For fans of After, The Devil’s Night Series and Den of Vipers comes a dark and steamy story of a ballerina and a fighter…
It was dangerous, it was violent and I was obsessed. There was a part of me that loved raw violence. Maybe it craved something darker and grittier so I could escape my boring life.
Ballerina Aspen’s life is far from perfect. With her alcoholic mother, absent father and drug dealing brother, she’s falling apart at the seams and is desperately trying to prove herself amongst her fellow dancers.
When she bails her brother out of jail one night, she meets Tyler; a bad boy fighter covered in tattoos and scars with a cocky smile.
He screams danger and Aspen can’t seem to stay away. But Tyler has his own demons and she finds herself sucked into a world very different to her ballerina lifestyle.
The question is, can she survive there or will she lose everything she ever loved?
Contemporary romance writer Violet E.C, began her writing journey with fanfiction when she was only 13. After hundreds of thousands of readers on her stories, she decided to take the leap into publishing over a decade later.
This is a fast paced semi-dark romance about Aspen, a ballerina and Tyler, an underground fighter.
It was insta love when she walked into the local jail to bail out her drug dealing brother and locked eyes with Tyler from across the room.
I really wish I could have given it a 4 stars at the least, but I was just so annoyed with Veronica (Aspen’s enemy at her ballet classes) because she would just be doing petty things to Aspen. I just don’t understand what the point was, they were 20 years old and their “rivalry” just seemed immature. Also was super bothered by Aspen’s mom. She was more concerned about Veronica then her own daughter. AND can’t forget to mention the fact that she literally told Aspen to get out of the car with a sprained ankle because she wouldn’t believe her when Veronica was the one to injured her. What the actual heck?!
The last part of the book with the Cartel just felt a little rushed and a bit unrealistic. Like the way she was fighting, and how Harley was super jealous and had a gun. I don’t know, it just felt questionable to me..
I was hooked from the cover and was not disappointed with the story. The dancing with danger was fast paced and easy to follow…a lot of intrigue and I loved the story. There were different emotions throughout it and I’d deff recommend for anyone looking for a quick, yet, captivating read. This author knows her craft, as well as her audience. Well done!
This is a good little read. I really enjoyed it. I would love to hear how Aspen and Tyler progress. A whole hot and steamy romance book would be great. Lol.
