Dips, Disruptions & Destiny offers powerful encouragement and practical steps for anyone who is struggling with fear or failure. That's all of us! But there is good news. Even though we will face dips and disruptions in life, there is hope for our future.

Pastor David Hawkins helps us to wrestle with the questions we all ask. Why would a loving God allow this to happen to me? How do I endure the long seasons of waiting? Where is God when I need His help the most? What is the purpose of this pain? Pastor Hawkins vulnerably shares his own story and he guides us through the ups and downs of the story of Joshua from the Bible. We learn that there is a reason why, that there is a way out, that we are not alone, and that our lives have purpose - a destiny!

There is wisdom, encouragement and hope in this book for everyone. Pastor Hawkins writes in a casual, conversational style that is easy to read. He incorporates humor, Biblical truth and loving encouragement as a friend would do when talking to you face to face. There are so many quotable "Hawkins-isms" that I can't wait to share with my friends. This book moved me to tears as I contemplated my current struggles with physical illness and pain. But these are happy tears because Pastor Hawkins has reminded me that none of my struggles are in vain, and that I am deeply loved by God.

Dips, Disruptions & Destiny is rich in scripture for the Christian reader and I think it's relatable for the non-Christian reader as well. This book is excellent for a small group study. Pastor Hawkins provides thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter and references for further study at the end of the book. I'm already reading it for the second time, making notes for my small group discussion. I can't wait to share this encouraging book with my friends!

A book I wanted but didn't know I needed

Having heard David speak over the years, I was excited to support his book. What struck me was just how much I actually needed the book. I have experienced many dips and disruptions but wasn't always cognizant of how those experiences aligned to shape my destiny. Taking a journey through the life of Joshua coupled with the author's personal life experiences has given me a new perspective on how to faithfully navigate my own challenges and trust God in it all. I'll use this book as a resource to share with friends and family who share with me that they're facing dips and disruptions.
