Wow, what a read!
Jaime went to France as an housekeeper in an old presbytery. She was hiding from her past. She took an instant liking to Father De Vere, but he too was hiding. They both had dark secrets but who or what were they hiding from? And who wanted to track them down?
A fantastic storyline by this talented author. Grabbing you from the first chapter the story builds, keeping the suspense and mystery mounting, I was truly hooked. Its one of those books where you keep reading wanting to know what will happen next but don't want it to end. Full of twists and turns, the best at the end that was like the biggest firework in a display of intricate pyrotechnics. Wanting to read more! Can't recommend enough!

In this wonderful thriller by A J Saunders, Jaime moves to France to work as a housekeeper with cooking and cleaning duties for two old priests in a presbytery, to get away from her stalker post a trial for murder. There she is attracted to Father De Vere or Dante. She had left England on her brother’s suggestion. Unexpected things happen rather fast as Jaime struggles to deal with her past. The end is surprising. There are several points of view in this interesting suspense novel.

Jaime is a young woman who is escaping England. We don't know why other than a court case, a stumbled upon crime, and some letters. She took a job in France to be a housekeeper to the clergy in a small town. She seems very nervous and timid, almost unsure of her surroundings. I kinda got the vibe of paranoid.
She is adjusting well to life in France and has acquaintance Father De Vere, a hot priest. They have some interesting conversations and even funny moments. Her new job is working out well, but of course, her mind is dirtier than I initially thought. She seems to relive that fateful nights and the notes and dead messengers don't help her forget it. It makes for some great conversations and words in the book.
This book jumps back and forth between Jaime's perspective and Hyde's. Hyde is the stalker who is intent on making her life miserable. Brother to the original criminal, her testimony helped send to jail. He gets a few Clair to her whereabouts but nothing too solid; however, I think she unknowingly gave it away.
Interesting, it seems Father De Vere has something to hide. He seems to be jealous of anyone who tries to cloak his housekeeper. Also, a strange encounter and a sightseer at the church didn't quite fit in. So Father De Vere is Dante, and we get some more information on this man.
This book gets steamy. She finally claims her man, but who knew a priest and a housekeeper. I swear the stuff of fantasies. However, they are both still dealing with the complex issue of the past. When it jumps to the psychopath's point of view, don't be surprised by the darkness that comes out. This guy makes Hannibal look sane. This book doesn't shy on the romance front either the love between Dante and Jaime is on fire.
Oh, this book gets all sorts of twisted with the suspense. And you won't guess the sick surprises the author has in store for you, the reader, to discover. This book is graphic and definitely for a mature audience. This book takes a while to get to the ending, but it is worth the read. This story is full of love, suspense, and an incident that could actually happen in real life. Although this is one heck of a creepy story, it was a great read.
I enjoyed the mystery of this story and the thriller aspects of it. I also love that the author included steamy romance as well. Hyde and Seek was a tremendous psychological and thrilling, mind-boggling story. How can so many people's lives be so interconnected without knowing it, and some of those people be on the right side of the law and others on the wrong side of it. The author did a fantastic job interweaving this tale with tons of hints and activities that leave you guessing and at the edge of your seat to see what happens next.

I was not quite sure what to expect within the pages of this book - but boy was I in for a treat!
An intriguing story. The opening chapters drew me in with its interesting characters and the slow build of tensions and suspense as the story unfolded.
Attempting to elude a persistent stalker, Jaime Sanders flees England to start her new position of housekeeper in a remote village in France.
Her plan was to keep a low profile in the hope the police will capture the slippery villain before he can find her again.
What a thrilling ride this cleverly plotted story was. I loved the suspenseful love interest in Jaime-Dante relationship. With a sinister undertone this multi-layered plot delved deeper into family ties shaking the foundation of Jaime’s beliefs.
A tale of fear, manipulation, blackmail, envy, and rage, but also a tender heartfelt love story bringing the book to its satisfactory conclusion. I feel this story would appeal to crime enthusiasts and those who enjoy a romance driven psychological drama with a splash of spice, and the unexpected.

