Weeks of pure indulgence, conservative parties, and expensive alcohol—all for her to mix with London's elite society and repair her family’s tarnished reputation. Educated, elegant, Bethany Dalton is heading for a summertime ‘retreat’ that her parents are forcing her to attend.
With his enticing green eyes and rebellious tattoos, Alexander Edwardson is exactly what Bethany needs to avoid in order to succeed. Known for his playboy ways and lothario reputation, Alex can’t keep his eyes off Bethany as soon as she steps into the ballroom. He’s completely distracted by the return of his childhood friend and desperate to make her his for the night.
His persistence is the start of an intense, desire-filled relationship, and Bethany soon finds herself far more wrapped up in his world than she was ever supposed to be.
Except she isn’t Bethany.
With her secret hanging over her, and their time ticking away... what will happen when the truth is finally exposed?
Or is it deceit that really brings two people together within this elite society?
After all, it's not only the underprivileged who have secrets to hide.
4.5⭐️ A brilliant enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, forbidden romance by Jessica! Kate, the eldest daughter of the Dalton family was groomed to present herself as the proper, well-mannered, wealthy heiress in the high society in London.
All her life, her mom Isabelle controlled her every move, what she wore, what she ate, what she did and soon who she should marry to remain in the high ranks. Reputation was everything to Isabelle and the effect rubbed on Kate too. She had never done anything to tarnish the family name until a night out where she met Leo.
His playful ways and light-hearted conversation put her at ease and she wanted to know more about the mysterious, handsome gentleman. However, her friends spotted his fake designer clothes. He was involved with the wrong crowd who planned to rob from them. She was scarred by the incident and swore never to let her control slip again.
Fast forward 5 years, Leo showed up as Kate’s new chauffeur. Needless to say, she threw a fit. She did not trust him. Despite him feeling sorry for what happened, he too dislike her spoiled, entitled attitude. They definitely got off on the wrong foot. The insults, anger and hatred towards one another did not diminish but rather escalated. The sexual tension between them literally dripped off the page. When it erupted, sparks flew. Tongues and teeth clashed and they explored each other like never before. There was a right amount of smut and every scene was *chef’s kiss*
As they spent more time together, they realised they had more in common than they thought. They started to ease into comfortable conversations without killing each other. I absolutely loved how their relationship progressed, it did not felt rushed and it was believable. Having read ALEX, we knew how Kate’s little sister Bethany was. She continued to be the villain in the story, destroying everything regardless of who was impacted in the crossfire. I loved how the ending concluded, not in anyway cliche. Jessica took the time to tie the loose ends and it warmed my heart to see how far Kate and Leo came, from being at each other’s throats, then learning to be civil around each other, to finally reconciling and opening their hearts to one another.
I’ve been dying to read Alex since I read the blurb and it exceeds all my expectations. The plot, characters and writing are all on point.
Bethany’s parents requested her to attend a summer retreat for six weeks in London. The goal was to socialise with the city's elite society and repair their family’s tarnished reputation caused by her sister. Not wanting to oblige, Bethany hired her best friend to fill in and pretend to be her. She simply had to follow the instructions and she’ll be paid in return.
I was captivated from the first page. The level of details put into describing the luxurious couture, the extravagant parties and the over-the-top leisure activities is just incredible. What made it even more intriguing was, just like 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩, that world was not what it seemed. Under all that glam, it’s full of deception and scandals.
How can I not talk about the explosive chemistry between 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 and Alex? He was completely taken by her when they reunited at the retreat. 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 was told to stay away from him, but his persistent pursuit and enticing emerald eyes made it impossible for her to resist.
Alex was known for his playboy ways and 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 tried really hard to not fall for it. But feelings grow as they spend more time together. My heart just melts when Alex recites what 𝘉𝘦𝘵𝘩 likes. 𝐔𝐠𝐡 and that slow-burn makes me go insane, you can feel the desire, the passion and the love shared. It was so worth it when they finally gave in.
