As an Award Winning and International Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo Best Selling Author, I have always been an avid reader. I joke that I "cut my romance teeth" on the old historical romance books. I’ve written as a hobby for over 30 years. In 2014, I finally gave in to the characters in my head pleading for their story to be told. Thus, Emma's Home was created.
My first novel, Emma's Home became an Amazon Best Seller in 3 categories within the first month of publishing. Its success was followed by the rest of the Fairfield Series and then led into the Love's Series. From there I have continued with the romantic suspense Alvarez Security Series and now the Saints Protection & Investigation Series.
My books are filled with sweet romance and hot sex; mystery, suspense, real life characters and situations. My heroes are alphas, take charge men who love the strong, independent women they fall in love with. I worked as a counselor in a high school and have been involved in education for the past 30 years. I recently retired and now can spend more time devoted to my writing.
I have been married to a wonderfully patient man for 35 years and have 2 adult, very supportive daughters. When writing, my dog or one of my cats will usually be found in my lap!
Blessing is back, with her uncanny knowledge of what awaits the men in the Atlanta Airport USO, and that alone is enough to one-click this series. In Home Port, Maryann Jordan has a crossover with her LSI team, this time LSI West Coast. Chris bumps into Stella (a name that literally means star, and who becomes in many ways his guiding light) on the plan, and through a set of mishaps, canceled flights, etc., joins her on her road trip to California. That they unwittingly find themselves in danger puts this firmly in the purview of LSI West Coast, and you will need to read this! Stella is, like so many of Maryann Jordan’s female characters, a joy to read and someone you would want for a friend, and I actually missed her when I finished the book. So pleased to see another set of Long Road Home books, Blessing herself, and more of LSI here too.
This is book seven in The Long Road Home and A Cross Over To Lighthouse Security and Investigations West Coast and it is Chris and Stella's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Chris is a former seal and now retired from the U.S. Navy and now flying home to California where his new job working for The Lighthouse Security Investigations West Coast to start his new life and also connect with his mom again as he hasn't seen her for a long time but when his flight has many problems and he meets Stella a beautiful and sassy woman his organised life takes him on a different path and he finds himself driving across country with her. Stella is a artist and has a unique way of seeing life and she talked a lot, sees things differently and is full of life but when she decides to drive across country to California to take some photos and get some inspiration for her work and she is surprised when Chris decides to travel with her. When Chris and Stella decide to take the scenic route the connection and chemistry between them gets stronger but then things start to happen and bullets start flying they know that they are in danger but why and who is what they don't know so they will have to call for help and stay hidden until they are rescued and just when they think everything is sorted out danger comes around again but will they get out alive and safe. I absolutely loved Chris and Stella and how she showed him that you can move forward with out always having a tight reign on your life and it is okay to change your plans and they were so perfect together even though they were the total opposite in every way and the outcome was just what I was hoping for. The characters and storyline pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I just couldn't put this book down and read it in one sitting until the early hours of the morning as it was so addictive. Maryann Jordan is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention and on the edge of their seats and the depth of her story's are what makes you go back time and time again to read her book's. I definitely recommend you read this book and other's by her and you will not be disappointed.
