“Will you really be lost without us both, angel?”

It feels like it’s been AGES since these three beautiful ladies got together to bring us something so incredibly SEXY and EMOTIONAL! I didn’t realize just how much I’ve missed this AMAZING writing collaboration until I immersed myself into Heavenly, Beck, and Seth’s journey. But Shayla, Jenna, and Isabella are BACK and once again, have given their fans EXACTLY what we want…incredible, unforgettable characters, a complicated, intense, and emotional plot, and a passion that you just can’t deny! I absolutely LOVED this beautiful and emotional rollercoaster ride, and to know THE CHOICE is only the beginning? Well, I can’t wait to see where these ladies take us next. The minute I finished this book, I was already craving more, more, MORE!

There is a reason this book is out-of-print. It's because either the readers were all committed to insane asylums or too many lawsuits filed against the authors for emotional distress and inhumane treatment.

I ended up with this audiobook because (1) it's free at my library, and (2) Christian Fox narrates.

16 HOURS..... 16 MOTHER F*CKING HOURS

That's how long this audiobook is. You know what else???? They don't even have sex until the 95% mark. What did they do for the other 15 hours and 45 minutes? NOT A F*CKING THING!!!!!!

I'm just going to spill it, spoiler or not, because I pray to god nobody else reads/listens to this nonsense.

Heavenly (stupid f*cking name, virgin, nursing student, dumb twat, should be murdered) is wanted by hot doctor Beck and bounty hunter-ish hot guy Seth. They're both doms and were friends until they both tried to go after Heavenly at the same time to claim her cherry.
There's some shit about her dying dad, yadda yadda, she's poor, lives in the slums, works a second job at a bar similar to Hooters, blah blah blah.

Nothing really happens. It's ridiculous and a complete waste of your time. The end.

When people talk about book burning - I think of books like this.

This is my second round reading this, and just like the first, it blew me away. Shayla, Jenna, and Isabelle are a force to be reckoned with. I love it when two of my favorite come together and write a series of books, so to have three of them? LOVE!

The Choice is a spin-off to the Doms Of Her Life series, and it Heavenly, Beck and Seth's story, and what a hell of a story it was. I went into this knowing that it would be brilliant. These authors are all favorites of mine. So I knew, but I didn't realize how brilliant.

Heavenly, Beck and Seth's story is not an easy one, it's an emotional ride. It will play on your heartstrings. It sure as hell did with mine.

Heavenly is a smart woman, she's young, still learning about life while having to care for her ill father, and that is hard enough as is, but she is also studying her nursing and volunteers at the hospital.

Enters Beck, A hard-working, skilled surgeon, a man I couldn't help but fall in love with from the first moment I read him. Him and Heavenly cross paths and the moment Beck sees Heavenly, he knew he needed her, wanted her and would do anything he could to have her... But things aren't always that simple.

Enters Seth, He's A PI who is just as smitten and lusting over Heavenly and wanting to claim her just like Beck is...

Ideally, for Heavenly, it would be easier if these two just got along but instead in a bid to try and get her affection, her attention these two go to great length to try and outdo each other... It started to feel like a game to me. Two Alpha AF males chasing after that one beautiful woman... If I was Heavenly, I sure as hell wouldn't be complaining... But as they both start to get to know Heavenly more... Things come to light, things start to shift... for all of them. Heavenly wants them both, but are these two able to put all this raised testosterone aside and come together to create a relationship that involves all three of them to get what they want and need? Or will this fight to win Heavenly only chase her away?

Even in the second round reading/listening to this book, I found myself completely fixated on these three. Seth and Beck are everything and more when it comes to Alpha males. I was putty in these authors' hands when it came to these two. I adored Heavenly... She was a well-written characters that you can't help but smile about when you read her parts.

This BOOK... THIS FREAKING BOOK... Actually, not just the book or series. The authors... They are freaking amazing and are the reason I have fallen and now obsess over so in love with romances with Alpha, hot as hell, domineering and downright dirty at times romances that continue to devour me whole. They are the OG's for me when it comes to all things romance.

The story was enticing, addictive, all-consuming, delicious, with a high level of heat and written to perfection... Just flawless!