The plot twist towards the end, I did not see that coming at all. I’m so happy that this is a series. I love the interactions among the supporting characters and I definitely want to read their stories. Bravo Jessica for nailing this first book, can’t wait for the next one!
I immensely enjoyed reading Alex, and of course, I had to read Kate! Jessica Lou's execution skills are outstanding! Kate and Leo (hero) are incredibly stubborn; they barely tolerated each other. From the start, their conversations were heated and argumentative, but eventually, their dialogues changed to playful banter.
I loved seeing Kate and Leo's relationship slowly evolve from hate/dislike to love. Being honest and revealing little bits about themselves to each other. The tension between Kate and Leo is phenomenal! For Kate, the high society and her reputation were so crucial to her. However, as Kate spent more time with Leo, she let her guard down, and Kate began to question the things she valued the most. Realising her happiness is more important than anything else.
Great storyline and character development throughout the book. The book cover really represents this book! Jessica did an excellent job in incorporating it into the plot. As well as tying in the events from book #1, Alex, the transition was seamless.
Wealthy, entitled, polite and even a bit spoiled, Kate is everything to be expected from someone a part of London's "high society". As the eldest daughter of her family, Katherine Dalton plays a huge role in representing the "Daltons". Reputation is everything to Katherine's family, well, namely to her mother, Isabella. Kate is careful with her behaviour because reputation is just as important to her. In the spotlight, under watchful gazes, Kate's every move is scrutinized and judged. Five years ago, Kate met Leo; throwing caution to the wind, Kate was curious about this stranger.
Leo Howard was "hanging out" with the "wrong crowd" when his path crossed Kate's. As soon as they met, sparks flew between Kate and Leo. At the time, Kate did not expect the chain of events to happen, for things to go south so quickly, to change her life. Present time Leo is Kate's new chauffeur, and she's not happy about this situation. Unfortunately, there's nothing Kate can do about it, but she will do her best to make it difficult for Leo. And on top of everything else, Leo suddenly becomes her bodyguard.
**I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review
4⭐ First of all, lemme just say how honored I am to have been picked as an ARC reader for this book. Right from the beginning, I knew that this story was going to be quite something - I'm glad to say that I wasn't disappointed one bit. The whole mystery and suspense in the story really came together to end with a plot twist that I didn't see coming. The chemistry between "Bethany" and Alex was there right from the start and had me feeling all kinds of ways. The constant push and pull and the forbidden aspect of the romance between them had me eager to finish the book and see how it ended. Overall, I absolutely loved this well thought out story and I would totally recommend it!
Thank you so much for sending me this ARC to read!
I was immediately intrigued, the first part of the story really set up the rest of the book. I was really excited to see what happened between Kate and Leo.
I got so many Twisted Games vibes as soon as the bodyguard role came into play. Although the spice was much more my style in Kate over Twisted Games.
The side characters really played a big role in adding to this story, I was so angry at a certain few who I won’t mention in this review. But shoutout to Kates dad, he was really there for her when she needed him.
I will definitely be reading Alex the first chance I get. Thank you again to Jessica, love your writing style and I can’t wait to read more from you.
When I first read the blurb for ALEX, I was immediately taken. It carried everything I loved reading, and boy, oh boy, was I not disappointed.
"Beth" is a lovable and relatable character. How can she not be? She's gone through hell and back in life, and yet she's still standing, determined to achieve what she wants. For Alex, I just want to say that it's official; Alexander Edwardson is now one of my favorite book boyfriends. He's attentive, kind, caring, a big ol' cinnamon roll (but ofc he will deny it), and just overall amazing. We all love a man who's whipped. I do wish there was more of his POV, especially his thought process when he found out about the truth. Hal and Wade are also my favorite, although the revelation did shake me to my core. Because damn, I wasn't expecting that. *clears throat* I could go on about how adorable Hanna and Aubrey are, but that'll take a whole essay.
