One lonely star.
Why am I a sucker for mafia romance? Why? It’s just become torturous lately, as I have been unable to find a well-written novel in this genre at all lately 😢. The past few have been horrible, poorly written atrocities.
If anyone can recommend a great mafia romance, I’m all ears.
This one by Sasha Leone was horrible, and I hated it. The blurb here is in no way indicative of the story here. In fact, I’d argue that the synopsis is better written than the story, and may even be describing the incorrect book. I wouldn’t be surprised if there had been a mix-up, tbh,
Save yourself, and don’t listen to the majority four and five star reviews. It’s mafia that’s shallow, light on romance, and is written in circles. The prose is such a cheese-fest, I just can’t.

This 6th book in the Brutal Reign series is the only one I've read.
The age-gap trope pulled me in.
It's okay on the whole.
This is not a really dark mafia story and he's not mean or cruel.
The h is the daughter of the man he's trying to pin down. So, he's been following her intending to use her but he falls under her spell. And now he wants her to his queen as he rules his new kingdom.
So, he kinda kidnaps (or she agrees to the kidnap), they have sex as more mafia stuff roles out.
*Big spoilers*
And I wonder why these romances (all sub-genres) like to villainize parents so much? Just to show the h as this sorry, lonely figure? I refuse to believe there are so many evil parents out there. :/

Savage Don is the sixth book in the Brutal Reign series and features Ray and Francesca. I believe it can be read as a standalone but you may get more enjoyment out of this if you've read the other books which I think I may go back and do.
Ray is going to steal young Francesca from her father and use her for his own gains. But not everything goes to plan because feelings get involved and soon Ray is fighting for Francesca's heart and trust. This was your typical smutty mafia read and while not entirely original it was enjoyable. Light BDSM and light Daddy kink with a suspenseful plot.
If you're looking for a short and dirty age-gap mafia read then definitely give this one a try.

Savage Don is the first book that I've read in the Brutal Reign series and it was brilliant. Francesca (FMC) finds herself unwittedly caught up in a plan Ray (part of the Irish Mafia) has started to weed out a rat that is giving information away on him and his bosses. What starts out as this for Ray and Francesca turns steamy the more involved they get with one another. Only for outside influences to stir up trouble for both of them. This book completely gripped me from start to finish. I'll now have to catch up on the rest of this series. Loved it

He has a plan to secure his future and that plan involved the sweet and innocent Francesca, the daughter of his suspected rat.
Ray intends to use Francesca to drawn out her father by getting her pregnant and at the same time cementing his power for good. Though he never expects to find Francesca so intriguing and alluring. Their chemistry is off the charts and even though they are unique in their own right they make the perfect pair.
I really enjoyed this book, it keeps you on your toes with all the suspect and drama and streamy hot love scenes. Its an incredible age gap, dark romance story amd is a great final novel to end the Brutal Reign series. There is also the incredible bonus epilogue that will have you begging for more :)

the mmc’s are so fucking annoying like every time they literally did ANYTHING i wanted to scream that’s how much they annoyed me. and why do they tease each other so much? i don't know how many times "he teases"/"i tease" has been mentioned.

This only gets two stars because the smut was decent. There are so many typos in it that I had to quit marking them. Did no one proof read this? It took me so long to finish it because I was struggling.