Another excellent story in the wonderful Long Road Home series that’s is a crossover into the author’s Lighthouse Security Investigation - West Coast so it’s a win all round for me. Navy Seal Chris Andrews has left the teams after 14 years service, he knew it was time for new & different challenges, the first of which is actually making it to his new job when faced with airport issues. A true alpha protector his focus is 100% on his goals, he may be used to adapting and changing from plan a to plan b or c but spontaneous he is not and reaching the destination is everything so he can devote all his attention to his new job and the journey is just a means to an end. Then he meets free spirit Stella on the plane. Stella is a shining light with a beautiful and spontaneous soul. When she decides to ditch plane travel and complete the rest of her journey to California by car Chris finds himself accompanying her, for her protection of course. Stella teaches Chris that it’s ok to step off the path, soak in the sunset and reaching your destination has little meaning if you miss all the good stuff on the journey. When Stella is placed in danger because of something she unwittingly sees on their trip, Chris has all the skills necessary to keep her safe with the added backup of his new employers but can the rigid structured former Seal learn the lessons of his journey and open his heart to having it all. I love the story Maryann Jordan has woven full of meaning, Stella is simply a gorgeous character, Chris will make you want to love & shake him in equal measure, there’s angst, action, suspense and romance but above all grasp life with both hands and watch every sunset you can. Totally recommend you read this 5* story. I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I don’t think Maryann Jordan has ever written a book I haven’t fallen in love with and Chris and Stella’s story is no different. Maryann Jordan’s stories are heart warming and beautiful with a depth that allows you to watch the story play out in your mind with ease. Chris is the total package. A definite alpha protector, he’s dedicated his life to protecting those who need help and play his part in ridding the world of evil. However, he is a man with issues from his past that have shaped his thinking and behaviour. As a child our brains are like a sponge soaking up everything, including negativity, which is what happened to Chris and although he still carries those actions and harmful words with him he grew into a man anyone would be so proud of. He has a strong moral compass and a heart of pure gold. Stella is a truly beautiful character down to her soul. I always think that it’s okay to be beautiful on the outside but it’s your inner beauty that matters and changes the lives of people we touch. That’s exactly what kind of character Stella is. Always positive. Open and friendly. Her personality shines though like a brilliant ray of pure light touching everyone around her. People like Stella are few and far between which is what makes her all that much more special and unique. Having a front row seat to the meeting of these two characters and their beautiful journey together, literally and figuratively, is such an honour. Maryan a characters are so relatable. So welcoming they instantly make us feel like family. This story gently walks into your heart. Stunning characters and a beautiful storyline. So easy to read and yet so addictive. Can’t possibly recommend highly enough. 20 million star review.
Homeport is Maryann Jordan’s addition to the Long Home Road Series. It is the story of Chris, an ex-Navy Seal who is on his way to California to start a new life and Stella, an artist traveling back home to California. They couldn’t be more different! We get to see Blessing again in the Atlanta airport USO and her words to Chris leave him as bewildered as her words always do! Her words to Chris are: “I think you’ll find your journey to be as important as the destination, although most people are more focused on where they’re going.” How true for Chris!
Chris and Stella are total opposites but it works for them. Stella is an artist and is guided by her love of art and her gut. Chris is a pretty rigid guy with plans and backup plans. She’s a hoot on this road trip with all her snacks, bathroom stops, and stopping to take pictures, she is in no hurry to get home and excited about the adventure. Chris is all about getting there as quickly as he can and isn’t excited about all the stops though he comes to appreciate the beauty. Stella slowly works her way into his life and he begins to see how she looks at things and comes to appreciate her quirks. Their relationship begins as one of strangers, then friends, and then more. Their chemistry is sizzling! Of course this is a Maryann Jordan story with suspense and some danger and that is when Chris loops in his new employer, LSI-WC folks. It’s nice to see these guys again and see Chris begin to establish relationships with his new co-workers.
This was a great story and not to be missed! Chris comes to find that the journey to California was more important than the destination because he comes to find that his Home Port isn’t a destination at all. It might just be a person!
Are you ready for this journey with Chris and Stella? MaryAnn has weaved a story of learning to live the unexpected and finding that not everything needs to be regimented. Chris has decided to leave the military and now is making his way to California to join LSI-WC. However due to unforeseeable complications with travel he ends up in the Atlanta USO meeting our old friend Blessing. As usual she takes Chris into her special haven, where he meets fellow Long Road Home travelers. She manages to get him on an earlier flight and he has his first introduction to Stella. Many things happen aboard but alas this plane also has issues and they end up eventually traveling together by car. Stella is you infinite free spirit against this very structured exNavy Seal. As with all of MaryAnn’s books their are lessons to be learned and her great love of books with quotes from literature. But are two travelers have an awakening in both of themselves but especially Chris who begins to see how the journey is more important than the destination. Of course we have the angst in the story and how that makes them both realize how they feel about each other. And yes you do get to meet more of LSI-WC members. I love all of MaryAnn’s books but this one touched my heart and made me think of the journey’s I have traveled. Enjoy and have fun.