Overall, the story was great, the relationship between 'Beth' and Alex was freaking spicy and hella adorable. And can I just say something about the plot twist in the end?? Because it sure did hit the spot, straight to the heart. And I'm honestly still all in my feels, though it's been a few days since I've finished the book. I'm a sucker for plot twists, angst, and betrayal, and ALEX amazingly delivered it all. The story literally successfully made me gasp out loud (in public). That one chapter where everything was revealed really did it for me. It was beyond incredible.
I honestly can't wait to read more of Jessica's work! The epilogue has me stirring in excitement for what's to come!
The book was such an amazing read, and definitely my cup of tea, or should I grab a bottle of champagne instead? ;)
When I first came across Jessica Lou's author's page/account posting about her upcoming debut novel release, I was immediately intrigued with all the tropes featured in her book! And I just knew I had to read it! Alex is an angsty forbidden romance with a twist of double identity; deception, lies, scandals, secrets and betrayal. Sounds amazing, right? Trust me it's a fantastic read! If you are a romance reader or a fan of these tropes, then this read is your alley! Jessica Lou's writing technique is exquisite; the setting and storyline captivated me. It's an unputdownable read! In the first few chapters, I tried to figure out Bethany's angle in this situation: why she resorted to taking this course of action and her obligation to do so. And as I continued reading on, I started to understand her reasons why. But to go to such lengths... it was intriguing to say the least.
The mystery surrounding "Bethany" 's *real* identity and the synchronization of events tied in so well with each other! I don't want to say too much about Bethany's character because it may spoil your reading experience. All I have to say is that she's a great relatable character. Trying to blend and fit in, in a place where she shouldn't be in the first place Bethany had a lot of internal dialogues with herself. I enjoyed seeing her character evolving as I read a new chapter. Ahh! Alex! I did swoon a bit. He's charismatic; Bethany fought so hard to resist his charms. The tension and chemistry between them are palpable. But Bethany can't give it; she cannot afford any distractions because she has so much to lose. But you can only resist the temptation for so long. Alex had a hard time comprehending Bethany's behavior it him a mental whiplash. And as Bethany played "hard to get", it incited him to pursue her even more.
Bethany is in a complex situation, but it won't her deter from reaching her goal. Or will it? Feeling like "fish out of water", Bethany is way over her head. She's attending an "elite retreat", where London's elite and wealthy get together and mingle at lavishing parties/events. Being in the heart of London's social elite, Bethany is doing her very best to get through these events without any hiccups. But she has her work cut out for her because she didn't anticipate Alexander "Alex". The persistent, charming, handsome and "playboy" eligible bachelor who constantly pops up in her path. She needs to stay away from Alex, but with one look or touch from him, Bethany can't resist him.
"I had no idea what was coming my way. Bethany Dalton was an enigma. And I underestimated her, and her devious ways, more than Warner Huntington III did Elle Woods."
'Alex' had me hooked from that very first 'Legally Blonde' reference, and it never let me go.
The cover says "all is not as it seems" and that is not an understatement, there is a lot going on in this elite society which reads like a British 'Gossip Girl' (but better?) and I absolutely loved it. There's even a Blair Waldorf reference in there if you're paying attention.
The relationship between 'Beth' and Alex is steamy and the anticipation intoxicating. There are so many ups and downs and hand-to-mouth moments it's unputdownable. Just when you think you've figured it all out, there's more to come.
I would recommend this book to every 'young adult' romance reader. If you like your books with love, lust, deception, scandal and a good helping of steam, this one's for you. Just don't buddy read it with your mum, whatever you do.
I was lucky to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and I hope you appreciate my honesty and lack of spoilers (because it was HARD not to say more!)
Now go and read this excellent debut novel - available on 12th November on Amazon (pre-order now!)
