Here's the comment I'm posting at the end:
"Canon Snape is not one I often choose to read about as principal PoV, but what you've done in this fic, between the learning experience of bitterly futile timeloops and the new/old incarnation generations earlier is brilliant and makes him not only sympathetic but admirable. You've formulated a number of intriguing ideas for characters both familiar and new (or canon-undeveloped), and extrapolated richly where they could lead both individually and for wixen society. I'm glad I didn't find it until you'd added the epilogue, but with that in place, I found it a very satisfying read."

To clarify (with info from the helpful Author Notes), JJ had originally intended to write a trilogy, and set up certain threads accordingly, but upon deciding she would no longer be writing heavily in the HP fandom, made a time-spanning epilogue carrying the 'verse forward from when Tom was still a baby to when various grandchildren of the story's characters are of age.

There's meddling from Lady Magic and at least one fae lord (and reincarnation revelations that make the reader go Oooooh!). There's rearrangement of several families' alliances and feuds based on additional changes Severus stirs up in his new role, with newly felt family magics and newly-available primary research sources (incl. re. the Hogwarts Founders, which revolutionizes the concept of Sorting) — and where certain canon destined souls get born in this 'verse, in the epilogue. Muggleborn are revealed to be squibs, and JJ offers a clever paradigm (original, AFAIK) for what a squib actually is, and can accomplish. She has nothing good to say about youngish Dumbledore, but several house elves with their own status feature among the supporting roles. There's much more, but I don't want to get too specific and spoil the surprises.

Re. sexual/romantic content, this is basically a Gen fic, with just background [canon] marriages in most of the fic, but Severus is gay (his canon love for Lily being platonic ), and late in the tale he finds an unexpected partner, but even then without explicit activities on the page.

Re. proofing, it's pretty good, though I did notice a few goofs. Also, I need to make a family tree for the epilogue, because either *I* got mixed up, or *she* misspoke when naming his "first" great-grand — but I really don't yet know which.

Naturally, since this story mainly takes place in 1922 England, most of the books'/movies' casts are not involved/existent, so if that's a deal-breaker for you, give this one a pass, but if you're interested in seeing what else can be built on JKR's honestly rather shaky foundations, world-wise, and what Severus can do with an honest chance at free will and happiness, I highly recommend it.