Home Port is book 2 in The Long Road Home series. After being introduced to Scott, Dylan, Cal and Nolan at the Atlanta Airport USO by Blessing, Chris starts his journey west. He is the newest employee at Lighthouse Investigations West Coast after retiring from the Navy where he worked as a Seal. During the first leg of his journey he meets Stella who was his seat mate. After an emergency landing in Kansas City, Stella decides to journey forward by car. Chris decides to go along with her to watch out for her. Where Chris is reserved and quiet, using a minimum of movements, Stella is bright and colorful and animated. During their journey a friendship blooms and deepens. Maryann Jordan does a wonderful job of introducing her characters to you as you read into the story. We learn Stella is an artist and sees so much in the nature around her. Chris is a planner and deviating from a set plan is difficult for him to do. During the journey danger finds them and Chris protects them the best he can until he can get assistance from his new team. The journey ends up being much more than a car ride, the journey helps them to learn about each other as well as themselves. Maryann Jordan has a gift in developing her characters and especially with their own self-exploration. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
Chris Andrews has always planned everything he did to a point leaving very little chance for spontaneous moments. His life as a Seal fit into this perfectly never go into something without thinking it through and planning. Then trip home planning starts to go sideways after a talk with a attendant at his layover. Little does he know that this is going to lead him to his path crossing with a women that is going turn his whole structured life upside down. Artist Stella Parker figures she is going to take the quick and easy route for once by flying home. The total opposite of Chris in so many ways she takes no issue with having to change plans when their is a issue with their flight and decides to rent a car and drive home. Chris keeps trying to fight it and says he is only trying to protect her then once she is on her way he will continue on like he planned. Little does he know that there are other plans in his future. It is awesome to watch Stella bring out a side to Chris that he has forgotten exist. Watching the two of them through out their travels makes you feel not like you are reading their story but more like you are watching as another character. Throughout the story we meet other characters that we will learn more about later and see characters that we have already met. Can't wait for the next book!
Chris is heading home after retiring from the Navy. He wants to move closer to his mom and rebuild their relationship. Chris also accepted a job with the Lighthouse Security West Coast team. On the way to start his new life, Chris’ plane has mechanical issues. He gets delayed in Atlanta where he goes to the USO and meets Blessing. Blessing is quirky and offers odd advice using quotes. After a brief delay, Chris boards a plane and is greeted by seat mate Stella. Stella is total opposite of Chris. She’s an artist, talks a lot, and is a bit flighty. Chris is NOT any of those things….yet he’s drawn to her. When their flight is stranded in Kansas, Chris decides (in the guise of keeping Stella safe) to drive cross country with Stella. The more time they spend together, the more they’re drawn to each other! Chris can’t figure out why and knows they’ll each go their own way once they get to California….but trouble lurks!
