♥ Can a little Christmas magic transform a one-night stand into forever for a soldier and a curvy girl? ♥

MARCUS BISHOP

After months of active duty in the dry, sandy desert, I'm home for Christmas.

Honestly, this time around, I’m grateful to be home at all.

One night in a bar blowing off steam leads me straight into the arms of a curvy beauty.

Her sweetness is exactly what I need in my life.

I want forever, but she only wants one night.

I'll do anything to change her mind.

KAYLEE WILDE

My good-for-nothing brother just skipped town, leaving me to spend Christmas alone with his debts.

If that's not bad enough, I also just got fired for something I didn't do.

Frustrated and heartbroken, I head downtown to drown my sorrows. Alone.

I expect to wake up with a hangover, not with a hot soldier in my bed.

He wants more than one night together and won’t take no for an answer.

But how do I trust a stranger with my heart, when I can't even trust the people closest to me?

Steamy, sweet, safe, short holiday romance, no OM/OW drama, no triggers, HEA guaranteed.

This was such a sweet read. Kaylee was very endearing. She just couldn’t seem to get anything to go her way until she meets Marcus. Her brother is a mess and she just lost her job so she looks to have a night to herself. That’s when she meets Marcus, who is home on leave for Christmas.

There are definite sparks between the two and Marcus isn’t willing to let her go. He is just what the doctor ordered for Kaylee.

While this was short and some issues are slightly glossed over, this was a sweet read with a sprinkle of spice thrown in. A good afternoon holiday afternoon read.

"Kaylee, you’re going to be just fine. There’s nothing that can hurt you when I’m with you.”

Okay, why is this guys last name Bishop when there is already a book in this series called Bishop and that's THAT man's last name? I don't know why it bothers me but it does lol. I feel like it was bad planning.

I thought this was a pretty good read. I don't think the blurb was super descriptive of the story though. It did intrigue me and I want to read about the other Bishop brothers so I'll probably scour the author's other books to look for their stories.

Kaylee is not doing so well in the game of life lately everything that could go wrong is going wrong. Her brother has made a real mess of his life and instead of dealing with it he walks away leaving her to deal with it all she's lost her job so she decides to head to the bar for a drink. She meets Marcus and his brother at the bar and they're immediately attracted to each other and Marcus believes she's the reason that he came home on leave early and Marcus knows right away that Kaylee is the one for him. Now can he convince her of that? You really need to read this wonderful insta-love Christmas story. I would definitely recommend reading this steamy Christmas story.

Kaylee and Ram . . .

Kaylee Wilde sees everything going wrong around her. Her brother is irresponsible and walks out leaving her to deal with the mess he has made of his life. Kaylee lost her job, so she heads for a bar. (I don’t see how that will help her issues, but it puts her where she needs to be for a Christmas miracle.)

Marcus Bishop (“Ram”) is home on leave for the Christmas season. For Marcus, the awareness that Kaylee is The One happens immediately. In fact, both are feeling the attraction. Can he convince her that she can trust him with her heart? Will she accept the possibility that the HEA is waiting for her if she just gives this man a chance?

Twinkles and Her Soldier

The Sweetest Christmas Love Story!!

I love these Bishop brothers!! Marcus is home for the holidays when he comes to the rescue of the woman of his dreams. Kaylee is left alone and almost penniless when she meets the older, sexy soldier. Love at first sight and the magic of Christmas just adds so much scrumptious steaminess to this adorable story!!

Wonderful, absolutely love this one! Short, sweet, and an easy read.

