In a world of werewolves, Zephyra is the daughter of Alpha Jerome and Luna Aurora Lafontaine, leaders of the Blizzard Moon Pack. Her parents are hiding a secret from her, and she has no idea what it is. After being rejected from her mate, all seems lost in the world until she catches the eye of the triplet Lycan Kings, the rulers of the entire werewolf and Lycan kingdom. It's mating season and they're hungry....will she give in to them or succumb to her heart-wrenching sorrow?

I've seen some people comment about "bathroom habits" and honestly I think it's refreshing that Zephyra is a real human with a real body that works, not some fake doll treated like she's perfect and pristine. Women do these things too, people! The fact about the "DP" session soon after losing her virginity that I read in another review....y'all do know that whole babies come out of women, right? Most virgins do not bleed, it doesn't hurt, and they can do anything they want right after, sheesh. I appreciate that Zephyra is not some porceleine doll and she is written like a real person. I cannot stress this enough! LOVE IT!

I actually found this book on TikTok when I was looking at book recommendations. I love how this book features a totally normal heroine, I am really sick of always reading about young women having traumatic childhoods, absent parents, etc. I want to read ideal situations, you know? At the same time, Zephyra goes through ups and downs during her adulthood as we all do, and she's really relatable. I feel like I WAS her while I was reading the book. The author perfectly captures that young, naive, shy yet outspoken heroine vibe with the heroine. She navigates through real, relatable problems. Five out of five stars for sure.
I've always been a fan of the paranormal genre and I find this to be a fascinating take on a werewolf story. I never knew werewolves could be exciting. I thought I had read and experienced all the variety of werewolves that could ever be expected and then this comes along and surprises me. I did not think there would be anything like this. Just when you thought you knew everything about werewolves this comes along and I'm very surprised. It's very interesting, I love it.
I'm not really into romance books but this one came so highly recommended that I had to give it a try. I finished it and wow, I am impressed. The spice is 10/10 and the story is flawless. This is clearly not a YA book like some people suggested, no reverse-harem book is lol. Yet this book exceeded my expectations. I will definitely read more books that come from this author.
I've read dozens of werewolf romance novels and this is by far the best. Everyone loves a rejected mate storyline, and the twists and turns keep you on your feet! I hope this becomes part of a series, I can't get enough of it!
I JUST finished reading this book, I found an ad for it on facebook and I am so glad I picked this up! I've read many paranormal romances and reverse-harems and this is by far the best! I am so glad to see that this book is part of a series, I can't wait to see what happens next.
I loved the idea of the story line but the execution was painful. This is written like an early YA with sex suddenly interspersed without any lead up and heavily leans on the “spontaneity and wildness” of werewolves versus well written scenes.
The number of times I read “she used the toilet and washed her hands” was aggressive. We learned more about the colors and styles of their prom dresses than we did about the heartwrenching pain of being rejected by her mate, or the giant news about her family and the history they have.
Every character is written like a cheerleader, even the 120 year old kings. Everyone ends their sentences with exclamation points, with nearly every paragraph having at least three- regardless of how long the paragraph is.
This story had so much promise but didn’t come through.
I wanted a werewolf romance and instead I got a teenager boring me to death with the details of every makeup look she put on. She didn't even meet the love interests until 200 pages in and then spent the rest of the book saying how they were so different but they weren't?! They were IDENTICAL TRIPLET WOLF KINGS. And she would literally describe the same one as different each time. "oh this one is so different, he's a rebel" and then she'd describe the next one as a rebel too. Also they all had K names 🙄 one of the names was Kaiser and I think we need to talk about how bad of a name that is on so many levels. There was no point in having 3 of them when they were all the same!!! Get rid of the other two and keep the one with the good name (Killian!) And it literally wouldn't have affected the story at all!! Two stars only because the outfit descriptions were on fire, respect.
A lot of things didn't work for me in this book. First the writing: it sounded like a teenager wrote it🧐 In fact I think it's a book more suited for teenagers than adult... All the characters sounded childish and immature. Some things in the plot didn't make sense: they banned Caden from pack territory but then he's invited to the wedding of the new alpha??? Then a lot of passages were uselessly long: 15 pages describing girls choosing dresses🤦🏻♀️ Who wants to read that honestly??? I skipped a lot of long and boring passages to go straight to the interessant passages! The story was ok, a bit farfetched and the climax was too short. It didn't really worse my time.
My two main issues with the book are that it’s not written with much emotion and feels like I reading a list of actions and descriptions. The second is that I was disappointed with how far and few the spice was but I get that’s preference.
Also not much duologue and lots of giggling which irk me
I’m actually mad at myself for finishing this. The concept was cool but way too much mundane detail. Weird time hops, and the references to members and her flower were just too much.
While I’m a sucker for paranormal romance usually - and I can endure a lot of bad writing - this reads like a kid old wrote it (uh… except for the smutty parts). I tried to skim it to see if it gets better but it doesn’t look like it.
This had so much potential but it falls flat for me. See my highlights to read my notes. But the writing is ridiculous. Way too many inane details.
I skipped an entire chapter about shopping for prom dresses. Like. Who cares?
There were tons of inconsistencies.
Many aspects of the world were not even close to being fleshed out properly while the author spent an inordinate amount of time on tiny details we all can assume as readers we would have prior knowledge of.
Like shopping for groceries bc we are low on food. 😒
Then she tosses in a big scary moment for the fmc in the last chapter of the book. Almost like an afterthought. Like, oh shit, I need to wrap this up, unveil the bad guy and let my fmc get rescued bf ending this shitshow of a book!
I believe the high ratings for this book are the author’s friends and family. 🤡
Bc no way is this book a literary masterpiece as some reviews have claimed. In the author’s bio it states she is an Amazon best selling author. Yeah. Not of fiction. She wrote a wedding budget book-which-that is awesome and good for her. But the bio is misleading bc this is not an author who writes best selling fiction. Sorry. Change my mind. 🤷🏻♀️
Honestly I think I read a different book than all the other reviewers. Or maybe my tastes are super different? There were so many problems with this book. There is huge focus on unimportant details and then no focus on important things. Like she was rejected by her mate and it wasn’t given as much time as picking out her prom dress. There was no explanation to why her new mates left her after changing her. And then they sent her a car and then waited to see her/contact her for a month? They then take her away that night and she’s upset about it? Everyone is super easy going and everyone is always happy and excited. I kept waiting for a conflict to make it interesting but that happened like three chapters to the end? All of a sudden, three years later there is a conflict? I can’t understand how people think this is the best book ever.

