Second Chance

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 Stars

I absolutely love a good second chance romance. Shemel & Cheyanne we’re best friends that turned into high school sweethearts, which quickly went south because of someone else’s jealousy….fast forward 10 years later and Shemel an aspiring singer is now trying to find a lucrative avenue for his musical career and runs back into the love of his life….now he has to try and win her back. This was really a cute story, but there was a lot left unsaid or basically for the reading to assume it was resolved.

🥰🥰

Love On The Brain is a second chance love story about a couple that started as best friends but took things to the next level. Shemel is a too cool, smooth talking, Neo Soul singer trying to get his break. And Cheyenne is his former best friend and soulmate that pretty much holds his career in her hands. First things first, Shemel is everything! He has charisma, he’s charming, and he screams Big D energy! Okay, okay! 🔥🥺I loved everything about him because he had truly humbled himself and wanted his girl back. Cheyenne exemplifies, “Black Girl Magic” throughout the book buuuuut sis wore me out! I was literally wanting to throw my kindle because she was so stubborn and at the smallest things her way at handling things was to run. However, when Shemel needed her, Chy never left his side and she gained my respect. Shemel and Chy were going at it like rabbits, I was pleasantly surprised but in true Shay Davis fashion there’s going to be some intense love scenes. Whew. 🔥🤭I really loved this book! I loved the co-characters and the flashback scenes because it brought clarity to the story. The friends literally had me laughing so much. I cannot wait to see what is next in the Sienna Terrace series. ❤️

Loved Shemel and Cheyenne

This was a really good story with just the right amount of spice. I enjoyed Marco and Chance a lot and would love a follow up on them. I wasn't crazy about the best friend though. Something about her didn't sit well with me.

This story was cute and a nice light read. I love the chemistry between Mel and Chy. This would've been five stars for me but Chy constantly arguing with herself and being indecisive about Mel was too much for me. I understand they had history and there was some hurt still lingering but dang stop going back and forth with what you want. Other than that I loved the story.

Shay

You never ever disappoint me with your books and I love it. I was so happy that Shemel and Cheyanne got back together I was definitely hoping that she would have given him a chance to make it work out and glad that she took him back.

Cute story

This was a cute story. I loved how Shemel never gave up trying to get his girl back. Chey was working my nerves being so wishy washy. I loved the whole premise of the story. I’m glad they got their HEA.

Lost In Love

In my Rihanna voice singing:
“And you got me like oooooooh, what you want from me”.
This book has a great plot with enticing scenes that pull you into the story ready to choose sides. I was so team Chy, angry in her feelings with her, but Shemel came with Love On BOTH Brains and his grown man everything and I mean everything. Shay Davis gives the drama, the thrill, the suspense and steaming romance making this a page turner ready for the next word. I love that she writes strong, amazing, assertive and determined characters who fight for what they want, for what’s inevitably destine to be. A wonderful story that guides you through complicated relationship drama that can end with one mistake. Well written, easy to flow to follow and highly recommended.

Young Love Never Grows Old

Shay, another great read. I always say I love how you always have our black men shine, even when they do foolish things they apologize from the heart, and when it's some real crazy ones they always rein it back in. Shemel and Cheyenne had such a soul tie at a young age although Cheyenne was young in finding out what it was to be in a relationship she was also not secure enough at that time to listen with her head and not her heart.
I loved her two best friends Chance and KaMyra, both were crazy as loons but they had
Cheyenne back through whatever. I would love to see either or both those fools story. Great job.

i think I’m gonna like it here

Listen. Book one of the Sienna Terrace series definitely has set the toner. Cheyenne and Shemel’s story was hot. I love a second chance love story and Love on the Brain did not fall short. Teenage first love that turns to longing, with music serving as a backdrop draws you in from the beginning. The other characters in the story make you hope you see them again in the future. This is really good book. I can’t wait to see what the series brings next!

Do you remember your first love? Would you feel anything or catch feelings if they crossed your path decades later?
Shay Davis explores what happens when young love catches up to us in adulthood in this fun tale of love and music. Will Cheyenne and Shemel rekindle an old flame or run from it forever?
Is it destiny or just young love that's in the past?
A light, entertaining story of going after your dreams and finding out if the love that affected you so deeply is truly love or lust - momentary or forever ...(It's under 150 pages for the quick read lovers ;)

Second Chances

One of my favorite tropes. What constantly draws me is push & pull attraction that the once hurt person is trying to fight, but can’t help herself and the amount of effort that the person who caused the hurt puts in, with a lot of trial and error, to make things right until they are together again because they love each other, is what I love so much about second chance romance stories. This couple had it and all the feels. I’m looking forward to seeing what, who, & where book 2 takes me.

Love on the Brain

This was a good read and didn’t really have cliche resolutions. Starting with the prologue I was proud of Chy for not falling for the Okie doke. But was she too premature in closing a door on Mel without explanation? Years later both Mel and Chy seem to have 1 missing ingredient in their lives with the absence of the other. Will they end up together? Did anything really change after 10 years?

Doing her thing

I like it when a heroine gets the chance to have a do-over with her man, and it's so impressive the second time. Cheyanne and Shemel met in high school, had a short relationship, and then the drama unraveled. Year's later, Cheyanne is a music executive, and Shemel is an up-and-coming singer. You can see where this is going, right? Well, what happens is a nice little romantic adventure with a few hiccups along the way. Overall, this was a good story.

Cheyenne and Shemel, one dimensional

Though I found the story interesting enough to keep reading, I can't say that I actually enjoyed it. I thought the side characters were kind of ridiculous and one dimensional. And the two protagonists weren't much better. Other than the overuse of profanity, there was nothing original about Love on the Brain. I think some may enjoy this book, unfortunately, I was not one of them.

Love Always

Love on the Brain is absolutely delightful! Young love. Love lost. Love found and reignited. Shemel and Cheyenne were made for one another and it was a pleasure to travel along their journey to forever.

Kudos Author Shay Davis.

All the feels

Gaahhh such a cute story. Humorous, loving, engaging “alladat” 🤣🤣🤣. Shamel and Chy are adorable, even with Chy trying to act like she didn’t want to be with that man. We saw through you boo. All in all a 5 star read

This was a quick read. However it felt a bit long because I found it boring.

I did not connect to the characters and was just speeding trough the book so I could add it to my reading goal.

This was not for me :((

Second Chance

I just love a second chance romance. Seeing how it started as teens and of course when you are young and dumb you make stupid mistakes but I am glad that when it’s meant to be there is no way you can stay away for too long. Great read

To good to end

Such a great read to get into. All it takes is for some people to listen and not react before you know the real. The concept of this story was perfect.
