Hunt the shadow. Guard the flame.

Noor is the new Aten of Helios, having wrenched the kingdom of the sun from her treacherous father’s hands. Citali stood with her sister against him, and rejoiced when he died at Noor’s hand… But he did not go quietly.

He poisoned the thoughts of their older sister, Zarina, who believes that Noor is not who she claims and was never supposed to be Aten. As Zarina flees the temple to determine her next step, she encounters, then attacks, Citali.

Beaten and left for dead, Citali’s cries are heard by the Wolven of Lumina. In a flurry of fur and fang, Beron rushes to her aid yet fears he arrived too late. With what would have been her dying breath, Citali whispers a secret that changes everything.

Pleading to Lumos – the god of the moon – for a way to save her, Beron is provided an answer that comes at a steep price. Citali will become Wolven. The two bonded together for a lifetime. Despite their tumultuous past, Beron helps hone her new strength and senses, a primal passion now surging through her veins. But can the two stop fighting one another and work together to hunt and destroy the darkness spreading over the sands like a plague of locusts? Or will the sands of time run out for them both?

RONE Award-winning author Casey Bond lives on a rural farm in West Virginia with her husband and their two beautiful daughters. She writes phoenixes – gloriously flawed and morally gray characters that fiercely rise from the ashes of their circumstances.

Worldbuilding is one of her favorite pastimes. She thinks thunderstorms are better than coffee and that watching a meteor shower is the closest thing to magic you might ever see. She’s a firm believer that every amazing book needs a world you want to wrap yourself in, a character you want to win, and a love you would fight for.

Casey is the author of When Wishes Bleed, Gravebriar, House of Eclipses, and Where Oceans Burn.

The sequel is much better than the first book but the storyline was odd and half of the plot came out of the blue. I also had the feeling I’ve read this plot before but with different characters/creatures. // KU

OMG, this book was so amazing!!

The characters were phenomenal and I loved getting to know Citali and how her journey turned would turn out.

The storyline was incredible. Bond was able to pull this stories off with loads of action, suspense, love, loss and many different kinds of emotions. I was so on the edge of my seat because I craved to know what would happen next!! I highly recommend this read!!

I was massively disappointed with this book. With how much I loved the previous one, I really expected this one to be off the charts amazing. And it wasn’t. I had to force myself to finish it, and that’s never a great sign. It was slow, and the first third of the book probably didn’t need to be written, nor the last twenty pages.

This book is told from the viewpoint of Citali, the bratty sister from the first book, and we learn about why she is the way she is: she has a child that her Father threatened her into obedience with. Citali’s character in the first book was interesting, but I didn’t care enough about her to want this book to be told from her viewpoint. This might be my own bias, but I don’t care for books with child-related plot lines. It’s not my jam.

Noor and Caelum (who were the leads in the first book) felt as if they were just side characters here. And Beron’s character didn’t feel the same as he had in House of Eclipses. And this whole storyline with Anubis felt like it came out of nowhere; why was this whole other god not mentioned at all in the first book? And at the climax, it seemed like there was going to be this great battle between Anubis and the other gods and their kingdoms, and….there wasn’t? Like the author talked about people from both Helios and Lumina being armed and ready to fight, and then there was no fight. There was a three page description of Citali taking care of things and that was that.

This book was utterly boring and not at all what I had expected when I finished House of Eclipses. I’m quite disappointed.

Wolves aren't really my thing and I'm not sure if it was just me being in a reading rutt but I felt like this story was more dragged out than I would have liked. I really did like Citali and Beron though

NGL I was worried that I wasn't going to like House of Wolves because it's in Citali's pov, but her character development was so nice I liked this better than the first book. I started to like Citali pretty early on in the book because I felt like I related to her in some ways. She was just as much a victim of her father as Noor was and that wasn't portrayed in the first book but was better explained in this one. I get it tied up loose ends the first book left. The introduction of Anubis without mentioning it in the first felt kinda out of the blue, but still a good plot overall.
Now, Citali and Beron, so cute! It took both of them time to accept they had feelings for each other. They each had to work on themselves before accepting and truly choosing each other which was great. Their banter was cute and Beron was supportive of Citali in helping her see she is worthy of love.

