I really enjoyed reading these 13 brilliant short stories (and only 1 author I had read before) so now I have a dozen more authors to look out for. You will enjoy reading these stories with the common theme of a female hero. Highly recommended.

HER FINAL MISTAKE By Amy Waeschle
3 Stars
This story kept me on the edge of my seat but there were too many moving parts, too little logic, and no clear plot lines. All the characters were superficial and the protagonist (Meg) took ridiculously unrealistic, dangerous chances. The ending was sad and dark with a vague hope of a better future but no real satisfaction.

Good mystery! Good plot, good clues, realistic dialogue, interesting characters, and, wonder of wonders, no erotic scenes!
SET HIM FREE by Steven Moore & Luke Richardson
Sorry, but I couldn’t finish this story. I read for happy entertainment; violent child abuse does not meet that standard - even if things work out in the end.

This was a very good collection of stories. As with any collection, some better than others. However it is on average very good. Excellent leading women. Strong characters with strong beliefs.

This is definitely a deserving read.

WOW. 13 mysteries in one book. There are cops, journalists, martial artists, voodoo and more. A fascinating collection of stories that you won't want to miss. Some will make you smile, some will make you sad and others will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