All in all, after the second read/listen. I cannot fault this book nor the authors. As I said, these three ladies are a force to be reckoned with and continue to release books I fall in love with within the first chapter.

Where to start!! This is the first book in a new series by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isbella LaPearl. And while I won't spoil the story, there will be more than one book in this series, just like there was for "Doms of Her Life".
Heavenly is a young nursing student and Dominants Beck and Seth are both wanting her. She's young, naïve and doesn't know much about life because of her own life is very demanding. With a sick father to take care of and working jobs to pay for everything, she has no time for a social life. The guys, Beck and Seth, just cracked me up and reminded me of little kids playing pranks to get the girl away from one another. When they realize how much it upsets her, they must find a way to work together to win her over. Things get a little crazy when the guys find out the real story about her life and what she has to do to take care of her father and wham: Dom mode is engaged! There is a lot of issues that have to be worked on and resolved but at what price to Heavenly and her father? When I started this book, I just could NOT put it down! The story just pulls you in and you can feel all the emotions, all the fears, all the madness and happiness and also the sadness. Just when you think they are going to be happy, Heavenly discovers something about one of the guys and it ends! Now, people who know me, know I can't stand cliffhangers but this is one of the very few times that I will happily wait for the next book because I know it's gonna be that good!! All I can say is just get the book. If you loved Doms of Her Life, you will LOVE this also.

I really liked how this one started out. You knew something was up with Heavenly and it would be bad, but I didn’t think it would end up as bad as it. She was trying so hard and yet it wasn’t enough. I was glad that Beck and Seth were able to step in and help without take over.

What frustrated me was we learned this very early on in the book, then for most of the book we were in flashback mode, learning how the three of these people met. At this point I didn’t really care, I wanted to get back to the problems in the present and see how things were going to be fixed.

The ending frustrated me. I know Heavenly will blow out the papers out of proportion and that will cause all kinds of drama and she will forgive Beck, but going through it will be painful.

THE CHOICE by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob & Isabella LaPearl is the first book in Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising Series. This is the steamy and intriguing story of Heavenly Young, Ken Beckman and Seth Cooper.
Heavenly is a young innocent nursing student who attracts Dominants Beck and Seth attention. They want her, completely. They find themselves fighting over her like two kids over a new toy but to these two men, she is more like cat nip. They want to play with her - tease her and please her. They want her more than anything else and it baffles them yet they can’t help how they feel about this young and sweet young woman. Now as for Heavenly, she is drawn and attracted to both men who are way over her head. But soon both men will come to realize that they will have to work together to get Heavenly to see that they just want to protect her and help her. Heavenly isn’t like a normal woman. She didn’t have a normal growing up experience. She has hid a lot about her background and we come to see she is the sole caretaker of her father and has been for quite some time. There is more about her that we learn in this book…and we find out that all the main characters have secrets of some sort. This is a book that is told in multiple POV which lets you in on what the characters are thinking and feeling. The story was written in past and present time; the buildup was great because it shows how the story gets off and slowly builds to its intense cliffhanger. I loved the angst, humor, steamy scenes, and the sexual tension that is there with the main characters as they fought to control their feelings and hold onto the lust they are feeling. I completely understand Heavenly’s reluctance to make a choice, especially when she is falling for both men. But with her juggling both men going to cause her to lose them both? And with her secrets, when the men find things out, will it cause everything to come falling down around her? And the men, will their secrets cause an end to this intriguing and steamy new relationship? Only way to find out is to read this book!!! I will tell you, this book is long and it sets up the players in the new series but it ends on a massive cliffhanger. The pieces are still setting themselves up because this isn't the end of the story, it's only book 1 in the series. I can't wait to spend more time with these phenomenal new characters. I definitely look forward to the next installment.

I don’t know how these ladies can collaborate on such great stories. (I have difficulty collaborating with co-workers on simple presentations and documentation.) The Choice is the first book in Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, Isabella LaPearl Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising series. Lately, I find that I’ve fallen into the cliffhanger book bin and I’m not unhappy about it at all.

