Wow!! This was such an emotional read! I can’t thank @readforeverpub enough for sending this my way. The last time I got this emotional was Firefly Lane… so yes… I ugly cried. 😭😭😭

“This is not a typical love story, but it’s our love story.”

OMGGG my heart.❤️ So I knew I was in for it when I read the amazing reviews.

Anna and Adam met by chance… a whirlwind romance… 💍 they vow it is forever…

Yet…. years later they find themselves bickering and a bit bitter… they know they have to do something to mend… yet… everything is about to change….and Anna is devastated..🥺… Anna cried… I cried… we all did..😭Can this ever turn into a HEA?? That is Happily Ever After. 😉

I am completely emotionally drained after reading this… this book destroyed me…and you know it is a good thing when an author can do that to you!!! ❤️

I didn’t realize going in that Amelia Henley …is also Louise Jensen 😳🤫…I have read two of her thrillers and loved them both!!! ❤️

Again thank you for this absolutely stunning gifted copy @readforeverpub !!🥰

❤️❤️ Have you read this one?? What is the last book that made you ugly cry?? I rarely cry over a book so…you know this was good!

This brilliant, amazing, life-affirming book will warm your heart and break it many times... It has everything - engaging characters and relatable themes - love, loss and friendship, realistically depicting the ebb and flow of love that can happen over time in any relationship.
I don't want to give anything away but this is so much more than a love story, with a completely unexpected twist. Highly recommended.

Tissues at the ready!!
The Life We Almost Had is not your typical love story. With a prologue written in the voice of Anna, seven years after her relationship with Adam, this is a love story that will make you laugh, make you smile, make you rant at life’s injustices, make you think and make you cry.
If you’re a hopeless romantic, the beginning of Anna and Adam’s story will satisfy your belief in love at first sight as they meet in a holiday resort where the sun shines, the sea is sparkling and life is for living. They make an adorable couple and you can’t help hoping this is a match made in heaven, maybe even envious that they are fortunate to have found their happy ever after.
Fast forward a few years and Anna and Adam could be any married couple. Just as it is easy to fall head over heels in love, so it is equally easy to fall out of love. Life is full of ups and downs and through the characters of Anna and Adam, the author is able to explore and tackle some hefty topics. Grief, loss, infertility, the desperation of wanting something so badly that is just outside of your grasp are all emotions and problems our lovebirds encounter. But it is the idea of letting go of a loved one and with them all your hopes and dreams that evoke the strongest emotions. I felt like I was experiencing all the highs and lows alongside Anna and Adam as life deals them the worst possible deck of cards. Can their love stand the test of time? Read on but be prepared for some heart wrenching emotion as you immerse yourself in their lives.

The concept of state of the art technology allowing individuals to connect with a loved one’s consciousness in their final days is the thought provoking angle in this bittersweet novel. The idea that we could have the opportunity for one more hour, one more day with a loved one, tapping into their mind, and experiencing all their thoughts and feelings, hopes and dreams sounds like a chance we’d willingly grab. Think about it for any length of time and the moral implications of such technology are impossible to ignore. It’s also a reminder to cherish the time we have with loved ones whilst we can and don’t hold back when it comes to difficult conversations.

I think you can tell the author is a master of the psychological thriller because there is definitely tension in some of the writing, which took me by surprise. It’s at this point in the narrative that my heart was in conflict with my head. I knew which direction Anna and Adam’s story was taking them but my heart was telling me to slam on the brakes and derail them down another path. Wishful thinking on my part I know!

I loved that Anna and Adam had two fantastic witnesses to their love in the form of Nell, Anna’s best friend and Josh, a brother like figure to Adam. Friends like these are worth their weight in gold as is Oliver, but for very different reasons. I also loved all the little details that add up to make Anna and Adam’s love story unique to them, like the watch and the coin. We all at some point have trinkets or mementos that hold sentimental value of a past love and our fictional pair are no different. It’s these extras that enhance the story and make you forget these characters exist only in the author’s imagination.

Approaching the end I felt emotionally wrung out, chiding myself for shedding a bucketful of tears over a piece of fiction. I’m so glad I was alone reading the final pages because I was a mess!! Reading this felt akin to ripping off a plaster. You know it’s going to hurt and the longer you take the more pain you will feel but you have to do it!!! I can’t express how appreciative I am to have had the opportunity to read such a thought provoking love story. The balance between romance, sentimentality and realism is just about right. I will be recommending to fellow die hard romantics without a doubt.

