Zoe Forward is the author of more than thirty-five contemporary and paranormal romance novels. Some even made bestseller lists. She believes experience is the best teacher, although she’s been strongly advised that “experience” does not include accepting a friend-of-a-friend’s invitation to meet a genuine vampire. When she’s not torturing fictional characters for fun, Zoe draws inspiration from real life as a veterinarian in the South, a baseball mom, and the wife of a doomsday-prepper-survivalist. Between those three things, she has plenty of material and possibly enough emergency supplies to survive more than one zombie apocalypse.

Was this a good book overall? Yes. Did I take quite a few breaks in between because I was simply not in the *mood*? Yes. Months in fact 😅 Did it impact the story for me? Also yes, unfortunately.

I think I was under the impression that these were going to be one-off adventures for each couple that would then be resolved by the end of the book. I was wrong. I don't know where I got that impression from. I think I'm just so used to reading standalone book series that I assumed. Assuming never does anyone any good *sigh*.

Overall I loved the world the author slowly buildt. I can't wait to see how it evolves and grows from here. I'm very much invested in these characters and their stories now. The main couple in this one were okay. I think I didn't adore them because the amnesia wore out its welcome as the story progressed. But that's just a me issue not an actual issue with the book/story.

It's almost like I planned to finish this book this month because the next book will be releasing in the next few weeks! I am very much excited for Ky's story!

I emerge from my three day Experience of binging this book blinking and bewildered, with no idea how to structure a coherent review. Luckily for me I was writing myself delighted notes as I read so I'm just going to stick them into a list and expand on them which we will go through now:

1. Our heroine wakes up with amnesia which is an excellent trope and it does give the author a lot of leeway because obviously not many people can definitively point and say that this is or is not how amnesia works. Anyway in this one the heroine takes one look at the hero and immediately thinks "wow, he could hurt me" and zooms to point "hey i like the thought of that" and then leaps to "am i some kind of adrenaline junkie or masochist?" which was so funny to me but also I truly do believe that if I ever woke up with amnesia and saw a stacked guy my thought process would be exactly the same

2. Probably my favourite line from the book: "The guy who could be the alpha male poster child was giving her respect by not tossing her over a shoulder and running? Damn, if she didn’t appreciate him for it." Yes, I too actively respect all stacked guys who don't toss me over their shoulders and trundle off into the sunset. My estimation of the male population has gone up tremendously

3. In this universe God, as in the Abrahamic God, is canonically real and he sends guardian angels to actively help you out if you pray hard enough. I get that supernatural stories basically all use the premise of magical populations have been living alongside but hidden from the human world and you are supposed to understand as just, our world but with werewolves, but somehow the twist that God is Real really threw me. You're telling me that God is real and has a flock of angels he delegates to help his prayees and this has had no theological repercussions on the way we see the world? Does God only like sexy werewolves? Actually that would be valid of him I guess

4. Late in book they try to justify this by assuring our hero that he's the only one who receives this help which sounds fake and they also try to explain away the God thing by having the hero ask an angel "so who is this God actually?" and the angel copping out by naming a bunch of deities God might also be and then saying "anyway I'm too tired for a philosophical discussion". BOO Zadkiel give me your treatise on the nature of divinity and tell me the why your abrahamic god is sometimes called odin but the greek gods are their own thing and how does the famously solitary abrahamic god deal with power sharing with the greek pantheon? Zadkiel!

5. The werewolves of this book all spend...a whole lot of time prevaricating on the nature of lycanthropy and telling us loudly and at increasing length that "were" "wolves" are a silly human invention, they are "lycanthropes" and they do NOT turn into wolves that is simply NOT a thing and moreover there are NO mythical creatures out there that turn into animals. Which is all maybe fine if a little overzealous for your run of the mill romance novel but shifter romance has skyrocketed in popularity in the last few years and that context made this absolutely hilarious to me. I was weeping with laughter when the hero went and sweepingly said NO magical creatures are out there who turn into animals. In this house shifter porn is NOT allowed

6. My friend Eva who I live messaged my reading experience to wisely asked what makes these guys lycanthropes anyway then if they're not werewolves and I had to go uhhhh they're Extra Durable? They are very scary looking and need to wear a glamour over themselves when out in public otherwise will scare humans to death? They get madly horny during the full moon? And Eva said lol I like the implication that wolves' mating habits revolve around the moon which is another devastating point I had no answer for

7. It seems clear that this ought to be an Omegaverse book given the werewolves are not actually wolves and the full moon is basically ruts and heats but this book is either too cowardly to give me that or doesn't want to be sued by a copyright villain, which is still cowardly just in a different way. They even talk about bonding in heavily Omegaverse coded terms and apparently our heroine can only get pregnant in a heat -- like, it is all there. The only thing that's not there is knotting, which was tragic to me but the series still has time to slide it in there pun very much intended

8. About two hundred pages in the hero's last name got dropped and I went, Oh boy I literally did not know Roman's last name until now. I got this in ebook form so I could do a ctrl F and I can confirm this was the one and only instance his last name was mentioned. I mean it's on the summary so if I'd read that more industriously I maybe wouldn't have been taken so off guard but it was still pretty funny to me that we get one Lanzo uttered and nothing else.

