What a fantastic second chance romance! I had a hard time putting this book down because it pulled me in so quick! I couldn’t help but read it in a day! From the moment this book started, you could feel the love between Sutton and Kat. Maybe their age, fears and insecurities played a part in their separation.

This book hijacked my emotions and took me from devastated to happy, sad, mad, and even hopeful. I always enjoy jealousy in my characters, and these two didn’t disappoint! The emotions just don’t lie. Both characters had each other questioning themselves and jealous, especially Sutton in a big way…I loved it! Their second chance was a great story I thoroughly enjoyed. I recommend this book to anyone that loves second chances, Rockstars, forced proximity, and angst! It’s a must!

DEFINITELY ONE OF MY TOP FAVORITE ROCKSTAR ROMANCE THIS YEAR 😍😍😍

I'm freaking Swooning and feeling amazing and all over the place after reading this gorgeous read with Sutton and Kat. Mind you they definitely didn't make it easy for me to get there though.

I'd really suggest to read the prequel, Bad Beat before reading this one as it's like the prefect appetizer before starting this deliciousness. I suppose it's still free so you can grab it for nothing.

I read that prequel and got all fired up for this book and it was worth every second, every word, every chapter.

Sutton and Kat have always been together, been there for each other. Kat always believed in Sutton making big someday. Only she's didn't anticipate that, that something big would also break them apart.

It's been five years now and even though Sutton has made it big now, he's a very different person to what he was before. When unknowingly an opportunity brings Sutton back to the town of his past, he's both wanting to come yet not wanting to face the hurts of his past.

Kat has made a life for herself doing her best to leave the demons of her past behind. She has a great job at the casino and is best at what she does.

She's competitive when it comes to maintain her client list, as her friend and colleague can attest to. Yet when she's assigned by her boss to a client that's huge, she doesn't want him as he's none other than Sutton Cole, the man who broke her heart.

AHH... I was so excited and with bated breath waiting when they first see each other after years. I was having nervous butterflies throughout as how could ever these two get back.

I loved Mac who's like a true friend would be to Sutton. Always there for him not only as his manager slash bodyguard but primarily as his friend. Also, I can't wait to find out what's cooking between Mac and Kat's don't do relationships friend, Liz. As Mac is always has eyes for her.

This one had me so immersed with the feels and on every turn of the page as Sutton and Kat kept me guessing and wanting to know what would happen next. What would Sutton do next.

The angst, the emotions, the push and pull and all the freaking feels took me on an amazing journey where I just couldn't have enough of this spicy, yummy treat. Ahhh.. I just didn't want this book to end. Loved loved loved this one.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Second chance at love. Loved it!

Sutton left Kat 5 years ago for his dream at making it big. Now he's a huge rock star and heading back to Las Vegas for a concert. His best friend and Manager set it up. He was also told Kat will be in charge of his care at the hotel Sapphire. He fights it but finally agrees.

Kat hates that she was put in charge of Sutton as he comes to the Sapphire. He gave her a choice between coming with him on tour or staying to care for her dying mother. Now he's forced her to work with him.

Can these two work together and come to forgive the past? Sutton has to work through his issues with his abusive father. Can Kat help him?

Loved this story. I also loved the characters Mac and Liz! There's a story there!!

They really needed a do over just to fix what was messed up. He knew he had messed up big time when she called him by his last name. He was wrong but more than made up for things gone wrong. Being honest with yourself first is the first step to moving forward. Glad both of them learned that lesson. It was obvious to everyone else.

