the quote that warned me exactly how this book was going to play out. But I didn’t expect it to happen right from the very beginning.
We learn early on that Beau is a very rich and powerful man. We also learn that he’s not exactly the nicest man. He lives in a world full of evil - both one he grew up in and the life he chose to live. He doesn’t trust anyone, doesn’t give second chances, and takes out anyone who double crosses him.
Until Amber.
Amber comes into his life and changes EVERYTHING he’s ever known. What started out as a lie and a way for her to free her sister from her captors turns into love at first sight and the fight of their lives. I was loving everything about this book until Amber’s accident. And then I didn’t love it as much. I was not a fan of the plot twist and thought I was going to DNF the book UNTIL Elodie and Amos came into the picture and then I fell in love all over again!! The way their family all reconnected, the way they all protected each other, and seeing the entire story play out, secrets and all, was totally worth pushing through the frustrating part of the book.
And the ending? SWOON!!

This is the second book in this impressive series, and this is Beau and Amber’s story.
Beau is a ruthless, dangerous, and possessive crime lord, which Amber is a feisty survivor who will do whatever she must to protect the family she has left. Beau and Amber are both haunted by their pasts.
No spoilers this is a must read!
This is a well written action-packed story, with family, friendships, emotions, trust issues, loyalty, forced proximity, strangers / lovers, touch her and die vibes, surprises, vengeance, an age gap, morally gray, devotion, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable, addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Absolutely loved this!!
This is the second installment in The Sinner’s Touch Series and it was absolutely AMAZINNG!!
This was explosive as it builds on gritty, emotionally charged foundation of its predecessor while introducing a new power couple whose chemistry that I devoured.
Beau LeBlanc is the kind of anti hero who commands attention who is also a crime lord. His presence dominates every scene and it was *chefs kiss*
Amber Martin is equally compelling. She’s not a damsel in distress but a survivor with fire in her veins.
I absolutely loved both characters and I enjoyed them both so much. Their chemistry was off the charts and I absolutely devoured this book

Loved the book!
I almost gave this a 4 out of 5 stars because the ending felt a bit too fast-paced; everything started happening all at once. I don’t think I’ll be reading the 3rd book, but I’m DEFINITELY picking up the 4th one when it comes out in December! Can’t wait for Elodie’s story!! <3

I loved Beau as the possessive, protective morally gray crime boss. Amber is threatened with her sister's life and made to get close with Beau. Beau realizes she isn't really who she said she was but she's so seductive he can't stay away from her. Their chemistry is fire. I loved this couple, their back and forth banter was fun to read. I am really loving this series and all of this author's books I've read. She is an amazing storyteller. Definitely recommend reading it.

An impressive read that had me hooked from the first chapter. From one page to the next this author built up an incredible storyline with wonderful characters. Beau and Amber were the perfect duo. These two work so well together. I just loved their connection and chemistry, it's raw and real. Overall, I really liked the premise of this book and the way it unraveled all these details that eventually led up to the perfect ending.

Meeting Beau was only supposed to be a one time thing, having been sent by the people who have her sister. Little did Amber know, though, that meeting was meant to be, and she sealed the deal the first time they laid eyes on each other. Now she belongs to a morally gray crime lord, and she doesn't even care he's got so much darkness in him. But beneath that darkness, she can see the heart he really only shows her, and she's fallen hard for him. He's possessive, ruthless, and a criminal, but he loves her and will burn down the world to save her.
Beau never reacts to women the way he is to Amber. He doesn't even care that he knows she's hiding something from him. He doesn't care what her hidden agenda is, she belongs to him now. Even when she defies him, lies to him, he still knows she belongs to him. But it's when something horrible happens that he realizes the true extent of his feelings for her. He can only hope Amber will accept all of him, won't run away when he reveals the extent of his darkness to her.
I remember being very interested in Amber at the end of The Sinner's Desire, and her story did not disappoint in any way. She's a strong survivor with a horrible past, making her the perfect partner for Beau, who has his own equally horrible past, causing him immense amount of pain that manifested in awful ways. Thank God fate brought the two together, and they became each other's safe, calming spaces, became each other's everything. I really like this dark-ish series, the alpha, morally gray men and the women who bring them to their knees - Amber and Beau are a great addition to this dark-ish world with their smokin' hot chemistry, and intense emotional connection that deepens with every page. I'm really excited to read Amber's sister's story, coming soon, now.

