Patty may have made it through the first cattle drive and have some coin to her name, but ranching is never what you call 'easy'.Jack Turner hasn't gotten what he wanted, and he's not the sort to give up. Meanwhile, Patty needs to figure out who her real friends are, among the rest of the ranchers, because if they don't band together, they may all be lost. It's the wild west around here, and you never know what a fella's liable to try, if he thinks he can get away with it...
I am sorry I don't write a review after each book. It's hard for me to put my thoughts into words but here go's You are one of the few great story tellers and writer's. You have a talent that is a great gift. Your stories hold your readers to not want to put the book down. THANK YOU Its nice to set down after a long and to read a good book by a great writer.
Being a rancher is tough. Being a lady rancher is more than difficult. It was almost an unknown in a land where power and strength were prized. But character makes the difference and determination made opens doors. Excellent story without gratuitous violence and sex. Intriguing challenges and persevering integrity. Enjoy!
Sequel to Lady of the West, taking place three years after Patty took over running her ranch. It's time to drive the cattle to market, but on top of dealing with ranch life, Patty has to find out who killed her ranch hand amidst her growing feud with her neighbor... Fun book.
After finishing this second book of the series, I find myself so excited for the third book. The story has never been boring. Kept me on the edge of my seat so far. Unlike some series they are somewhat predictable, but not this one. I’m now onto read the third book.
I think I liked this book even more than the first one! Maybe because of the new foals who are now three years old. Peter is growing up and she is learning more about running the ranch. Great writing!
I loved all the twists and turns. There was enough excitement that it made up for some of the things that are not realistic to a working ranch. Maybe Texas and Montana are different. All in all I’ll continue with the third book in the series.