9. Towards the end of the book we start getting thrown exposition by the bucketful so the world is expanding rapidly, the predeceased are popping up everywhere, there are secret societies and whatnot, I feel like that's all pretty par for the course when the book is setting up a series but one moment of this worldbuilding which did stand out was the heroine discovering she might have been amnesiaed because she maybe has command triggers in her brain that force her to do things and she goes "Like The Manchurian Candidate or The Winter Soldier?" and someone else goes "Yes, like that" which made me laugh again. Yes Nova it is exactly like that. Don't lampshade it Nova you'll make it weird

10. The drinking game for this book should be A. every time the worldbuilding makes you laugh B. every time Roman tries to get rid of Nova or promises himself that he will never see her again after this and C. every time our very stacked alpha man hero is actually a very respectful softboy but if you really want to go to hospital for alcohol poisoning drink every time Nova is Not Like Other Werewolf Girls, bearing in mind that other werewolf girls are confined to nunneries and apparently spend most of their time scheming over how to marry the right guy. I think that one will have you drinking pretty much any time she's on the page

Those are all my notes, I think it should be clear now that I don't think this is a "good" book but I do think it is very zany and funny and I had heaps of fun with it. Many, many thanks to Entangled Publishing for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review

Bad Moon Rising is the first book in the latest series by Zoe Forward, I will be honest, I had never heard of this author until I saw this book on Netgalley offered and I was like ....YES because I just love trying new authors especially in the paranormal genre (since I kinda feel its a dying genre and these authors need all of our support) but this cover, I really love how Entangled put it all together especially with all the "Halloween" like vibes for it. I wanted to read it this week and it seemed to be just perfect but NOW you know what I need all the other books in the series because I was blown away by this book, it was so different than I was expecting and it just tore my heart out, but yet gave me everything I didn't know that I was looking for.

Bad Moon Rising is a fierce, intense filled story that will keep you on the edge of your seat that features:

Roman Lanzo- A Lycan, a soldier for the Queen of England, loyal to his family and a survivor

Nova-Kick ass heroine, has no memory of who she is but can fight and has psychic abilities and feels connected to Roman.

Bad Moon Rising is a story that sets off with our heroine, who wakes up with no memory of who she is, but she knows she must reach a man named "Roman" and to save him from a threat she is not sure of but she knows she is capable of fighting and protecting him if necessary. When she arrives, she knows the man that she is looking for and he is a man that she feels a strong attraction to and she knows he is "danger" personified and not one she should ever mess with. But the trick now is to get him to trust her and how to get him to leave the danger that is ahead of them. But when it is proven that she can take care of herself and is a woman to trust, Roman knows that there is something more to Nova and that she is a woman that he is captivated by. But there are secrets and when he is brought in to the new King and his boss now and orders him to kill Nova, he is torn in two. Roman and his brothers were cursed years ago that they had to obey all orders by the leader of England, or he could die. And now he must make a difficult choice, but there is more going on here than meets the eye. Nova and Roman are determined to find out the truth before one of them dies, but their story won't be what is expected, and it may come at the ultimate cost....

Bad Moon Rising is a wonderful story that I simply loved and I couldn't put it down, I didn't know what to expect from this book and I didn't even look at the blurb for this one. I'm not sure why I didn't since I always do, but I just wanted to immerse myself into a paranormal. I quickly found myself drawn into this heartbreaking paranormal romance that gave me everything I needed and more. Both of these characters were simply amazing and captures the heart in the small moments. You will find that Nova and Roman to be a perfect team. I don't always vibe with kick-ass heroines, but I absolutely devoured Nova's character. She was tough, could fight (in the way you would expect of James Bond), but she has such a good heart and I truly related with her so much. And seeing her devotion to Roman was epically beautiful in every way. Roman is such a unique hero, and my heart just broke for him. He is such a tough alpha male, he is the oldest of his brothers and highly protective of them, and sacrifices so much for them. And seeing his love for Nola will just pierce the deepest parts of you. I will be honest that there will be parts of this book that will tear you apart. Their story while they get a HEA, it's a tough journey in getting there.

I was really surprised in how much I enjoyed this author's writing and definitely wanted more and more of it. I can't wait to start delving into some of her other works and see how I like them. The premise of this series is fascinating and I can't wait to see what happens with the other brothers, find out about this secret organization working against their people, and see them all find their mates.

Overall I found Bad Moon Rising to be a thrilling, edge-on-the-seat adventure that will work through your emotions, stun you in the action-packed moments, and deliver a deeply satisfying conclusion.

Bad Moon Rising by Zoe Forward is the 1st book in her new Crown’s Wolves series. We meet our heroine, Nova, at the start, as she wakes up in a car, with no memory of why she is there, nor who she is; her phone has a message, get the man named Roman out of the club he is in.

