Everything about Katarina Kelly tells me to run.

But this brazen, brown-eyed beauty has brought me to my knees.

As an accomplished surgeon, I’ve managed my life with delicate precision. Meeting my needs without letting anyone get close has been a complex operation.

Until her.

I have no problem finding sultry women. Women without enough baggage to fill a jet plane.

So why Kat?

This broken, bewitching minx is the challenge I never saw coming.

The best night of my life and she walked away without looking back.

So why chase someone who’s nothing but trouble?

Because I already know, without her my life will never be the same.

This is book 2 in the “𝑫𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏” trilogy. It is written in dual perspective. I would say this is a slower paced book to book 1, but towards the end it picks up and you are left with an emotional rollercoaster, make sure you have tissues.

Kat went on a date with Mark Snow, a firefighter/medic who she is friends with. She said yes to the date, but is now regretting saying yes. It was more of a “in the moment” it sounded like a good idea, but actually not so much. Mark oddly picked up a pair of boots in Kat’s room when he was there and had a grin on his face. These are the same boots which Kat randomly woke up wearing one morning. In here dream she was walking down a cat walk in just the thigh high boots and a tiny thong. She has no idea why she woke in the morning in that exact outfit and doesn’t know where the clothing came from? Ever since she started taking a sleeping pill to help with her lack of sleep, she has had weird dreams and woken up the next day in weird outfits which don’t make any sense.
Kat decides it’s best to stop taking the sleeping tablet and figure out if that was causing her to wake up in weird outfits.
After her date with Mark she wakes up, but she can’t remember getting home and her brain seems to be missing hours of the date. What the hell happened? Did Mark drug her?

Nick can’t stop his attraction any longer after kissing Kat in Target, he then doesn’t hear anything from her. He assumes that he has been blown off and just waits to see if anything could happen, he leaves the ball in Kat’s court. Nick has decided to start up with the ‘big brother, big sister’ association and is set to meet his new ‘little brother’ he is extremely nervous and doesn’t know what to expect. Could this boy help Nick finally realise what he wants to do with his life?

Kat and Nick’s chemistry and attraction is super hot in this book, at times I really wanted to bang their heads together and tell them to talk to each other and stop making assumptions, but there is no telling these characters sometimes.

I really enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to the final conclusion in book 3 which is due to be released in November, can Kat and Nick have a happy ending? Or are there outsiders who will get in the way?

Ahhh.. Nick 😍😍😍

This one has made me fall all the more head over heels in love with the sexy Dr. Nick Barnes.💋💋💋

This book continues where we left off in book 1. Everyday is a new day and new cases and new people to attend to at the hospital. But Kat loves her job.
Although now she's worried more about her suspicious visions and dreams which don't seem to be just visions at all.

Kat confides in her close friends trying to search answers to the tidbit of recollections she's had. She knows she has to do something about the memory lapses but kat doesn't knoe to deal with it all.

And if that's not enough she's starts getting mysterious texts from an unknown number and she starts worrying there might be more than she understands to what happened during her so called dreams.

Amidst all the daily ongoings, Kat and Nick find their attraction to each other unable to resist. I was like guys just freaking get to together. But when they finally get together... FREAKING FIRE FOR SURE. 😍😍🔥🔥🔥

But that also opens another door for speculations. As not only Nick and Kat are scared of their feelings for each other but there's something huge that Kat is still not aware of.

Especially when the texts get more dangerous Kat will have to decide to take strick actions before it not only ruins her personal life but can also be detrimental for career.

I FREAKING LOVED LOVED MY SEXY DOCTOR. NICK is just something else in this one. Not only is that man oh so freaking handsome but he is a man unlike anyone who'd go to any lengths for the people he loves and cares for.