I found Hyde and Seek by Adley Saunders to be an exciting, fast paced thriller, full of suspense, which I found hard to put down. There is also a romantic element to the book with both main characters having their own secrets.
Jaime flees to France to start a new life to escape her stalker in England. You can almost feel her desperation and the writers convey how frightening it must be to be stalked very convincingly. It makes you realise how alone and scared someone in that situation must be and also feel as though they can trust nobody.
Interestingly the writers devote some chapters to the stalker so you can see the reasoning behind his actions from his point of view.
I really enjoyed this book and at no time could I work out how it was going to end. I would have given it 5 stars, however I thought the very final part of the puzzle was a little too far fetched and unnecessary. I will not spoil the ending but just wish it had ended a little sooner. Other readers may not think way this but even so it did not ruin my enjoyment of this clever book.

An intriguing page turner about Jaime who takes off to France to become a housekeeper for two priests in a presbytery. Jaime is on the run from a stalker back in England and hopes that the clean break in another country will keep her safe. Jaime has an instant attraction to Father De Vere, but he appears cold and distant towards her. Unbeknown to her, the priest has his own dark secrets which are slowly revealed throughout the plot.
Both Jaime and the priest have sinister characters trying to track them down, but both try to protect the other by initially not sharing their pasts (as they are hopeful that their problems are over). The plot unfolds at an enticing pace, while keeping the suspense and mystery mounting; in turn making the reader curious enough to want to read on.
The story line has multiple layers and side plots which create plenty of twists and turns along the way. There are steamy scenes, blackmail, violence and mysterious characters galore - all of which make the perfect ingredients for a juicy novel. Bravo!

Hyde and Seek had me hooked from the first paragraph. Jaime was running away from something or someone and the intensity of the situation gripped me. She has arrived in France and becomes a housekeeper to a priest. She doesn’t really like him but tries to keep him happy, cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. She feels safe hiding at a rectory.
The chapters alternate between Jaime and Dante, the priest. We find out why he behaves the way he does and why Jaime has a hard time warming up to him. He is hiding from someone or something too. An ex-girlfriend appears on the scene, after being blackmailed.
The story is suspenseful with a mutual attraction between Jaime and Dante, that they both suppress because of the circumstances.
This was a real page-turner. Lots of action, suspense, drama and romance. I recommend reading this book. It was great!

An excellent, well written and entertaining read. The story is about a woman who moves to France to get away from a dangerous stalker. All is going well until he finds her again and her life spectacularly unravels through a series of twists and turns. The ending has me a little unsettled though. Don’t want to to give any spoilers away but I reckon there is something more about the thing in the vase. But that’s what’s good about the book. It keeps you guessing even at the very end.

AJ Saunders’ "Hyde And Seek" is an intensely suspenseful novel of murder, blackmail and passion. Jaime, who is English, is trying to hide herself from a nasty stalker and she decides to take a housekeeping job in Rambouillet, a small town in France, it is far away from her home in England, and she thinks that her psychotic stalker will not find her. However, little does Jaime know that besides avoiding a stalker was hard, avoiding her heart for a handsome priest is even harder. Will Jaime’s stalker find her? Can Jaime avoid this hot-chemistry she has for the priest?
I love this spine-tingling page-turner. I was so excited to read a novel that combines thriller and a little spicey-shake of romance. When I finished reading the book I was not disappointed; the book promised everything a captivating read should be. The book held me hostage with the beautiful setting descriptions and the cast of characters from the heroes to the bad guys. I loved each character.
The authors wrote an alluring suspenseful novel that had my heart pumping and my fingers flipping the pages. Easily five stars.

