Sweet demon babies! What a fantastic series! Okay, I was so hooked on these books that I read them all straight through and completely neglected the “real world” and writing a good reads review. So I will just write one and post it for all the books.

This series was soooooo brilliant! With a bad ass heroine, dreamy book boyfriends, a captivating plot and sizzling hot RH, it checked all the boxes and more! Lately, I’ve been having a hard time getting into book series. By the second or third, I just lose interest but these books sucked me in completely. Thanks to the phenomenal Cate Corvin for weaving your magic and sharing your talent with us mere mortals!

About halfway through I was wondering how this series was so long, and how the author would make it so.

Well, I found out; and I was not disappointed.

Melisandre, an angel who was forced to fall, lands her ass in Hell. In Beliail's circle to be exact. Her adventures begin in his arena, where she meets Tascius, a stoic Nephilim who is missing his wings.

As she progresses through her new life here, she uncovers things that point to not everything in Heaven AND Hell being that straightforward. And once Satan himself takes an interest in her...forgetaboutit.

So, this is about where I thought it would end right? Defeat the big bad, she lives with her mates happily every after. EXCEPT THERE WERE ABOUT 500 MORE PAGES.
Right, I'm thinking WTH Cate?

And then the actual WTH happened. Azazel was my favorite from the moment I met him, and I loved diving into his homeland with them all. Discovering the gates and the lore of Inanna, gotta say I was thinking the story was wrapped up with a nice little bow much earlier. It was like a whole ass bonus present from then on out.

I loved how each of the characters was snarky in their own way, how Melisandre knew what they each needed from her and of course all the badassery. It was refreshing to see her need them as much as they needed her, I love strong FMC's, and she was, but she was also vulnerable at the same time.

While it wasn't "challenging" to read, other than its length. Its a well thought out and in depth story that you aren't expecting going into it.

This. series. consumed. me.

Y’all. The only way I could’ve read this book faster is if I could’ve literally inhaled it. As it stands, I got about as close to that as I could. It was utterly freaking phenomenal. The plot, the romance, the characters, the attention to detail, characters, spiiiiiiice, just EVERYTHING. I finished book five a little after midnight after binge reading the series, and boy did that last book get my blood pressure up! The big bad rivals Joffrey Baratheon and Chuck from Supernatural, who are the only other media characters I’ve loathed so passionately. One thing I’ve been even more in awe of lately is the supremely well thought out character development, especially in RH/poly romances. I can’t imagine the love and care (and probably breakdowns and nearly yanking your hair out) it takes to create so many flawlessly written characters. I adored Melisande, Belial, Azazel, Lucifer, Tascius, Vyra, Haru, Michael, and the other Princes. I truly can’t say enough great things about this series, but I can guarantee you it will NOT be the last I read of Cate Corvin.

A breath of fresh air

That was brilliant and unexpected. I was beginning to think there was a paranormal RH template. Every time I thought I knew what was coming I was wrong and very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this series so much it has so much depth and the character and world building is amazing . This is a must read its a refreshing break from the same old patterns. I can not wait to see what comes next .

I didn’t expect to like this series so much, but there it is, I really did. Usually I’m not too interested in the whole Angel thing, but this one was right up my alley. I really enjoyed every single book and I liked the characters.