This book really pulled so deep inside, I was so immersed I didn't realise when this book was done already. 😢

I can't already wait for the next book. Loved loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wow! Wow! Wow! Just finished the trilogy . . .
Nick Barnes wears arrogance like a suit of armor. One I want to peel off with my teeth.
Book 1 Deprivation: 4 STARS
Book 2 Fractured: 5 STARS
Book 3 Stronger: 5+ STARS

I realized as soon as I began Deprivation that the author was playing the long game. She was setting the stage, developing the characters, and building the tension - all in the name of a future payoff. And boy, did she succeed!

The series built on itself so nicely. The ending of book 1 shocked the hell out of me and shoved me right into book 2, but it was the third book that completely knocked my socks off. I became ridiculously invested in Nick and Kat and their tumultuous relationship. I just couldn't get enough!

If you're into . . .
✔ slow burn contemporary romance
✔ enemies to lovers
✔ a workplace setting (in an ER)
✔ a relatable, work-in-progress heroine
✔ an arrogant, yet vulnerable hero
✔ some serious twists and turns
. . . you've found your next read!

Even Better Than the First!

This second book in the Deprivation Trilogy is even better than the first one. Kat and Nick's story continues from book one, and the two finally get down to some romantic business. But things are not all smooth sailing for the couple, as Kat has a ton of serious issues she must deal with, not the least of which is the advancements of a creepy stalker. Throughout the book, Kat grows from acting downtrodden and ineffectual to finally deciding to take care of her life, and I, for one, was super happy with the change.

There are several sexy scenes in this book. The chemistry between Kat and Nick is HOT.🥵🥵 Watching these two beautiful people, who are totally committed to NOT having a relationship, finally coming together was a pleasure. I eagerly look forward to the conclusion of their story, which comes in the third book. 😍😍

An amazing follow up to Deprivation.

Kat and Nick’s chemistry has grow even more and we finally get to see them get together 🥰

I love how LM has written these two and the side characters.

Kat is incredibly relatable as a woman who has been jaded so many times by various relationships. We finally see her overcome some of her fears and open up to Nick.

I am really excited to see where the author takes us in the third book!

Another truly exceptional instalment of the Deprivation Trilogy! LM Fox is such a talented author, I struggled to put this book down. She’s brilliant.

Layla keeps you on your toes with this rollercoaster of emotions! Such high highs, but also the lowest lows. I giggled, got hot under the collar and cried. I cried quite a few times. For Kat and for myself.

Dr Nick Barnes… 🔥♥️🔥♥️ oh this man! He’s the full package (with a very full package 😝) Such a caring, considerate guy, but also one who doesn’t mind getting down and dirty too 🔥

Kat, oh Kat. She’s going through SO much I wanted to just cuddle her so many times! She’s such a strong independent woman but she needs to learn to ask for help. She’ll do so much for others but always forgets she needs care too ♥️

There’s a few things left unanswered which I can’t wait to have answered in the final book of the trilogy - Stronger! 🔥

I can’t wait for the final book, I love the characters Layla has brought to life, especially Mel and Jake! Plus Olivia and Nate. I’d like to learn more about them in the future.

Thank you Layla 🙏🏻📚♥️

Fractured picked up right where Deprivation ended. The steamy ER romance got even steamier in book two. Kat begins to get more answers to her strange behaviour, and Nick finally admits to more than just himself that he is head over heels in love with Kat. But will the secrets she still keeps from him keep them apart? It’s been such a pleasure ARC reading both books. I cannot wait for the third instalment to be released next month ! I highly recommend starting this series if you’re looking for a suspenseful er romance 🥰💕#bookreview #bookstagram #arcreader #readthenorth #bookrecommendations #erromance #suspenseful

Back at it with Book 2 in the Deprivation Trilogy. After the ending of book 1, I ran so fast to pick up book 2. I needed to know what happened, so here we are.

I will try to not give too many spoilers but book 2 picks up where one leaves off. Nick and Kat are finally warming up to their attraction to each other and doing something about it.

