About the author

Alison Stone

Alison Stone writes sweet romance, cozy mysteries, and inspirational romantic suspense, some of which contain bonnets and buggies.

Alison often refers to herself as the "accidental Amish author." She decided to try her hand at the genre after an editor put a call out for more Amish romantic suspense. Intrigued—and who doesn't love the movie Witness with Harrison Ford?—Alison dug into research, including visits to the Amish communities in Western New York where she lives. This sparked numerous story ideas, the first leading to her debut novel with Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense. Four subsequent Love Inspired Suspense titles went on to earn RT magazine's TOP PICK! designation, their highest ranking.

When Alison’s not plotting ways to bring mayhem to Amish communities, she’s writing inspirational romantic suspense with a more modern setting, sweet romances, and cozy mysteries, including her new Murphy's Dance Academy series. In order to meet her deadlines, she has to block the internet and hide her smartphone.

Married and the mother of four (almost) grown kids, Alison lives in the suburbs of Buffalo where the summers are gorgeous and the winters are perfect for curling up with a book—or writing one.

Plain Trouble is a sweet drama full of suspense written by Alison Stone in her Hunters Ridge series. This story has a whole new cast of amazing characters and I enjoyed getting to know their personal stories. This story is full of drama, suspense, love, forgiveness, and the effects of drug abuse. Second chances are all though this story. The loss of a young mother but also a new life for her young son. Physical and mental abuse is also present in this story but in the end happiness prevails. I absolutely loved this story and the conclusion. The secrets that are revealed are shocking and also heartwarming. I am sorry to see this series end but I truly enjoyed each story.

I was not given a complimentary copy of this book to read and review. I was not approached to post a favorable response and all opinions are my own. I have rated this story with five stars for meeting my expectations of a wonderful story that I can highly recommend to others.

I enjoyed this book very much. It held my attention and the story was very interesting. I chose this book because I have always been intrigued by the Amish lifestyle, this really wasn’t an Amish story but the way Amish played into it was well done. This would be a great movie 😊 There are additional books in the series that I will most likely read!

GREAT BOOK!! (&Series!)

This is the last of the Hunter's Ridge Series books that Allison Stone has written...so far? I KNOW my Husband hopes so☺, Because I have not been able to put one down until I've read it ALL THE WAY THROUGH! He was beginning to get concerned about my lack of sleep AND having to cook for himself! That being said...
Obviously I TOTALLY ENJOYED the ENTIRE SERIES!! They are all stand alone books, but if you begin with the first one you will know a lot of the characters in the rest of them, along with their backgrounds. Every book will get you interested in it if not on THE FIRST PAGE, DEFFINATELY by the end of the FIRST CHAPTER! You get reeled right in and HAVE TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT??! ALL AWSOME READS!
I do recommend the last book to women who are or have even abused. There is always HOPE for you! Please NEVER GIVE UP REGARDLESS...Seek help for y yourself and your child/children, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THAT! (They shouldn't have to be subjected to it either.
ENJOY this book and ALL the others!

I read 48% and quit. Hope is SUPPOSEDLY terrified of her ex boyfriend finding her. Yet she doesn't do things that show she is.

At the beginning she thinks that she should have got her hoodie then that hoodie SHE DID NOT GET plays a huge up or in the next scene.

Finally, when she is supposed to be very scared she calls her friend. Her ex-bf who is a cop has been asking friend saw questions about her. IF YOU ARE AS SCARED AS SHE IS MADE OUT TO BE, YOU WOULD DO THIS. And she wouldn't call the guy in town where she is now And And And...

Did A.Stone even write this? So many plot errors. Not wasting more of my time.

Trust can be hard tobdo.

This book is very good!!! It shows that you can move on after an abusive relationship. Of course, there's a lot of story between thus. It is well written, clean, and held my interest throughout the story. Truly a good series.

Good Story

This has mystery and a love story. Hope comes to the Amish community to escape a violent relationship. She gets a job at a B and B run by an Amish woman. She meets a deputy and develops an interest in him. Will Hope’s ex find her? You need to read this to find out.

This one moved a little slowly. More predictable but still a good story.