Heavenly Young is a young volunteer who meets two dominants Dr. Ken Beckman and the hot private eye Seth Cooper. For a young, naïve, inexperience woman these two very different men one a dominant who is also and sadist and one a dominant gives her a lot to think about and experience. It also makes a decision to choose one over the other a difficult task. Heavenly sees qualities in both that she likes and wants more. I can’t say I blame her as I like both of these characters myself.

Neither man is interested in long-term relationships but there is something about Heavenly that captures the doctor who doesn’t do vanilla or hookups with people at work. She also attracts the PI who wants to see if he can have more with the beautiful young woman.

The Choice told in multiple points of view gives us a bird’s eye view of what is going on in the heads of these main characters. There are some very funny moments as Beckman and Cooper compete for Heavenly. Both men are competitive and willing to do anything to come out on top until they understand how much it hurts the woman they desire.

All three characters are complex with troubled pasts and secrets that they don’t want known. Once I started reading The Choice, I read non-stop, barely stopping to eat. (My Dom’s diet plan.) The chemistry among the main characters is captivating. I love that the Dom’s of her life characters make an appearance and give advice. It is always fun to have favorite characters come back to life.

I commend these authors on their writing. The flow of the story is smooth and interesting. It never feels jumpy or uncomfortable. The writers bring these characters to life and into my heart in a most realistic and appealing way. If, like me, you are a fan of hot, steamy stories with angst and secrets to unveil, The Choice is a book for you.

I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers because my old brain loses track of some events and nuances in the story after a time. What I like about Shayla Black, et. al. is that I trust them to give me an exceptional audiobook in the near future that I can replay shortly before the release of book two.

Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, and Isabella LaPearl have really out done themselves with this story. Not only did it hook me on the very first page it pissed me off when I had to put it down to get a few hours of sleep, seriously that is how engrossed I was with Heavenly's story.

Choices, choices, choices…

Heavenly is stuck between so many rocks and hard places I’m amazed she can function! But she does. She takes everything life throws at her and keeps moving one step forward at a time. Family obligations – and much love – means her career, her life, has more purpose than usual for a young woman starting her adult life, a new career. Throw in not one but two alpha males who want to help – and love – her, well… Overwhelmed doesn’t begin to cover it…

The characters are funny and real and had this story flying by. Page after page, their conversations, their struggles – their hilarious hijinks – made for chapter after chapter of riveting reading. These authors have made me a fan of ‘which one will she choose’ and the outcome is anyone’s guess..

“She was alone with the two men who had been tempting, confusing, and consuming her for months.”

Deliciously long, this does not read like the first in a trilogy. Instead, it reads like a full story – though the ending leaves you thirsty for more… Heavenly’s heart sunk and so did mine as this instalment came to an end. Cliffhangers are the best (and worst) and I can’t wait for this story to continue!

The Choice (Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising #1) by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, Isabella LaPearl
5 stars
M/F/M Romance (Slight BDSM)
Triggers: Bullying, attempted rape
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Heavenly is a very young, naive woman who enthralls two different Doms.

She is a hard working, lovable woman who's first priority is her father. While he is sick with an auto-immune disease, she is able to befriend Beckman, a friendly surgeon who is immediately taken with Heavenly's pure nature. Despite Beckman's kinkier needs - he is a sadist, he can't help but want Heavenly for a sub.

Then you have Seth. He is also a Dom but not a sadist. He is in town to help his good friend, but when he meets Heavenly, he too is immediately drawn to her sweetness and good heart.

You watch these two men try to figure out how to woo Heavenly and you also watch Heavenly struggle with wanting two different men. This was mostly about the three of them figuring out how and whether or not they could develop a relationship. There was a lot of build up but not a lot of physical connection. What was described was steamy and just what you'd expect, but it was very little of the story.

I really enjoyed how this story was written. There were different points of view and I thought that really helped create the right atmosphere for when they all came together. Their chemistry is off the charts and their relationship, while unconventional, is one that will hopefully work for them all. While I wouldn't say that this is your typical story, all three authors wrote a compelling romance and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Wow! This book was so good! I loved it! Heavenly is a nursing student, working as a volunteer at the hospital where Ken Beckman is a surgeon. She meets Ken and Seth, a PI, at the hospital when she's helping care for Raine (from the previous Doms series). Heavenly is so innocent but Ken and Seth, who are both Doms, are each trying to win her for themselves. I loved how we got all the backstory on Heavenly and her dad and some of Ken's and Seth's. I'm sure there is much more to come. Yes, it was a bit far-fetched that Heavenly, even though she is a virgin would end up being a little bit of a vixen but it worked for me! Can't wait for the next book!