Kat is still keeping her distance due to her past with men. She still had that wall built up, but during the book, Nick proves that she is worthy of love, companionship and being cared for, by him. He’s not necessarily off the hook though, there was a secret he knew and kept from Kat until he finally tells her. ( I was so mad at him before this point 😆)

Nick does redeem himself but still. There are other complications that arise with Kat taking sleeping medication to help with her nightmares & insomnia. 🫠The horrible truth is revealed as to what is going on with taking the medication. Oh and did I mention there’s someone who harasses her by texting her through an “unknown number”? 🫣Yeah that. Oh and Nick is still dealing with his wall that he has built up because of the death of his mother & his messy divorce.

This book took me on twists and turns and it was a definite page-turner. 📖Now I am eager to read the final book!

Check out book 2 today!!

Be still my heart, for these two are MY FAVES OH MY GOD.

Okay so this one had more spice actually between our two MC’s this time. It’s a cliffhanger again for the next book but AHHHH I’m immediately going on to read it.

The angst was there, the steamy scenes were shower-door-fogged-up level, and the romance? My heart cannot take these two. Truly the most well suited couple, if only they’d TALK TO EACH OTHER OH MY DAYS.. but it adds to the angst, so I’m cool with it.

Oooohhhhh.... This book picked up right where Deprivation left off! I love stories like this...seamless transition from one book to the next. And the story is just as HOT!

Kat, who has had to absolute worst luck with men, is very wary of Nick and her attraction to him. And Nick, after an ugly divorce, is not looking for a romance, but when Kat comes careening into his life, he has no chance!

Kat, has been struggling with sleep, and she started taking sleeping pills... Pills that have been known for some pretty strange side effects. One of which is sleepwalking. Kat has had some pretty strange dreams while taking these pills, or at least she thought they were dreams until she starts getting these cryptic texts and one picture showing Kat doing stuff she wouldn't normally do.

Fractured by L.M. Fox isn't your typical romance novel. Yes, there are plenty of steamy scenes, like fan yourself, need a cold shower steamy... But this author has managed to tell a story that not only has amazing sex scenes, but has a plot. I absolutely love these books!! 4.5⭐

And now I wait... Stronger, the third book, comes out in November. This is what happens when you start reading a great book, you fly through it in less than 6 hours and then you have to wait.

Good things come to those who wait....right??

Thank you to L.M. Fox for the eARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I am truly blessed to be a part of this ARC team!

Fractured is book 2 of the Deprivation Trilogy by @authorlmfox. Please read my review of the first book (Deprivation) to catch yourself up…I’ll wait…

Ok, ready? So we left off with Kat having had amnesia tree sex with Nick and now she’s gone on a date with sleazEMT (trademark that) Mark who clearly knows about her sleep stripping adventure. Kat has no recollection of what happened on her date with Mark. Was she roofied? Was she abducted by aliens? Is she losing her mind? Kat smartly stops taking her Ambien and has no further weird episodes, but now she can’t sleep again!!

Orthobro Nick proves himself to be a solid guy in this book with a pension for aggressive text messaging, to which I can 200% relate. He’s very loyal, responsible, and caring. He loves to fix bones and loves to bone and he excels at both. Kat seems to string Nick along for most of the book while she deals with all of her Ambien and non-Ambien induced crises and I wanted her to just trust him and let him help her.

SleazEMT Mark continues to be a dark presence looming in the background taunting Kat this whole book. Hopefully he gets what he deserves (which would be a throat punch and a dick kick) in book 3. But will Kat just let Orthobro Nick love her like he loves his bones? Only time will tell….

Smut- 3.5 stars
Romance- 3.6 stars
Story- 3.2 stars
Screwing against a tree- 0 stars (OUCH!)

Part two in the Deprivation trilogy

We are getting more of the build up from Kat and Nick and this relationship they’ve been trying to avoid. They are not without their ups and downs, but also not without their steaminess. They really lack on communication with each other which is so frustrating because they would be so much better off of they just talked to the other (but that would make for a real boring book, lol).

