How do you prove you're innocent when someone has stolen your face?
Twenty-nine-year-old hairstylist Daphne Ferebee, spends her days using her considerable talents as a glamour witch to make her clients beautiful. Her boyfriend loves her, and their relationship is moving in the right direction. Her quirky family of witches always has her back...or so she thinks.
After a witch dies in Palmetto Point, a video surfaces of Daphne attacking the woman. It never happened. But Daphne’s cousin Charlie — an investigator with magical law enforcement — trusts the evidence rather than her family. Even Daphne’s boyfriend questions her innocence when she goes on the run.
Daphne has dedicated her life to using glamour to make others look good. Now, someone out there may be using magic to make her look bad. She won’t rest until she finds out who.
A murderer has stolen her face, her family and possibly her future. To clear her name, she'll have to go it alone, and believe in herself, even if no one else does.
I like these characters and their world. I will still read the next book if it’s part of my kindle unlimited. This just wasn’t my favorite. The author is talented and can do better than this. Everything was just so contrived. Is there a word quota on these never ending series? The books are so skinny when a little meat could make them truly good. Great efforts were put into describing how they liked their oatmeal for breakfast. Whole little chapters of what someone else was doing that didn’t really amount to anything but breakfast and what they were thinking. You were bored to find out what they were doing then bored when that plot point happened because you knew what was going on when the focus of this book daphne didn’t. The family members that weren’t the focus acted out of character or lacked personality. I would recommend this book to put you to sleep.
It took me a wee bit to get into this one, I think it’s because I was annoyed with Charlie for not 100% believing in Daphne. One I got passed that I flew through the book.
I really love coming back to this series over and over. The characters are interesting and the series has a great flow. I have to say that this wasn’t my favorite but I did enjoy getting a glimpse into Daphne’s past. There’s nothing like a fast, fun mystery with a paranormal aspect. I’m looking forward to what’s next.
I love the character of Tom. Especially when he swoops in to save the day, and Charlie. I was sorry that his character was only mentioned and not a part of the story. This story did not have the mystery that I found in the other books.
I’m a fan of this entire series which is why I was so baffled & disappointed with this installment. What happened to the strong, smart and savvy cousins made no sense to me. 🤷🏼♀️ I guess when you have high expectations not all of them are gonna hit it out of the park.
The premise was great but the execution was so drawn out. The inconsistencies in character and story made me dizzy.
The Charlie I’ve grown to love would never have just turned on her family that easily. They have a strong bond that’s what makes the series so great! The whole, “Yeah she’s my cousin, but anyone is capable of murder” was so out of character. And her attitude on top of it was downright annoying.
Athena, “Miss Positivity” & “Miss Informed” in the earlier books became judgmental and negative. She jumped on circumstantial evidence without much research at all. She also knew the family and suddenly acted as though they were just strangers to her who “were capable of murder.” Again, out of character.
Though we didn’t know Daphne well, she never seemed ditzy and dumb in the other books, but she did here. Regardless of memory loss, she just seemed so oblivious about so much (despite being told repeatedly) it was frustrating to read. She was hurt and angry about how Charlie treated her, and rightly so, but then she just forgives her & Athena like it was nothing?!
I was so annoyed and put off by Charlie and Athena in this book I began rooting for Daphne to make them pay somehow. And nothing mattered to them until Athena was a victim.
And the countless times we were told about Mr Ryan’s daughter and the suspicions surrounding her, and no one followed through on a background check? We never did find out what happened to her husbands.
I don’t buy Evangeline’s storyline either. I don’t think she’d give any man, let alone one who abandoned her child m, the time of day. She doesn’t need a man. Again I see them all as much stronger than how they behaved in this book.
Barely Introducing readers to the murderer while leading them on for 400 pages just to make the ending unpredictable just seemed like a dirty trick to me. I thought maybe it might be a callback to the woman we met in the beginning of the book who was selling the scam potions. But in the end it just felt like a let down. Like who was that?! Never invested in that character we knew so little about so I didn’t really care.
The Palmetto Point Witches have always been a reading treat and have kept me up turning pages late into the night, but this one put me to sleep many times. Sad that it’s the next to last one in the series and that this book turned Daphne into a moody adolescent imbecile. At least Lorna was a hoot. 🐦⬛
Favorite line, “I would personally like to pull the Jenga piece out that makes his tower fall into a pile of kindling.”
Despite my disappointment, I am looking forward to the final book and hoping those strong characters and exciting storytelling re-emerges to go out with a bang.

