When the well-known and popular dating site Valina Fawn was hacked, and a list of its members leaked online, a lot of people got into a lot of trouble. Men whose wives had no idea of their adulterous ways, wives whose men were surprised at their popularity with the other sex. And as luck would have it, the three men in our family were also on that fateful—or faithless—list, causing Odelia, Marge and Charlene to call an urgent family meeting.
So when Valina Fawn herself, after whom the site had been named, was found murdered, it’s safe to say there was no lack of possible suspects. Was it a jilted wife? A cheating husband? A frustrated investor? Fortunately they could always call 911, where they would be greeted by the sultry tones of Gran or Scarlett, who’d both been engaged as the new dispatchers. Though their peculiar ideas on how to fill the role soon caused tongues to wag.
And then there was Harriet, who, after accidentally swiping right on Pettr, the popular dating site for pets, was being pursued by a sparrow, of all species. Brutus wasn’t happy about it, feeling the sting even more when the sparrow turned out to be no mean serenader.
Nic has a background in political science and before being struck by the writing bug worked odd jobs around the world (including but not limited to massage therapist in Mexico, gardener in Italy, restaurant manager in India, and Berlitz teacher in Belgium).
When he’s not writing he enjoys curling up with a good (comic) book, watching British crime dramas, French comedies or Nancy Meyers movies, sampling pastry (apple cake!), pasta and chocolate (preferably the dark variety), twisting himself into a pretzel doing morning yoga, going for a run, and spoiling his big red tomcat Tommy.
He lives with his wife (and aforementioned cat) in a small village smack dab in the middle of absolutely nowhere and is probably writing his next ‘Mysteries of Max’ book right now.
I laughed so hard at some of the parts in the book!! I don't think I'll ever forget the "hairy ass " dialog. Now that was a stroke of pure genius! I have a great imagination and I could picture Max and Dooley discussing this. I laughed so hard I had to put the book down for a few minutes. There we're just so many scenes in the book that were really funny! I guess that's why Dooley is my favorite and this series is my favorite feline detective series!!!! I would definitely love to see them do a sort of haunted house type mystery. Max and Dooley would be hilarious!! Anyway, love this series!!
This is the second time that Nic Saint mentions bullying as a topic of one of his stories. I know that this is fiction and for the most part his stories don't delve too far into any of his topics, but it's sad that more consequences aren't mentioned. I'm not sorry that Valina is dead. She got what she deserved. I hope that Emma does get off with a suspended sentence even if she did confess. There were extenuating circumstances. I can't believe how gullible men can be. First her boyfriend and then her husband. I don't feel sorry at all for the murders. Very naughty of me.

A dating site leads to murder. It also leads to a lot of angry people. It takes a lot of questioning to try to solve the case. Thankfully Max figures it out.
The spots of humor really make this story, like previous ones, fun to read. I find myself laughing out loud! Enjoy yet another fascinating story!
Max and friends have a lot to decipher in this book. It seems as if the suspects keep coming after the dating site is hacked and then one of the owners is murdered. Many of the residents of Hampton Cove are suspects, even the Mayor.
I love all these books, they capture the true essence of cats snd their relationship with humans. And I also get quite a few chuckles when the cats chat amongst themselves.
Dating sites leads to two murders and a clash between Brutus and Harriet. When married couples find out their partner is on a dating site all he'll breaks out in Hampton Cove
This was another enjoyable murder mystery for the gang. Gran's time as a police dispatcher was hilarious. Hampton Cove is certainly an interesting place to live (or die).
I love all the characters in this series. I've said in a previous book review that I'm especially fond of Dooley. The plots are sweet cozy plots with a murder that is usually solved by Max. I'm hoping that Leslie's baby is a girl who can talk cat.
They get better and better. Jack sparrow lol dating sites for cats and max and dooley oh my ii can just imagine max snoozing and dooley "max" and asking another 101 questions lol
Max stories are always good but I didn’t feel this one was quite as good as some of the others. Not to sure why except it didn’t keep me suspense as the others have. Sorry
