A king's curse constrains my desires. But he cannot tame my heart... Alone. That's all I've known. My curse is an intimate kind of loneliness, leaving me with an insatiable hunger I can never satisfy. It was revenge for saving my sister, violent retribution for stopping the Python King before he kidnapped her. Now, I must find her, no matter what the consequences may be. No matter whom I have to kill. No matter who wanders into my life. This compelling adult fantasy series is a fresh take on classic mythology filled with romance, intrigue, tree nymphs, and adventure.
PRINCE OF PYTHONS is the debut adult fantasy series from Canadian author E.D Alpaugh.
After graduating from Brock University with a degree in marketing, E.D. explored several fields that involved advertising before rediscovering her passion for writing. These days, when she's not working her wonderful part-time job at a legal recreational store in Ontario, you'll find E.D. scribbling insane book ideas on an overpriced notepad from Indigo somewhere in Victoria Park.
I do think this was a good debut novel but it needed about another 100 pages of world building and war. Honestly I don't know if I misread something at the beginning but I could not follow the family tree thing whatsoever. The war was too quick and I wanted more action. I'm also not a fan of insta love. If you want a super quick simple read then this is for you but if you like heavy world building and lots of action you might want to look elsewhere.
I enjoyed this book it did take me a while to read it. I would have liked more character building and it got a little confusing at times. I will definitely read read future books from this author.
For such a short book it took me way too long to read it and I think it was because I just wasn't into it. The cover is what drew me to this book and it's absolutely beautiful but the story is...not. I agree with the other reviews of this book. The world building was confusing, the plot felt too rushed, the characters were just fine with the villains being one dimensional. It had a lot of potential. I liked Adrastea. She was the only character that kept me reading and made me finish the book. I honestly don't know if I'll continue the series even after the major cliffhanger ending of this one but we'll see.