Finally, I finished this book.
It’s been on my current read shelf for a long time.
The beginning was interesting but then it started getting boring.

This book is so way ahead of its time. At least for me it is.
The people in this book are very open minded. And I’m not talking about the menage. (I love menage.)
I’m sorry but I still live in a very traditional and conservative world and I’m so happy that I am. This over modern shiit is so not for me.
Or maybe it’s fiction.

So talking about the book —-
What a real stupid way to begin a book !!!

It’s prologue actually.
The h is ASKING a guy, not the heroes but a guy, who is friends with the heroes, for SEX. She is begging for onetime fuck with him because she can’t fuck one of the heroes as both are chasing her and she can’t choose. So she is asking this guy to fuck her.
What?
She is already attracted to the heroes and yes she wants to have sex with both of them at the same time but here she is asking another guy for sex.
Thankfully, the guy tells her that this not the right thing to do as the heroes already love her. And then when he meets her again he asks her whether she found anyone to fuck and then asked her quite personal questions which included words like clit , pussy etc.
This all thing really turned me off. We haven’t even met the heroes yet and here the h is having sex talk with another guy.

Normally this bdsm dom-sub shit is not really my thing but I do read them once in awhile.
I loved the way the heroes fight with each other for the heroine. It was funny. This book is almost a love triangle until it becomes a menage.

The scene where the doctor guy takes her to an alternative lifestyle art exihibit (bdsm) was hilarious. He was trying to get her to understand the bdsm lifestyle without telling her that it was bdsm. Means that he was just trying to get her thoughts about what she feels about spanking bondage and all other bdsm shit.

This book is beyond me. Lol. But still it was weirdly interesting. What I liked was that this was a menage where the heroes are not friends or brothers. They hate each other and fight for the h. They bicker like children for her. I was curious to see how they all ends up in a menage relationship.

This book was way out of my comfort zone and I found myself cringing a lot. But I liked the beginning parts.
And I’m definitely not reading the sequel.
One was enough.

Overall: 5/5
Naughty Factor: 4/5
POV: Multi/3rd person

She was euphoria, rapture—everything he hadn’t dared to dream possible. She was stripping his soul bare. She was stealing his f*cking heart.

Oh my! For one, the cliffy has me pulling my hair out. I don’t know how I’m going to make it so long until the next part of the story is released! Once I started, I couldn’t put it down and now I’m diving over that cliff in a free fall.

Heavenly, Beck and Seth’s Story is epic and emotional, funny and frustrating and oh so sexy! The sexual tension between these characters was incredibly thick and SO dang arousing. If you’ve Raine’s story in the previous Doms of Her Life series, then you’ve gotten a glimpse of Beck and Seth [this book is a start of a new series and the previous books mentioned are NOT required reading; however, for enhanced enjoyment of Heavenly’s story and a bit more background on some of the secondary characters in this book - I highly recommend them...they are SO good]. A triad romance isn’t anything new to the BDSM world. It’s not common but when it forms -for me -it is one of the most beautiful things I could imagine.

What’s great about these characters is that this type of relationship is NOT what Beth and Seth want. They have no intention of sharing Heavenly. Each of them were drawn to her from the first moments they each shared and throughout this story, they each try their best to win her affections and attention. She sweet, beautiful, kindhearted and is the walking representation of her name.

His earthly angel was everything. He and Beck were better men with her.

Heavenly brought out sides to these men they didn’t even know they had. She managed to bring out the best of them without even trying. She was just who she was, too innocent to manipulate. She was prideful and strong and wanted to do her best at improving her life’s situation. So much so, she didn’t want the distraction of these men; however, the friendships and shared attraction did manage to give her the occasional moment’s reprieve of the hard times in her life.

”It’s like my blood is boiling and my skin is on fire. Like there’s plenty of air, but I can’t breathe.”
“You’re aroused, angel.” A wide smile crossed Seth’s face. “I hope you like the feeling because we’re going to ramp you up a whole lot more.”