Roman Lanzo, our hero, is a Lycan, and with his brothers, they are bound by a curse to serve the Crown of England. They are very powerful, known as the Crown’s Wolves, and considered the ultimate weapon for the Crown. Roman is approached by a beautiful lady, who insists he leave with her, and when all hell breaks out, he does get out and Nova is with him.

Roman isn’t sure if he can trust Nova, especially since she claims amnesia, with no knowledge of who she is. In a short time, he recognizes her to also be a rare female Lycan, with powerful skills and even magic. They both find themselves attracted to each other, though Roman feels it isn’t safe for him to become involved, but in no time, he becomes totally obsessed with her; and together they will embark on a journey to discover the truth about Nova, and why was she sent to him. When the Crown leader gives him a mandatory assignment to kill her, Roman, his brother, mother and others must find a way to keep her alive, especially if she may know something about their missing brother.

What follows is an exciting, action-packed adventure that kept me unable to put the book down. I loved the chemistry between Roman and Nova, and prayed they would find a way to be together. I also like some the secondary characters, Finn, their mother, the angel, and even the vampire. I do not want to say too much more, because you need to read this book, especially with more fun to come in future books.

Bad Moon Rising was a great start to this new series, and very well written by Zoe Forward. I wholly suggest you read Bad Moon Rising, as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I was intrigued with this book just by reading the blurb. And as it is a new to me author, I was really hoping that the book would live up to the blurb. And boy did it!!

Lycan Roman Lanzo and his brother's were bound to the crown of England. He doesn't have a choice in what he is asked to do for the crown, and if he refuses-he is punished. But then he meet's a Lycan female. She is rare, beautiful, fierce, and powerful. And he needs to protect her with everything he is. Nova woke up not knowing who she is with a set of instructions that leads her to Roman. A man whose name is tattooed on her skin. She doesn't know if he can truly figure out her past, but she is willing to give him the chance. And when a kill order is put out for her, she will have to decide whether to run and hide or to give up everything in order to keep the male she loves a chance.

I absolutely loved this story!! Not only did it suck me in right from the start (and have me laughing!) but the storyline kept me engaged and involved in the story. I didn't want this story to end. Roman is this stand up man who is just trying to make it day by day and keep his family safe. He struggles with the things they have to do to a point, although I honestly think at his core that is who he is. Just not unwillingly. Nova-I still would love to know more about what happened to her in the past. And I hope that we see more in subsequent books as I think it will tie into them in some way. I loved the secondary characters, even including his mother!! She made me laugh and I loved her! Honestly, the only thing that I didn't like was that it felt like there was another series that lead into this one in the beginning. And I don't know if there is, but at the very beginning it did feel that way. That was literally the only thing that was off putting for me with this book! I can't wait to read more!!

Bad Moon Rising ended up being a blast to read from the very first word! We know that our heroine has no memory, but she's got to find our hero Roman before time runs out. From that point on, we're in a fast speeding car of a richly told urban fantasy plot of deceitful kings, evil multinational corporations, and legions of supernatural beings fighting wars.

We discover that Nova is a Lycan female, which is something rare--and the fact that she has the skills of an assassin and mage is even rarer. She is whip-smart and does not hold back from telling Roman precisely what she thinks, even if she doesn't have a memory.

The story is breezily complex as the author builds the world this series will inhabit as we hope our heroes will take apart the curse that binds Roman and his brothers to the Crown. What has happened to two of the brothers? Where are they? How has this multinational corporation been experimenting on the supernatural beings in the world?

I have so many questions, but more importantly, I had so much fun reading this novel. I am having so much fun reading Paranormal Romance these days. I love the urban and high fantasies. I love slipping inside the imaginations of these authors as they weave science fiction and fantasy into the romance genre. I love the serious ones, but I enjoy the mess out of these books fling humor to offset the dark. This book pulled out laughs but also had me tearing up--and let me tell you, that angel that made an appearance? He's a hero in the making. I can't wait for the next in the series!

Such a fantastic book. I will admit that the moment I finished this one I was left for words. The premise was entertaining and the characters were so different.

This is one that I loved reading and there were other characters that I met that i hope one day will have their own books in the future.

BAD MOON RISING is the first book in The Crown's Wolves series, and let's start with the fact that the Crown is a complete douche with (probably) criminal ties to a syndicate.

Okay, moving on. Nova wakes with no memory of who or what she is. She just has a name tattooed on her wrist, plus a mobile that keeps giving her instructions. She follows the instructions (possibly the only time in the book) and finds Roman. Then the story really gets going as people blow up and we enter a world of lycanthropes and magic.

Now, stick with me here because this may not sound good, but this was a confusing book. There is SO much going on and the reader has no idea about any of it. This is normal though for the first book in the series. There is always a lot of world-building to do, but there is a LOT in here. Bad Moon Rising hosts a number of characters, some dead, that you will learn about, plus lifestyles, weaknesses, etc.