I loved when a morally grey hero falls hard for the heroine and is soft only for her.
Beau is that man. He's a man whose heart is a cold block of ice. He has few friends and has devoted his adult life to getting revenge of the one behind the murder of his family. He has a reputation for being a playboy. He's never formed any meaning emotional connection to a woman before and doesn't see that changing any time soon.
When he meets Amber, he knows she's been sent as bait and/or a distraction but he's so drawn to her that he doesn't care. Instead he sets out to keep her close while also unraveling why and who sent her to him.
Amber has her own reasons for getting involved with Beau and cooperating with his enemies by staying close to him. The mystery behind her past was also something that snagged my attention, almost immediately.
The story overall is a good one but the constant time jumps from days, to weeks and months became a little too much for me. I wanted to experience their time together not just snippets in their timeline.
It's hard to fall for a love with characters when you only get some of their story. There was also a lot happening all at once with not only the MCs but the side characters as well. The amnesia plot twist was also unexpected. Things got a little stunted after that with the characters all doing very quick changes of heart.
In the end, I was left with a lot of facts stated about their feelings but very little experiencing it first hand. Amber was a sweet heroine but her personality goes through a change from how she presented herself to Beau when they first met to how she was after she lost her memories. I was left wondering if Beau was so accepting of basically a completely different woman then the one he was falling for before the big revelation. That was something I wish we'd gotten to explore in their story instead of rushing everything quickly to tie all the loose ends.
It can be read as a stand alone but I would recommend reading the first book as there are several cameos of other characters that might be confusing to follow without their backstories.

I've said it once and I'll say it a thousand more times - if there's an age gap, I'm going to read it! So this was an automatic yes to read. Plus, with an MMC named Beau Carmouche-LeBlanc, how could I say no? Spoiler alert: I couldn't.
If you like a walk on the darker side of romance, this book is going to be for you. Beau is a crime lord in New Orleans, working on annihilating his enemies. Amber has taken on another identity to protect herself and save the only family she has left, her sister. Both Amber and Beau have awful and traumatizing pasts and neither trusts people. Despite all of this, there's a current between the two of them that neither of them can resist. Beau knows Amber is lying about who she is, and Amber knows Beau is a walking dangerous red flag.
The plot is gripping with twists and its fast pace. If that doesn't keep then Beau's filthy mouth surely will along with Amber sticking it to him every opportunity she gets. I'd say more but I don't want to give away the plot!
As a standalone, it did feel like reading book no. 1, while not necessary, should have been heavily recommended in order to understand Beau's background more. I have not read book no. 1 so there were a few things that confused me. Additionally, the pace did feel off in a few places despite its fast speed. Overall, it was enjoyable and I will probably stick with this series!

We finally get to know Beau’s story and boy it’s a doozy one. He and Amber have both endured traumatic childhoods, which have made them skeptical, cynical, stubborn, and wary of trusting people easily. His childhood trauma turned Beau into a ruthless, dangerous, and intelligent businessman who puts a fake persona to hide his true nature. Amber is a survivor. She is resilient, strong and capable of getting out of the worst situations. Amber and Beau have complicated relationship from the rstart as they both have difficulty in trusting and opening up to one another. In the beginning, their relationship is purely based on lust and sexual attraction but as they spend more time in each other’s company, they slowly start to connect on deeper level. Beau has definitely mastered “Touch Her and Die” attitude down to the T when it comes to Amber. When truth comes to light and secrets are revealed, things take a turn for worst before they finally settle down. Beau and Amber for sure deserve a loving and caring family and they succeed in achieving just that in the end. I really like that POVs of side characters were added along with the main characters which made the story more interesting. D. A. Lemoyne has always excelled in crafting suspenseful and enigmatic elements in her stories, and this story is no exception.

Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the writing. It felt very rushed. It felt choppy. For me, this book started out slowly. I didn’t really feel that instant connection between the characters that they both talked about feeling. Yes, Beau thought Amber was hot and wanted to have sex with her, but he was so hot and cold towards her.
Beau grew up with an abusive father. He adored his mother and was loved by her, but his world came crashing down when she revealed a secret to him. As an adult, he’s a powerful billionaire. Clubs and houses in cities all over, and he’s involved in organized crime. The moment he saw Amber, he was attracted to her, but he could also tell that she wasn’t being truthful with her motives for approaching him at his club. For me, I really started living with Beau after Amber recovered from the accident. Before the accident, they fought all the time. That’s when he really let his protectiveness for her come out and he would burn the world for her.
Amber had escaped from a Cult and was on the run. She never stayed in one place long. Once Beau set his eyes on her, he wasn’t going to let her go. Even when she ran from him. Amber’s storyline with the Cult and the Romani culture, being a part of her culture through her mother, was interesting. This was the first book I’ve read that had an amnesia storyline. I did kind of like that aspect because it gave Beau and Amber a chance to almost start over. I liked Amber’s sister, Elodie, and her brother, Amos. This book really picked up after the accident and when Amos showed up.

Protected by the Sinner is the second book in The Sinner's Touch series, it's a stand alone darkish mafia romance. The story is fast paced with a morally gray crime lord who will unalive enemies to protect his sassy independent lady love. There is a 13 year age gap, a billionaire with a dark past, a hidden identity for the heroine, no cheating, no OW drama and a HEA. My rating is a strong 4.5 stars and I will be continuing with this series.