This author trio were the first to bring to life the threesome/triad relationship to me and I have been in love with that dynamic ever since. Their writing has always been outstanding and seamless and the way they capture the essence of the relationship dynamic for the characters that makes it seem so easy and something I envy only shows how amazingly they deliver stories that are so complicated. There is always so much depth. In their characters that I can visualize every part of the story as it all unfolds. These ladies are truly amazing at what they do. I will always one-click. I’m really looking forward to the next installment of Heavenly, Beck and Seth’s story. I’ll be on pins and needles until that day comes.

Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl had me totally engrossed in The Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising saga, from the first page straight through the cliffhanger where I threw my Kindle and cursed all three of them. They gave me wonderful, interesting totally opposite characters that I fell in love with right from the beginning and I didn't know if I should root for either of the male characters to win her heart or hope that they can both accept the other and let the love that she has for them both to flood their hearts.

Dr. Ken was intriguing. He lives by his rules. He knows that even thinking about Heavenly is breaking all of them. But, he has a need to protect her, to help her and to just be there for her. He is used to submissives and he sees one in her. But, all signs point to her being a virgin and that is a line that he won't cross. He feels like she is hiding something from him, can't put his finger on it but won't stop seeing her or taking care of her both at work and in private.

Seth … now here is the enigma. We heard about Ken's past, understand it. But, there is something in his past that haunts him and I have no idea, no guess as to what it is. He seems a little complicated but he has a huge heart. He, too, feels like Heavenly is hiding something but can't put his finger on it. Being an investigator, he does not want to invade her privacy so decides to wait it out. But, when she says she has feelings for Ken, instead of fighting for what could be, he walks away and back to his life in New York.

Heavenly has never had time for men, for dating or for friends. It's an unfortunate situation that brings her into Raine's life and ultimately into Ken and Seth's as well. She can't tell them how she lives, why she always meets them out or what has kept her from living her life to it's fullest. She is falling in love with both men and has no idea how she will choose one over the other. They hate each other and her decision will alienate one of them from her life and she can't bear that. She lost Seth once and was miserable … she can't imagine her life without Ken. But, all it takes is one night, one emergency … all her fears come to life and the truth is out. To her amazement though, the guys decide to work together to help solve her problems and don't give her much choice as to who she would pick if it came down to it.

I loved this story. The characters are complex, there are some twists and turns, some laugh-out-loud moments, and I was thrilled with how everything came together. Ken's story is intriguing. Heavenly's life was heart-breaking. And, as I said, I have no idea what the true story behind Seth and his feelings are. But, I guess that is to come in later books. Maybe that will be the next cliffhanger. If that one gets me to throw my Kindle again, I know three authors that are going to buy me a new one. But, all kidding aside, Shayla, Jenna and Isabella did a beautiful job of bringing these three people together, of giving us characters that I enjoyed investing my time in and what will probably turn out to be a wonderful love story. The Choice was beautiful, exciting, emotional and totally enthralled me. I am definitely looking forward to The Chase.

I found this book deeply unsatisfying-and can't wait to read the next book in the series. I really don't like cliff hangers and this book is one giant setup for a cliffhanger. There's no HEA or guarantee of one, and we're left with more questions than answers. But its so well written and I got so caught up in the characters, that I want more.

The story is a spinoff of the Doms of Her Life series by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob and Isabella LaPearl and involves several characters from Rainey's story. The heroine is shy, overburdened Heavenly, the student nurse who took care of Rainey after her altercation with her father. Vying for her affections are Ken Beck, the sadist/doctor who gave Rainey a place to stay away from the two men who were after her; and Seth Cooper, Liam's P.I. Friend from New York.

Heavenly is a little too sickenly sweet and the fact she is thinking about sleeping with her landlord to keep her ratty apartment for her father (who is slowly dying of a debilitating disease) rather than ask for help is above and beyond. For one thing, as a nurse, she has to know there are social organizations that can help. For another, she and her father are living on raman noodles-in California! If nothing else, avacados and other fresh foods would be cheaper and healthier.

