Hit This One Out Of The Ball Park!

I thoroughly enjoyed Julie Sursok's first book and "I'm now Called a Senior Stories from the Heart" did not disappoint. For me, Julie's second book is next level. She truly has hit this one out of the ball park! As a senior myself, I appreciate Julie's ability to take every day simple "senior" situations and write about them with honesty, joy, appreciation, practicality and grit. Senior Sage at the end of each chapter gives extra food for thought. This is an inspiring and heartfelt read not just for seniors but all adults who enjoy stories about real life and the things that truly matter - family, focus, connection with others, purpose, peace and faith. A stellar read!

Hilariously funny!

As a senior who is reinventing myself, I was laughing all the way through Julie Sursok’s new book! From her bathroom stories to beach experiences it was easy to visualize everything she shares. My favorite of all her stories was about passwords. I remember when I was younger and my father was trying to learn how to
Use his computer. This scene was as accurate as can be and makes you laugh every line as you can see what’s coming next!

There is so much more! Every senior should read this book and all their kids and grandkids as it will give them a good feel for what seniors experience!

Excellent work Julie!

As a senior myself, I have often asked myself some of the questions that are posed in this book. I was reading it in a very public place (a bus station and on a ferry) and when I laughed out loud at some of the stories, I think people thought I was crazy. I love the way that the author keeps what could be touchy situations light and interjects humour just when it is needed. Getting old is no picnic but it becomes more palatable after reading this gem. It should be recommended reading for all seniors and those who are not there yet, so they can plan.

Amazing read! I love how realtable this book is.
I am 37 and I purchased this book for my parents for a Christmas Present. They have not stopped laughing, telling us quotes from the book and telling us how the book has normalised their experiences, especially during the changes faced by isolation due to the pandemic.
They wanted my sisters and I to read it so we know how life is changing for them. I can not believe how much I learnt and now I have more empathy and care for my parents feelings and lifestyles. I can not recommend this book high enough!!!

Julie has successfully written in a light hearted way about what could be a dreary time of life. She always sees the bright side of ageing and the less than glamorous features of this process, inevitable for all of us (if we are so lucky!) There are delightful anecdotes, all personal to her and her husband, yet we can identify with these stories and laugh. My personal favourite is the Valentine's Day gift and my husband's is the involuntary fart in the bank.

Insightful & Witty - a great read!

Author Sursok’s senior tales are full of candor, wit and insight on life’s many, often missed, lessons. I love “high humor”, and this book is full of it. Makes you stop and think. The chapter ending quotes and senior sage thoughts, alone, are worth the price of admission! Sit back, put your feet up, and enjoy!

Laugh Out Loud Stories

Julie is an engaging writer; I was captivated from the beginning and read the book in two days. My favorite chapter is Transformers. I could not stop laughing. Aging can be distressing unless you read Julie's book. She will help you find the lighter side of aging. I loved it!

Great sequel to her first book!!

I really enjoyed all the stories and especially loved the “Just a Thought” and “Sage Advice” at the end of each chapter. My absolute favorite section was the end though because it truly spoke to where I am at now….trying to create and accept and enjoy my “authentic” retirement/life!! I’m lucky to have an amazing life and co-senior on the journey with me and that should be my first thought every day!

A Delightful Book!

At 68 years of age, I too am a senior. But like Julie, I am okay with that. Aging is a privilege that not everyone gets to experience. I am glad Julie and I share the same kind of joy.

interesting perspective on middle age

I liked the fresh perspective of middle age to senior hood. I think I appreciated the little quotes and conclusions at the end of each chapter the most. Sometimes was hard to connect the dots between the title of each chapter, the anecdote and the end of the chapter.