What can I say about this story. Well, there are multiple things I can say. One, the author that made it is so amazing. Two, the characters inside the story are just as amazing. Three, the plot twist made me cry, even though I think it wasn't meant to. Four, if you read this book you'll ask yourself if this is really the authors debut novel or she has done underground work she's hiding. And the list goes on and on about how good this book is. I'm so happy I got to be an ARC reader for this amazing book, and wait to see what this author has next!!
"I was never meant to be here, yet somehow it became my salvation. Even if I was burned at the end of it."
HOLY SHIT Y'ALL! This is book is a rollercoaster! I was so not expecting this!
When I signed up for the ARC I thought that this was again a good 'ole scandal book, with maybe a plot twist or 2 and it would be a good read. But shit, Jessica exceeded my expectations by a mile! The way the story picked up with subtle indications to everything that was going to happen, and the feeling when the locations are described to the point where you feel like you are right there with the characters is just ughh perfect!😩✨
From the very first chapter I. Was. Hooked. I love how Beth and Alex's friend-not-friends thing was written, there was always a push and pull between the two, which made their chemistry so much better! And the slow burn oof! You nailed the frustration, want, sexual tension & drama which came along with the elite society. The dialogues of every elderly lady–the snobby, uptight and the underlying malice–were like eyeliner on fleek!
Alex's persistence with his joke and smiles (ugh chef's kiss) and the fact that he would step away a little when she pushed him back, but would always stay close enough to rile her up💯
The plot twists. The plot twists. I...I don't even know what to say. I was speechless. Can't say much here without giving out spoilers here so Imma just say that, don't trust anyone your friend is your enemy and your enemy can never be your friend. 😶
I loved the book! I was not expecting a debut book to be so good, but looks like we have a winner here! Jessica, I can't wait to read more of your work in the future! You just bagged a permanent fan here!❤️
The ratings at a glance: 1. Plot - 4.5⭐ 2. Spice - 4⭐ 3. Overall - 4.5⭐ 4. Characters - 4.5⭐
Review: This was such an intriguing read. Loved the characters and their chemistry was off the charts. 'Bethany' was so unique and Alex was so soft for her.
I loved the epilogue. The suspense and mystery was intriguing. It was mentioned as a trope but the plot twist was insanely good!! Would re-read it again and recommend it to others.
The writing was enchanting and like that of a seasoned author. Hard to believe that this is the author's first debut novel.
I am honored to have been provided with this ARC by the author. This is my honest review.
Forbidden romance, secret identities and half truths throughout this whole book. Alex is Jessica Lou’s debut book and it does not disappoint. Alex has twist after twist after twist that will keep you guessing from the start.
Alex and Bethany’s relationship has fireworks and tension from their very first meeting and I swear I had no idea what was going to happen: is he a bad guy? Is he a good guy? Will they get together? Who exactly is Bethany?
Jessica Lou took a concept and wrote it in a way I’d never read before. It was a pleasure to read and I cannot wait for the next ones in this series.
Okay, so I don't know how to review this incredibly amazayn book without spoiling everything. Like seriously I want to spoil the entire plot for someone. (Please dm me if you volunteer to be spoilt).
Alex literally hooked me up from the very first chapter and that's one of the rarest things that happened to me when it comes to reading. I remember completing the first chapter while doing an online class and murmuring, "Holy f*cking hell I don't think I'm ready for this book." Tbh, I wasn't.
Everytime I completed a chapter, I fell in love with the book a little bit more. This entire book is about elite society and the scandals, secrets and pure chaos in there, something I barely tried when it comes to books but I absolutely love when it comes to this book.