The Life We Almost Had is a compelling beautiful love story that totally got under my skin. If you’ve read and loved Holly Miller’s The Sight of You then this is most definitely a book you’ll enjoy and remember. Although it only took me a few hours to read from beginning to end, Anna and Adam are characters that will remain in my mind for a long time to come. I eagerly anticipate book number two from an author whose writing has left such an impression on my heart.
My thanks as always to the publisher and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read.

What an absolutely wretched book. I’m sorry — I try not to be openly negative about most books I read, because I know an author has likely poured heart and soul into their writing. But this one simply demands my condemnation. Let me save you from wasting any of your time reading this.

It’s also pretty impossible for me to detail how bad this book was with no spoilers, so if for some reason you’re still inclined to read this book, I warn you that there will be spoilers below.

First off. An entire host of all the worst romance tropes. Insta love, fertility problems (not captured well, in my limited experience), miscommunication CONSTANTLY, and a male MC who completely drops his life and career dreams to hang around the house with his new girlfriend. BARF.

The timeline is incredibly confusing; months or years pass between chapters and it isn’t mentioned so you just sort of have to figure it out from the context of the current situation. Multiple chapters retell the exact same event/conversation through separate POVs that really don’t differ much — I absolutely hate that, what a waste of my time. SPEAKING OF THAT, 400 pages???? Why? Truthfully I wanted out of this book at the 50% mark and started speed reading to finish it.

I haven’t even gotten to the worst bits yet. Adam, our male protagonist with no personality, has a hero complex and is injured trying to save an old woman from a sinking yacht. He’s then comatose and given a 3% chance of recovering. Enter, I kid you not, a crack scientist who has invented a virtual reality goggle/headphone combo that allows you to enter the mind of the coma patient and experience what they’re seeing/feeling, potentially even interact with them. Excuse me? Is this sci fi? So of course, our girl Anna jumps on this — and when I say “jumps on this,“ what I mean is, deliberates about it for 20 fucking pages before finally, obviously, agreeing.

So these two live out “the life they almost had” with the baby that never miscarried and an Adam who never was injured and it is pure madness. The VR thing is slowly killing Anna so Adam decides to “let her go” and sacrifices himself during a VR session. And then MAGICALLY, Anna discovers a baby that was orphaned exactly that day and he is exactly the baby they had in their VR hallucination sessions. MADNESS.

The devil really is in the details for me though; at one point someone hung up on Anna (on her cell phone) and she heard a dial tone. Pardon? Does anyone hear a dial tone when a caller disconnects anymore?? Is that a British thing??? And also, Adam‘s parents were cold and callous, not coming to their only child’s wedding or FUNERAL. His mom wouldn’t even send baby photos. For no reason. That wasn’t addressed in the story at all really. They’re just bad parents. Huh?

All I can say is, don’t read this. Please. Make my sacrifice worth it.

Normally I would have DNFed this at around 35%, but I was obliged to finish it so I could fairly review it for the publisher. Unfortunately I found it very lacking, but I still appreciate Amelia Henley, Forever (GC Publishing), and NetGalley for providing me the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Anna was not looking for love on her honeymoon or honeymoon that is now a girl's holiday. Adam was visiting with his friend Josh. Anna and Adam instantly bound and are a great match. As life back home hits them some cracks start to form when life hits hard. Anna grew on me while I liked Adam from the off. It is cruel how life comes crashing down on the pair of them. I will be honest the brain science went over my head a little but it made an interesting read. I knew Adam was going to set Anna free but would always be with her. The second chance at love comes in Harry and I was not excepting it. Expect the unexpected in this read it will take you by surprise. It is more than a love story it is Anna and Adam's life and love story. 4.5 Stars

Without a doubt one of the most powerful love stories you will read this year.

When Anna and Adam meet for the first time, you can literally see the sparks fly. A chance meeting where the odds are against them but this reinforces what real love is all about. It maybe a love story but as with any relationship, it has it’s ups and downs and we get to ride along this bumpy journey of which smashed my heart into tiny little pieces.