AHH. I've been in love with this entire series. Lots of Action, Steaminess and Hot drama. All in one perfect package. 😍😍
This one was no different. That ending of book 4 had me waiting for Ray's book. I was freaking nervous and excited all at the same time.
Ray has been finally given a chance to rise from the ranks as a soldier and join the reigning men. But the catch is he'll have to catch the rat and only then can he take rein of his kingdom.
Ray's being given a deadline. Fulfill the only requirement and be king or lose it all even his life if not done withing a year of what's expected of him.
This begins Ray's plan of searching for the rat amongst them and establishing his rule once and for all. The three Main Italian mafia families are under him now. But one amongst them, Ray suspects is his rat.
But without any solid proof, Ray can't go ahead and invite war amongst them. Enter Francesca, who's the daughter of one of the Don's, Domenico Galli and prime suspect.
Ray intends on using francesca as a pawn in gaining his way but never did he anticipate to be allured by the many secrets of the Mafia princess that not only Intrigue him but also makes him admire her for her strength and the desire to be independent.
Francesca might be innocent but she knows all about her father and the ways of the Mafia. All she wants is to complete her education, get a degree if she ever gets free from this life that she's born into.
Francesca and Ray, sure made a unique but perfect pair and their chemistry was fire. Perfectly igniting each other, one in her Innocence and the other in his experience wanting to own her, claim her.
AHH. There's so much going on. What with Ray running out of leads and yet to find the rat. There's action that kept me guessing what would happen next and as all books in this series, the climax chapters were intense, all action loaded and couldn't be missed at all... On fire.
Also, that bonus epilogue.. Omg... I can't wait to see the next gen of the gang we have been seeing. But Ray and Francesca, and their offspring, in that bonus epilogue has me all fired up for the gen next. I suppose you can get the bonus epilogues if you sign up for the author's newsletter and trust me, you don't want to miss them in all their Steamy and Drama filled glory. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Our resident Savage Don, Ray, didn't grow up in the best circumstances, so he works his behind off to become powerful, and he's finally about to achieve his dreams. Francesca hates her gilded cage, so she's come up with a way to sneak out & go to college so she can have some freedom someday away from her father & evil stepmother. Ray has a plan which includes getting Francesca pregnant to make her his queen, so he goes about it to the point that she ends up staying with him so her father doesn't lock her up for good after she makes a mistake. They have chemistry in spades so the kinky sexy times take place quickly, and those flames these two produced tried to make my kindle collateral damage LOL! Of course, she has to go home, so Ray tells her his plan, and Francesca definitely isn't down with all of this so she's not going to make it that easy for him. There's also that whole rat thing that Ray has to figure out in a year to keep his place on earth so the twists are coming in hot in between the sexy times. I LOVED this book hard, and I certainly LOVE LOVE LOVE the Brutal Reign series so yeah, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Francesca & Ray is a age gapafia romance and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. Francesca maybe the innocent girl in all this but she not afraid to stand up to herself. You can feel her connection to Ray straight away and their relationship just fell into place.

Ray I LOVE LOVE this back story at the beginning and how it still affects him in the future especially his love life...she made his heart cold as stone until Francesca light caught him.
You will feel the clock ticking that Ray is fighting against to protect his mafia empire that be built with the mafia king. Tense suspense that we keep you at the edge of upur seat & action is perfect again! Steamy scenes are wow 🥵 Ray I will be happy to make you scramble eggs... trust me you will want to make him eggs too 😍
The King Don is my favourite out the series now. I do love every single book and really recommend you read the previous books. I love this world so much and the layers to the mafia world are perfect

4.5 ⭐️ — I’ve been into mafia & smut lately so I picked this up after seeing it on tiktok 😂 it was good and I enjoyed it!! The spice was great🔥 and there was an actual plot to follow. Some of the nicknames Ray gave Francesca made me cringe and this was a pretty decent age gap but overall I think it was well written!!!

This is the final novel in the Brutal Reign series, and it makes me sad writing those words! Sasha Leone is one of my top 3 all-time favorite writers and even though I know she will give me 100 more series just as good; I still feel like friends that I always kept in touch with, are moving on without me. Wah, Wah, Wah!!! But I am being serious. This series has brought some incredible characters into my heart and their stories are as familiar as my own family’s tales. Scary but true…!
OK, I digress, I’ve said it before, but it is worth repeating now, there are very few authors who can tell a story with as much heart, soul, passion, and emotion (not to mention the sizzling, very, very, very hot erotic scenes peppered in between) as Ms. Leone packs into every page of her novels. There are so many well thought-out details on every page, you just know she must be putting little pieces of her own persona or experience throughout her novels. Her characters in Savage Don, Ray and Francesca, are imperfect people who have been hurt the most by the ones they have loved (Ray’s first love) or who are supposed to love you the most (Francesca’s parents [her father and stepmother]). Ray pulls himself up from abject poverty to become a Mafia don who develops an obsession with Francesca once he sets eyes upon her. Francesca has been carefully shaped into a pawn to be used by her father as he sees fit. She has been isolated and sheltered all her life by her father and his men; and is hated and tormented emotionally by her stepmother who happens to be Ray’s first love. The story kept me hopping, thinking it was headed north when Ms. Leone reversed direction abruptly to due south! This is the most risqué novel of the series, truly erotic and hot with BDSM and incredible passion between Francesca and Ray from the very beginning. It is well written, flows seamlessly from the earlier novels in the series but is definitely a standalone, like the other novels in this series. And while Savage Don is just as great a read as the other titles in this series, the real question is: did Ms. Leone save the best for last??? Judge for yourself. Read this one!!