Honestly one of the best paranormal romances I've ever read. The author goes out of her way to paint a detailed picture of this world and it's characters. It's not a fast burn but it's sooo worth it when it does happen. I recommend this book to all my friends. Seriously the best PNR ever!
Have I read a different book than all the positive rating reviewers?
It was extremely poorly written with absolutely no connection to any of the relationships in the book. And believe me, many were discovered and explored. Most of which should have had their own books with the amount of time devoted to their stories!
Caden and Zeph had a brief altercation but nothing after that. We were never given a reason for him rejecting her... Oops, spoilers alert!
The "connection" between Zeph and the kings is still insanely slow halfway through the book. Like I said, it has all been about her family and friends relationships than hers. The thought, always a brides maid never a bride, comes to mind while reading this book so far!
I am over this horrible book.
Btw I honestly think Stephanie is a pen name and the book was written by a male. There are certain terms that women just do not use. It's not a rule or anything like that but, it's just not natural. Most women would say CROTCH before they would say VULVA..... It doesn't flow. There.are other parts I could quote but what's the point.
I am over wasting time on this...masterpiece of shit. Sorry. Not sorry.
I'm going to go and let Zeph continue playing with her ripe flower!
Okay... I wanted to like this one so much but I couldn't do it. In the beginning of the book there was so much masturbation and I felt like we didn't need all the details every time. I understood she was in heat and needed relief but we didn't need pages of it every time.
The way she was with her mates was so annoying. I understand the idea was that she was rejected before and was scared of it happening again but... they literally wanted to mate her. No question. They wanted it. And literally every other character, once they found their mate they had sex and bonded or whatever but this girl is calling her mates "your highness" and wanting to take it slow. Girl, if I was rejected and then three kings wanted to bite me and make me theirs right away I would jump at the chance instead of giving them a chance to find a reason not to. It just didn't make sense.
I did skip ahead as well because I wanted to know when the conflict would come... There is no conflict. This is just a love story with nothing else. So much potential. Was very unique and interesting with the whole werewolf, human, lycan thing but fell short.
WOOOOOOW!!! Finally a book that's well paced, with lots of world-building, exploring more relationships than just the Hs and h. I had yet to find one in the RH genre especially in paranormal and here it is. This book does NOT disappoint. It's a slower burn that some people may be used to but it's so worth the wait. You get the first spicy scene almost as soon as h realizes the Hs are her mates in human form. Definitely worth the hype. Stephanie, you are AMAZING!
To the one review claiming this is a pen name and Stephanie is a man....lol??? Her photo is literally at the end of the book and she posts videos of herself on her social media so...yeah, yikes. Ignore reviews that are that ignorant, fellow readers. Some people are just haters.
Book 1 in the Royal Mates Series is a great start to a new series. A fated mate, rejection by that fated mate, a second chance at love with three fated mates, betrayal, rogues attacking, kidnapping, and an attempt to destroy the Lucan Queen’s unborn child are just some the fast paced situations faced by the Alpha’s daughter/new Alpha’s sister. This is a very engaging story well worth the time to read it.
I wasn't a huge fan. There were multiple repeated actions and words that weren't needed, though that is a bit more of an editorial complaint. But there is so much unnecessary detail about things that don't truly matter. Paragraphs and pages about day to day things, and yet there is so much skipping around. I think it could have been great with a bit more direction and less concern about inconsequential things. Fairly tame for spice too.
Once I started reading, I didn't want to stop! Stephanie Noircent is an amazing storyteller with an incredible imagination! I found myself experiencing a full range of emotions. I heartily recommend this book to anyone that loves PNR...you won't be disappointed.