Don't think you will walk away knowing what's going on though. Oh, no! This is not a book for those who like everything tied with a neat bow at the end. This series is only just getting started and you will be left with more questions than answers.

A great book though with an individual storyline and take on the paranormal world, and one I can't wait to continue.

I have no doubt that The Crown’s Wolves is going to be a series that I will enjoy and I really thought that Bad Moon Rising was a good start, until… *sigh*

I haven’t read any of the other reviews, so I don’t know if my opinion is even close to anyone else’s, but I felt like there was something missing. The bad part is and the part that I’m going to have to apologize for in advance is that I can’t really talk about what threw me off near the end of Bad Moon Rising. It’s a huge twist in the story and I don’t want to spoil it for future readers. What I can say is that nothing is quite what it seems and even though things aren’t perfect, they do get better.

Other than the craziness that comes near the end of the story, I really liked the different take on Lycans that Zoe Forward created. I also liked the premise and the mystery behind who Nova was and how she fit into Roman’s life. I also liked the supporting characters and the insane twist at the very end. (There was more than one…) I’m looking forward to continuing the series and can’t wait to get to know the rest of The Crown’s Wolves even better.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of Bad Moon Rising. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

An exciting and intriguing new PNR series.

Oh I liked this one, the start was intriguing, I then took to the characters and was hooked.

We have a woman called Nova who has a mission to do, but no memory of why. Then there's Roman a Lycanthrope who is cursed to serve the crown or suffer. These two collide at the start of the story.

This is book 1 in a series, there's enough back story so you have an understanding of their world, the author fits worldbuilding in along the storyline so it doesn't feel like an information overload.

I really liked the storyline, there's a mystery, action, preternatural creatures, and romance. I liked how they are lycans are, not werewolves. The story gets very hectic near the end, but I kept up and enjoyed it.

The pull between Roman and Nova was there along with emotion, I even teared up a little!

Flynn, Evie, Dom, and Antonia are some of the other characters and I liked them all, the author makes you want to know more about them.

Looking forward to the next book, will it be Flynn's story or just a continuous story. I'm hoping for Flynn's story!

Nova wake with no memory of who she is or how she got to where she is. All she knows is she needs to find the guy who's name is tattooed on her wrist, Roman.

Roman and his three brothers are The Crowns Wolves. They are lycans who were cursed by a witch to serve the crown, hunting down paranormal creatures who are a threat to the humans.

I enjoyed Bad Moon Rising, It is different from other werewolf books I've read. It was definitely an entertaining adventure. I look forward to the next book and reading more by Zoe Forward.

This is a a great paranormal adventure and just what I needed! You have an ancient curse, Lycans, vampires, ghost, witches, spells, a narcissistic king, a questionable handler, brothers fighting for good, a woman with amnesia, an Angel and love. This is book one of this series and I can’t wait for more.

'An interesting and captivating twist on a genre that is so complex, giving us a story that everyone can get behind and be invested in.'

Thank you to Grey's Promotions for my Advanced Reader's Copy (ebook) for me to read and leave an honest review. This review does not contain any spoilers, so it is safe to read for anyone who would like to pick up this novel.

I picked up this novel as it was one of my goal's this reading year, to dive into genres that I haven't either touched for a long time or haven't yet touched at all. Paranormal romance. More specifically, Lycanthropy. This novel goes above and beyond the human-to-wolf shifter romances we read about, and dives into the Lycan corner of the paranormal.

It took me a tidy bit of time to get used to this change, and to grip the storyline as a whole (no fault to Zoe), but once my head was wrapped around what Zoe had laid down, I was officially invested.

My mind was trying to constantly get one step ahead of the characters. We're all guilty of doing this either with every read, or the occasional read. Working out the meaning--or rather person--behind Nova's motives in the opening (and dotted throughout) chapters of the story, what was going to happen between the two of them, when their coming together would finally happen, where they'd be at the end of the story and hoping and praying to the bookish gods that despite all the suspense, drama and holding of my breath, that there would be a happily ever after.

I won't, however, answer that question now. You'll have to read the novel to see if my prayers were answered. I promise you, it's worth a shot.

Zoe does a fantastic job of keeping the story fresh in your mind with the constant, fast-paced nature of the story, with the scenes and settings changing as fast as Roman could shift into his Lycan form. I was half-expecting to loose track of where Nova and Roman (and the numerous characters that popped up here and there) had been, but I was pleasantly surprised to remember where they had been and where they were going to be, as verbally dictated at times by either character. Zoe takes us to places outside of the US, which is again a change compared to quite a few shifter/paranormal romances that are usually set within the country, giving us a change of scenery while adding in a dash of culture here and there, as well as capturing and enhancing the allure of the country that the characters are in at the particular point in the story.