Beck and Cooper, both Doms, know that they can't share and try to force her to chose between them, even to playing pranks to disrupt her dates with the other man, but when they find out about her living situation, they realize they will have to at least deal with other to keep her safe. But can they convince the wary woman that they will support her-when they have their own issues they are hiding.
My other concern with the book was the organization. It starts out at present time, then jumps back to win the trio meet and doesn't come back to the present until the last couple of chapters. This is confusing and unnecessary.

Despite the flaws, though, the characters are intriguing and charming and the reader comes to care what happens to them. The authors draw out the drama and the reader keeps anticipating what will happen next. Expect some menage, some very light BDSM and vivid sex scenes-although there's a bit too much reader interuptus.

boring plus a cliffhanger!!!!

I figured with these power house authors this should be a fantastic book but .....it was really boring until it was just about to end then there is a massive cliffhanger and it will be a year or more before the next one? Oh hell no. Very disappointing and I'm sure I will completely forget about it before the next one rolls around.

One thing i've come to realize with the arrival of kindle app books is that they aren't as long as paperback novels - i remember when the minimum length for the average book was about 300 pages, and now it's standard to see books ranging between, on average, from 175-225 pages. Not that i'm complaining, because i'm not. What i've noticed that it allows so many authors to publish more often. So when i saw that The Choice by this trio was about twice the length of a paperback novel, i was more than a little curious.

It's not their first collaboration together. In truth, i have the previous series that they wrote together, only i never had the chance to read it, and i wish i had. The Choice was something. It was emotional and it makes you think about what's important in your life. These characters spoke to me in way s i wasn't expected. Jenna Jacob is an author that i truly obsess over her BDSM genre because they really give a great image of what this lifestyle is about. Shayla Black, i'm used to reading her erotic novels - i know that she writes BDSM genre, only i haven't really gotten into them yet and i plan on remedying that soon. This book was my first by Isabella LaPearl. I wish i had read books by her before this because i can only image what she can come up with just from reading this book.

There was just something about watching these three try to figure out what they want from one another, from seeing Beck and Seth finally put their differences aside so that they can be there for Heavenly that spoke to me. The fact that these two men knew what Heavenly needed without her having to spell it out to them is one of the things that always impresses me about this lifestyle, and at the same time, i loved to watch this girl become a true woman. To find her own place and to make waves where she went even her status as a submissive.

It was a beautiful story, full of surprises, and one thing is for sure - until these three publish the next book in this series, i'll be revisiting their previous books that they co wrote together. I am incredibly impressed with how well they wrote together, a story that was seamless and spoke to me on many levels.

"It's going to get messy, emotional, and complicated. I hope you're ready for that."

FINAL DECISION: Hot, hot, hot. Just the beginning of the story between Beck, Seth and Heavenly, but definitely a great start. (Readers should be aware that this book ends on the cliffhanger, and there will be more books about this threesome).

THE STORY: Heavenly Young has a complicated life. She is a new nursing student, she is caring for her ill father and she is taking any job she can to make ends meet. Things become even more complicated when she catches the eyes of two dominate alpha men -- both of whom want her but cannot stand one another. Dr. Ken Beckman is a surgeon who also happens to be a sadist. Having a relationship with an innocent and sweet woman is against all his rules, but Beck can't stop himself from obsessing over Heavenly. Seth Cooper, private eye, takes one look at the sweet Heavenly and wants her in bed. But Seth finds himself drawn in by the woman he begins to know. Torn between two men who want her to make a choice between them, Heavenly cannot bring herself to choose.

OPINION: I really enjoyed this one. After reading the first trio romance by these authors, I knew to expect the cliffhanger and thus I wasn't disappointed by the ending and the loose ends. And I think I love this couple more than Raine, Liam and Macen (DOMS OF HER LIFE) because the two men here are so funny in their competition with one another. This book feels lighter and more amusing and while there is clearly drama to come, I'm hoping that some of the humor remains.

Heavenly was slightly annoying to me as this book began. Too naive, too willing to lie to hide things that aren't particularly worth hiding, but as the book continues I begin to see the woman who will be emerging as the series continues. (I also have to admit that her naivete made for some amusing situations). I think at some point, she is going to pull her two men by the ears (or another unmentionable part) and force them to her will.

