Battalion Chief Becca Roberts is a hero firefighter in Carlsbad—even more so when she performs a miraculous rescue one night, saving another firefighter from certain death. Unfortunately, Becca is now a celebrity in town and on social media, and she hates every minute of it.
Investment advisor Krissy Kincaid is smart, driven and really good at making her wealthy clients—and herself—plenty of money. She is also the very definition of a playgirl. In Southern California, where beautiful women are as plentiful as palm trees, Krissy has a different partner in her bed practically every week.
These two women have been best friends for four years. They spend most of their free time together, have frequent sleepovers at each other’s houses, and they are the queens of having silly arguments. Neither one can imagine life without the other.
Yet, nothing romantic has ever happened between them…
However, this is Carlsbad, California. Women somehow find a way to end up together here…
“No More Wasted Time” is the funny, steamy-sexy newest installment of the popular Carlsbad Village Lesbian Romance series by Sabrina Kane. It’s lighthearted, full of characters you’ll fall in love with, and is refreshingly low-angst.
**Sadly, some startling revelations came out today about the author that I can’t support. please read more about it and make up your own opinion about maybe reading the book. ** https://jae-fiction.com/another-catfi...
I read this a long time back but never reviewed. I’ve since learned that it wasn’t written by Sabrina Kane, a young lesbian author. It was actually written by a middle aged man who couldn’t sell many books authored by his own name. This has deeply upset me and it disgusts me to read intimate scenes, wondering if he got his jollies as he wrote them.
A multitude of us are upset how we were catfished by him. I thought I was ‘her’ friend. You can read more on Jae’s blog:
The writing is great, the sex is hot (as expected) but I'm a little underwhelmed. It's hard to get excited about a book with no conflict and no angst. I mean, at least give me one or the other.
Well i read this in less than 24 hours but i was asleep for like 9 of them.
What I’m realizing anout Kane’s books is that all couples have their unique aspects. Vanessa and Megan have their
Chloe and Morgan have their history but still have so much to learn. Amy and Sally have their instant bond. Rachel and Ainsley have their flirting.
Becca and Krissy have four years of love to explore on a deeper level.
What i loved most is that even when they became girlfriends their relationship didnt change it just expanded. Although i wish there were more before moments (probably cuz I’m smutted out)
But they were just utterly adorable. Its like absolutely nothing changed except they got to sleep together now.
As a person that is not into too angsty books, this is my comfort zone, I mean it's not like everything is perfect, just seems more standard, of course there are very difficult situations out there and there are million people going thru them and the books that cover those topics are great too but considering that at this moment in my life I'm into simple, not stressful stuff, this is my thing.
So, this story follows: Krissy Kincaid a young, beautiful, eager to enjoy life, investment advisor who has been crushing on her best friend since she met her but considering that basically she is untouchable she just plays around with every other girl she finds attractive and understands the rules of the game: nothing serious will ever happen. Krissy's best friend is Chief Becca Roberts. Becca Roberts is a mature, analytical, reserved, Battalion Chief (firefighter) who also has been developing feelings for her bestie for a long time now. This story covers how their relationship starts, grows and flourish.
Fun fact: I love Carlsbad, I was in San Diego for New Years this year and I stayed there. It's just beautiful. It was the kind of place where I could see myself living so all the references are accurate AF.
Best friends to lovers romance done with zero angst. Sex scenes are hot! Which is common among Sabrina Kane novels. I loved that she has this turned into a series and can't wait to see who is next in the Carlsbad royalty.
It took me almost two weeks to complete this book 😔. At some point I wanted more plot than s*x but 🤷🏻♀️, it's my final book for the year at least we got happy ending
No More Wasted Time is actually more of a sweet romance for the most part than the previous Carlsbad adventures by Sabrina. It has to be because for the most part Becca and Krissy are friends - VERY close friends but supposedly still friends. Somehow though, the queen of romantic steam, Sabrina, still manages to work in some scenes guaranteed to raise your temperature even within the bounds of friendship. The story opens in a very dramatic chapter featuring Sabrina’s usual attention to detail and by chapter two we’re into orgasms aplenty.