I just can’t get enough of these characters. Not just Kat and Nick but the friends as well. Everyone is just written so lovely you just desperately want to be apart of their friend circle.

I also completely devoured this book in less than a day. LM Fox is instantly a new favorite author. It’s been so long since I just haven’t been able to put a book down for anything. I’m truly invested and in love with this story.

Nick's a doctor, and doctors help people. So he's going to help Kat, but not just because she's a woman who needs help, but because he's falling (fallen) for her.

Strange things are happening to Kat. She's waking up in clothes she doesn't remember putting on. She's getting texts showing her doing things she wouldn't normally do. She's having vivid and bizarre but hot dreams. But are they really dreams? Are the sleeping pills she's been taking really helping her, or are they messing with her mind and her body?

We don't really get the answers to these questions, in fact, even more threads were introduced, without being solved. There are complications in the form of a man who's acting weird, Kat still can't figure out what's real and what's a dream, but the one good thing is that she and Nick have grown ever closer. Their chemistry is molten hot, and Nick especially is doing a lot of growth here. I really cannot wait until November when the conclusion of this excellent trilogy is released (Stronger)!

Fractured is book two in the Deprivation Trilogy and believe me when I tell you it has everything you can imagine. You will find twists, turns, friendship, hurt, the unknown, lust and love. While reading Kat and Nick's story your stomach will be in knots, your heart will skip many a beat and your head will spin. L.M. will have you praying there will be a HEA ending in book three because of tears that are shed while reading it.

In order to understand the characters and storyline, book one is a must read.

Kat has decided that the sleeping pills and the way that she feels after are not worth the unknown. She still has no answers to what was happening to her on the nights that she took them. Did she really dream what happened or did something else happen? When Mark, her friend takes her out for a date she wakes up but is unsure of how she got home, undressed or even how the night ended. She feels uncomfortable with the unknown and being around him. She does however start to flirt more with Nick, Dr. Barnes, and things do get blurred and lines are crossed. Will she have her heart hurt again? Has she let another jerk in? Will Nick get her to see that he is not the bad guy? When tragedy strikes Kat, will she be able to survive it? Can she get the idea out of her head that she is not a woman that Nick or any other man could ever love?

Nick is the hot doctor that everyone wants but he only has eyes for Kat. He is so drawn to her that he cannot think. He does not want a relationship because of what happened with his ex-wife. He has been hurt and burned and does not want to go through that again, but there is something about Kat that has his heart beating stronger with her around. When they do cross the line, how does he act after? Do his actions help or hinder the feelings that they have for each other? When Kat has a life-altering experience, what will Nick do? When he realizes that there is a correlation between the pills and some of the experiences that Kat is unsure about, how will he act?

Nick is the book-boyfriend that you will swoon over in this book. He is scared but also so head over heels for Kat and will do anything for her. The chemistry they share is one that has your heart feeling all warm and fuzzy. I love their push-pull relationship. L.M. has you sitting on the edge of your seat at the end of this one. I cannot wait for the final installment of this trilogy. I highly recommend this series.

⭐️ARC Review⭐️ Fractured: (Deprivation Series - Book 2) by LM Fox

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again! “Code Blue! Code Blue Dr. Nick Barns needs to resuscitated me. ... and yes, preferably mouth to mouth. 😉

“Fractured” by LM Fox is book 2 of the Deprivation Trilogy continues with more ups / downs, twists / turns and holy crap moments. Combine that with some sweet and very spicy scenes, you get
a great love story with hopefully a “happily ever after” in the making.

