They live in wine country California with their three offspring who have crazy creative genius oozing out of them in the form of music, art, performance, and all the things, and too many cats who all think they rule the world (spoiler alert: they do).
A great expansion on the Inferna cast, with a few new members
I thoroughly enjoyed the first set in the series, and the first book in this set are great, but the writing style changes drastically with the introduction of Iris, which is a bit off-putting. I loved the characters, just didn't care for the writing style (almost like a noir/Dick Tracey style, which really isn't my thing) in those stories. It seemed to switch back to the original style towards the end, so maybe the authors switched out on who wrote what story, I don't know. Overall, I really enjoyed the stories, and will likely get the stand alone novels that go with the series, as well.
I quickly started this set of books after the first set and was even more disappointed, if that’s possible.
Once again, the general world building was under developed, I couldn’t keep plot points of all characters straight, and there was too much going on outside of the main plot.
The writing style changed in this book somewhere from somewhat lucid to what seemed like the ramblings of a teenager girl.
I didn’t even finish reading all of them. I couldn’t stand it.