Kaylee meets Marcus and his brother Ryder at a bar, Cargo Bar. When Kaylee arrived home she was expecting her brother to be home, he wasn’t. She came home to find their house tossed and everything missing including her brother. He leaves her a note telling her he owes people money. So she heads to the bar. Ryder picks up Marcus from the airport and they talks as they head to the bar. Marcus and Ryder head inside and grab drinks at the bar then take a seat in a booth. Kaylee sits at the bar until a guy starts hitting on her. The bothers notice and set up to help her. She thanks them then they asks her to sit with them. Ryder excuses himself leaving Marcus and Kaylee alone. They talk about their family, and he senses there is something troubling her. He asks her what is wrong and she hate to unload all her problems on him. He finally convinces her and she tells him about her brother. Then about her getting fired at work. He tells her they are there to celebrate and forget about their problems. They both agree to go back to his place since her place is a mess. He shows her around his home, before they stand in the kitchen wrapping an arm around her. He turns her around and tells her to bend over. He asks her what does she want what does she want him to do. He asks her if she wants him inside her and she tells him yes. He enters her and then lifts her up onto the counter. He whispers sweet and dirty words to her. This isn’t just physical for them they can feel it in their souls, like they’ve imprinted on each other. In the morning she wakes to find him making breakfast. He tells her he loves her in his home, it’s what he wants. She wants to believe him but all she hears are words, her head is full of lies from other people. He tells her she has suffered too much. He gets Ryder to do a search for her brother. They spend days together, they head out to go on a carriage ride but find out they don’t do the rides anymore. They go ice skating instead, until someone dumps into Kaylee. On the way home his asks her to move in with him, he has a spare bedroom she can use. Marcus ask Kaylee to go with him to Wyoming to his brother’s Caden’s wedding on Christmas Eve. They both head to her old apartment to gather all her belongs. When she steps inside she finds her brother beaten, bloody in the corner. He tells her to call 911 and to start packing, he’ll look after her brother. They stay at the hospital until they know her brother is alright. When they pull into his driveway he tells her he loves her, and will stand by her no matter what. After a few day her brother’s doctors assure her he’s healing and will recover. Marcus had a private talk with him and he’ll be in the hospital for a few months. They head to Marcus’s brother Caden’s wedding in Wyoming. Everyone is welcoming to Kaylee and she is emotional. After the wedding Marcus has her jump on his back and they head to their room. He places her on the bed and knees in front of her. He places a small box in her palm and tells her she is the best thing that’s happened to him. He never wants to be apart from her, growing old together, having children with her. He tells her he hasn’t had time to shop for a ring, in the box is a pair of silver star shaped earrings that match her necklace. Her parents had given her the necklace when she turned sixteen. She tells him yes a thousand times yes she’ll marry him. They head to New York City for Sergeant Jones’s wedding. He asks her if she’ll go to Paris with him so they can get married. She tells him she wants to go with him when he re-enlist and live on base. He already made plans her brother is moving into his spare bedroom and getting back on track with his life. Marcus asked her brother for his blessing for them to get married and he agreed to let them marry. She tells him that’s the best Christmas present ever.

5 ⭐'s!

I just loved this story! Binge reading the Bishop brothers book by author Fern Fraser, and I gotta admit, I don't know what took me so long to realise it, because I've read her before, usually when it's her term in one of these multi author themed series, but I finding I love her writing style and wondering why I've yet to put her up there in my handful ( top 5 or so) favourite authors in this genre!... ( the shorter length books in adult romance / there's one word that can be used to describe this category in entertainment, whether it's reading a book watching a movie, and you feel like you just want to be entertained, nothing heavy, it's an " escape " from real life, where you can jump into the material and forget stress, and he thoroughly entertained, it's a plus when you find artist's( in this case writers ) who can give you these lighter feel good works while also not being complete fluff , because sometimes when you want to find out reality, the lighter fluff we get has to suffice, and yea, those are ok..... But , and here's my point with this intro rant, there are those few that rise above the rest, that handful I mentioned, that have the skill that isn't something as a reader you can pinpoint specifically when describing, except to say they can some how deliver the goods, and although it's a limited page count that makes it more than a challenge, but they're still able to pack into their story's some substance, so we get light feel good, with as sense of depth- that's a bit vague but the best way I can think to put it,, the thing that has some authors rising above the rest just a bit, because like I said there really is only so much you can do in less than 100 pages of story...)

BUT FOCUSING ON THIS STORY; I really just loved Marcus/Ram and Kaylee! I honestly smiled throughout their whole story practically from the page they meet and every song one after till the end of their book. There's just something about them that's both steadfast ( with Marcus and his unwavering commitment that he pretty much makes known from 12 hours into their " relationship " , and even with Kaykee, you still love her ,, and it's not annoying like some characters come off when they are hesitant to be in the same page, with her it was more organic and felt real or acceptable considering what she literally has Volunteer hours before meeting this perfect guy, also in think because while she is outwardly hesitant , it's clear through her inner thoughts and also what she seems to be able to share through her special connection her and Marcus have , she DOES feel the same way, but given the life let downs she freshly going through, it's gonna take a bit for her to say them with the conviction they deserve and trust it's not going to be taken away a week in...
Ok sorry if that was long winded, like I said I'm bringing fern Fraser bishop Fam books right now this is book 4 in a row in ones afternoon/ evening that I've devoured..😏😏

Kaylee is having a bad, after she was let go from her job for something she didn't do. She's already having a bad day when she walks into her house it only gets worse. Everything she owned is gone, even her brother. He did leave her a note to explain what happened. After reading the note, she leaves to go get a much needed drink.
While at the bar just minding her own business a big burly guy approached her and she's trying to get him to leave. His guy is not listening to her when two guys approach the guy to leave her alone. The two guys asked if she'd like to join them. Kaylee does and is liking the company when the one guy leaves, she is there with Marcus. She finds out why his brother called him Ram. They talk and finally she opens up to Marcus about what happened with her job, her home and her brother.
Marcus had a palm reader give him a reading while he was per in Afghanistan. He dreamt about a woman but could never see her face but he knew what she would look like. When he saw her at the bar he just knew they were meant to be together. After his brother left, things were going so good that he invited her back to his place.
Once there things got hot and heavy. That was the start of a great beginning. Marcus invited her to his brothers wedding in Wyoming. She met the whole family. She fell in love with them just like she was falling in love with Marcus.
Marcus had another wedding to go to, this one was in New York. This time he is going with his fiancee instead of girlfriend. They got engaged at his brother's wedding. After this wedding he suggest they go to Paris and get married there since his brother Ryker will be there for a job. This way they can see him and he could be a witness. Kaylee is excited to be or go anywhere Marcus is!