I was excited to read this book and then got absolutely disgusted with all the grammatical errors and plot errors. Additionally, I was disgusted that Charlie acted the way she did in the beginning, which was COMPLETELY out of character for her. This whole book just fell flat and wasn’t as well thought out as the other ones. At one point I was really screaming at the book and almost quit reading it when Daphne wouldn’t even bring up the fact that her father thought his daughter was behind it. I know it was a plot twist but the way the characters were handling new bits of information was just bizarre and sometimes totally incorrect. (For example, Daphne reacted totally surprised TWICE to learn the lady was dead.) I’ll be hard pressed to keep reading this author after this disaster. And who were the Beta readers? Why didn’t they find all these mistakes before it was published?
Giving it 2 stars because at an extremely high level, the plot concept was intriguing, just not executed and written out as thoroughly and properly as it should/could have been.

First, let me say that I LOVE this series and I LOVE this author. That being said, perhaps I expect MUCH from each installment. I felt like this book was thrown together and so many of the 'cliffhangers' were more of a "DUH" moment. I was looking forward to this one as I feel like there are so many cool avenues that this book could have taken with the Glamour witch. However, I was definitely let down and disappointed. Honestly, I got a little bored, and that NEVER happens in this series. Anyway, I'm looking forward to number 14 and learning more about Charlie's new future!
Man there was some messed up happening in this book! It was all about Daphne and her quest to prove her innocence of the murder of a witch. And it is a quest for her because of all the places she had to travel to in order to hide from the DOL.
Daphne’s fingerprints are found at the crime scene along with her DNA. Then a video with Daphne killing the victim is seen by DOL which makes it nearly impossible for her cousin Charlie, who works for DOL, to believe wholeheartedly in Daphne’s innocence.
Amongst all this chaos Daphne discovers her dad isn’t actually dead and also that she has a sister! A sister that hates her and is jealous of their dad’s attention to Daphne.
Talk about messy messy! However, Daphne does find out who her true and loyal friends are. Hopefully we see Lorna in the next and last book because she was awesome!
A lot of this book made me so angry at the injustice of it. It enraged me that Charlie would be so quick to dismiss the thought of one of her friend’s she’s known two years as a murderer, yet she’d sit there and question whether she thought the cousin she’s known most of her life as a murderer. What a bunch of hooey!
Through the last twelve books Daphne has always had Charlie’s back no matter what and believed in her, but then when Daphne needed Charlie…
By the way, who’s Kayla and why did she only appear a few times for only a sentence or two, yet she’s kinda important to the storyline…
The 14th and final book of this series is next: “Haunted Paradise”
I love this whole set. This family of witches are funny and strong. They kick butt and find romance at the same time. They know their family so well that they can almost read their minds. Daphne is a strong individual although she does act a bit childish at times. Her head seems to just go to the worst scenario before thinking things over first. She is her own sabotager in her own life I believe. She is strong though and pulls through. She is quick to defense instead of trying to take the time to breathe and think of the possibility that something could be wrong. Instead of going to her family right away she keep what she is feeling to herself which makes her look even more guilty. Charlie knows daphne is innocent deep down but as a DOL agent, she must follow all the evidence where it leads. Can the girls clear Daphnes name and reputation so she doesn’t lose her business and her freedom?
The Glamour Witch, 13th book in the Witches of Palmetto Point Series by author Wendy Wang, centers on Daphne who is accused of murdering another witch. Or, at least, there is a video with her face, and a crime scene with her fingerprints and her blood DNA, that confirm she is the murderer.
Daphne’s witch trait or special ability is that she can make herself and others more beautiful than they were and, as well, she can adopt a glamour that makes her appear to be anyone else. Apparently she is not the only witch with the glamour ability. Sadly, with the evidence against her, Daphne’s own family and her boyfriend doubt her innocence. She has no choice but to run and hide for her own safety.
This book started out to be not one of my favorites in this series but it quickly picked up steam. It is slightly different from the others in that the starring characters changed. Nonetheless, it is another great and entertaining read.
Just love this series! Daphne is the main focus of this story, but the other characters continue to evolve and make appearances to push the whole things along. We're not treated to Scott, Charlie's horrid ex, in this one but his energetic doppelganger certainly makes an appearance! I really enjoyed Daphne evolve in this one. In the other stories, she's always a light and flighty character but there's some real depth to her here, even a darker side, which just delights me.
Favorite line ~ "Daphne refused to be intimidated by the small room with the stark, light-sucking gray walls and terrible overhead lighting. She sat across from a mirrored wall. Nobody looked good under fluorescence."
Another exciting adventure with characters who feel like old friends!
