AMY WAESCHLE is the author of the bestselling Cassidy Kincaid mystery series, the Meg Dawson Murder Mystery series, and the standalone books Going Over the Falls, Feeding the Fire, and the surf memoir Chasing Waves.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and after a career in outdoor education and traditional teaching, she dedicated her energy to writing. As a fan of mysteries since childhood, creating sassy, brilliant female characters solving crimes has been a natural fit.
Amy likes to surf, run mountain trails, travel, and spend time with her family. She and her husband live in Poulsbo, Washington with their two daughters.
I really enjoyed reading these 13 brilliant short stories (and only 1 author I had read before) so now I have a dozen more authors to look out for. You will enjoy reading these stories with the common theme of a female hero. Highly recommended.
HER FINAL MISTAKE By Amy Waeschle 3 Stars This story kept me on the edge of my seat but there were too many moving parts, too little logic, and no clear plot lines. All the characters were superficial and the protagonist (Meg) took ridiculously unrealistic, dangerous chances. The ending was sad and dark with a vague hope of a better future but no real satisfaction. JASMINE by Blair Howard 4 Stars Good mystery! Good plot, good clues, realistic dialogue, interesting characters, and, wonder of wonders, no erotic scenes! SET HIM FREE by Steven Moore & Luke Richardson Sorry, but I couldn’t finish this story. I read for happy entertainment; violent child abuse does not meet that standard - even if things work out in the end.
I absolutely adored ALL of the stories in this set! You simply can’t go wrong with this collection. These stories are packed with likable, interesting characters, intrigue, mystery and suspense. Every single story is guaranteed to pique your interest, keep you captivated and make you want to stay up past your bedtime reading!
*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.
This was a very good collection of stories. As with any collection, some better than others. However it is on average very good. Excellent leading women. Strong characters with strong beliefs.
WOW. 13 mysteries in one book. There are cops, journalists, martial artists, voodoo and more. A fascinating collection of stories that you won't want to miss. Some will make you smile, some will make you sad and others will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