One can NOT go wrong with a Maryann Jordan novel!!! I loved every minute of Chris and Stella’s journey! I loved that she was able to get Chris to “see, enjoy” life. From her small bladder, frequent picture stops, and travel snacks…Stella was so genuine. She didn’t hide her feelings, enjoyed life, and loved with her whole heart. This is a must read novel! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
This stand alone story is a combination of the multi author series The Long Road Home and the author’s Lighthouse Security Investigation West Coast series. Former Navy SEAL Chris Andrews is at crossroads in his life. He spent fourteen years in the Navy but after a mission gone wrong where friends were lost, he decided to not only leave the military but also return to California and start working with LSI West Coast. The last thing Chris expects is that the woman he meets on an airplane will be the one to turn his usually regimented life inside out and upside down. That woman is pottery artist Stella Parker. Fate brings them together when their flights are cancelled and they choose to ride together all the way to California. A sort of friendship develops as well as feelings as these two seemingly opposites spend time together. But not all runs smoothly as it seems someone is trying to harm them. The story, at times sweet and endearing, is more than just a story about new love, adventures, and a hidden mystery. It’s truly a reminder that home is not a place but that someone special that is our anchor, our friend, our significant other, our “home port”. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I've never met a Maryann Jordan romance that I didn't love. Her ability to surround her stellar characters with a captivating and unique story is second to none. Although Home Port is part of the Long Road Home series, the characters are from her Lighthouse Security Investigations (LSI) series spinoff LSI West Coast. If you haven't read LSI do so. You won't be disappointed.
Was it serendipity that Stella Parker was Chris Andrews' seat mate or some of the mysterious Blessing's special magic on their flight to California? As a former SEAL, spontaneity was, by necessity, part of his SEAL's bag of tricks but Chris is essentially a plotter and planner. Doing things on the spur of the moment is just not his M.O. But, there's something about Stella that speaks to his protective instincts even if she does make him just a tad crazy. Stella talks a little too much, is obsessive about road snacks and lives in the moment. Her joy and exuberance for life make her shine.Their unplanned roadtrip to California proves to be life changing for both of them especially since they somehow unwittingly put themselves in danger. Never did Chris think that his first Keeper's mission would be a personal one.
A road trip was not in the plans for Chris after he leaves the military and joins LSI West Coast. Travelling by plane, getting grounded, switching planes and ending up being seat mates with a woman who doesn’t keep quiet and interrupts his peaceful flight. Stella just made it in time for her flight and ends up next to Chris, a gorgeous quiet man who makes her nervous and she can’t stop babbling. When their flight gets detoured, Stella decides to drive to rest of the way to California and Chris, the protector that he is insinuates himself as her road trip partner to make sure she makes it safely. The road trip opens Chris’s eyes to the beauty around him and that includes Stella but what happens when their trip seems to have attracted danger and what happens between them when they reach their destination. An amazing read with steam, danger, some suspense and GREAT characters that you can’t help fall for…Chris and Stella are my #1 couple from this author. Quirky, artistic, compassionate, kind and beautiful Stella with brooding, stoic, protector, focused beautiful Chris…sigh and swoon and sigh. The story flowed beautifully with descriptions that were spot on and I couldn’t put it down. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Maryann Jordan’s latest entry into the Long Road Home series, Home Port (which, incidentally is a crossover with her LSI-WC series) is fabulous! First, let me say that the hostess at the Atlanta USO, Blessing, is a common thread thru all the books and I LOVE her. She always has some freaky knowledge and safe advice for the hero, and it’s wonderful!
Ok, Navy SEAL Chris Andrews has decided it’s time to retire and let the younger guys take over, so he is headed home. He splurged on first class finds himself seated next to Stella Parker, beautiful, outgoing and sassy. Once the flight has some issues she wants to take off and drive the rest of the way, gentleman and protector that he is, Chris can’t let her drive alone, and off they go to enjoy. They are enjoying a scenic drive and noticing the chemistry between them as Stella takes pictures all along the way. It’s such fun to see her teach him that life doesn’t need to planned every step of the way, sometimes the unplanned is the most fun! However, this IS a Maryann Jordan book, so we know there will be some mystery and danger for the couple, including backup by his new employers, which definitely makes this book a page-turner! Definitely a 5-star read!!
In the Atlanta airport, recently separated SEAL Chris Andrews was anxious to get to his new job with LSI-West in California. As he waits, he compares USO hostess, Blessing’s odd message to him with ones she’d given his fellow separated travelers. As Chris boards, he was hoping for more legroom but chatty artist Stella Parker sits and starts to talk, he’d rather she didn’t.