This is book two in the The Sinner’s Touch series, and I was hooked from the very first chapter. I read this in one sitting. After meeting Beau in the previous series, I could not wait to see him get his story, and it was everything I hoped for.
Beau is a mysterious billionaire known as the King of the Night, and few know who he really is or what he’s been through. He keeps everyone at arm’s length and doesn’t let people in. Amber has been through so much herself and is only trying to survive long enough to save the only family she has left. From the moment they meet, their connection is explosive, even though neither of them trusts easily.
Their chemistry was magnetic, and I loved watching them slowly let down their walls. The tension, the secrets, and the way they challenged each other had me flipping pages like crazy. Beau was everything I wanted him to be, and Amber was such a strong, resilient character who refused to give up. Together, they were the perfect mix of fierce and vulnerable, and their journey had me completely wrapped up in their world.

I went in blind but I loved the tropes of this book so I was really intrigued.
I think the whole idea of the book is great. What happens when the girl sent to spy on the billionaire dark businessman steals his heart even though he knows she’s hiding something.
Amber had a realllly dark past. She was tortured by it her whole like but I think finding Beau brought her some peace in safety. She did go back and forth on her feelings a bit too easily, she loved him but never trusted him which to me is the whole premise of loving someone. She also went from strong and fierce to uncertain very quickly. I would have loved her to give him a bit more fire and push back.
Beau had a similar troubled past as Amber but he was burning the world down to right what happened to him. I liked his mentor that was a special relationship as they really saw each other. I would have loved a bit more chemistry with Amber. I wanted really growly protective vibes but when it got to that he shut down and went distant.
Again really good plot point but I think the main characters just needed some tweaks

He is only merciful to the few he knows and merciless to his enemies and also the greatest danger and safe place for Amber. Amber is fierce and tries to seduce. She will stop at nothing to protect the ones she loves and that also means lying or doing things she shouldn‘t be doing. She and Beau can‘t stop the chemistry between each other even though they‘re not looking for a HEA. He becomes her protector and their desire for each other their greatest salvation, but also a risk. I like how he took it upon himself to protect and help her and the tension between them.
This book is a dark ride full of angst, crime, suspense and tension. It‘s definitely not for those that don‘t like this genre or tropes.

Beau and Amber both had horrible upbringings that left them with demons that still haunt them. When fight or flight kicks in, Beau runs towards his looking slay every last one while Amber runs from hers to no avail. Their paths cross when Amber is tasked to get close to Beau in order to save her sister. Beau knows she lying and hiding things but can't bring himself to care. Amber is trying to keep her secrets hidden and her heart hardened with little luck. When truths are revealed, Amber lays herself at Beau’s mercy, hoping he won't let her down. He doesn't, he does one better. Beau helps out her demons to rest, giving her safety, security, freedom and an amazing HEA she didn't see coming.

September 17, 2025Protected by the Sinner is the second story in The Sinner's Touch series. It is a stand-alone so you don't have to read the previous story. The story is well-written and suspenseful.
Beau is a billionaire who owns a club. He meets Amber when she comes into the club and is immediately attracted to her. He never lets anyone hang around but he enjoys spending time with her. She has to go to the club to seduce Beau in order to save her family. She is a strong and independent woman who has relied on herself and her sister to survive.
Beau has also had a troubled past. He has fought his way through it to become successful. He doesn't trust Amber but doesn't care. He wants her anyway. A very enjoyable read.

She has to go to the club to seduce Beau in order to save her family. She is a strong and independent woman who has relied on herself and her sister to survive.
Beau has also had a troubled past. He has fought his way through it to become successful. He doesn't trust Amber but doesn't care. He wants her anyway. A very enjoyable read.

I swear my love for this author and her books just keeps growing. I have wanted Beau's story since I read her book All For Her Forgiveness. I was instantly intrigued by Beau and couldn't wait for his story. I was not disappointed in the least. Even though he knew Amber was lying and had a hidden agenda, they had an instant connection. It took them a while to give into their connection but it was worth the wait. Amber is hiding a lot of secrets but in her defense its to protect herself and those around her. Beau proves himself to be not only a great partner but also her protector. He gives her everything she ever needed in her life. She is a simple woman who wants simple things. Beau makes sure to be that stable and safe space. I cannot wait for more books in this series. The author does a fantastic job at character and story development. She keeps you engaged and wanting more.

I enjoyed the first book, but this one completely stole my heart. From the very first chapter, I was hooked and couldn’t put it down.

I received this ARC for my honest opinion. Protected by the Sinner by D.A. Lemoyne is a captivating read. Beau and Amber’s story is that of danger, mystery and love. Beau has only known pain since he was a kid and rules his kingdom with an iron fist. Beau has a crazy need for control in every aspect of his life. Then Amber walks in. Amber has been running most of her life and has survived. She does what she needs to, to protect her family she has left. She is very passionate, opinionated and will do what it takes. They both do not trust anyone. This book was definitely a great read. I had a hard time putting the book down because I wanted to know what happens next. This is the 2nd book in the series. I would recommend checking it out. I am excited for book 3.