My thoughts ~ It was a great second chance romance. I thought it was a heartfelt teenage love story turned adult. It deals with the heavy topics such a cancer and mental and physical abuse, check trigger warnings but I felt it was handled is a good way. I really loved Suttons attitude toward Kat I mean it was full of banter, there was so much emotion in there situation and between each other. It was much needed to get there love story across the right way ❤️ I'm not sure if there is a book but there definitely should be a book with mac and Liz because can't no one tell me there isn't something there. As much as I loveddd the story between Sutton and Kat I so wished something would have happened between them 😍🤌

Saying this book is binge worthy is an understatement!!
I didn’t just read it in one day, I read it in one sitting. It has so many of my favourite tropes including; second chance romance, forced proximity and an overprotective male lead. This story begins with Kat and Sutton together as each others first loves - whilst also dealing with their own individually complicated lives. We then have a five year time jump to their separate lives, Sutton being a world famous rockstar and Kat living a much simpler life working in a hotel. Their paths cross again when Sutton’s manager intervenes and brings them back into each others lives!!!
It’s said in the “About the Author” section at the end of the book that “her heros are sweet and sexy” and whilst i agree that the hero of this story is definitely the sweet but sexy type, there’s layers to him that you have to dive through before you can learn to love him. Though this was frustrating whilst reading I found that it payed off in the end

The only reason this isn’t a 5 stars is due to the frustration I felt whilst reading some of the male lead’s actions.

Kat and Sutton may be getting a second chance for love. Sutton Cole had left Kat Keller five years ago so he could follow his dreams of becoming a rock star. She didn’t feel she could go with him with her mother dying, so she stayed behind. He swore he would never return.

Both of them now have successful careers. When he returns, he ends up being her client at the casino to perform a show. Do they want to try to understand what happened to their love and accept the past? Will they try to reconnect in a lasting relationship this time? Or does he still intend to leave Vegas as soon as his contract is finished?

Sutton and Kat, first love, and first heartbreak when Sutton wants to chase his dreams. But Kat can’t join him because of her mother.
Now, five years later, they meet again, at their hometown, and those old feelings are still there. But a lot has happened over the years, and Kat doesn’t know if she can trust him when he says he won’t make the same mistake again.
I was so happy to meet these characters when they were teenagers, and when they were experiencing their first love. And then we get that devastatingly heartbreak. I felt so hard for Kat at that moment, there may have been some tears.
And then he has to prove himself to her, to make her see that he still loves her, and she still loves him.
I recommend this book if you’re in need of a lazy afternoon with a good book.

I received this as an arc and it was a good read, I read through it in one sitting because I wanted to know how it was going to end. It's the first rockstar type book I've read but the story was like most, the guy trying to win back the girl. He could've been better about it, I don't like the whole "I was a kid" excuse because it's typical and his attitude wasn't the best through it but she fought for them both and who doesn't love a happy ending? I do recommend because it's a cute story. I also did enjoy the spice that was throughout it.

Sutton Cole broke Kat's heart and his own when he walked away to follow his music dreams. Now he's back in town and Kat is forced to host him at his hotel. At the same time, he is confident enough to kiss her at first sight yet broken, hopeless, thinking they are over forever. He gets into jealous rages at every other male who speaks to her and unravels because of his dad.

Parts of this were a lovely tale about second chances and forgiveness but Sutton had enough self destructive impulse reactions that I thought that a good woman's love might not be enough to fix him, he needed therapy.

Wonderful second chance romance filled with angst, passion, forgiveness and a lot of begging. Lol

Sutton is a hot rock-star that has some demons from his past that’s he’s working through. He’s back in Vegas to think through his next career move and also his next personal move.

Kat loves her job and has just landed a new client that is going to be a challenge. Hurts from her past are about to come back into her life and she needs to determine if she’s strong enough to handle it.

This is a fantastic read. LM brings these characters to life and you will not want to put the book down.

Second Chance at an HEA

For Sutton and Kat, love was never the problem. They had chemistry from the moment they met and their relationship should have been strong enough to weather any storm. But when you’re young, your decisions aren’t always the best. And our choices, for better or worse, have consequences.

That’s where high school sweethearts, Sutton and Kat, find themselves in the first iteration of their relationship. One question. One answer. One decision that tore them apart.

