Ridge My biggest regret is leaving the love of my life when I joined. She expected me to come home, start a family, and live happily ever after, but how could I hold her back, leave her waiting while I served our country? So, I did what I thought was best and broke her heart. Now I'm back and Paislee isn't the only girl waiting for me. I have a daughter as well, and Paislee's moved on to someone new. But there's no way I'm willing to lose her twice.
Paislee My heart may never heal from that letter, it shattered my hopes and dreams. My daughter gave me something new to live for, but going alone has been hard, and every day I hate Kal Ridgeway a little more. It took years to put my fractured heart back together and move on. I found a man who wants to marry me, but he's not Kal and can never really have me fully. But Kal crashes back into my life wanting more than to see his daughter, he wants me, a family, everything he left behind, and I'm not sure I can forgive him.
This is probably the low point of the series for me so far. It wasn't poorly written and if you like second chance romances then you might like this one. I'm not really a fan, even when I give them an honest try. I just don't feel like they love each other enough.
WOW! I love Kal(Ridge)and Paislee, they're just soo perfect for each other! Such a sweet, steamy and beautiful love story! I absolutly loved it soo much!😍🔥🔥❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🥰
This was a beautiful touching love story. A young man (Kal) joins the service with the understanding with his girlfriend (Paisley) they could make the separation work. He had thoughts about him holding her back from singing or having a career. He wrote her a letter telling her not to wait for him. So he's been gone for several years and gets her upcoming wedding announcement. No way, no one could love her like he loves her. So he goes home to stop the wedding. Paisley had other ideas. She wanted nothing to do with him plus he didn't know about his daughter. Read what happens when they meet again. It's a very touching story told from both sides. Paisley and Hailey (his daughter) missing him. His reaction when they meet. It's really good. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)
Paisley was a doormat to both Kal and her “fiancée.” Kal dumps her via a Dear Jane letter and she gets engaged after a few years. She catches her fiancée cheating and honestly doesn’t do much about it, and then deserter-Kal pounces and once again takes advantage of her weakness. There’s no groveling or apologizing for dumping her and boinking someone else (and peeps, she never slept with a man after Kal ran like a sissy), and yet the author had her welcome Quitter-Kal with open arms?!?!? NO! Nooo. Uh uh. No way. Heck-to-the-no!
Way to send women back 100 years, Allie York.
Also, there are some editing issues, but the actual reason this story gets a two star rating is laid out above.

Trigger warnings Secret baby Cheating (on not by mfc)
They were high school sweethearts. He made promises, enlisted, broke her heart. She stayed in their hometown, had his baby, and no one told him. He's home to stop her wedding. She doesn't want him, but never really got over him either. Waking in on her fiance cheating on her means there's no wedding to stop. But will she give her baby's daddy a chance?
Each book in this series mentions the same wedding. Each book is fast-paced and easy to read. Some will have triggers.
This is a great second chance romance. I really do not like when secrets are kept…big secrets…that can impact not only the secret itself but all the people orbiting the secret. I did appreciate how the author had one of the characters take ownership of that and didn’t gloss over the lingering pain. Good short read with a sweet HEA.
I enjoyed reading this story. There were so many feels going on in this story. The heartbreak was palpable, on both sides. But love is love, and what one does for loves, is not always easy, and the road back is never paved smooth. I enjoyed the honesty, and the commitment the second time around. I liked their perfect for them epilogue.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I didn’t understand the female character. Her personality and character development was off. I thought he was well written but she was all over the place! I generally like this author and I will continue to reading these books, but this one wasn’t my favorite
PAISLEE & Kal & hailey story was short and sweet and filled with unexpected twists and turns. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the collection.
Another fantastic Christmas story in the series. I absolutely loved it. Allie York is a newish author for me. I will definitely be searching out for more books from her in the future. A very happily ever after.