Stella’s a pain but she’s nice enough. Chris is angry on her behalf when the lecherous passenger across the aisle attempts to trap Stella but Chris puts a stop to that. Ate changing planes, it seems it’ll take a while before they’re back in the air. Stella decides to finish the trip from Missouri to California by car. The same man makes a nuisance of himself again. Chris puts a stop to it and decides to ride with her.
Driving/Riding together Stella and Chris develop friendship and her eyes catches different ways to memorialize their cross-country trip. Along the way, someone chases them and shoots the tires out on the rental. But why? And are Stella and Chris ready to separate. I liked but didn’t love this outing. The meandering kept this reader out of the outing long enough to wonder about continuing. Rating: 3.25stars
A road trip with two opposite personalities leads to a happily ever after. Season two of the Long Road Home series starts off once again with a cryptic message from our favorite airport USO employee, Blessing. A precursor for the journey Chris is about to embark on. When his chatty airplane seatmate, Stella, decided to finish the trip to California by driving, Chris feels compelled to accompany her despite his aversion to her happy go lucky, unreserved, verbose personality. The artist soon wins him over and he finds himself enjoying his time with her. But despite his interest, he decides he doesn't have time for a new relationship as he settles into a new life, new job outside of the SEALs. When she is attacked in her home, he races to her side knowing he'd made a mistake and can't walk away from her again. We get a look at more of the men who work for Lighthouse Security Investigations-West Coast who have just hired Chris to join the team. This is a grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, close confines story with all the sweet alpha times we've come to expect from a Maryann Jordan novel.
The Binge Read Babes “Home” books, are now on their second set of stories. Maryann Jordan’s contribution book two Home Port is linked to her LSI-WC new series.
Chris is on his way home having decided it’s time to end his military career. He’s got a new job at Lighthouse Security Investigation West Coast, and is looking forward also to spending more time with his widowed mother. Stella is a potter, and views her world in colours and shapes; it’s how she gets the inspiration for her work. She luckily ends up sitting beside Chris on his substitute flight to California. Due to circumstances beyond their control their flight gets grounded, and Chris ends up agreeing to drive them both to California.
I liked how Maryann progresses their relationship, and Chris’s gradual understanding of Stella’s view on the world. Their whole interaction and how the suspense in the storyline develops, with the merging of the LSI-WC characters into the plot is smooth, and keeps the story flow perfectly. Along with Blessing, and her woo-woo at the start you have a great read as usual from this author.
This book is a must read. It is part of Long Home Road and a crossover to the LSI-WC series that is just beginning. It can be read as standalone. This is Cris and Stella’s journey. Chris is out of the Navy Seals after reviewing his options and is ready to find his home port. He starts in Virginia and gets delayed in Atlanta where he meets Blessing and several other service members. Blessing reminds him that it’s not the end journey but the journey itself where life awaits. He continues on to his next flight where he meets Stella who is an artist traveling back home. Chris thinks Stella is flighty and She thinks he is rigid. Their flight gets to Kansas City and there their adventures begin. Their journey is realistically described and attention to detail is accurate. The intrigue of their adventures and how they both react and discover their strengths and weaknesses as well as overcoming what transpires kept my attention from the first page to the last page. Loved the LSI—WC team and so looking forward to more in this series Maryann Jordan books never disappoint. Received an ARC for an honest review. This book is 5+ stars. You won’t want to miss this book!
