I didn’t think this would have much to offer as we pretty much no all the details and yet it was well done and felt fresh. I’m impressed.

This novel takes a look at how the character River escaped the clutches of the alliance via the efforts of her brother. Once he received a coded message from his sister River, that said they are hurting us, he begins to plan a method to help River escape, this process takes a few years and as a few step backs, like losing all his medicine to the underground gang, who a few later surprisingly offer to help him, but it will cost him all the financial credits he as, the ending takes a surprise turn, giving him a unexpected opportunity of helping river escape. This novel gives a more in-depth, a deeper background to how River escapes, in the movie Serenity you just see Simon inside the alliance facility helping River escape, well ths novel gives you the background to how simon finds in himself in the alliance facility. Nice front over, longer than normal comic size. Nice bright colourings throughout the story, only one page of adverts to the rear of the issue. The last page show the serenity ship flying off through the darkness of space. There are not very characters in the issues, just Simon his sister, a few alliance employees, and a brief introduction o Simons and Rivers parents, a brief step back in history to when Simon and River were young. It is a good issues, fills in a unexplained gap in the serenity movie. Well worth reading for any firefly, serenity fan. No editorial errors. In some places the wording can be a bit too small, but apart from that the issue is very good.

Docela hezky provedený, ale celkem zbytečný sešit. Všechno hlavní už víme ze seriálu a filmu.
Mimochodem, proč vypadá finální scéna úplně jinak než ve filmu? Alianční doktor si vůbec není podobný, Simon má na hlavě baret, který ve filmu neměl. Netuším, jestli tím Boom dává najevo, že razí vlastní kontinuitu oddělenou od té původní (podobně jako v případě Buffy), nebo jestli je to prostě jenom redakční chyba (sázím spíš na tuhle druhou možnost).
