I found Asaf Hanuka's "The Realist" to be a captivating read, largely owing to its sharp insight. Hanuka skillfully delves into diverse subjects, from parental anxiety to racial discrimination, addressing them with a clever and subtle touch. With the exception of the initial story, which unfolds over several pages, the subsequent narratives are condensed into a single page, and at times, just one frame. The ability to convey a complete story within such constraints is an impressive accomplishment, achieved through a thoughtful blend of text and, notably, inventive illustrations that manage to stay consistently engaging and innovative.

Although a couple of pages left me puzzled, such instances are negligible. The genre's inherent constraint, compelling storytelling within one-page comics, might be viewed as limiting. Nevertheless, "The Realist" transcends these boundaries, encapsulating everything I seek in this genre. I would rate it 4.5 stars out of five. The only reason for not awarding a perfect score of 5 out of 5 is the inherent limitation of the genre itself.