I don’t want to give to much away but the author touches on some quite sensitive subjects which made it a hard read in places. My heart went out to Anna and all that she is going through. She was such a realistic character and I have a feeling that women that have been through similar to what she has will be able to relate to her.

Adam definitely stole a piece of my heart. His love for Anna put my heart through the wringer. He is such the sweetest of characters of which at times I felt for this sensitive man who at times has to bear the brunt of his wife’s frustrations. I felt empathy for both of them. Even though their close friends Nell and Josh are in the background throughout, they play such a pivotal part in the story.

The Life We Almost Had is a story that broke me as well as my heart. I read the last part of the book through tears and heart wrenching sobs. For an author to grab my emotions in such a way is testament to what a wonderful writer they are. This is a love story and characters who will stay with me for a very long time. Heart-breakingly beautiful.

My thanks to Anne Cater for inviting me to be part of the blog tour. My thanks also to HQ Stories and NetGalley for a readers copy of the book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

I requested this book as an ARC on Netgalley and I was lucky enough to be sent it.
It was definitely different to what I imagined it to be but I couldn’t stop turning the pages.
Everyone wants love and a happy ending, will Adam and Anna become that old cliche or will something or someone snatch it away?

Rounded up to 4.5 stars.

I've been a huge fan of this author's psychological thrillers, penned under her own name, Louise Jensen. So although romance isn't generally my first go-to, when I discovered that Amelia Henley is the name she is using for this genre it immediately made me want to read it.

Yes, it is a romance, but it's a completely unpredictable one. We are teased for several chapters that something devastating is coming but I guarantee no one will guess what it turns out to be, or what happens next. If there's one thing I absolutely love in a book it is being surprised, when even my wildest guesses turn out to be wrong and I get that delicious feeling of walking blindfolded but with someone you trust leading the way. And that's how I felt reading this book.

I loved all the characters - Anna and Adam whose love story this book is about. Their ups and downs felt real and relatable; Nell and Josh, the kind of best friends we all wish we had in our lives; and Oliver with his own heartbreaking love story.

Highly recommend!

A completely original love story, so unique and addictive to read. I love the way each chapter ended in a mini cliffhanger so you always had to read the next, it was so hard to put this down. This is such an emotional rollercoaster of a read, the blurb doesn’t do it justice it’s heart wrenching at times and then laugh out loud, no spoilers though because I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone. Both Anna and Adam are perfect as characters, loved them so much and Adam has now set an ever higher target in the book boyfriend rankings. It’s just the perfect heartfelt romance, but not in the way you would expect, need to know why, pick it up and read it, you will not be disappointed.

One of my Favourite books for 2020

I went in blind to this book, knowing only that it was a love story so I was unprepared for the heartbreak I felt whilst reading.

Adam and Anna meet whilst both on holiday and it was love at first sight for the pair. Cracks begin to show in their relationship a few years later and I thought that this was as upsetting as it was going to get. How wrong I was!

Amelia Henley's writing was wonderful, I really felt part of the story, that Adam and Anna were my friends. She pulled me in to this wonderful relationship only to break my heart further in the book.

The characters were realistic, they had flaws, were relatable and just perfect in that "everyday normal" way. The tragedy later in the book could happen to anybody, and it really emphasised how anything could happen at any given moment.

This book grabbed me by the heart and didn't let go.

Don’t be fooled by the cover - this is a dark book with lots of difficult themes which some readers may find distressing.
Unfortunately I got about half way through and just had to put this book down. I was excited by the blurb and the cute cover of this book. I do enjoy a love story every now and then, especially when it has a few twists and turns along the way. The book started promising but quickly took a dark turn. I don’t want to give any spoilers but I think it’s important that readers are aware of the topics as they could be triggering. Some of the themes covered (in the first half that I read) are:
Endometriosis
Fertility issues
Coma / ICU / Hospital
Baby loss

It seems to be a book that a lot of people are enjoying and had it been advertised correctly (with cover + blurb), I might have enjoyed it more than I did.

I am writing this review moments after finishing it. My eyes are puffy, I have a blocked up nose from all the crying and I just feel broken.

For the first 50% I cried, I was crying in bed at night because how could this story play out as it did. I was and still am invested in Anna and Adam. I managed to stop crying for a bit but the last 20% well you get the picture it was non stop.