In “Fractured,” you see a different side of Nick Barnes. You see the side that isn’t the “type A” you normally see at the hospital. You see Nick become a “big brother” to Gavin and take care of his own dad. You see a man who is in love with a woman who needs help. A man who wants to help her heal. A man who is willing to wait for her. However, patience does have its limits. Lol

Kat is as confidant and amazing as they come. However, she is not without a complicated past and an exhausting present. Kat is constantly having awful nightmares. Combine these with working in the ER, she is exhausted and not sleeping well. Taking prescribed medication, they lead her to weird and unwelcome dreams.

In comes Mark Snow. A “so called friend” who she went on a date with and regrets it. Someone who might be contributing to her “episodes.” Receiving crazy texts from an anonymous number, Kat is losing it. Trying to figure out what these texts mean and who they are from is proving to be very difficult. She needs help. Will she let Nick in? Will she let anybody help her?

The sexual chemistry between Kat and Nick combined with the sweet moments they share is super hot. I love these two together. 🔥

It’s said, patience is a virtue. Holy smokes Dr. Nick Barnes is one patient man. They say good things come to those who wait. The amount of waiting this man has done for Kat, I really hope it pays off.

Fractured (Deprivation Series: Book 2) was definitely worth the wait! I’m so looking forward to “Stronger.”

Fractured is an amazing continuation from Deprivation. I think it is super important that we get dual POVs to truly understand Kat and Nick’s internal turmoil in this book. LM Fox not only dialled up the steam but also the emotions. And damn, this book leaves us with an even greater cliffhanger 😩

The sleeping pills worked wonders to keep Kat’s night terrors away, however it comes with a price. She often wakes up with no recollection of what happened the night before. It’s heartbreaking to see her struggle to distinguish what’s real and what’s not. Luckily, Liv, Nate, Jake and Mel are always there to listen, help and support her. They play such an important role in her healing process.

We get to see more of Nick and a different side of him. I literally swoon over 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 single thing he does. From him volunteering to help Gavin at the ‘Big brother, Big sister’ association, opening up to his dad, to doing everything to make Kat happy. I get so frustrated with miscommunication, thank God Nick perseveres to clear the air when things aren’t right. While he is scared of getting hurt, he’s willing to take the chance to find true love with Kat. He is gentle, humorous, sensitive, understanding… and he knows how to spoil a girl. It is a beautiful thing to see when they let each other get close ❤️

The sex is just out of this world, with the real connection, chemistry and bond. It is unhurried, intimate and meaningful. It does gets rougher over time with spanking and hair pulling 😈 Get ready for some earth shattering, hot af scenes. I love Fractured and I really feel for Kat and Nick. All I want is for them to figure things out 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 and finally be happy because they deserve it. Hoping we’ll get all the answers in book 3 🥺

Fractured picked up right where Deprivation left off. The beginning even went back to remind you a little bit of what happened at the end so you wouldn’t be completely lost. Kat stopped taking the sleeping pills because her dreams were interfering with reality a little too much. Kat is such a relatable character in these books with her feelings and emotions. Nick seemed like the typical guy that had been burned and wasn’t sure where he needed to go with his life and decided to just shut everyone out. That is, till he his ‘little brother’ joined his life and made him start questioning everything.

MY THOUGHTS:
I thought this book was a lot slower than the first one which was a little frustrating. I felt myself wanting to scream at the characters to pull out their heads and stop making assumptions. JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER. It was still very steamy and I enjoyed it in the end. I hated how much inter monologue was in this book but that is just a personal preference of mine to enjoy more banter between the couple.

All in all this book was amazing and I can’t wait for Stronger to be released.

This is the 2nd book in this impressive trilogy, and this story continues straight on from when #1 ended. Kat is completely exhausted between her work and weird and vivid dreams which are haunting her waking hours. Taking sleeping pills as a solution is making things worst for Kat as she wakes up after weird dreams wearing weird outfits which she would never wear, and receiving texts from an anonymous number, which are all doing a good job in messing with her head, Nick and Kat are becoming closer, and the chemistry between them is combustible and undeniable. Nick is caring and patient and he is determined to give Kat the help she so desperately needs. Kat decides to cut out the sleeping pills and try to figure out what is gong on. Who can me trusted and who cannot? This is a well written story which is an emotional roller coaster, with miscommunication, twists, turmoil, palpable chemistry, and is a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading the final book in this awesome trilogy and get the answers to so many questions. I highly recommend this talented authors work.