This is an exciting blend of mystery, thriller, and love story, which gripped me from the very first page. Multiple POVs deepen the mystery as readers struggle to understand who Jaime is running from and the secrets her employer, Father Dante de Vere, cannot share with her. There is even access to the thoughts of the criminals who are part of the twisting, turning plot, which kept me on the edge of my seat right to the very last page. And yes, amidst the danger and scares, I loved the romance, which seemed so impossible at first and bloomed so beautifully as the book went on.

Captivating romantic psychological thriller!
This read serves up slow burn romance goosebumps and psychological thriller spine-tingling chills in a perfectly plotted story. The intense Jaime-Dante relationship, along with the thriller twisty-turns make “Hyde and Seek” an undeniable 5-star reader’s delight. It is beautifully written and impossible to put down because the reader has to know what happens next. I am captivated by this story, which I’ll think about for a long time! Highest recommendation.

Entertaining Read
Plot twists abound in this book by A.J. Saunders. The characters were intriguing and I could only guess at what was going to happen next. As the story develops, there are quite a few unexpected surprises. An enjoyable read for a lazy afternoon. There was one point were I almost put the book down. If anything bad had happened to Petrus, it would have be over for me. Luckily, Petrus was fine, I breathed a sigh of relief, and finished the story! I’ll leave it to you to figure out who Petrus is.

Great read
I loved this intense suspense that keeps you guessing all the way. The relationship that grows with Dante almost requires a book of its own, but with the added drama to help their story along the way its brilliant. I liked how the stalkers pov was thought of too and it really did bring a new dynamic. If there's anything stopping me giving 5 stars, I'd just say the last plot twist was unrequired. But thoroughly enjoyable story.

Mystery, Suspense & Romance
This novel was great. It had a little of everything to keep me reading until the end. Jaime moves away after being stalked and meets the mysterious priest, Dante.
Her problems follow her to France. Jaime is strong woman but is struggling to deal with her past.
I don’t want to spoil the story but if you like suspense, this is a great choice.
I really loved the characters and Petrus because who doesn’t love a loyal dog?

I really loved this intense thriller. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I enjoyed the fact that Jaime and Dante were mixed up in two different predicaments, adding to the overall suspense. I found their love story interesting and on equal footing to the main plot. There were quite a few different plots going on at the same time, not all equally necessary, but even so, it was a thrilling read and one I would definitely recommend.

This is a fast-paced story filled with suspense, danger, and romance. Normally, stories are told from one point of view, but this one is done from the perspective of multiple characters, making it a more interesting read. The story sometimes jumps around a bit, between the present and past memories, which can get a little confusing. Otherwise, the story moves along nicely sucking you in. I love the often humourous descriptions of the French village.
This is the second book by these authors that I have read, and it is just as good as the first, Whispering Magpies. The authors are very adept at setting the mood and taking you through twists and turns like a rollercoaster. And just like that previous book, the ending will be one you can't predict.

Decent romance, but a poor thriller
I really wanted to like Hyde and Seek. The story started off with an interesting premise, a beautiful setting and a great setup for an interesting plot to develop. The writing was good, it seemed I was on for an enjoyable read.
Unfortunately, the further I got into the novel, the fewer of its original qualities remained. As Jaime and Dante started developing a love interest, the novel drifted further and further from its premise. A side plot surrounding Dante’s ex develops, other men try to steal Jaime’s heart, and we even read scenes from her stalker as he makes his way to France. But none of it moves the main plot, as the stalker simply has no idea where she lives. The storylines remain disconnected and feel immaterial.
The romance between Jaime and Dante wraps up nicely, but the story drags on. Chapter after chapter we read about their mundane lives. Jaime visits Dante’s family, again. Jaime feels insecure and should confide in him, but doesn’t, for the umpteenth time. They have sex once more.
It feels as though the author knows it’s dragging, but they can’t help themselves. The writing feels less inspired and becomes more an iteration of facts and events.
Things turn more interesting again around the 70% mark, but at that I frankly didn’t care too much anymore. What didn’t help was that most major developments happened through accidental circumstances rather than careful plotting. The stalker starts blackmailing Dante’s ex as the result of a “lucky” find. The stalker finds out Jaime’s address because he frequents the same car mechanic, who doesn’t just recognise her, but knows her exact address. Even the ending, where the storylines do come together, feels more like a circumstantial get-together than a natural conclusion of the plot. It shouldn’t have surprised me when there was a final “encore” to the plot that then also resolved itself through a chance finding.
I think the best argument that can be made for the novel is that it genuinely represents life for the victim of a vicious stalker. It turns the mundane into a dread as they live their ordinary lives in fear and paranoia, straining their relationships.