As the story develops I grew to know and love Becca and Krissy more than before (although I still think Krissy is gobby) and the idea of them together became an essential outcome I couldn’t live without.
No romance is complete without it’s share of drama and, of course, Sabrina delivers. The only thing her regular readers may miss is any mention of the infamous Chapter 25, although we do get a cameo from “Jillian Ashley”. (If you don’t know who she is or what the significance of Chapter 25 is then you haven’t read the previous books… and need to rectify this gap in your life immediately!)
A must read you won’t be able to put down that lurches from sweet to steamy to emotional and back again as fast as a speeding fire engine hurtling towards a 15 story building inferno.
I've read this story a few times because really, who doesn't love a story about a sizzling hot lesbian firefighter described as Wonder Woman, and her equally sexy best friend. I loved it so much that I bought the deal on her website for three autographed books as my Mother's Day present to myself. These autographs are unlike those you would get waiting in line at your favorite bookstore, they are very personalized and hilarious. Sabrina Kane could just be like all the rest and simply write, " to Deb happy reading, Sabrina Kane." This author goes above and beyond to make her readers feel special and in these times where everyone has their nose in a phone, it's like a breath of fresh air. I had her autograph this book, of course her first book, Nothing But A Fling, and my favorite from the Cornwall series, What Comes After One: A Cornwall Lesbian Romance, which centers on my favorite Cornwall character Tamsin. I dare you not fall in love with this brilliant ginger character like this bloody American has.
It was erotica. The whole thing. Fantastic erotica. The plot was pretty simple, best friends fall Iove, are angsty about it for 30 seconds, then get together and have sex in many ways and are happy. In the first quarter of the book pretty much everything is resolved and the rest is just sex. I'm not complaining. We need these types of books too.
I'm just gonna say I wish maybe one day I'd be lucky enough to have a relationship like the ladies of Carlsbad. I love that there is hardly any angst and that they can communicate openly with each other and just be who they are. Its nice to read that when everything else lately seems predictable.
A fun quick read filled with lotsa of steamy scenes. It’s L word on the pages! Really had to want in cold shower after every erotic scenes. It’s funny dialogues and great characters that wanting you having all these women live in your city, instead of Carlsbad.. or makes you want to move to Carlsbad!!
“‘I’m glad I’m going to be stuck with you in our next lives,’ she said. For a moment, there was no reply from Krissy. But then… Becca felt the mattress shift and suddenly Krissy was pressed against Becca’s back, her arm curling around Becca’s waist. Becca closed her eyes, a strange sense of relief washing over her. It was the same feeling she always got when she found something important she had misplaced. Krissy, her breath warm against the back of Becca’s neck, said, ‘The next life and the one after that, Becs.’”
Heroine: 29 year old Krissy Kincaid Heroine: 34 year old Becca Roberts
Best friends in love with each other but too scared to ruin their friendship by confessing their true feelings. Krissy is a bit of a player. Different women each week. Becca is a firefighter badass. When they do eventually take that step. Everything is on speed mode.
Cliffhanger – no (book #5 in series) POV - Krissy & Becca
This book was a steamy read. I was rooting for both Becca and Krissy from the first page. I so loved the sexy firefighter heroine too. A must read by every lesfic fan.
Hero firefighter who also plays volleyball, what more do you need? Another sexy, fast paced romance from Sabrina Kane that keeps you reading into the wee hours.
This is the fifth book in the series and I have to say, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Strong, yet sensitive and beautiful lesbians. What more could you ask for?
Great humor, great characters, great romance, great story. This series delivers the same quality throughout, recommend you have a fan close by or the ac on.
This is the best book in the series so far(in my opinion). It has a lot of sexy time buuuuttt I loved their chemistry and the story kept me entertained.