This time it was Daphne's turn to have her life turned upside down. Her favorite client at her salon turns out to be her biological father, her very wealthy father. Her half sister isn't thrilled to let her at all and his assistant is poisoning him to the point he almost dies! Throw in 2 dead witches that Daphne is charged with murdering and you have an exciting adventure to unravel. Wendy Wang has done it again!
This is a wonderful series. The author has a habit of using the term, 'made their way' and shined rather than shone, and the occasional typo, but the stories are well written, well told, interesting, riveting, and delightful. I'd say these stories are genius, world class, and I wish the author the best. I'm sorry this is the last in the series. Writing a huge number of books, like this, can be very draining, and I hope the author is taking good care of herself. 5 stars. Great stories. Highly recommend.
Front and center this book is Daphine who has been in all the previous books but never fully featured. She is the hairstylist who owns her own shop and uses glamour magic to make all her clients look extra special.
Poor Daphine's life is upended when someone who looks like her murders another witch. If that wasn't bad enough someone from her past she knows nothing about returns which effects both her and her mother.
I like Wendy Wang's series "Witches of Palmetto Point". This is number 13 and it didn't disappoint. The characters are interesting as are the story lines. There are a family of witches with each one having their own special.power. Each story is unique based on their gifts with a mystery involved that must be solved. Very enjoyable, fun reads with a bit of the supernatural added.
The Glamour Witch :Witches of Palmetto Point book 13 by Wendy Wang
This was some book. Wendy has a great imagination and this was a great book. So many good and bad people I had a little problem them all straight. I highly recommend all her books and if you love paranormal mysteries you will love Wendy's books. She has great characters you love and this series has some very bad ones too. Diana Romano
I loved this mixture of a family that feels so very real; a family that is facing one of their own being charged with murder. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story led me to a different line of thought, only to be turned into another line of thought. I can hardly wait to read her next book.
I have been a big fan of Wendy Wang for a long time now. Her characters are so relatable and endearing that when you finish her book, you find yourself missing them as if they were actually part of your own family. This last book was such a page turner I couldn't put it down! The story was amazing and I highly recommend it to everyone.
I have to say....as soon as I finish a Witches of Palmetto Point book, I'm sad because it's over. Wendy Wang has created such an amazing community in this series that I am quickly sucked into each story.
Daphne's story is deep...lots of twists and turns. Although the "whodunit" is solved, there's more that needs to be uncovered!
This story line was fantastic and fascinating! I loved the newest characters and hope they'll appear in future books. It's great Daphne now has a real father in her life. Looking forward to seeing what develops. I'm definitely looking forward to book #14!
Another hit. Although i love learning more about other family members lives other than Charlie, i just say they don't hold my attention like the ones when Charlie is on a case full of ghosts, suspense and thrills. But i also love how the family drama and the the family's love are integrated! I LOVE THIS SERIES!
This was the BEST Wendy Wang Palmetto Point book! Nail biting, action packed, twists and turns that lock you into the book. Page turner, be prepared to yell at the characters and cheer. I could not put this book down, even to sleep! It has been a while since I have been so mesmerized by a book and felt emotional to a book. I feel so energized after reading this book.
Again it was nice getting to know another one of the cousins. I love this series & the women in it. If you enjoy magic & mystery this is a great series. I would suggest you start from the beginning. The author will have you wrapped up in the love of family. The storylines are full of suspense & will keep you wanting more.
Why is it that when I start reading a Wendy Wang book I cannot put it down. What an amazing story teller! This book was filled with fun revelations and the coming together of old friends and new to get to the truth. I enjoyed it immensely!
This is an entertaining story. As usual, the characters felt like family, there was suspense and romance, and the plot was clever. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next.
I thought I had it figured out pretty close to the end,but I was wrong! I really love the characters in this series and Wendy didn't disappoint this time either!!
I hope this isn't the last of the series. I have enjoyed these characters like family. This book has a lot of twists and just good adventures. Daphne really filled out as an important part of the family. She proved there is no such thing as "just a hair stylist".
This book was so much fun to read! Until this book, Daphne has been the least explored character. We learn more about her business and her ability with glamour’s. When she becomes a suspect in a murder, she pulls out all the stops to clear her name.
Wendy Wang out did herself on this one folks it was truly entertaining to say the least. I love how she gets into all her characters in different books. If you haven't read this yet well what our you waiting for you will love it.
I love all of the books of witches of palmetto point, and this one was no different. They are all really good books and have a lot of good plots and twists and turns and shakes and ups and downs to keep you on the edge of your seat until the book is over.
I love this series and this book was particularly engrossing. I cannot wait until the next one! If you are a fan of this genre, I think you would be a fan of Wendy's "Witches of Palmetto" series.