This is a thrilling mystery with a mixture of intriguing storylines. Jaime, the protagonist, spends much of her time trying to hide from her stalker.
Lots of twists into the very end. The author clearly has a talent for writing a clever constantly changing dramatic story.

Wow... this story took me on a wild ride full of twists and turns I did not see coming! Between the plight of the MC to the twisted POV of the stalker. This story weaves dark and light so well. And the steamy scenes were so exquisitely done. I was hooked from the very beginning. This book grabs you and won't let go.

A Terror of Two Cities
A great thriller mystery with multiple twists and turns that kept the right amount of pace throughout the bok. I lived the characters and the hide and seek that both main characters had to endure to find peace and a new life in escaping a dark secret past.

Enjoyable read
The romance between Jaime and Dante is full of tension and easy to follow. There are quite a few unexpected twists to the story, which is quite entertaining.
There is a lot of head hopping, which is why four stars instead of five. Otherwise, good read!

An exciting read!
Hyde and Seek was fun to read and the story moved well. I even enjoyed the surprise at the end. I highly recommend this book if you love mystery, intrigue, a love story plus a plot twist.

This author and she has not disappointed. Hyde and Seek is a great title for this suspense filled story and don’t forget the romance. Enjoyed it from start to end. Well done . Recommended to anyone who enjoys a good suspense .

What a great read, enjoyed the suspense.

First of all, "Hyde and Seek" is a great title, and gives you a fair indication of what sort of book it is. The cover on Amazon is fabulous, eye-catching and fitting. (Goodreads shows an older cover, and it's not bad either.) The story is falls into the category of romantic suspense, which is one of my favorites. I thought the authors (two friends who write together) did certain things really well. They are very good at description, which can be overdone or underdone; here, it is done right. There are explicit sex scenes, and they aren't overly detailed or too frequent. They came up with a creative back-story for Dante, and I liked Jaime, and the other characters in general. (This Jaime pronounces her name unlike any other Jaime I've ever heard of.) The villain too, had an interesting background/situation.
One thing that bothered me were the incomplete sentences. A few examples:
"Unless miserable father Gregoire's attitude was wearing off on him."
"Frayed his nerves to the quick."
"Hated when he wasn't in control."
(Some authors may use incomplete sentences on purpose, but I hate seeing them; it is a pet peeve of mine.)
The pacing could have been better. Once the two leads come together, secrets are still kept from one to the other for no good reason, even when keeping the secret could increase the danger of the situation. The second part of the book dragged a bit for me. I did think the ending was strong.
On the whole, I found this to be an enjoyable read. I would recommend "Hyde and Seek" to fans of crime/romance or romantic suspense.

Oh, la, la! This is a very enjoyable steamy romance with a thriller element incorporated into it.
To escape the torment of a stalker, Jamie relocates to France where she takes employment as a housekeeper to two priests—one elderly and the other, well Dante definitely isn’t elderly. He’s young, handsome and extremely hot. Jamie is instantly attracted to him, but he’s a priest and she can’t have him. But why does he look at her the same way?
Hyde and Seek is a steamy romance you won’t want to put down. The thriller element—just who is the stalker and what is in Dante’s past that makes him so mysterious—keeps you guessing.
Highly recommended.
