Join Agent Stitch, the world's greatest alien detective, on his first hilarious mission to stop the evil Snailien invaders! Stitch is good at sniffing out a lot of things…including trouble! After the events of Lilo and Stitch, paranormal mysteries start popping up across the globe. The United Galactic Federation reluctantly assigns the only alien they know up for the task: Experiment 626. Now, Agent Stitch and his friends are sent off to Paris to uncover the disappearance of one of the federations best operatives, Cobra Bubbles, and rumors of a snail-like aliens known as Snailiens spotted in the city.
Will Stitch be able to solve this out-of-this world mystery? Or will he find himself caught in a situation stickier than Snailien slime?
Pleakley gets a call from the grand councilwoman. Cobra Bubbles has been working for the GDA (Galactic Detective Agency) and he has recently noticed suspicious alien activity in Paris. Unfortunately, they can’t reach Cobra Bubbles anymore and they don’t have any real evidence that the snail aliens are doing something wrong.
Someone needs to find out what the snail aliens are planning and, if necessary, stop them. There’s no one better suited for this job than Stitch, since he’s indestructible and he’s conveniently already on Earth. Stitch gladly agrees to become a detective, to show everyone that he is more than the little engine of destruction that could. And Lilo offers to be his assistant.
While I’m not in the target audience for this book, I was curious about how this book would continue the story, as this book is set after the ending of the first movie. The good ending from the original movie that is, not the horrible ending from the live action remake.
This book does a lot of things right. The characters properly feel like the characters from the original movie. Stitch has a simple but good character arc. The story captures a bit of the charm and playfulness of the original movie. It’s the perfect light mix of comedy and mystery for kids. The illustrations work together with the text in a really smooth way. The Paris setting is used well. We start at the Louvre. We even go to the opera house, where the Phantom of the Opera is referenced. There honestly isn’t a lot to criticize about this one. This is just a really fun book for Lilo & Stitch fans.
I’ll admit I’m an absolute sucker for anything Lilo and Stitch. So when my parents gave this to me, I was thrilled, even though I’m probably not the age range this book is targeting. I read it in one sitting and it was adorable!!! Stitch and his friends go on a mission to save the world from evil slime!!!
They go across the world in an RV and find clues to be great detectives and Stitch learns a lot about himself along the way. I love this book because it fits with the movie perfectly. This takes place after the dust settles and Stitch has been left on Earth in the care of Nani and Lilo. The author takes into consideration Stitch’s abilities and personality. The characters all act like how I would imagine them to act. Which makes for a very enjoyable little book!!
I recommend this to Stitch lovers everywhere and also to kiddos who like detective books. This is a cute one!!
Needed something cute and fluffy (hehe) to pull me out of my reading slump, and this fun little book absolutely did the trick! Am I completely out of the recommended age range? Obviously. But when has that ever stopped me from reading some fun little kids' books? (Never.)
Despite being a bit old for this kinda book, I still thought it was a fun read. It serves as a great follow-up to Lilo & Stitch (the animated film, since this book is from 2022, way before the new one probably even began production) with some excellent Stitch introspection. His journey to being a more well-rounded alien rather than a destructive being continues, and it's really sweet. You can't help but root for the little guy as he tries to prove himself as a good space detective. And of course, he's got Lilo with him, along with Jumba and Pleakley, and who doesn't love this wonderful little found family? I do kind of wish Nani had been part of the adventure too, but the whole trope of the mission being a complete secret from her is cute. It's been done plenty of times before, but it's still enjoyable. I know the series continues into at least two more books (with maybe more on the way?), so hopefully they find a way to incorporate Nani into future missions.
Also, I thought the fourth wall-breaking writing style was very fun. I could clearly hear the narrator's voice in my head, almost like the ones in those "How Not to Draw" shorts from Disney Channel. It was a great way to keep the story moving and throw in some extra comedic moments.
I almost envy Behling for getting paid to write these silly, fun IP-based kinds of books. Sounds like a dream gig for an author. (Or, at least one that helps pay the bills while working on original ideas on the side... Man, I wish I had that job.)
What I enjoyed about this book: - The characterizations of Lilo, Stitch, and Jumba. - The acknowledgement of canon information from the series, i.e. Jumba and Pleakley's home planet names, the existence of the other 625 experiments, and the fact that Pleakley's first name is Wendy.
What I didn't enjoy about this book: - The lack of Nani. - The disrespect for Pleakley's gender and presentation. Anyways, the narration often mocked Pleakley, and it especially mocked Pleakley for liking to wear wigs and present as female. There was a weird extended bit about the wig where the book acted like Pleakley only had one wig (not true, even in the first movie Pleakley has two) and had a comedy bit about Pleakley being overly attached to the wig and to presenting as female. As Pleakley's gender and presentation is treated with respect in most Lilo and Stitch media, with the joke being "haha this one eyed boneless green-skinned alien thinks they can pass as a human," this completely blindsided me. - Cobra Bubbles working for the UGF instead of continuing to be a social worker felt like a misunderstanding of his character. Him being a social worker is important. Even if he occasionally works with the government on alien stuff, that isn't his main job, it's just a side thing.
This book would be rated much higher if not for the Pleakley thing. Although I enjoyed the book while reading it, the bits mocking Pleakley's gender presentation made me wildly uncomfortable as a transgender person myself.
this was way more exciting than I thought. First, I thought it a little kids picture book where Stitch was invading Disney World like Where's Waldo kind of story. but When I read It, it was about him becoming a detective globe-trotting parts of the world investigating Alien Invaders w/ help from Lilo, Jumba, Pleakley and Bubbles. And that type of plot peaked my interest.
I really enjoyed this book as i was laughing out load whilst reading it. I liked the characters in this book especially Stitch. The story was so fast paced and so very well told. I liked how the author told the story and kept the readers interested so much the illustrations in this book were done so so well. I throughly enjoyed my time reading this book xxx
I LOVE Stitch so when I bought this I was super excited to read it but when I started it I got sad that I wouldn’t have another Agent/Detective Stitch book to read so I didn’t pick it back up until today & im so glad I did because it was so comforting now i can read it when i can’t watch the movies
I enjoyed reading this book. I'm a big fan of the original movie and series. You'll find a lot of the same quirky humor and character antics from Lilo and Stitch: The Series. So if you enjoyed the original series, you'll love this book.
This was a fun read where Stitch becomes a Detective for the Intergalactic Agency. Gave me Scooby-Doo vibes in all the best ways. This is also a mixed-media book so would be great for more reluctant readers.
Słuchała z uwagą i sama prosiła o dalsze czytanie. To, w mojej ocenie, jest najlepszą recenzją.
If you’re a lover of Lilo & Stitch, this is the perfect novel for you. The characters all sound like they do in the movies and the illustrations are spot on!

Agent Stitch, reads like an episode of the animated TV show. If you love Lilo and Stitch or know a child who loves Lilo and Stitch then you should check out this story.

WAOUH!