I feel drained. Completely. This book tore my heart in two. I know that the ending was perfect but really it’s not the one I was screaming for. I was, in my head as everyone is sleeping, screaming at certain bits. I wanted different outcomes but it was brutal and realistic and life isn’t always a Fairytale, we just have to deal with it.

Now I have to deal with life after The Life We Almost Had, and I am not sure I can. I mean I will obviously but this book is special. Something about this book has ruined all other books for me. This, in fact, is very close, if not beating, my other favourite ever book The Lion Tamer Who Lost and we all know how much I loved that book. It was magical, it gave me hope to what a future could look like, it was full of love and sorrow. It literally has moved me to so many tears, that I just don’t seem to be able to stop!! It is a rollercoaster of emotions for sure. Damn you, Ms Henley.

With most of the books I read, I skim the blurb and jumped straight in. I had no preconceptions about the book and I had no idea of the journey. It was a journey of true love, real love and a fight for that love. What could be truer than that?

I have no more words about this beautiful story. I have to go and dry my face. All I will say is thank you, Ms Henley, thank you for writing this story. Thank you for introducing Adam and Anna into my orbit.

The Life We Almost Had is a beautifully heartbreaking book that follows Anna, in a Spanish beach town following her broken engagement, where she meets Adam. What starts off as a holiday romance turns into something deeper. Years later, cracks begin to appear in their marriage and they are no longer as happy as they once were together. They decide to go back to the place where they first fell in love to rekindle their love.

This book was so heartbreaking, I felt so emotional. I would compare it to The Light We Lost and All Your Perfects, as aspects of the book reminded me of both.

Overall, I highly recommend this book! Thank you to Forever and Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

There are some books that you love and want to press into everyone’s hands. And then there are others that you hope you will love but end up being a mess. Unfortunately, the Love We Almost Had by Amelia Henley was one of these reads for me.

Thoughts:
If love was easy, it wouldn’t be worth the sacrifice. Upfront I want to say this was a heavy book, but I was invested in the lives of Adam and Anna. We start out with their whirlwind romance and then taken with them over the next five years as we see what happens when they have issues with infertility. I could feel the emotions between these two and the struggle felt so raw and real. It was heartbreaking to read, but an honest look.

About halfway through a major event happens and this is where it turns a little sci-fi which I was not expecting. With a book that was so contemporary, this felt jarring and I started to become annoyed with the characters and the decisions being made. I kept reading because I still wanted to know what happened but the ending was unrealistic and very far fetched in my opinion.

I read a review where someone had said they felt that the book itself had a bit of an identity crisis in not knowing what it wanted to be, trying to fit into too many areas, and I could not agree more!

If you loved this book (and there seem to be a lot of you), then I hope we can still be friends🙂.
Thank you to @thesubstitutelibrarian for the robust discussion and for letting me vent!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

This was nothing like what I expected, and unfortunately I mean that in a bad way. I went into expecting a rom -com with some kind of drama. What I got instead was something quite bizarre. It’s impossible to discuss without spoilers, so please don’t read on if you’ve not read the book or are not seeking spoilers, as I will be discussing every element of the plot including the ending.

So, we start off with Anna writing a letter to Adam. Something bad has happened to separate the two of them in some way, but you don’t know what. It then jumps back to how they met - a chance meeting on holiday which starts what seems to be an immediate and unforgettable love between the two. You get a really lovely section where the two of them are happy and in love and determined to make it work. But then it jumps ahead, and they’re struggling to conceive, and they’re bickering and moaning and just generally have lost their spark. So Adam being the sweet and kind man he is, books them a holiday to return to where they first fell in love, trying to get back to where they were. When they get there, Anna surprises him with the magical news that she’s pregnant, and it all starts to become a bit more cheerful and uplifting than it has been up to that point (books about people moaning at their spouse rather than actually communicating are a particular hatred of mine).