One of the best things about this book is the romance. It's just ✨ chef kisses ✨ I could literally feel the tension between (fake) Bethany and Alex, like holy hell I wasn't expecting for those two to wait for so long to have their first kiss. Seriously I literally squealed "FINALLY!!!" when they had their first kiss!!! Even I was tortured when they almost kissed but didn't 😭
And let's not forget the fact that I was literally waiting, no dying for the fake Bethany to reveal her real name. And I wasn't expecting that name 💀
Oh and the most important thing about this book, the plot freaking twist. Girl, I wasn't expecting that. The number of bombs dropped in this book and the way the entire plot was twisted....... unexpected but outstanding. My jaw dropped every time a bomb was dropped in this book. Alex literally kept me on my toes until the very end and now I'm craving for more!!!!
This book is not a book. It's a masterpiece.
If you love elite society with scandals, double identity, forbidden romance, constant angst and jaw dropping plot twists, then definitely check this book out! Oh and if you're a sucker for betrayal, which is the most important thing about this book, then buy this book. Period. If you don't like any of those tropes, then also you buy this book. And read it. And love it.
I can't wait to read more from this author. She already had her way into my heart with her book.
In shorter words,
Jessica Lou's debut novel, Alex (Book One in The London Elite series), filled with elite society, romance which is forbidden in the eyes of the elite people, constant angst and heartbreaking betrayal, will make sure to keep you on your toes and make your jaw dropped until the very end and leave you crave for more.
The first book I felt so connected to! I went in Alex with very very high expectations and this book didn't dissappoint me. The emotions, the plot, the writing, the character plot basically everything was just perfect! I was hooked from the very first line, the writing is soo soo captivating that forces you to just turn the page! The little details, the plot and each and every character was so well written. I was so immersed in the book that by the end I was on the verge of tears. Alexis suffered through so many hardships and got betrayed by her best friend. I felt genuinely connected to her at that part and it's immensely crushing but she had Alex's support which at the end made it worth it. But it was really the biggest twist out of everything because Hal was so good and I really liked her! Bethany seemed so nice at the start but as the stroy started developing it was clear that what a mean person she was but I never ever expected her to be that cruel! And can we talk about Alex and how attentive he is to Alexis? When he started reciting all those details about her I was in awe! I knew the fact that he had something up on his sleeve when he didn't confront Alexis the time he found out the truth but that fake proposal just to instigate Bethany was a bad move. But he did repent and honestly how angry can you stay from him? I absolutely loved this book!!! Please read this book now!

Elite society books are usually not my go-to books, however! This book is up there as one of my favourites. First of all, the cover as well as the inside formatting is stunning. I personally love inside formatting, it's so satisfying and it just makes the overall experience 100 times better.
ALEX is one of those books that keeps you hooked all the way through. Alongside the romance and the sexual tension between the characters, there is a lot of mystery, intrigue and you were learning something new about the story and the characters every chapter. It all comes together beautifully by the time you get to the end of the book, and you're in shock about all the unfolding events.
Each character had their own story, their own personal things they were going through, which always makes a story better when you have 3D supporting characters. The romance between the two main characters is so fun to read and the tension between them is palpable. While there wasn't an overload of smut/spice chapters, which I don't mind I like books where the plot is also a huge part rather than just overtaken by smut chapters, the sexual tension throughout keeps you going if you're someone who needs smut.
Everything comes toegther and the pieces fit into a perfect puzzle of mystery, intrigue and romance. The side characters have their own stories happening within and it gets you excited about the other books in the series!
First off, I just want to say that ‘Alex’ was SO GOOD! I can’t believe that this is Jessica’s debut novel. With that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book. When I first read the blurb, it really gave me intense Gossip Girl vibes, and to keep it simple, it exceeded my expectations.
‘Bethany’ is a lovable character from the beginning. She’s dealt a crap hand by life, just trying to support herself enough so that she can get out of the situation that she’s in. When the opportunity arises, she agrees to pretend to be someone she isn’t and attends this retreat for the elite, where she meets Alex. She’s under strict rules to leave Alex alone, but her newfound friend convinces her that it’s just for the retreat, so why not have fun while she’s here? Their chemistry is undeniable and no matter how hard she tries, staying away from him is not an option.
