I obsessed with this series! I love Slice of life manga and ESPECIALLY Slice of Life manga that revolves around food and cooking. These three books are full of cozy moments and interesting recipes. The pacing is definitely on the slower side and the romance is on the back burner (haha!) but still a lovely time all around.

I wish I could give this a million stars!!!! These two have a direct link to my heart, I LOVE THEM. Their relationship just feels SO real and authentic and it feels like we have known them for so long and like I could walk past these two on the street they are so well written. Their friendship and their OBVIOUS developing feelings for each other and the pining and the absolutely beautiful framing of the panels…UGH. The mangaka POPPED OFF with this volume because there were so many panels that just took my breath away and I just had to stop and take it in, particularly the panel towards the end of chapter 29 where Haru says “it’s because you’re here…” I couldn’t look away. And Haru’s photography exhibition! If irl love isn’t like how Aki and Haru love each other then I don’t want it!!

I wish I had their life fr 😭 there's only three volumes out so far (I'm assuming there will be more, there was no mention of it being the final volume on the author's note) but i already feel so attached to these characters and their friends. As always, if you need a lot of stuff to happen in your books, this is not the series for you, but if you're good with plot-light stories, this is such a sweet one!

One million shiny little heart eyes!!!!! I really really really really like this series & this I am so so so so so pleased with where things are headed! The food is looking AMAZING (as always) & the story is so sweet and lovely! This wrapped up in a nice way, but I'm so stoked it seems like we'll get more in this world! Can't wait for book 4!

4.5 ✨🥰🥰🫶🏽🫶🏽 This was a fun cozy manga series! I hope more books come out in the future! But I’m also happy with how things wrapped up! It’s so coincidental that I was applying to jobs and at the same time I was reading about Aki and Haru applying for jobs lol! Best friends to lovers romance ever!! I wish all friends to lovers stories were this good

Aki and Haru are finishing up college and finding jobs, which may take the two friends far apart for a time. The recipes are interesting. I wonder if they'll get more involved when they aren't on a college student's budget. The look at Japanese life and the interview process was interesting, too.

It just ends!? What about a chapter set in the future showing their life together? That would’ve been a better ending in my opinion…..

I guess, though, that this series was more so about the food, so I can’t be too mad about the ending. Regardless, I just don’t like how it ended. (╯°益°)╯彡┻━┻

FML, I thought it was just playing for gaze rather gays. Turns out this was a romance series all along and bromance is dead. Someday, I'll find another series with platonic male romantic friendship, but that day is not today.

So sad that this is the final volume, although I do hold out hope that there will be a sequel since the author’s afterword kind of hinted at it?

I TAKE IT BACK THE ROMANCE IS SO GOOD HERE and it doesn’t stray away from the main plot/what connected them either. Why did it have to end I wanna see them as lovers who come home to each other 😭😭😭

Let’s get this out of the way: in volume one, I was like, “I don’t know if this is BL,” but in volume three we have absolute clear confirmation of these two nuggets having Romantique Feelings for each other. What’s fun is that some/most of their friends suspected their feelings before they admitted anything to themselves.

Since this series is slice of life, there’s not a lot of plot points to cover or point out. But I do want to say:
◍ Nothing exciting happens, but a lot of fun stuff happens.
◍ Some of the food Aki makes sounds really delicious and it even makes me want to pick up a hot plate, but let’s not and say we did.
◍ I absolutely want to read おかわり, but I want to wait until it’s at least a leetle bit cheaper, or maybe there’ll be secondhand copies.

Fun read, would absolutely recommend if you’re just looking for some nominal BL with mostly slice of life friends and hanging out.