Edit: clearly I need to write reviews when I'm half asleep because that's when everything I read is fresh in my mind

I really don't know how Casey L. Bond does it. She is so amazing at world and character building. The House of Wolves was a phenomenal read that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. I really wanted to hate Citali's character but Casey makes you fall in love with her and see who she really is. I love the banter between her and Beron, the tension between the can be felt through the pages and sometimes you just want to hit Citali upside the head for some of the decisions she makes but you soon find out it's all for a bigger reason. In this sequel we still have the characters that we met and loved from House of Eclipses but also meet new ones. The story Casey L Bond creates within this sequel is a tale of such creative imagination, it's definitely one I highly recommend and one you will want to read over and over again.

Warning ⚠ there might be some small spoilers in the review.

💬 "...never to accept less than someone who sets – and keeps – your heart ablaze..."

💬 “I want the rest of my heartbeats to be yours.”

I liked this one more than the first book. I love Beron and Citali. Wish there was even more of their relationship. Slow-burn romance is my absolute favorite.
We get to know Citali better and understand her actions from the first book. I loved her character here more than Noor in the first book. She's much more complex. I have to say the same about Beron in comparison to Caelum.

The book itself is a bit longer than necessary. Many parts could be shorter or cut out especially the last 20 or so pages. Anubis and Egypt mythology was very much to my liking and a refreshing concept. But again I have a problem with anticlimactic villain confrontation. I expected more fighting and drama.

I loved the wolf group. They were amazing side characters. I think the book could go without Citali being a wolf part of the pack tho. I didn't like mixing Egypt mythology with shape-shifting wolves.

In conclusion, it was a good duology worth reading, with refreshing concepts, and great characters. Recommend.

I somehow enjoyed this book more than book 1. I didn’t think that was possible, but this book was closer to my heart. My son just turned 3 and I can relate to Citali and how she would do anything for Reyan. Typically, I don’t enjoy surprise kids, but this was well done and very enjoyable. Citali’s character development was very good, I only wish I got to read about her as a wolf more. I loved Noor and Caelum’s involvement in this book. I was worried there wouldn’t be much of them, but they were heavily involved. I really enjoyed Citali and Beron’s relationship, but I wish more time was spent in the House of Wolves to strengthen their relationship, like cute little moments. However, I am happy with the outcome of the book. The wolf pack was funny, and I really enjoyed them. The final portion of the book had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t quit reading.

As always, the imagery, characters and plot were fantastic. I always love her stories and never think I can love the next one more than the last, but I do.

Fantastic!

This is book 2 of the duology, starting with House of Eclipses.

I think I enjoyed it even more than House of
Eclipses! What a way to wrap up this unique duology! Citali's secret revealed at the end of House of Eclipses hooked me then, and I adored the transformation she had in House of Wolves. I am a fan of wolves & wolf shifters anyway, but to bring that into an Egyptian-feeling world, with magic, portals, new goddesses and gods, family drama, an evil that could destroy everything, and watch conniving, self-serving Citali come to terms with her new reality as a wolven and have her own redemption arc? I loved it!  Beron the Wolven was a favorite from HoE, and he just endured himself even more in this book! Beron and Cutali have great chemistry, with the classic enemies to lovers, and add in her secret she fiercely protects from others, it just made it that much more appealing. I also enjoyed the Sphinx in this one more as she challenged and surprised Citali, treating her & others in a different manner than before.   Danger abounds, twists twirl, and the rich world just engulfs me and pulls me in... like all of Bond's worlds.
If you haven't started the duology, grab House of Eclipses now!

This book was gifted as an ARC by the author or promotional entity on request.  All thoughts and
opinions are completely my own, and I voluntarily provided a review.

Casey did it again! I am so entranced by this story and these characters that I am so sad it is over!!

I was shocked to find out that this whole book was about Citali but was not disappointed! We were able to dig into her emotions and motives and find out who she really was and why she is they way she is! She is fierce and strong and kick ass!!!

Beron might just take it for my Bond men! I liked him from HoE but grew to enjoy him more in this book! His pack of wolves and the bond and family they have is filled with love and heartfelt moments you could just picture yourself sitting with them!

This book was a perfect translation of what a mother would do for their children. Nothing can break the love a mother has! 💕

Good job Casey

This book was amazing. Made me laugh and cry and be on the edge of my seat. I love the story of Anubis and Sol and Lumos. I just wish Beron and Citali got more time together romantic wise. I also loved the added touch of mother and son. Reyan. As a mother I was able to connect to Citali more as I would also defend my son against any enemy until my dying breath. Overall I think Casey did a great job and the only thing I could see for improvement was a lil more romance but I don't think that was the focus. The story was phenomenal she did a good job 👏 😍

I liked this one, but not as much as the first novel in the series. I found it a little hard to get in the head of Citali since I really didn't like her in the first book, but I ended up coming around and liking her character after we found out her reasoning for a lot of her actions and choices. One complaint I have about this one is it was a little long and I felt like the story could have been shortened a bit and still been just as effective.

