"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" is a book written about a little mouse that was given a cookie. The story goes on with all the other things that the mouse might ask for after you give it a cookie. For instance, if you gave it a cookie, it will ask for a glass of milk. Then he will ask for a straw for the milk. After that, he will ask to look in the mirror to see if he has a milk mustache, and the story goes on.

The main character in this story is the mouse, who likes to eat cookies and make sure he looks nice. The boy who gives him the cookie is pictured but is never really mentioned.

The story takes place in some boy's house by the look of the front cover and all the pictures inside. I think it is in modern times because of all the things that the boy gets out of his cupboards.

The main theme in this book is being kind, because the boy had to be kind enough to bring the mouse inside his house and treat him to a cookie and a nice glass of milk.

I thought "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" was a very short and easy book to read. I would recommend it to a person who wants to read a short book that is interesting.

This is a funny and nice book about taking a mouse to school and how he will want to do more and more. It is nicely illustrated and has good detail about the mouse and what it will want to do.

This is a great series. The one I want to focus on is if you give a mouse a muffin. It follows a pattern and teaches kids sequence of events. I would use it for sequence, and place it in a unit about animals. I like the book because it is cute and will keep the kids attention. It starts out saying if you give a mouse a muffin, and goes to the next thing he will ask for.

Great series for Kindergarten involving different animals in different situations. The stories are very creative, and the children loved them. Great way to introduce ways of creative writing and allowing children to come up with ideas on their own after reading all 5 stories. Teacher can introduce a writing topic for the day "If you give a rat a..." and so on.

I love these book sets! They are great to use for teaching cause and effect to children. To promote good writing to children, this would be a great read aloud lesson and have them write their own If- Then (cause- effect) book.

These are some of my favorite kid books. We read them all the time. It's all about being silly, but also about having a predictable ending and the girls love that.

I liked the original book, but some of the others bug me. Some of the sequence is a bit of a stretch and don't make sense to me. The kids really like them though.

These are so fun and cute! I mean if you did not read these as a kid or did not read them to any children, read them atleast to yourself! But it is more fun with a little one.

I don't LOVE this books, but the kids sure do! The repetition and familiar pattern never seems to get old to the kid audience...guess that's a good thing.

Cute set that tells the same theme of animals getting carried away when either a little boy or little girl that invite them in to their homes.