Beck and Sean are similar men in many ways. They both clearly have some darkness in their pasts that are going to arise as the series continues, but here I found the guys funny and sweetly baffled by Heavenly. These guys are also intensely competitive and nowhere set up for the idea of a long term menage relationship. In many ways, this first book is about "the choice" that these men have to make.

I appreciated that this book allows the relationships to build in a slow fashion. Everyone is introduced and we really get the chance to see what Heavenly sees in each of these guys and also see these men begin to build a friendship with one another.

The book is hot, but I didn't find the sex to be the focus here. It really was about relationship. The highlight was the heat and the humor. Even the cliffhanger was a gentle one so I can look forward to the next book instead of cursing the ending.

WORTH MENTIONING: This is a mfm menage with the focus on the woman in the story. The two men are not involved with one another.

CONNECTED BOOKS: THE CHOICE is the first book in the Doms of Her Life: Heavenly Rising series. This series is, however, connected with the Doms of Her Life series and partially takes place concurrent with that series. You can read this one without having read that series, but there are overlapping characters. And this menage is even introduced in that series.

STAR RATING: I give this book 5 stars.

NOTE: I received an ARC of this book via the author in order to prepare a review. I was not required to write a review or to write a positive review. All opinions contained herein are my own.

4.5 Stars!

If you are a fan of long stories, that dive deep into the characters and creates a world you can get lost in for several hundred pages, this book is it! These authors have always done an incredible job of weaving a story that draws the reader in, holds them, and doesn't let them go. I LOVED this story! The characters come off the pages, and I became so invested in their love story, that I was sad when the book ended leaving me waiting and wanting more. But alas I will have to wait till book two comes out. Fascinating characters, with a real-life love triangle with three-dimensional characters that we all grow to love. If the whole Dom/sub idea isn't your cup of tea, this book still might fit the bill, because it doesn't focus on the D/s relationship and sex as much as it does this young woman and these two men. It departs from the stereotypical D/s story and gives us so much more than that.
Can't wait for more!

The Choice by Shayla Black, Jenna Jacob, Isabella Lapearl

I am voluntarily reviewing this arc.

I love Shayla Black and I love the Doms of Her Life series. I never read these other authors before but I love the book! I love Heavenly (great name). I love Beck. I liked Seth.
I don’t like “cheating”. I know that’s weird when you are talking about a BDSM book, and a book about menage. And technically, cheating didn’t occur, but it did. I almost couldn’t finish the book because of it. I love Heavenly and Beck from the last book. I vaguely remembered Seth. But he pissed med off, and that scared me going forward.
Other than that hiccup, the book was great. It was beautifully paced and funny and sweet. I can’t wait for the next book. But I really want said “cheater” to be dealt with. Let me say again, there was no real cheating, but then again...there was. Sorry if I’m confusing you.

I truly loved this story!
The Choice is, indeed the premise and a very fitting title. You wouldn't know that this book is written by three different authors; it's so seamless.
Heavenly is a strong female character. One who hasn't had life easy but does the best she can without asking for help. She's naive, inexperienced and there's such beauty in her innocence. A fact that can't be denied, especially after she crosses paths with Seth and Beck.
The story is a slow buildup as Heavenly tries to figure out how to make ends meet but mostly she struggles to make a choice between the two doms in her life...Can she choose?
A hot, steamy, READ... My favorite part is when Beck takes Heavenly to the Joshua Lars exhibit featuring alternative lifestyle art. I think this is the most erotic piece I have reason a very long time.

Beck has always been one of my favorite characters in the series, so of course I have been eagerly awaiting this book. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. Unlike in Raine Falling, where I loved both Macen and Liam, I could not care less about Seth. I wasn't a fan of Seth at all when he appeared in Raine Falling and somehow he managed to be even more obnoxious, slimy, and painfully bland in The Choice. I found myself skimming all of Seth's scenes in irritation and boredom.

The whole story felt rushed and boring; a desert of cliches and undeveloped relationships with the only oases being the scenes where Beck and Heavenly were alone. Not to mention the nauseatingly stupid stripper-names (Heavenly and Blessing, fucking really?) and the confusing time-jumps and the forced, uninteresting conflicts.