We do get more Noor and Caelum here but the story centralized around Citali and Beron and is written from Citali's POV. I prefer Noor's POV as I relate to her more as a character, but if you have already read the first book this one is a good addition to the story and was an enjoyable read.

Let me share my thoughts now that I’m done crying lol:

- I loved it just as much as the first one if not a little bit more :) I loved Beron in the first book and now I love him even more!

- Can we talk about Chase? Can we talk about how much I love him? He needs his own book. And Holt. This book really had better supporting characters compared to book 1.

- I loved watching Citali redeem herself throughout this book. And go from the absolute bitch she was in book 1 to becoming the Goddess of Death, The Dark Sun, Queen of Wolves, Queen of claws and teeth, Gift of the Moon, and Boss Bitch. I want her confidence lol

- Omg the dying speech Beron gave to Citali as he was dying. Me=> sobbing uncontrollably. It was possibly the most beautiful declaration of love and the most heartbreaking. I could not stop crying.

- Anubis was a cool villain but I feel the battle at the end was over a bit too quickly. There was such a build up to it that it felt a bit rushed and he lost too easily. Also dude makes zero effort in decorating his obsidian pyramid lol like at least brush away the cobwebs bruh

- I liked the Sphinx a lot more in this book. Love how close she is to baby Reyan. I wonder which path he will take. Become the next Aten?… The next Wolven?… or become a representative of his mother?

- That scene when Beron says to Citali that he will love her forever and she says she will love him beyond that because she’s immortal and will have to watch him die. Me=> sobbed uncontrollably again.

- I don’t understand why Beron wouldn’t be immortal since his soul is bonded to Citali’s

- That moment where Beron calls Citali “My Dark Sun, Gift of the Moon, Fire of my Heart, Queen of Wolves”
Me=> cried again lol

- Not a big fan of the whole jealousy thing with Amaris. I feel the same thing happened in the first book and it feels a little immature and teenagy. But to be fair this is a YA book series.

-Did I mention how much I love Chase?

House of Wolves is the story of Citali as she transforms into the destiny she was always meant to have. Readers are brought back into a magical world of ancient myth as a new threat, one of Anubis and death, is felt throughout the newly united kingdoms of Lumina and Helios. On the brink of death, Citali is saved by The Wolven, only to find her future was far different than she thought it was supposed to be.

As Citali fights for a chance to protect those she loves most . . . her son and his grandparents, her sister Noor and Caeum, Beron and her new pack, she must embrace what she is to become and continually learn to use and shift her powers and strategy as she deals with Anubis, who is the creator of lies, the spinner of illusions, the master of mirages, and God of the Dead.

House of Wolves was truly breathtaking. Citali is a character like no other. Her journey is not an easy one and her destiny is unexpected . . .yet, once she understands her purpose, she lets nothing get in her way to stop her from doing what needs to be done. I loved watching her get to finally spend time with Reyan, come to a new understanding and relationship with her sister and learn to love again with Beron. And watching her as she tangles with Anubis and learns her true fate was captivating.

Beron was a steadfast and loyal mate to Citali, willing to give up his future to save hers. A true leader to his pack and protector of his brother, the Lumin, he is the perfect match to Citali once she is ready to accept all that she is and will be. I loved that Noor and Caelum played such a large part in this story as well, as these characters are all family with a destiny that is woven together in this magical world.

I was truly swept away by this captivating and stunning tale as Casey L Bond again created characters in a world beyond readers imaginations. 5 stars!

>Fantasía YA.
>Mitología egipcia.
>Hombres lobos.

Beron me gustó y me habría encantado tener povs suyo.

What a marvelous ending to the duology. Again, Casey L. Bond continues her outstanding character and world building in House of Wolves . In this final book, the story revolves around Citali, and is told in her point of view. Casey L. Bond's creative imagination continues to mesmerize readers. House of Wolves is fantastic and emotional read that kept me captivated from beginning to end. With familiar characters and new ones, this conclusion to the duology had me reading with bated breath and at the edge of my seat until the end.

As for voice performance, Tia Johnson delivered a phenomenally passionate telling of the conclusion to this House of Eclipses duology. Just like Amanda Billings did in House of Eclipses, Tia Johnson's telling of House of Wolves continued to convey the magical and emotional tone of the story.