Ram finds his Twinkles

Codename Ram by Fern Fraser is part of the multi-author Soldiers for Christmas story. This story is about Kaylee Wilde and Marcus "Ram" Bishop. Kaylee is having a very, very, very bad day and just wants to drink to forget and be left alone. But when a man in the bar decides he wants to have her she is rescued by two tall, handsome and sexy men. Marcus has just arrived home and is picked up by one of his brothers. He is close to forty and knows he is a career soldier. But the thing is that he has not found anyone special to share his life with and he is missing it. After getting changed at home his brother takes Marcus to a bar downtown for a few drinks and to catch up. When a young woman walks in he notices her but it is not until a bit later, when he sees a big man grabbing her that he and his brother intervene. From there Marcus and Kaylee start on a journey which starts with one night and ends with a lifetime.

This story was a wild ride with a lot of drama mixed into the romance and smexy passion. I enjoyed the story but felt there were some unanswered issues by the end. The characters are likeable and the chemistry is sizzling. But the book could use a visit to a good proofreader as there were a number of errors which included detail inconsistencies, which irritate me. But otherwise this was a good read.

Kaylee has had a “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day”. She gets fired from her job. She returns home and finds her apartment has been ransacked and everything stolen and a letter from her brother has cleared out and in hiding from the loan sharks. Kaylee takes off to drown her sorrows. She stops at bar that she thinks will allow her to do that. Only to get hassled by a couple of guys. Marcus has just returned from overseas and has stopped in for food and drink with his brother. For along time he has been having a dream about a long haired woman who he saves from danger. He sees Kaylee and she is the woman in his dream. He gets up so he can protect her from the hasslers. Marcus has strong feelings for Kaylee instantly and he will protect her. Once Marcus hears her story he knows he will keep her safe. Can he keep her out of danger? Will Marcus be able to show her his love? This is an entertaining, danger laced, passionate, hot, steamy story with flawed characters who are so likable/lovable. It’s an enjoyable read!

This book is a part of the Soldiers for Christmas series and focuses on Marcus and Kaylee. Kaylee is at the end of her rope after losing her job and having her brother dip out on her after leaving their shared home ransacked and completely destroyed. She decides that she needs some space from her place and heads to a bar. Marcus is back home after a year away on a deployment that left him yearning for more in life. When he meets Kaylee in the bar, he finally knows what he has been missing in his life. Marcus is all in right away but it takes Kaylee a couple of days to fully come around because she has become so used to being taken advantage of and let down. I loved how supportive and protective Marcus was of Kaylee and how he loved her so fiercely. He didn’t let her fears and doubts get in their way and just loved her through everything life threw at her. Such a great addition to the series and to the Bishop brothers! I can’t wait to see what else is to come.

Kaylee is having a very bad day, she has been fired from her job and her brother skipped town with her money and stole some of her stuff. She goes to the bar to have a drink as she does not want to stay in the house.

Marcus has just come home from deployment overseas, his brother picks him up at the airport and they hit a local bar, when he sees her sitting at the bar. When a guy comes over to accost her, he and his brother intercede. They talk her into joining them, when his brother leaves he stays behind with her. When he sees her pendant, he realizes she is the girl from his dreams. He just needs to convince her.

I love these Bishop boys, but Marcus is my favorite so far. He is just what Kaylee needs, he does not really give her much of a chance to say no.

Not the best story in the series

This is a instalove novella with a side of controlling alpha. Marcus/Ram is in the military returning after a year long deployment. He received a fortune reading while overseas about meeting his soulmate. Kaylee is having the worst day - fired from her job due to a backstabbing coworker and her brother stole her money and her household goods. Ram and Kaylee end up in the same bar and when Kaylee is bothered by a man, Ram comes to her rescue and recognizes her from his fortune reading. Unfortunately, despite a good premise and a good beginning to the story, for me, it fell completely apart after that. The characters were not well developed, there were continuity issues with the storyline, and the conversations were very stilted the majority of the time.