By far and large my favourite thing about the entire novel--fascinating storyline aside--is the ease yet tense nature between Nova and Roman. Bear in mind that this isn't the typical 'fated mates' story that once a pair of eyes set upon one another, they know they're meant to be together by the wolf gods or fate. This is a story that brings about that awareness in a whole new way. There's no eureka moment, zing or bring-them-to-their knees hallelujah teamed with a gospel chorus, but instead there's a storyline and a chemistry between the two that allows for us to discover and realise at the same time as to when the moment of realisation that the two of them are 'it' for each other, hits.
The two played off each other so well, and were written not to be lacking or less than the other, but were instead crafted to be the equal half. Kudos to Zoe for writing such a dynamic and literary-ly (I know that's not a word) pleasing pair!

Though there are a few unanswered questions and loose ends not tied up, that did not deter me from liking this novel any less, and neither am I mad at Zoe for this as we as readers would be when authors write and include moments like these. The overall story and ending to this novel more than makes up for that and I truly hope that there is a novella where we get to see those loose ends and unanswered questions tied up. Thank the bookish gods that this is book 1 in the series, because I will definitely be back for more!

Happy to say that despite this being my first Zoe Forward read, it won't be my last.

The moon has risen and contrary to the title of this novel, it is most certainly good!

Five stars for Zoe & Bad Moon Rising!

I have read so many werewolf romances that I feel I have seen just about everything...but a werewolf romance where no one actually shifts into a wolf? That one was new for me. Zoe Forward did a great job with world building though, making it very clear (several times) how the Crown's Wolves came to be, how they were superhuman rather than human-to-animal shifters, and why there bound to serve against their will. It was fascinating to read about, and I felt myself easily drawn into the drama that filled their lives. I have read several books recently that center around female being rare in a particular species, whether that be a shifter romance, monster/alien romance, etc., and I wonder if this is something we'll see more often in romance going forward. I love the idea that females are considered of high value and yet they fight for autonomy and the ability to decide their own fate. It feels very empowering, showing that we are worth more than our wombs.

Nova only knows three things shortly after waking up - her name, that the tight post-apocalyptic getup she's dressed in is really uncomfortable, and the key to her identity lies with the man she's sent to retrieve from the club across the street. She has no idea why he needs to leave the basement of that club, but if that's what she needs to do to get her memories back, she will do whatever it takes to get him out. Thankfully, she can apparently speak German, which makes it easy to get inside, and there she meets her target - Roman. He was there on a mission, with no expectation of a rare female lycanthrope walking in and ruining all his plans. They leave the club with a bang - literally - and with her memories still gone, they find themselves stuck together until they can determine who she is. But with this dilemma comes another problem. Roman is being called to serve the Crown, which he is bound to obey, and his duty puts Nova in even more danger. As they race against time to get her to safety, Roman must fight against his curse, get Nova to safety, and resist the temptation to keep her for himself.

This was a complex yet really entertaining read! So much information packed into one novel, but it wasn't so overwhelming that I couldn't still appreciate all the nuances involved. Nova was a formidable woman, even with her memory loss, and she refused to accept that she would just be forever without her memories. Her interactions with Roman were so genuine and real, and while she recognized she needed him, she also saw that he may need her just as much. As a female lycanthrope, she is rare among their kind, and she must be protected at all costs. But when that protection comes at a terrible price for her man, she knows that she will do anything to make sure he is safe too. Their chemistry was off the charts, their attraction felt real and natural, and although there was certainly some insta-lust, it was a slower burn romance that left me on the edge of my seat waiting for them to finally give in to their desires. She tested his resolve, he tested her patience, and the entire time I was reading faster in eager anticipation of when they would inevitably light their passion on fire. So romantic, so heartbreaking, and absolutely worth the read.

With three brothers, this series definitely has a lot more drama and romance to bring to readers! I can't wait to read the next installment.

A really good start to a PNR series with an interesting concept, and lead characters with a ton of chemistry, and one really big problem - one of them is going to die. While the story seemed to get a bit scattered a time or two, the overall story and concept were actually pretty well done, and did keep my interest with a resolution that wasn’t entirely predictable and the lead in to a series that definitely feels like one worth continuing with.

Nova wakes up in a car with no memory of who she is, only a cell phone with a timing counting down and a mission to get a man out of a club’s sub basement before the timer ends. And the man’s name happens to be tattooed on her wrist. She also has a lighter, which she is supposed to flick twice if she thinks he might try to attack her. Roman is a lycan, one of four who were tricked and cursed by a witch to work for the crown, killing supernaturals who are a threat to humans or other supernaturals. He’s immediately intrigued by Nova, but when he sees the lighter, he’s suddenly even more so. And when she puts herself in harms way to keep him from getting shot, he can’t seem to make himself stay away from her. But then he gets an order from the Crown to kill her, claiming she’s a threat to the king (which he doesn’t believe) - and the longer he goes without doing the job, the more pain is inflicted by the curse. It’s an interesting race against time, trying to find a way to clear her to lift the order against her life, and for the two of them to fight the very clear attraction they have for each other.