House of Wolves is gripping and impassioned read, and an even more engrossing listen as the narrator brings the characters to life. I would have to say that this is a definite must read/listen.

"Until my last breath, in this life or the hereafter, I will not rest.....until you are dead, body and spirit"

I've got to admit I had very mixed feelings going into this book because ....well let's face it I really didn't like Citali very much 🤷‍♀️ but wow how wrong my feelings are ,I'm now pretty sure I love her a little more than Noor 🙈. Citali’s character development was amazing and so wonderful to read.

"He claimed he wasn't my enemy, but would I turn out to be his"

I've absolutely adored this duology, the world building and character development of all characters has been a pleasure to read, the story has layers of depth you can't help but get lost within, and the writing flows effortlessly across the pages.

House of Wolves continues exactly where House of Eclipses ends, and starts Citali and Beron's story, and straight away I was hooked, this is a rollercoaster of emotions as Citali fights the biggest fight of her life, is she strong enough to overcome the darkness, and is Beron everything she never knew she needed.

This will definitely be going on my top reads of 2021 list,......Amazing.....100% MUST READ!!

I gave House of Eclipses five stars, and wasn’t sure how it’d be possible to make the next book better. Well, per usual, Casey L. Bond knocks it out of the park. House of Wolves is even better than the first, and I’m impressed!
Casey L. Bond has this incredible ability to world-build. Side note: she’s such an inspiration for me, as a fantasy writer. It is so easy to get lost in her worlds and feel like you’re part of her stories. This happens in House of Wolves.
I love this continuation from the first book. More secrets are revealed and more twists and turns follow. I loved the characters, who were very well-rounded and part of the reason why it was so easy to immerse myself into this story.
Romance, twists, and beautiful writing, this is not a series you want to miss. I recommend reading book one first. Don’t miss out!!

One thing I can say about this duology is it needs to be read. Binge it. NOW. There are seriously no words that will do this story justice and explain the depth and uniqueness that Bond has created. This one is Citali’s story and it is just jaw dropping and amazing. My heart raced as things played out, especially after the ending of House of Eclipses. The fluidity of words, the build of the story and how the characters develop is something that is awe inspiring and brilliant. Bond has a beautiful way of bleeding words onto the page and making you feel like you are in that world. The attention to detail and depth is something I live for when it comes to a book by Bond and with House of Wolves, it is something that needs to be devoured. Yes this review is very vague but it has to be. This story is meant to be read and experienced blind.

A decent read. I don't think I enjoyed it was much as I did the 1st book. I was disappointed in the way Anubis was written. He's usually a Badass in stories but the author made him so weak and soft lol it was great to have a story from Citali's POV after the way the first book ended. But it was hard to like her character. I felt she was too cocky at times, and I didn't understand her hatred for Kiran. He had a crush on Noor, but obviously he was no threat to her or Caelum's relationship so there was no need for her to go out of her way to threaten and bully the boy. I was also bored with the way the ending was dragged out. Like OK come on, if there's not gonna be another plot twist or cliffhanger just wrap this story up already. 3.5/5 stars but you can't do decimals so I rounded up to 4 stars.

I wanted to like this one as much as I did House of Eclipses, but I just wasn't as fond of it as I was its predecessor. I enjoyed Noor; I spent the entire length of House of Eclipses building a disdain for Citali, and I was disappointed right off the bat that she was the narrator and protagonist of this novel. My opinion of Citali changed throughout House of Wolves, but I will admit that I spent the whole of the novel waiting for her to do something underhanded.

I did like the novel; the story and its pacing were fantastic, and I enjoyed the subject matter. Folklore is my jam, so this had me from the word "go". I love the pack, and I like that it's fantasy with romance, not the other way 'round -- there's just enough romance to keep you rooting for Citali and Beron. It was a good resolution from the first novel when I had my suspicions that Beron was sweet on her.

I want to thank Casey and his team behind this wonderful book for awarding me the Arc.

Really, thank you so much ♥️

Citlali is the main character and Casey couldn't leave us without her after the end of House Of Eclipses. I never thought I could like her character the way she did as in HOE her character wasn't completely to my liking and in this one I was on her side (Team Citlali) , I loved her relationship with Beron, I'm so obsessed with them 😍 and I can't deny that their chemistry in the first book made me ship them.
Okay, the first book was good, but this one? It's supreme.
We still get to know about certain characters, but this story is completely Citlali's and hers alone.

Again, I thank Casey and her team again for the honor they did me by giving me the Arc.