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Kaylee needs a drink after the way her life seems to be tanking. She meets Marcus and his brother at the bar and they have an immediate attraction. Marcus believes that she is what he came home for. He has dreamed of someone to protect, care for and love. Kaylee is a little more leary based on her run of bad luck. He sets out to prove how good they are together and she cannot help but follow her heart and trust in him. Sweet love story with two people who find each other right when they question where their lives are going. There are plenty of family and friends but also passion and love

Another great love story in the series

I enjoyed reading the love between Marcus and Kaylee. Marcus is returning home from military service but maybe continuing it. Kaylee is so stressed and feeling displaced since she was fired for something she didn't do along with her brother clearing out their apartment to pay gambling debts. He has a drinking and gambling problem. She needed to go out an drink away her sorrows. She meets Marcus in the bar she want to and the rest is history. He fell in love when he saw her. It took her a little longer. You'll find some old friends mentioned within the book. Attend two weddings. Working with her brother to get help. There's so much more. I enjoyed reading this book and hope you will as well. Written by Cindy :)

Standalone, interconnected with other books by same author as well as a series written by different authors about the same unit

*over 18 readers only*
Trigger warnings
Death of parents, one by cancer
Gambling addiction

She comes home after losing her job to find that her brother has run off, leaving her in a bad spot. She decides going to the bar is the best course of action, just for tonight. He is freshly home from a 12 month deployment, going to the bar with his brother.

This series follows the Bishop Brothers. Book 6 is all the previous books in one place. This particular book is in two different series of short stories. The other series is Codename: [different names] , a series about soldiers gone for the holidays, and invited to the same wedding.

I loved reading about another Bishop brother and how he falls fast for some one he meets. This book is about Marcus(Ram) and Kaylee who meet one night at a bar. Both are there to relax and get past what happened during the day. Kaylee is having to deal with a coworker who somehow is key in her being fired and her brother who has gotten himself into trouble. Marcus has just returned from overseas where he has been deployed for some time. He is trying to figure out what is next for him and whether he wants to continue his military career. The two feel the sparks between them immediately. After spending the night together Marcus knows Kaylee is the one. Kaylee is a little hesitant at first but soon the two are falling in love and going to the wedding of Marcus's brother. This story was entertaining with a great HEA.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review. If you're looking for a sweet, steamy insta-love story that is short and easy to read but still packs enough heat and heart-warming feeling with a simple, low angst plot, then grab this book!

Marcus is such a sweet, protective and alpha dominant guy and he's just great with Kaylee who's going through a rough time and feels like she's at the end of her rope. I would have preferred a slightly longer story so we can see their relationship progress further and to see Kaylee's character be stronger. But overall it was an enjoyable, quick, bed-time read.

Love how this story follows the soldiers in this series BUT also has characters from Fern's other books.

This is Marcus' story and he's Caden's brother in the story "Christmas Kisses".

Kaylee is having a bad day and she goes to a bar to reflect and warm up.
Marcus is home from a tour and walks into a bar with his brother Ryder.
When they see Kaylee being harassed by another bar patron, all bets are off.
Marcus has kindness for Kaylee and they take the time to get to know each other.
But does Kaylee's past have the ability to rob them of their future?

Super great story from a good author!

Kaylee has had a rough day, losing her job over something she didn’t do and then arriving home to find her brother had skipped town because of money he owed. Marcus is home for Christmas and has had the overwhelming feeling of wanting more and that his life is about to change. It’s love at first sight when she meets Marcus and his brother at a bar. It’s unexplainable to both of them but feels so right. This was an a sweet read. Kaylee and Marcus are perfect for each other and have lots of chemistry that sizzles throughout the book. The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Ram/Marcus and Kaylee and does not let go. When Ram returns to the States from military service overseas, he just knows that something is missing in his life. Kaylee has had the worst day ever and goes into a bar, hoping to be left alone so she can pretend, for a little while, that today never happened. A chance meeting between the two is enough to change both of their lives.

Fern Fraser is one of my most favorite authors! She has a gift with words. Her ability to weave a sexy, sweet picture Marcus and Kaylee's story is second to none. They were so perfect for each other. Their chemistry sizzled and sparked right off the pages. Marcus' honesty, protectiveness and dedication is every girls' dream. I particularly love how each of Ms. Fraser's books stand alone, yet if you've read several (or many, like me) there are recurring characters from her other stories that give it more depth and make it even more enjoyable. This was a fantastic insta-love Christmas story.

Dreams come true!
I loved that Marcus had been dreaming of her, he knew when he met Kaylee she was the woman of his dreams and that was it, he was done!
I really enjoyed that Ram and Kaylee (Twinkles) got to be guests at Caden And Tamira's wedding from Christmas Kisses (brothers) and join them on Christmas eve, under the stars, while they said their vows. Kaylee catching the bouquet was a nice touch.
This was a short novella, based around Christmas time with a little bit of drama and a whole lot of falling in love. Enjoyable and easy to read.