The number of twists and turns that happened throughout this book kept me literally on the edge of my seat at all times. I was constantly gasping and screaming because another plot twist was dropped one after the other. I never saw what happened near the end coming, even though I had my suspicions. When you learn who Alex ‘really is,’ I guarantee your draw will drop as much as mine did. Jessica did an amazing job keeping the truth concealed from the reader.
As it goes for spice, it’s definitely not the spiciest book I’ve read. However, the amount of mystery and suspense that is in this book makes up for that. There’s still spice – and it’s hot – and the angst leading up to it makes the wait worth it.
If you like forbidden romance, double identities, betrayal, angst, DRAMA GALORE, all set in a extravagant, castle-like retreat full of old money and secrets? Then this book is definitely for you. I highly recommend it!
**I received this as an ARC for my honest review**
When I first read this blurb for Alex, I knew this book was going to be amazing and that I had to read it. This book had everything and I can’t wait to read more by Jessica Lou!
Alex is set in London and revolves around “Beth” a lovable and relatable character who you immediately want to know more about. “Beth” is attending a retreat where some of the elite and wealthy families of London are present. Right off the bat we know things aren’t as they seem with “Beth”, but how deep do these secrets go is yet to be determined. Alex, what more can I say than he’s a freaking perfect book boyfriend. He’s kind, caring, and undeniable. The passion and tension between “Beth” and Alex was pure torture, but when it reached it’s peak, it was perfection!
The intriguing plot, vivid descriptions, mystery, secrets, scandals, double identity, forbidden romance, and the most unforgettable, jaw-dropping twists of all made this a freaking masterpiece. This book had me on the edge of my seat and it’s hard to believe this is Jessica Lou’s debut. I am most certainly looking forward to reading more from this author.
Where do I even start. Lust, broken trust, revenge and renewed hearts. Jessica had me hooked from the first chapter. There is betrayal and mystery while you are rooting for the underdog who masters London’s high society. The romance will keep you on your toes, the character development was phenomenal and there are twist and turns even up to the ending. This book is perfection and I’m excited to read anything else that Jessica puts out!
First of all, I want to say how much of an honor it was to have read Alex before anyone could.
From the first chapter I was HOOKED. This book was awesome in many ways I cannot describe them, this was the first Elite story I've ever read and I'm glad it was the first one.
Every time I turned the page on my kindle app I was just more hooked than the last one, everything had me hooked! The plot, the plot twists, the characters, but mostly the romance. Do not get me started on the romance. The romance between Bethany and Alex was everything, the sexual tension between those two, pleaseee.
There was not one thing I did not love about this book, but I was so freaking curious to see what Bethany's real name was and I know that other fellow ARC readers shared the same feeling with me and we were not expecting that name. I couldn't keep up with all of those bomb drops Jessica threw at us, she did such a great job at twisting everything around.
Literally, half of the books that have plot twists, I've predicted them. But this book was so unpredictable, I'm not lying. My mind was trying to figure everything out, I bet I looked like a clown when it was not like that at all. Jessica did such a great job with everything, the writing, the twists and plot, the romance, there's nothing wrong with this book.
She knew what she was doing while writing this masterpiece, I've not been this hooked with a book before, ever. There's everything a reader could possibly want in a book like this, secrets, scandals, and lots but lots of angst. I was not at all ready for this book, I expected something more simple, but I was dumbfounded, I was wrong to assume.
This is one of the reads I've enjoyed this year and not a doubt I'll have to re-read it again and again, because I am for freaking sure I will not ever get tired of it and I'll always be surprised with every twist our dear Jessica dropped.
Get yourself a paperback or an ebook on amazon because you will not regret it! This book is everything I've ever want and I'm sure you'll love it as much as I did.
FIVE BIG STARS VERY WELL GAINED!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Oof just read it last night and what a blast it was! It has everything that one may like in a book. Everything is so intricately described as if I am one of the characters. The betrayal, the angst, the temptation, the smut everything makes me feel. And it's what a book is about in my opinion.