This was a wonderful read that manage to tie not only Maryanne's Lighthouse Security West Coast Series but also The Long Road Home series by various authors and it did it so well
Navy Seal Chris Andrews knows that it is time for change so he has left the navy and is taking up a new job with Lighthouse Security this will put him closer to his mother after his fathers recent death a father who never excepted him joining the military. When a stop over in Atlanta has him connecting with not only other military at a turning point in their life but also the very strange Blessing who runs the USO (She stars throughout the entire Long Road Home series) she once a gin makes a prediction about his life and this time it is that the journey is as important as the arrival Little did he know how true her words would become once he has the misfortune of meeting his seatmate Stella She is a free spirit who always follows her heart while he is controlled and always plans everything to the nth degree A road trip throws then not only together but also into danger Where Chris's new team will have to come to the rescue proving that he ahs a new family and maybe a new partner in his future
Home Port by Maryann Jordan is the next book in her West Coast LSI series and it was an amazing story! Chris has left the Navy after accepting a position with LSI WC and finds himself with a layover in Atlanta. He heads to the USO and meets Blessing and with her mysterious ways, helps to set him on his journey. With Blessing’s help, Chris gets an earlier flight and ends up with Stella as his seat mate. Stella is colorful, loves to talk and has to use the bathroom a lot. Chris doesn’t find her charming but all of that will change. Due to more airline problems, Chris and Stella find themselves on the road to California, although Chris doesn’t really understand why he agreed. Eventually Chris begins to see how special Stella is and romance soon develops but so does some unexpected danger. Once they are safe, Chris steps back. Unfortunately, the danger is not over and Chris must race to save Stella and hope that she will forgive him. I can’t wait to read more about LSI WC! I received an authors copy and I have left an honest review!
This story is a standalone, but is with a multi author series called The Long Road Home (and is tied into Maryann's Lighthouse Security Investigations West Coast series). After a mission gone wrong Navy Seal Chris Andrews decides to leave the military after 14 years and starts working with LSI West Coast. He meets Stella Parker on the first part of his trip on an airplane, but she’s his opposite in most ways. When their next flight gets canceled, they decide to drive to California together. They learn a lot about each other along the way and they decide to spend some time together once they get there. Chris starts to have doubts that it's the right time to start a relationship when he's just starting his life over. So he steps back until Stella is attacked in her own home. Chris rushes to be by her side and find out what is going on. This book has suspense, action, romance, and wonderful characters. I was hooked from the very beginning! I received an ARC from the author, but the thoughts and opinions are all mine.
....but it is the journey that matters in the end'
Ah! Blessing and her spooky wisdom strike again! Chris is a little unsettled by Blessing's weird comments but it is his reaction to Stella that shocks him more, however I love that even though they are complete opposites and he is acting completely out of character Chris listens to that niggle in his gut and his protective instincts. Although he doesn't understand his instincts he embraces them and accepts the mission change, which is fortunate for Stella and her safety! They may be opposites but they compliment each other perfectly, Stella brings out the lighter side of Chris and we eventually get to see his dry, witty sense of humour, his endearing thoughtful care and his naughty, dirty talking, need-you-now Alpha. All of which compliment his warrior and make him irresistible. I enjoyed the crossover with Lighthouse Security Investigation West Coast, we are only one book into that series so it was nice to see more of them and get to know the team better.
I borrowed Home Port ~ A Long Road Home ~ Book 7, by Maryann Jordan, author from the Kindle Unlimited Program on Amazon.
Chris Andrews, now an ex-Navy SEAL is on his way home to Callifornia, passing through Alanta's USO where Blessing predicts his journey home will be more important than arriving. He has a seatmate on the plane out of Alanta that starts to drive him a little bit crazy with chatter, a small blatter and a creep making a move on her. Stella Parker grew on him and when the creep wouldn't take no for an answer Chris did something no his usual self would do and rescued her, changed his plans to drive the rest of the way to California.
Delighful trip until a slashed brake line and having the two back tires shot out of their SUV, a rescue by his new job team, and attacks on Stella made her witty, brave and charming potter self irresitible for hm. The journey was worth it to find the woman of his dreams that he didn't know he needed.
The dialogue, funny situations made this an outstanding romance!
Another great addition to The Long Road Home series.
Chris and Stella are a great couple. Chris is a protector. He has a plan. Stella is an artist. She has a very free spirit. He wants to listen to his music while on their initial flight. She wants to chat. We've all been there; but, somehow, Stella draws him in.