I don’t know that I’d really call this enemies to lovers, because even though he technically is supposed to kill her, it’s something he fights against from the beginning, something he never wants to do. Maybe more along the lines of forbidden romance, but that’s more on his side, he doesn’t feel like he should have a relationship when he has no control over his life thanks to the curse. For her, she just wants to remember who she is. She has no memories of her life, she doesn’t even remember that she, too, is lycan, and that female lycan are very rare. She seems to remember skills and other pieces of random information that seem to come in handy, and as she finds out piece by piece, it’s an intriguing journey for her and the reader. She’s also attracted to Roman, and wants to help him with his curse, no matter what it takes. There are some interesting side characters, and there are moments of fun, playful banter that add lighter moments to what could be an otherwise very dark and somber story, which is nice. And the chemistry is great between Nova and Roman, with enough spice that doesn’t overwhelm the story. The ending is definitely more open ended, leaving us with a revelation that will set up the next book quite nicely. Looking forward to more of this story.

What a way to start a new series! Bad Moon Rising drew me into the lives of Roman and Nova from the first chapter until the last… and hoping that we get more soon, real soon. It’s also an intriguing premise that the Crown actually knows about and uses those with paranormal abilities in order to “take care of business”. I’m still a bit up in the air as to whether that’s a good thing or a horrible idea – there are definitely pros and cons, and perhaps too much power. We’ll see as the series unfolds.

Bad Moon Rising is also action-packed right from the start. Nova awakens with no real memories but with a name tattooed on her body and a need to find one man, Roman, and get him away from danger… which leads to, yep, even more danger for them both. And that man is charged with dealing with Nova, not falling in lust (oh, I mean love) with her. *wink*

I liked the worldbuilding in this one. I, personally, believe that every new series needs some worldbuilding for readers to understand the universe they’re stepping into… not everyone agrees with that, but each reader to their own preferences. Yet, I feel that without the worldbuilding in Bad Moon Rising I would have been a bit confused for this world of Lycans and Magic (like all paranormal worlds) needs a bit of explaining the “rules” in order for me to fall into it without question. (one little spoiler: you’re gonna rethink your idea of a werewolf in this one)

Most of what you’d want to know about this story can be found in the Cover Description, and I’m feeling like saying much more than that would tell you things that should be discovered firsthand. I can and will say that I completely enjoyed my time with Nova and Roman – and most of the other characters I met, and I’m definitely looking forward to returning to this world for the next adventure.

If you like discovering new paranormal worlds, characters that make you laugh, cry, get angry, and sometimes want to smack upside the head, a story that keeps your attention, and a couple you’ll cheer on to find not only answers but a future together then you’ll love Bad Moon Rising. I had fun here, and that’s the entire point.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Bad Moon Rising was a great new start to a brand new world in The Crown's Wolves series. Bad Moon Rising doesn’t just concentrate on one paranormal creature as lots of other paranormal books tend to do. No Bad Moon Rising has many different species of paranormal creatures. Making it all the more exciting. Bad Moon Rising having more than one paranormal creature is one of the things that kept me hooked.

I loved the new take on Lycans that Bad Moon Rising portrayed not to mention their magical abilities. The characters are all very unique each in their own way. Each character made Bad Moon Rising come to life with their own magical personalities giving you the feeling that you’ve known them all your life.

One of the main characters, Nova wakes up with no memory of who she is or even what she is. She awakens with a name on her mind, Roman. She only knows one thing, she has to find this person. Nova has no idea who this Roman person is but she has this feeling that she must find him if she ever wants to recover her memories. She feels as if this Roman dude holds the key to her lost memories.

Roman is a Lycan who lives to serve the Crown of England. Roman and his brothers are under a curse subjecting them to serve the Crown of England or surfer the consequences. Roman has been given the task of taking care of Nova so to speak. The Crown is afraid of how powerful Nova is and what she can do. They want Roman to get rid of her.

Nova is a very powerful person with strong magic that she doesn’t even know she has. But when Roman meets Nova everything in him fights against destroying her. Roman wants nothing more than to protect Nova and keep her safe from all harm no matter what it may cost him.

Bad Moon Rising is a magically engaging story that will pull you in from the first word and have you racing to the end to see how it all comes together with all its twists and turns in between. It had quite a few big twists that I didn’t see coming. I can’t wait to read more in this magical universe of The Crown's Wolves!

I would recommend Bad Moon Rising to all fans of paranormal romance with different paranormal creatures of all species. One-click your copy of Bad Moon Rising today for an epic adventure into a new paranormal universe!

Nova and Roman are a magical love story for the ages!!

New to me author Zoe Forward has taught me that it is possible for me to enjoy a forced proximity, magical love story with more than just Lycan and Vampires without being lost and confused!

Bad Moon Rising is a combination of Romance, Romantic Suspense, Magical experiences, and all kinds of Magical beings from Lycan, Vampires, Mage, Angels, Zombies, and Warlocks. All these inhuman beings are fighting on the human plane, and most of them, at least in this book, are fighting around the humans without the majority knowing they're there.