Five years later, Kat and Sutton find themselves back together. They have been living separate lives but their chemistry is still off the charts hot. The love is still there. The question now is whether they can overcome the choices they made and find their way back to one another.

My heart broke for Sutton and his past. It broke more for Kat and what she had to endure. This is a second chance romance that deals with making amends, making better choices, and making sure that an HEA is the only outcome.

This story was emotional and steamy. It made me so angry with Sutton and so sad for Kat. I wanted a bit more grovel from Sutton but that’s just me. I’m thoroughly invested in this series and hope we get Mac and Callum’s books too.

Kat and Sutton young and in love. Kat encouraged Sutton to go for his dreams when he let doubt get to him from his abusive dad. When that dream is ready to happen for him with his music it’s a bad time for Kat with her mother fighting cancer. She tells him to go and she will follow him when she can. Instead with his background of loss when his mom walked out and his dad started drinking all he hears from her is the word no. Not that she will come join him as soon as she can. He demands she choose how do you do that when your mom is going to die. So when he comes back five years later to perform st the Casio she works at she doesn’t fall into his arms. Why Doyle she when he wasn’t even there for her when her mom finally did die 6 months after he left her. There are other factor of those wanting to keep them apart also. I wanted to shake him towards the end blowing it up again. I received an arc copy for a honest review.

No way it’s an easy decision especially when there is one major factor left out. And remember these huge decisions are on 18 year olds.

Did he make the right choice? We’ll for that you’ll have to read this very emotional book. Sad - happy - aggregating - strangling - pi$$ed off - revenge

The story was great and yes I wanted to strangle two people sooo many times. We’ll one I wanted to strangle the other I wanted to beat the crap out of. (One NOT a main character).

This is a new author to me, and I will certainly be keeping an eye out for her work in the future. Sutton broke Kat’s heart when he left to follow his dreams in music, and now 5-years later he is back in town for a brief time. Kat has tried to move on and has a great job in a casino, and it is inevitable that she and Sutton will cross paths again, and when he is her newest client, she is determined to keep things professional, and keep her distance from him. Sutton does not make things easy, but will he convince her for a second chance? This is a well written story which is filled with angst, emotions, forgiveness, trust, and love, which leads to an entertaining and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author and I recommend her work.

This second chance story was a page turner. Sutton had a rough home life and a dream of being a rock star. Kat was his support system and biggest fan. She was there cheering the loudest at his shows and there when his home life became violent. Kat was torn between following Sutton or staying and taking care of her mother which caused a riff between them. When they are thrown together 5 years later, Kat has to come to terms with both her anger and her love for Sutton. A second chance story full of misunderstanding, jealousy, and people blocking the couple for their own agenda. You won't want to put this book down. I look forward to the next book in this series and hopefully see some of the secondary characters get their HEA.

Kat is a woman who lost absolutely everything but chose to rise from the ashes and make something of herself by becoming the best casino host at the Sapphire in Vegas. As she strives to beat her friendly competition for a prize promotion her world gets thrown into a tail-spin when her boss informs her that she has been requested for a very high-end client that she will attend to for a week. This high-end client just so happens to be Sutton, the very man who shattered her heart 5 years before. There is tons of laughs, angst, sassiness and anger throughout the entire book. Fantastic story.

What an emotional roller coaster Kat and Sutton were. I loved every stinking minute of it. Sutton did the worst thing possible to the love of his life and Kat had every right to be angry and hurt. Him coming back was the best thing ever! Throw in a drunk father, 2 best friends, a boy toy, and a conniving assistant and you get one heck of an emotional experience. I felt love, anger, sadness, digust, and happiness all at once. I loved this book.

This is Book 1 in the High Stakes Love Series by this author. It is a second chance romance between former high school sweethearts, Kat and Sutton. These two flawed but likeable souls and the unique plot make for an entertaining read. Once they reconnect, it is a bumpy ride with with drama and steam, humor and charm, sexual tension and chemistry on every page. An engaging page turner.
