2022 bk 191. First - Chase has gone to a darker style of cover - not sure that I like it as well as the earlier designs. Then again, this book is darker. Eden is being stalked, the mayoral election is not pleasant, a strange werewolf is murdered right outside her barn, and her family knows about her human boyfriend. If I had known it had the ending it did, I would have waited until the next book was ready to publish because now I'm left making up all sorts of scenarios.

Birds of A Fury is Book 12 in the Federal Bureau of Magic Series by Annabel Chase.
This series is in my top 10 all-time favorite series of ALL TIME!

I love Eden so much. There is alot of drama with her family as her relationship has come out and the whole family is not happy.

Add to that a dead body right in her family's back yard, Eden has her hands full.

I absolutely LOVED this book and all the characters are so complex and well written.

The world building is fantastic with a multi-layered mystery that kept me glued to my pages.

The reveal at the end left me with my jaw wide open.

Highly recommend this incredible book and entire series! Its #furytime!

It just gets better

I love this series. My only regret is the length of time I have to wait for the next installment.
One thing about this particular book...I don't normally have favourite scenes but this time, I do. It involves Eden's niece Olivia, her doll Miriam and their sleepover ar Auntie Eden's. I was both hilariously entertained and grossed out.LOLOL!

I was seriously disappointed with the end of this book. SERIOUSLY. I am tired of wonderful series jumping the proverbial shark.

So disappointed.

extraordinarily awesome paranormal urban fantasy/cozy mystery series

This is an exceptionally entertaining paranormal cozy mystery/urban fantasy series. The spectacular cast of characters in a unique and entertaining storyline. Eden fury is a Paranormal witch as well as an actual fury. She also happens to be a federal agent. She began her career with the FBI until one day and incident happened chasing down a suspect who turned out to be a vampire that she Accidentally siphoned off his abilities and temporary had the ability of being a vampire and bit her partner. She was then transferred from the FBI to the federal Bureau of magic which is the magical equivalent of the FBI. She was in transferred from where she was in San Francisco back to her hometown of chipping cheddar. Well she became the agent in charge of that local office. The town is a mix of humans and paranormal and there is a dormant portal to other world a paranormal world were most paranormal‘s originate. Her family is a mixture of witches and demons. Her father a vengeance Diemond and her mother a dark witch are divorced and her father is remarried to a vampire and lives next door on the property to her mother and her grandmother another dark witch and her aunt Hayes semi former dark witch live. Eden lives in a refurbished barn on the middle of the two property lines. She is dating the local sheriff a human and her mother and grandmother do not approve. Read on and find out what adventures Eden and the rest of the characters get into this time. It is intense at moments and will throw you a twist here and there. Enjoy

I’m conflicted

Nobody appreciates how hard it is to write a review without spoilers! Maybe I’m getting to old for some books. I agree with the wicked witches while also thinking they are short sighted. Is he really 100% human? Their magnetism, and his aunts oddness, would suggest not but it’s a book so who knows. Even if he is, she’s immortal, so who cares unless her eggs have a shelf life. That’s another weird continuity blimp, the immortality was never actually discussed between them. It was first mentioned during a council meeting, like so much, it flew right over his head. Its written now like it was discussed which is false. It’s like the side characters are holding up signs saying the thoughts intelligent readers have but the main characters are in their pg fairy tale story bubble. These books walk a fence trying to stay pg13 that keeps them from their true potential. I could go off on a tangent about that but I’ll stick to this book. I literally rolled my eyes when the why was revealed, average people have bigger secrets in their bedside drawers. This book does end on a cliff hanger but I’m finding it hard to care.

Just yesterday I told someone these were more lighthearted than some of the other books by this author. Well, I guess that's not exactly true anymore. This was pretty serious and I absolutely loved the ending. I don't love having to wait almost a year for the next book, but I know Annabel Chase writes several different stories and is a wife and mother as well as an author. Also, she deserves to have some to live and enjoy her own life beyond her work and duties, so I pre-ordered the next book and will wait for it to land on my Kindle when it's available.

I love this series and have enjoyed every book. This one went a bit further than the others when her family decided she could no longer date Chief Fox and threatened to wipe his memories. In other news, there's a murder she solves but discovers there's someone higher up so she takes steps to set spies in place to capture the person she suspects. So a lot of drama and an unexpected ending. A great read that was captivating and had me captivated to the end.

I hate to say it, because objectively this was a pretty good and somewhat dark and intense book (especially for a cozy), but I just...didn't like it that much, especially compared to the others. Though I did enjoy seeing Eden finally just have ENOUGH of all the bullshit, in a somewhat shocking way even though it fit the world. The cliffhanger was... I don't really like them at the best of times, and this one mostly just left me annoyed and frustrated.

The interval between books in this series has been getting longer and longer so I suspect it will peter out soon in favour of whatever comes next, so I should say now that overall it has been one of my favourites and I'll be sorry to see it go.

It was an okay read, most of what I like with this series in it. Eden’s funny, the well known characters hilarious as always and her love with Sawyer progressing nicely.
Unfortunately, there were also things in it again I don’t appreciate as much, like the case being too obvious and Eden taking too long to get there. Also, we were left with lots of strings still up in the air to be resolved later. That’s okay for a series in general, but I thought getting there was too constructed and rushed in the end.
Also, there was a really big cliffhanger that I hope is resolved already in the next book as I really don’t care for it to be dragged over several books.
As you can see though, I plan to continue reading this series, so all good.

Eden snaps

Whilst dealing with the murder of a werewolf whose body was on the boundary of her parents properties the truth about her relationship with Sawyer comes out.