This is the last book in the Brutal reign series from this author and I’m so sad to see this series end. This is the story of Ray and Francesca, This is an age gap mafia romance story at its best. This story has all the action, suspense, intrigue and is definitely hot and steamy. This story will have you on the edge of your seat throughout. The bonus epilogue is so amazing, you will be left wanting and needing more. This is an amazing addition to this series by this author.

Ray has a plan and that plan involves Francesca. She will be his Queen!
Ray was Brutal and he was actually honest in his plans for her. Francesca wasn't some scared little mouse, I loved her!! She had fire.🔥

I loved the suspense and was utterly intrigued.
I was sitting on the edge of my seat right until the end.

This is the sixth and final book in this fascinating series and is Ray and Francesca’s journey. Francesca may be innocent, but she is not bling to her father’s mafia ways, and she just wants to graduate and escape from life as she knows it. Ray is a soldier who is given the opportunity to move up the ranks and become one of the reigning men, on condition that he catches and exposes a “rat” amongst their ranks. Ray’s prime suspect is Francesca’s father, and he intends to use her as vengeance. The chemistry between Ray and Francesca is combustible and undeniable, and they compliment each other perfectly. This is a well written enemies / lovers’ story, which is action packed, and with emotions, suspense, danger, intrigue, passion, and love, which leads to an entertaining and thrilling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

It’s been a little bit since I’ve picked up a mafia romance (even though it’s my favorite type of romance, I’ve just been into rom-coms lately) and this has restarted my addiction. It was very hot, and I’ve fallen so hard for Ray. Francesca is an awesome heroine and is not annoying like how I find some main characters in other mafia romances. Her emotions and reactions are real and I fell for Ray along with her. This book is double POV which is great because I love knowing what both characters are thinking. Overall, amazing read and if you’re into mafia romances that have age-gaps..this is for you!

This could very well be my favorite book in this series!!
Age gap, dark romance with several different kinks explored. The heat in this book is set to a low boil. As always, some suspense and intrigue. This character development throughout the book was well done and while I anticipated some of these plot twists, Sasha still managed to surprise me. Ray and Francesca steamed up my kindle!
The bonus epilogues were equally steamy (the first one) and foreshadowing (the second one). If you enjoyed any of the first five books of this series, you don’t want to miss this one!!!

This character development throughout the book was well done and while I anticipated some of these plot twists, Sasha still managed to surprise me. Ray and Francesca steamed up my kindle!
The bonus epilogues were equally steamy (the first one) and foreshadowing (the second one). If you enjoyed any of the first five books of this series, you don’t want to miss this one!!!

Savage Don is the last of from the Brutal Reign series. And I think it's my favorite of the 6. I was so excited that we finally get Ray's story. He has always been so mysterious to me and boy does he bring it all out in the open. I enjoyed Francesca for the most part. At first I wasn't sure she had enough fight to belong with Ray but she does prove herself. A great addition to the series and I'm sad that it has come to an end.

Great read
A perfect ending to this fantastic series. Ray was a character who always interested me in past books and one I hoped would get a HEA. I love that he becomes a King in his own right and Francesca is a superb Queen. I enjoyed her being a woman who knows her own mind. Together they are pure fire.

June 28, 2022DNF’d at 41%. There was A LOT of “I tease” and “he teases,” at least once a chapter. Couldn’t get past that. And then there was a daddy kink. That weirds me out.

Savage Don by Sasha Leone is book 6 in the Brutal Reign. This is the story of Ray Byrne and Francesca Galli. I have read the previous books which did add to my enjoyment of this one. But, I do think you can make it a standalone book if you want too. Ray has worked his way up the Mafia chain and now he has his eye on getting Francesca's father. To do so he is going to use her to get to him. This book and the series has been a page turning read.