They then decide to go on a yacht trip, but unfortunately they tempt fate by performing that bit from Titanic at the front of the yacht, and it starts to sink. Adam rescues Anna by swimming her to shore, but then decides to be the idiot hero and goes back to save another person even though his newly pregnant wife is begging him not to. So, he gets back to the yacht, gets smashed over the head with a pole, nearly drowns, is rescued, but is then left in a coma with a 3% chance of survival, and Anna has a miscarriage due to all the trauma. Conveniently, a local scientist is researching consciousness, and reckons he has a device that will allow Anna and himself to see what, if anything is going on in Adam's mind. It uses a functional MRI, but not like one in a hospital. This one has massive magnets, so there is a bit of a risk at letting anyone use it. But Anna decides to go ahead, and when she uses it she enters an alternate reality inside Adams brain, where the accident didn't happen and they didn't lose the baby and they work out their communication issues. Local scientist is worried though, because the massive headaches and nosebleeds Anna has after using it are bad, and he also thinks he might just be grieving and imagining the whole thing in her head. Anna gets really addicted to being in the 'alternate reality', especially once she has baby Harry, and so they begin to talk about not letting her use it anymore due to the risks to her physical and mental health. Adam hears them saying its bad, and the next time she enters his consciousness to say bye, he takes them to the yacht accident, where he dies. She comes out of the dream state to find him flatlining in real life, and she lets him go. After the funeral, she runs off to some address she's remembered from one of the dreams, which turns out to be a children's home, where she finds Harry, her and Adam's baby from the dream world/his consciousness, who somehow now exists in the real world and was dumped on the doorstep the day Adam died. Her and Harry head off to travel the world, with Adam joining them as a breeze or a leaf or a beam of sunlight depending where they are.

So, as you can see, it is definitely not just a rom-com with a difference. It becomes almost like science fiction at some points, which I didn't necessarily hate, but it just seemed like the science bits weren't really fleshed out, and were just a bit of babble designed to get Anna into the dream world. If I'm honest, the bits where she's in the dream world were probably my favourite in the book, as that's where you got to see a bit of the magic of their relationship, which you also saw at the start when they met and which is what drew me into the book. The issue is, that initial magic is completely gone within a few chapters. Instead, Anna is constantly whinging and moaning, and neither of them has the guts to just talk about what's going on, so you have this huge section where they just lose all of their spark and it becomes dull and a real slog to get through. And then suddenly everything is ok when they go on holiday? It was all a bit unrealistic, and you just knew something was going to happen. Although to be fair I didn't expect a yacht sinking, but at least it was a surprise.

Then, Anna entering Adam's consciusness started, and it all just got a bit daft for me. I mean, I've just read a book which has a similar theme (The Two Lives of Lydia Bird), so it might just be that because I enjoyed that one so much, this one fell flat. But it just seemed too far fetched and odd, especially when it culminated in him dying anyway. And then the baby from his consciousness being real at the end, and Anna adopting him? I mean, what the hell was that? It was just all so jumbled and odd. To me, this is a book of three parts - the meeting and romance (which I loved), the marriage (which I hated), and the accident and its aftermath (which made no sense at all). Each of the sections was really distinct, there was no cohesive narrative which made the plotting feel quite poor. Plus, the spark of their relationship was gone within a few chapters, which sucked considering that was what drew you in in the first place.

All in all, not one I enjoyed. Bad plotting, poor characters (Anna was a nightmare for most of the book) and a weird plot twist culminated in a disjointed and uninteresting read for me.

Disclaimer - I was fortunate enough to be provided with an advance reading copy of this book by NetGalley. This has not affected my review in any way, and all opinions are my own.

This one hit all the feels for me. A love story that is not overly "gushy" is my type of romance. The characters felt genuine, the romance felt true and I truly shed a tear during the emotional moments. Heart-wrenching moments make this more of a heavy read but worth the emotional toll.

I was fortunate to receive a copy of this ARC from NetGalley.

Anna and Adam's is beautiful love story. There are a lot of pause for thought moments in this book and cause to reflect on your own relationships and how you would respond. I was concerned at the turning point it was going to become a Sci-Fi book! But thankfully this didn't happen. I felt there were things left unexplained, exactly like real life, and I know it's a book that will stay with me for a long time.

I had never heard of this author before and will be definitely reading more by this author as so gripping from beginning to end many twists and turns and mystery and full of romance heartbreak and happiness and shows the love story of the couple with mystery added. Well worth more than five stars and so very well written.
Anna is away on her honeymoon on her own as her husband to me doesn’t marry her so she’s not looking for love and when her friend arrives to spend time with her she is anything but looking for a relationship but when Adam arrives and they get to know each other things soon change. She heads home thinking it’s a holiday romance as he wants to travel and she doesn’t but he ends up changing and travelling across the country to see her at weekends and when he turns down a job so he can be with her and they end up getting married. Problem is as years go by things start to go wrong she can’t have a baby which they both so want and they suddenly go back to the place they met and things start to change they find true love and happiness again but then a horrible accident happens and Adam is in a coma she realises she needs him even more and she’s been offered that chance what will happen will see be given a second chance at marriage but will Adam ever wake up or is he lost forever.
Brilliant read.