The mystery body takes a while to properly identify but it will take a little help from a surprising direction to capture the killer.

Eden's war with her mother and grandmother comes to a head when they threaten Sawyer. It's time for Eden to stand her ground.

Sometimes it feels like she's not actually working on the case.. to a point where she's all but forgotten about it.. extraneous bits that are rather boring and others that don't fit with characters previous portrayals. Bit bored.

Eden’s relationship with Sawyer is out and her family is not happy. But before she can worry about that, there is the problem of a dead werewolf in her backyard.
No one knows who the werewolf is, what he was doing and the only clue is a magical trace of another werewolf.
She also has a witch, Emily, who seems to have a bit of hero worship and is following Eden around. And a vampire is dating Sassy.
Not a boring life.
This book has a nice little mystery, interesting characters, interesting problems for Eden and a lot of humour. It also has a big surprise ending. Definitely have to read the next book.
I found it a quick, easy read and very enjoyable.

My God, couldn’t put this one down! There is one Fury who’s had it tough!
I can only say that I truly hope Annabel Chase will find the time to write the next one sooner than now planned, because I am sure many of us are holding their breath after reading this one! Of course it is super good. I love this series! But the down side of course is, that one can not wait to read how it will go further, especially if we have to wait a year (next one is out March 2023) 🙈 😓 Guys it ends on a cliffhanger! Be prepared! But still worth it of course 💜

There is so much going on in this one, it's challenging to keep a handle on it!

Of course, Eden's personal life is a wreck, as is evident in the first eleven books of the series, but it levels up when her lover is discovered. Add to that a crooked mayoral election, a demon on the loose, and a dead body in her yard, and you get more than the usual mayhem that is her life. I love the ending of this one and think that it was about time!

This one is a home run, and a no-hitter for the home team, Annabel. Well done!

I've really enjoyed this series and it's bittersweet that this is nearly over.

Poor Eden at the end as well. I will say this book was a bit of a struggle probably up to 30% or so. I just couldn't get into it and I didn't really fancy reading it completely when I had before I started. It did redeem itself and the mystery was pretty good. I don't think we'll figure out what the full mystery was until next book or even the end book as it seems related to the storyline ongoing.

Can't wait for next book; which I maaaay have already started...

Another great book in this series

A bit of cliffhanger of ending so I can't wait for the next book in these series. Some good plot twist in this one. And Olivia doll she had at the sleep over oh my it great descript probably my favorite parody if book plus Olivia is minor character in series but she makes impact on Edna and she is my favorite. But great series unique take on theme of witches werewolf demons etc.

A werewolf does right between her family homes. So Eden is now tasked to find out who this werewolf is and who murdered him along the way her mom and grandma do not want Eden dating Chief fox and is threatening to meddle.

I have to say I don’t know how I’m going to wait until next year to read the next book. This book ends in this like cliff hanger. I really hope a happy ending occurs. I’m curious to see if the next book is the last book or if this series will continue.

Just keep getting better

Eden always has her ha d

Eden always has her hands full and sometimes her wings too. She doesn't know who the wrong suspect is until she finally finds the right one but even then she discovers a much bigger problem. New characters add to the trouble but Eden is determined to fix everything without her families black magic, until she can't. If you enjoy paranormal and unusual you'll enjoy Eden and Chipping Cheddar.

Holy Smokes!

If you want to see what happens whenEden gets pushed, well this is the book to read. Eden is working hard to solve her latest case and everything is not as it seems. She is also trying to keep her stalker at bay, her family is also giving her a hard time about her relationship with Sawyer and she has to pull deep from her arsenal to get things resolved while keeping an eye on Sassy too. This book is packed with everything and the end is wow!

Breaking point

Eden is finally at her wits end with her family after a murder happens at the property boundary. While I didn't see the twists in the mystery, I'm even more shocked by the rest of the underlying conflict and what happens next. Her family is showing who they are with words and actions and Eden is done.

Loved this one

Although this book ends on a cliffhanger, I really enjoyed it. I've liked the characters from the beginning of the series, and the setting is fun. The protagonist continues to evolve, and there is promise of more developments in town to keep her busy. I'm eager to read the next book!

Annabel Chase is a great author is now one of my favorites. I don't think Eden mother and grandmother should be able to tell Eden who she can see. I think Chief Fox and Eden would make a great couple. Now that they tampered with his mind I think Eden should turn them in. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.

The plot thickens

Relationships--family, friends, political, and romantic--get so much more complicated in book 12 of this series. It features an intriguing mystery of course, but where this will all lead is the true mystery.

Love this series!

A fun series about a fury brought up by black magic witches but strives to be good. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. This book ended with an uncertain future and I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Awww!

I refuse to never write the subject matter of a book or anything spoilers but I will say the end kinda hurt my heart a little. I hope our sweet Fury can fix things. The book was amazing as always. I'm going to have a hard time waiting for the next book. Damn evil witches!

Great Read

A real fun read. Family troubles, a mysterious death, and a lots of humor. The lovers have a real problem on their hands, mother and grandmother. The dead guy is problem that can be solved, but the family is a problem that only a fury can solve.

I just love this series. Well, all of Ms Chase books to be honest with you. In this book Fury is coming to certain conclusions about her life and her relationship with her dark family. Its an explosive ending that leaves you really wanting to see how it plays in the next book.

Annabel chase has finally let the fury out to play. It took a powerful incentive to get agent fury to really cut loose, but she had finally had enough and reacted. Sadly, we won't know until the next book how it comes out!