Roman is a Lycanthrope who made a deal, with his three brothers, in the late 1970s with the British Crown to bring down the worst of these inhumane beings.

Nova is an unknown at first who simply wakes up with amnesia, and a countdown on a cellphone to find Roman, or she'll never get her memory back. Nova is not at all what she seems though, why does she have Roman's name tattooed on her wrist, why does she know how to cause a much damage as she does, and how does she know all the magic she does?

The sustained back and forth energy between Roman and Nova is like a rollercoaster ride, and the Suspense between The Alliance, a Guardian Angel and what they're willing to do to keep Roman in play is amazing. Beyond that the wandering realms between Mage and Roman's Mom is just over the top!!

I would not consider this a Dark Romance, but there are some elements of violence some people may find triggering, and it does end in a cliffhanger, although I'm hoping Ms. Forward is hard at work to bring us the next book ASAP!

A nice 4 stars for my first read by Zoe Forward, I can't WAIT to read the next one!!

I've read quite a few of Zoe Forward's books so I am familiar with her and fond of her books. For me, this book somewhat departed from other books I've read by her. I'd been very much looking forward to reading this book since I saw my friend was reading it and especially after reading the blurb.

I dove into this book with gusto but spent the first half confused about where there book was going. Was Nova going to get her memory back? Would Roman kill her or would he give in to the feelings he head for her? And which ones? The feelings that compelled him to kill her or the ones that compelled him to want to get her alone and explore the desires he feels for her. And where in the heck was Ky and why weren't they more concerned? Their brother was missing! Even their mother's reaction is tame.

I felt this book lacked soul. It seemed to be on repeat. And it seemed to pack the worldbuilding into the back half instead letting it evolve with the book. It also took the lycanthrope mythology and turned it on its side. I can't say I was 100% on board with it. I like my werewolves wolfy.

I did like really like the whole aspect of Nova's amnesia, the tattoo of Roman's name, and Shane's lighter.

The Epilogue set up the series to be worth giving the second book a read. I just hope the second book has a better flow.

I'm really giving this a 3.5.

As an aside, I realize naming a book is often difficult in that there are billions of books out there. There are about 5 books with the title Bad Moon Rising. I'm sure the author has a theme and it will carry through the series hence the name of the first book. Again, an aside that I noticed when looking up the book on Amazon.

Bad Moon Rising is a multi perspective supernatural romance, the first in a new series. Nova wakes with no memory of anything: who she is, how old, or that she is even a supernatural being. The only thing she knows is from a text demanding she find a man and remove him from a nightclub. Funny thing is she also has his name tattoo on her arm. So unless she wants to spend the rest of her life with no clue to her past, she needs to get Roman out of that club and maybe he will even have some answers for her.
This book was a good one, very entertaining. I enjoyed the characters and the world set up. The concept that one of the characters has absolutely no memory at all added great dynamic elements to the story, as well as the romantic development between Nova and Roman. There was not a lot of information about the curse that plagues Roman and his brother, just a few pieces of information, so I am hoping that in the next book we will get more information about it. Nova and Romans relationship is very intense and fast. I want to know more about Nova's past and what is going on with Roman and his family, they are a mysteries bunch. I did enjoy this book and had a good time with it. Definitely check this one out if you're looking for a fast paced, action packed and steamy supernatural romance, I will definitely be checking out the second book in series.
Trigger warnings: loss of loved one, violence, bloodshed

This story is the first in a new paranormal romance series by Zoe Forward, and I am so hooked and ready to find out more that happens in this world. This story wad addicting and thrilling. This paranormal romance intertwines elements that work so well together for this story.

The Crown’s wolves serve the crown of England- bound by magic- and are the ultimate secret and ultimate weapon.
All Roman Lanzo and his brothers know is honor, violence, blood, magic, and death. When a rare female Lycan, gorgeous, fierce, powerful, and with no memory of who or what she is comes into his life something awakens within him. Everything in Roman’s blood wants to help her, protect her, and want her.

The only thing Nova knew when she woke up was to find Roman. Nothing else was present or conjured. She knows nothing of who she is or why Roman's name is tattooed on her skin. But just because she doesn't know who she is doesn't mean the Crown doesn't know. A female lycan can become extremely dangerous and they want her eradicated before problems arise

This paranormal romance was amazing. I love the story and journey between Roman and Nova that blooms and grows throughout the book. There are intense moments and down right romantic ones that had me right in my feels. I am so excited to see what else will come to happen in this series for them and other characters.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of this novel.

In this new series by Zoe Forward, Nova enters the story remembering nothing about herself. She does know that she must find the man in the picture on her phone and get him out of the night club. Roman, the man from the night club, is highly suspicious of Nova. He's also attracted to her. However, his job prevents him from having a personal life and he simply cannot become entangled with her. Nova knows no one else and clings to him while she regains bits of information about herself and her abilities. Together, they end up seeking out how what happened to her all the while trying to keep them both safe and alive from an unknown enemy.
Opinion
This book is an absolute must read for any fans of the Jason Bourne series who also happen to love paranormal. The story was right up my alley. From start to finish, I was completely immersed in what was happening. There were several parts that made me do a double take to see if that really happened. I cannot recommend this book enough. Run, go get this book. You can thank me later.
Many thanks to Net Galley for providing me with an ARC of this novel.