After a completely disrupted plane trip, Chris and Stella begin a cross country drive. They could not be any more different from each other, yet, it is their differences that make them a great couple. They each have something the other one needs. Through their adventure of travel, he learns to relax. She learns to let him reveal himself as he is ready.
Will they overcome their very different personalities to find true love? How many trials will they have to go through to get there? Will they learn the truth to this quote Blessing shares with Christ, "It is good to have an end to journey toward, but it is the journey that matters, in the end."
Opposites attract! A chance meeting, decisions made on impulse and a friendship formed! With Chris who is a stalwart in the way he lives his life… knows what he wants, how he wants and when he wants it. He is set in his ways, thinks things through and follow life’s rules…To Stella who lives her life freely, not fearing any judgement and fly by the seat of her pants. She is quirky. impulsive and makes friends easily.
Their road trip has everything from laughs, adventure too many toilet stops 😂 and romance. But we also see how Chris slowly let’s go of his staid ways. He finds that all roads lead to Rome, and can be achieved in many ways! I love that the heroine is the one that at times guides Chris and challenges his way of thinking. But his true self didn’t change, honest, loyal, alpha and protective! I love how we see Carson and his men build the business and see the friendships forming! Add in a bit of suspense and you have a winner!
Home Port is part of the multi-author Long Road Home series, totally standalone books tied together by an airport USO and the very interesting woman in charge named Blessings. The story itself is about Chris Andrews and Stella Parker, two people so different yet perfect together. Plane seatmates become travel companions on a multi-state driving trip, Stella back to her home and Chris traveling to his new job. Clouds, sunsets, corn and nacho chips, campground, s’mores, what could go wrong? Suddenly targeted by a gunman and forced to flee has Chris contacting his new team, the west coast branch of Lighthouse Security Investigations. While they try to figure out what is happening, Stella is left brokenhearted, alone and vulnerable. Will they be able to figure this out and protect Stella and will Chris take everyone's advice before he loses the best thing he never knew he wanted and needed.
I get so excited when I’ve got a new Maryann Jordan book to read. The cherry on top is it’s the next instalment in the Long Road Home series. This book didn’t let me down. As usual the boys start their journey at the Atlanta airport USO and Blessing is there to impart her mysterious wisdom. Chris meets Stella on his flight. Initial impression is she’s a flighty airhead but appearances can be deceiving. As their journey progresses and they get to know each other his opinion changes. As is the normal with a Maryann story there is mystery and intrigue as well as love. It’s lovely to meet up with the men from LSI- WC. This book is a rollercoaster ride of fun and suspense. I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to read the next instalment. I received this book from the author. I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was such a fun book! I enjoyed the first round of books in Home Front series, getting to know everyone that came through the USO and encountered Blessing and her cryptic messages. This one is the next in the new Lighthouse WC series and oh my is it fantastic! A little opposites attract cross country travel romance when not looking for romance type a book! Did I mention it has a super sexy ex seal? Of and of course a little mystery to keep us on our toes. This was a great story, it made me laugh and as always, fan myself! When Chris gave into what he was feeling he was potent that's for sure. Loved Stella, lover her free spirt but she was strong, artsy but not a pushover, spontaneous and friendly. She choose to see the beauty in the world. This was a great addition to the Lighthouse series! Enjoy.
This is another great book from one of my favourite authors. Following a mission which resulted in the loss of some of his friends SEAL Chris decided that after fourteen years it was time to leave the Navy and return home to California, where he was going to start work with the Lighthouse Security Investigation West Coast team and spend some time with his widowed mother. He meets Stella on the first leg of the flight - she is so different from his carefully planned life, artistic and loving life, taking all opportunities open to her.Their flight gets grounded and Stella decides to drive instead - Chris doesn’t think it safe for her to go on her own and ends up volunteering to drive them both. This is the start of them really getting to know one another, do opposites really attract?? This book is so worth your time reading, it will keep your attention to the very last page.