The tension builds throughout the second book. Reading this through Kat and Nick's perspective is very interesting. We're still based in the hospital ER which is a great setting. Kat's still have sexy dreams and seems to be a bit too excited about taking the sleeping pills we read about in book 1. Now she decided it's best to stop. She has been waking up in some of the clothing she has worn in her dreams. Also, she went on a date with Mark Snow and can't remember how she got home. Several hours are missing.. What is going on? What about the unusual texts she's been getting?
Nick kissed Kat, at Target. Wow. Quite a step for Mr. Broody who is never getting involved with anyone again. After the kiss, nothing. He waits for Kat to make the next move. But he does decide to get involved in the 'Big Brother" idea he had, to mentor kids instead of wish for his own family.
Kat and Nick have so much chemistry and steam, angst, mystery, and lack of communication at times, which all drive this great read. I'm read for book three.

Fractured is the second book in The Deprivation Trilogy, and since it's a continuation, YOU MUST READ Deprivation (Book 1) FIRST! Kat is going through some hell with the sleeping pills she's taking because she thought she was having crazy dreams, but unfortunately, she's actually doing some crazy things in real life. As I said in my review for the first book, Kat has terrible luck with men, so she's leery of Nick being attracted to her, but trust me, these two are simply HOT HOT HOT together, like you'll need a fan nearby HOT! And yes, I'm all about some sizzling heat with feelings trying to be caught, however, it's what is going on with her that really has my attention since things take a sinister turn. Of course this isn't the conclusion so we end on another cliffhanger so the wait is on, and I'm a super impatient girl so it will seem like forever! I LOVE this trilogy this far & don't see that changing anytime soon so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I’ve read all books in the Deprivation trilogy and have decided to do a review that covers all three books and then share across.

When this was described as a slow burn… legit no exaggeration, in fact that was not expressed enough. I think the stories overall were written well, just a few minor tweaks here and there but it didn’t stop me from continuing.

I feel like there are quite a few unanswered questions that I would love some closure on.

I like the stories, some very interesting characters, some I would hope to see get developed further. I couldn’t really get over how Kat’s family initially came across and don’t think the resolution got enough air time 🤷🏾‍♀️ could just be me though.

Still no resolution on the outcome of the final accident (I won’t spoil it), in some ways the story jumped a bit in other ways it kind of dragged on.

To be honest I’m a bit undecided about how I feel after reading so I’m not really sure what else to write… might come back and finish up once I’ve had time to reflect.

I would recommend, they are quick reads…

These main characters Kat and Nick have so much development...this was a good read!

Rating: 4.5 stars

Fractured stared just where Deprivation ended! We learn more about Katarina and Nick, they have developed into such interesting and wonderful characters.

Their past blend into the current but I absolutely love how they are trying so hard not to allow the negatives of the past to overwhelm and based their decisions on the relationship they are developing.

This story is so very interesting I can't wait for the conclusion to this trilogy. I am hoping for a happily ever after for these two who have been through so much.

Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Entertaining, Inspirational, Page-turner, Romantic, Unpredictable, Wonderful characters

The second book is even better

Fractured, LM Fox’s second book in her Deprivation series, continues the not quite there yet romance of Nick and Kat. To say these two have baggage is an understatement but Fox’s knack for storytelling prevents this from being sucked into a grade B melodrama. You can’t help but root for these two. Let’s face it ladies, we could all use a Nick in our lives. :) Fox continues to flesh out and grow her characters while adding a bit of mystery and intrigue into the mix. I highly recommend this series and will be starting book 3 as soon as I hit the submit button on this review!