What can I say about this book....it was just so good. From start to finish. The Author really drew you in to the what the inner workings of a Socialite is. Seeing it through the eyes of an outsider. I adored every single character, especially Alex. A man after my own heart! This book was the perfect mix of romance and mystery. Let me tell you the ending....well you won’t see it coming!!! Definitely going to be one book I re-read over and over again!
First I would like to say a massive thanks to this brilliant author Jessica Lou. The author has written such a great book, I do not regret reading this book at all. The way the they relayed every word was so creative and different. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone. I love it so much.
Omigosh, this book was incredible! From the beginning, I felt like I was swept into this elite society, an eye-opening experience that was so beautifully and richly described by the author. And from there, I absolutely fell in love with the characters, especially Alex… swoon.
Between the sizzling slow burn and the inherent tension in this storyline, I was gripped and kept saying to myself, “Just one more chapter.” Let me just say that sleep was lost.
And that conclusion? Holy bleep! I did not see that coming at all! The author really nailed it with her twists and turns. Wow. Alex will be a definite re-read for me, and I absolutely cannot wait for the next one!
Let me start by saying how amazing this book experience has been. It is my first arc and I have been sent the book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.
Through the entrancing words Jessica Lou had a plot that anyone could get behind. I enjoyed reading her debut novel 'Alex' quite a lot. It was thoroughly enjoyable and moved at a pace that allowed me to take everything in. The plot thickened as it went along making it all the more enjoyable, ALEX is definitely a book I would read for a second time, probably even a third. In conclusion, contrasting to other betrayal / fake books I've read, Jessica Lou included her own originality in a way that piqued my attention. And obviously, falling in love with the characters was bound to happen.
The plot twists and Jessica's use of them absolutely shook me, and that made it all the more amazing. Not to mention the slow-burn romance between the two which was only enhanced by the conflicting feelings in the middle, although the quick handover between a complete no to a complete yes was a bit confusing. Especially
Aside from everything, and all the added in factors of plot, storyline, spice, the handling of the plot twists etc. I have chosen to give ALEX a rating of 4.5. This book had me on literal ends of my seat and once I picked it up I could not put it down! It was everything and more and I'd truly recommend reading it!
Rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🥵 I'm beyond honored and thankful to Jessica for letting me be part of Kate ARC team and this new book journey of hers. I don't even know what I was expecting when I started Jessica Lou's Kate, but I wasn't expecting to be hooked. The chemistry between Leo and Kate hade me not wanting to put the book down, even when I had a test 🌚🌚. The fight, angst, sex , oh my gosh, the book was so fucking amazing. So, if you love Alex (still by Jessica Lou and book one in the London Elite Series), forbidden romance, bodyguard x employee, billionaire heiress and smothering couple goals, you should, must, see and read Kate. Y'all join the line and wait for release day to get yours.
First I loved this book. Jessica Lou is an amazing Author who transports you into the world of The London Elite.
Kate is a beautiful member of the Elite of London and appearance is what matters or so she thought. Then she meets her chauffeur Leo and things change. Kate and Leo' has a past and although she hates him the line gets blurred.
This is a beautiful romance book and has everything you are looking for in a book. The story is captivating, it has twisted and turns and will capture the heart of the true romantic. Thank you Jessica Lou for writing this amazing story. I hope there are many more to come.
Great book 2 of The London Elite. I absolutely loved how Katherine's feelings develop for Leo throughout the book, from initial attraction, to basically PTSD, to hatred, to... well you know where it ends. Rich girl falls for her chauffeur and it is hot!! 🔥
Expect lots of scandalous shenanigans and nasty vindictive behaviour set in high society, where reputation is everything... or is it?
Kate is forced to re-evaluate her life and her priorities, but so is Leo. They are so different, but so similar.
I highly recommend this for fans of ALEX as well as new readers.