3-4*
Faat paced wolves & Lycan read.. with brother wolves forced to protect the crown...

"They are the ultimate weapon. The ultimate secret. They are the Crown’s wolves.
Lycan Roman Lanzo and his brothers are bound—by magic, no less—to serve the Crown of England. All he knows is honor, violence, blood, magic, and death. Which is exactly when he finds her. A rare female Lycan, gorgeous, fierce, powerful, and with no memory of who or what she is. Now everything in Roman’s blood wants to help her, protect her, and—damn it all to hell—want her.
Nova woke knowing only that her leather Goth get-up was riding up in the wrong places, and that she had to find Roman. Since then, every moment is a new and unsettling insight into her gifts, her dangerous skills, who she is, and what she wants…including this daunting, muscled Lycan whose name is tattooed on her skin.
But the Crown knows all about Nova. What she is, what she can do, and just how brutally dangerous a female Lycan can become. Now they want her put down for good. And they have their perfect weapon of choice… Roman."

Lucan and wolves pretty fun and fast read.

Thank you goodreads and publisher for my e arc.

This would have been a 4 star read for me except for the grammatical, continuity, and dialogue issues this book had which often had me rereading sentences to make sense of things. The author really needs a better editor to fix some pretty glaring mistakes. It also lacked depth and explanation when it came to the background of the characters. I get the author wants to create an air of mystery for the reader, but she kept it too surface level for me to really get into a universe that has vampires, werewolves, ghosts, witches, angels and other supernatural beings.

In some ways, there was also a lack of creativity when it came to the creatures that lived among the humans and it was explained away by saying that most of what we know about them are myths. Just seems lazy IMO, but I did enjoy the story enough and wanted to see what happens to Nova and Roman's brothers and how their connection all ties together. The action was great for a romance type story with lots of fights and badassery going on. I also liked the quirkiness of the characters. They seemed real so even though there were some technical issues with this book, I sill liked it and am starting on book #2 next.

Roman Lanzo is blood bound to the Crown. Does he want to be? No. He has no choice. He and his brothers were cursed by a witch. While in a club, a rare she-Lycan with no memory shows up with his name tattooed on her wrist. As if life wasn't already complicated.

Nova doesn't remember how she got here. She doesn't even know who she is. All she knows is, she has a tattoo of some guy named Roman on her wrist.

I really enjoyed this unique story. I love PNR books. I've never read a Lycan book where they don't actually shift. You didn't feel like something was missing because of the vast amount of details into what they actually do. In this book, we've got Lycans, witches, mages, ghosts...I could keep going. This was my first book by Zoe Forward and definitely won't be my last.

Roman and Nova were the perfect compliment to each other. They fought their attraction while unable to stay away. I loved the suspense of this story and I truly did not know how it was going to end. You are left with a little nugget at the end for the next book. I can't wait to read it! 🖤

Nova wakes up with no knowledge of who she is or where she is from, other than a cell phone text message and a tattoo of ROMAN on her wrist. Roman is one of the Crown Wolves, cursed to protect and serve the Crown and humans against all things unhuman. Roman has never thought beyond his next job, because he never imagined it possible with his curse. Meeting Nova changes his desires and he will stop at nothing to keep her alive when his next job is to eliminate her.

Bad Moon Rising is not your standard werewolf paranormal romance. More creative and realistic than most fantasies, I was drawn into Roman and Nova’s story immediately. It helps that their chemistry is extremely intense, but both characters are deep and intriguing and the storyline is full of action packed adventure. As this is the first in a series, I’m excited to see where the story goes in the next installment.

*received this as an ARC for an honest opinion**
So this is my first time reading from this author and I must say that I enjoyed it. This is the first book in this series. So Nova wakes up and cannot remember anything at all just that there is a mobile phone that tells he to do things and a name on her wrist. She see Roman and he is hot man to look at, she knows that he can hurt her but he doesnt. Roman and his brothers are to serve the Crown (through magic). Roman is attracted to Nova and has a need to protect her (he knows what she is even if she doest). The Crown doesnt want Nova to exist because she is a danger to them and they want Roman to get rid of Nova, yet will he do that or go against the Crown?

I have went back and forth on the review for this book. There's a lot of world building, character building and bringing us into this supernatural world. It took a bit to get into the story, to feel connected to these characters and all of the information needed to enjoy the suspense that goes along with it. Nova, with so many questions and Roman, so determined to do what is right... I did enjoy their connection, that they click so well together. These other characters, family, friends, enemies, add a lot to it. If you enjoy paranormal suspense, a completely new world, then this is it.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