This is not your conventional love story... to begin with.

Anna and Adam fall in love on holiday, as you do. That's as normal as this novel gets. I don't think I've read a story which plays with your emotions so completely as here. Heartache, joy, and back around again, and again, makes this not an easy read at times. though that's mainly because the author really knows how to knock the reader for six! This was a breathless read and now? I can't wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

Thank you to HQ and Netgalley!

This is a change for an author known as Louise Jensen. She’s a crime writer but this is her first book as women fiction. I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t guess what happened at all. This book gave me so many emotions and even made me cry. I don’t cry at books so that’s an indication of how special this book is. I can’t wait to see what is written next.

Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Whenever an announcement about Louise Jensen’s book is out, I get a shiver down my spine. I know I will read it. I know it will be one of my reading highlights of the month. How do I know? Because I have been following Louise since her first novel, The Sister, got out there. In fact, it was the very first proof I read. I was a newbie reviewer. Louise’s book seeped into my veins and made me understand different things. One, that an author has power. But a gifted author with a great pen, who understands their peers, and knows how to put words on emotions is on top of the world. Louise blew my mind with her first baby, and she continues to do so years later. The second thing I understood, and which made me a better reader and reviewer, is how important it is to share our thoughts in honesty and with respect. Last but not least, she taught me some stories stay with you forever.

Now, what about Louise Jensen’s alter ego, Amelia Henley? Far from thrillers but never from the psychological side of everything. I had high hopes about The Life We Almost Had. What a title. Full of promises, this nasty ‘almost’ hinting at bumps in the road, scars on a skin. I was so excited that the wait was almost (again, this word!!!) unbearable! When a proof was sent my way, I was relieved, elated, ready to dive in…

The swim was a dream.

I was in love with the writing. Amelia and Louise are the same person, but not exactly the same writer. I felt it, and let Amelia prove herself. Prove herself she did!!! She has a way with words that just make me fall in love over and over again with her style.

Anna and Adam were very interesting characters, and I loved their contradictions, their struggles, they really felt real. Actually, it all felt so real it hurt! I was able to empathize with both of them, get a 360° view of them, inside out. I am not one to read romance just for romance. I need meat! I need something that makes the romance plausible, tangible, palpable. What Anna and Adam have is beautiful and heart-breaking, it made my heart swell with happiness and break in a hundred little pieces. Their ups and downs mirrored those we face in real life (apparently, real and almost are key words!!!) I would like to thank Amelia for not sugar-coating their story. Instead, she created authentic characters with their own history, struggles, strengths and weaknesses. She joined their fates and breathed life into their experience.

When cracks began to appear in their relationship, I swore at thin air. I felt their love was written in the stars (oh goodness, I am becoming a sappy lady!) and yet… Yet life had other plans. There is no shortage of love between them, but so many factors come into account when building a life together that juggling it all has to put a strain on everything. I rooted for Anna and Adam and with every blow they took, my hope fought back. Still, love isn’t about what we deserve…

A very uncommon thing happened. I fell in love with a husband! Haha, I sound like a homewrecker! What I mean is that the more I read about Anna and Adam, the closer to Adam I felt. This was due to a very special and terrible twist that changed everything for them both. I wish I could tell you more, but vague should my review remain. What I can tell you is that I was personally invested in the matter, it hitting so close to home for me, and that’s when the gap between Anna and Adam widened in my heart. Amelia brilliantly handled how both characters reacted to what was happening to them, and more, but Adam moved me so much I was shaken by the wave of warmth I felt towards him. He was lovely, understanding, and never pushing, but Anna couldn’t see it, blinded by her pain. I wanted to shake her, I wanted her to open her eyes and see what she had. I know it was all part of a bigger picture, but I couldn’t help it. That’s how much the story reached me!

There’s nothing ordinary in this love story.

The Life We Almost Had is a beautiful story and a fantastic read, so smooth and authentic! Bravo, Amelia!