As for Heavenly herself, she wasn't great. She was very one-dimensional and inconsistent and while that's pretty much to be expected with the female lead of an erotic romance, it's just disappointing after a character like Raine.

Messy, emotional, and un-necessarily complicated. You love them, they love you...travel the world and have adventures together. Wth is so complicated about that?!
Ugh...too many WTH moments...
I get being independent but come on! You'd rather (attempt to) sleep with your landlord for the rent than put your "pride" aside to ask for the money from 2 people that care about you?!
You would rather walk around showing your "virginal" goodies to a bunch of men every day than take help from 2 people that are offering to help until you finish school and get a real job?! (insert head scratch here)! So done with this. No desire for book 2

This book is amazing!!! Have tissues and ice water handy, you're gonna need both! Heavenly's life hasn't been easy, she's trying very hard to further her education and help her seriously ill father. In steps Beck and Seth who both want her. Will they decide to get along and share or will they drive her farther away? Can't wait for the next book!

Amazing! Steamy exciting and intense. The story of Heavenly Young, Ken Beekman and Seth Cooper is a “heavenly” triangulated situation full of sexual tension, mystery and intrigue.
The story flowed easily and flawlessly. The secrets, the build up, the cliffhanger...oh...my...goodness!

When I first saw this book on amazon, I put it on my "Want to read" it sounded different and since I had enjoyed the previous series I couldn't wait....well so disappointed.... Neither man seem to be a real dom you don't read that either play in the club maybe visit and have a drink but thats it... The one Dom is a sadist - yet he only plays in the club one time and is willing to give it up for a virgin vanilla girl? This book really doesn't belong as a BDSM since there really isn't anything close to showing that aspect... Both men soon realize she is a virgin and only one seems to take the time to get to know her but yet he is only having lunch with her to protect her from the other Dr and the nurses... the other is only visiting and yet he thinks its ok to string her along knowing he is leaving back to NY, then gets mad when she admits she likes the dr but doesn't give her time or even ask how she feels about him - and he is a DOM? Both "Doms" fight over her like a dog with a bone and play the childish games of interfering with the other dates just to make sure the other doesn't get her virginity. So all in all the entire book is both men fighting over her like a bone, no sex of any kind, and it isn't until towards the end that they finally learn how bad she is struggling - again a DOM wouldn't have let her get by with that - the Dr knew she wasn't eating right and he didn't check into why? The one nurse causing problems was finally caught and kicked out of the hospital - did she just go away quietly? With all the time she is at the hospital and working at the pizza place who is watching her dad if he is so bad? plus she goes on all the dates with the two men...if her dad was that bad off....just saying.... the book ended with dad back in the hospital for tests - just left it hanging..... Over all this wasn't really a new book but more like a copy and paste from previous books.... Doms who aren't really a Dom, both men fighting over the girl like a bone, oh and don't forget she is a VIRGIN and they do a DP at the very beginning...really? The ending isn't really an ending but a kinda cliff hanger...it just ends.... I really expected a better story from this author as she has some wonderful books but this one seems rushed, didn't flow well and certainly doesn't belong in a BDSM category.... If this one drags out for 3 books like Raine's books did the readers will fade away quickly.... 400 plus pages of nothing - over and over again.

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Heavenly Young is a naïve young woman that knows nothing about love or being in love. with the way her mother left and her father being sick, she had to grow up really fast. She didn't get the chance to grow from a teenager to a young adult because she had to become her father's caregiver. Now she is a volunteer at the hospital, taking internet classes to become a nurse and working a night job to help pay the bills and cover her Dad's medicine.
Beck and Seth were drawn to her from the moment they saw her. They haven't had feelings like this before and they each want her for themselves. So they will fight for her feelings, even play a few jokes on each other to win her over.
Both men will figure out that they will have to work together to get Heavenly to see that they just want to protect her and help her. Can they work together to make that happen? Will she be able to let them in and tell them about her past?
I found this story well written and I would not have known it was by three authors if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. It flows very well and is a great story that will have you on the edge of your seat at times. There were a few places that dragged for me but not enough to make me stop reading. There is a big cliffhanger, so be prepared for that. I can't wait to see what happens next. And I need to go back and read Raine's books because I haven't read those yet.
