Little Miss Sunshine Chloe believes in two things: Russell is her soulmate and her pies are wishing magic. One bite of her cherry pie and he’ll declare her “the one.”
Jaded attorney Nick doesn't believe in magic OR Russell's intentions with Chloe. Pies making wishes come true? Pffft.
But she's perfect for him--as a fake girlfriend to appease his family-friendly boss. She's in love with someone else, after all. And he doesn’t do love, especially not with someone so bubbly, so dewy-eyed, so committed to marching down a wedding aisle.
Plus this girl needs help when it comes to men--a lot of it. He'll help her lure Russell into dreaded wedded bliss, and she'll pose as his date. Her pies are an added bonus.
Except Chloe's wishes begin to go haywire -- starting with granting Nick's and turning all those fake kisses into smoking hot moments of passion.
It turns out Chloe’s not as innocent as he first thought.
A fake relationship, opposites attract, laugh out loud, sexy romantic comedy.
Award-winning author of steamy romcom, erotic romance and steamy contemporary, Elizabeth SaFleur promises all the "feels" in her stories. And, hot heroes, HEAs and (many) spicy, sexy times.

Sweet romance is not my usual genre,as you all know, but since i enjoyed Elizabeth SaFleur’s Elite Doms of Washington,i downloaded this one when i found it. To say this was on the sweeter side for Elizabeth would be accurate, but at the same time it was fun. And shocker,i enjoyed it even though it didn’t have the amount of spice i need to enjoy a story! In fact,it took Chloe and Nick a very long time to get there….. But maybe that was because he initially was helping her to make the man she wanted jealous. Even though he was convinced she could do so much better…. The way she was convinced her pies contained magic when she made a wish for those that ate them, may have seemed a little immature, but consider the fact her Nana, who raised her, taught her everything, and she wanted to hold on to that feeling…. Nick may have been a little sceptical, but love wasn’t something he believed in. Not after what happened to his mother, and his sister…. So,seeing these two fall for eachother against all odds was entertaining to watch, and that’s my final word on the matter.
YES,i DO enjoy a little sweet once in a very long while,ok?😄
Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Hurray - no trigger warnings. First time in a while eh?
So...
Nick is a jaded attorney who doesn't believe in love, thinks magic pies are just made up by crazies on the street, thinks Russell is a jerk, and likes the woman who makes the bullcrap magic pies.
Little Miss Magic Pie Chloe thinks her magic pies are able to woo anyone specially Russell, thinks Nick is a jerk, believes french girls are too thin sticks that should not be anywhere near her supposed future man Russell.
Now to obtain the main goal (for her it's russell, for him to look like he's a stable guy in his personal life) - Chloe and Nick pair up to fool or impress anyone who might think they're beneath them and still win hearts and charm pants off.
Soon the kisses turn real, the chemistry becomes scorching, and the thoughts and hands just don't keep to themselves (oh you know when you're with your crush - don't have any personal experience in that), you know it could be love when it's all heart eyes and oh my god, can't stop thinking about feelings, and want to follow you like I am ET, and you're my home feelings.
But Chloe still determined to get Russell, and Nick still determined to get his job shifted to another state after his sister's crazy ex comes after them (yeah those be the crazies on the street), it's tough to go with fate cupid's plans and just GET A DAMN HEA. Alright?
But you know fate is impatient, and so is Elizabeth's writing - that Nick and Chloe can no longer fight the feelings and then get their HEA after realising that maybe it really was the pie's fault and holy crap have their plans changed now and they have to be the awesome couple that they are.
Now I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Nick and Chloe, the romance, banter, wit, sarcasm, devious plans, dubious fashion choices, and endless carpooling that I just couldn't help but give my heart to them. Plus they were oh so well-developed, even though initially I screamed at Chloe for choosing the wrong before but now my metaphorical vocals are feeling much better, so I love them more now.
Thanks to Elizabeth for making me fall in love with her books again and again. Can't wait for the next one.
4 Star Review of It Was All The Pie’s Fault (The Meet Cute series #1) by Elizabeth SaFleur Elizabeth SaFleur is a new author to me and how I have not come across this author before is beyond me. This may have been my first book, but it will not be my last. From the first chapter I was hooked on the story the author wove about Nick Hollister and Chloe Hart. This book had me smiling throughout, not to mention the funny looks I got from the family when I suddenly burst out laughing a few times. Chloe has her heart set on Russell but Nick keeps getting in the way. She firmly believes that the pies she bakes have magical properties but Nick just wants to eat the her delicious pies and refuses to believe that there is anything magical to them. When Nick agrees to help Chloe get her man, he has no idea the chaos he is about to unleash. Agreeing to fake date Nick, everything quickly becomes complicated and that is when the fun and entertainment begins. Will Chloe realize that Nick is the man for her or will her focus remain on Russell? One click and find out.
Do you believe in magic? Do you believe that magic can help the man of your dreams fall in love with you?
Meet Chloe the primary school teacher who has a secret, a secret passed on through her Nanna that is going to help land her the man of her dreams Russell…. with help from the new stranger in town Nick.
Chloe bakes Pies for the local coffee shop, these pies are made with love, and a spell that makes the magic happen, all you need to do is make the wish as you eat it. She just needs to get Russell to eat it and everything will fall into place,or will it? Nick needs to make a statement to his bosses and what better than fake dating the beautiful, pie baking elementary school teacher. . These two are so different, Chloe is all sunshine and roses and Nick is a bit more driven but has an end game. Can these opposites resist each other's charms after getting themselves into hilarious situations. Can Chloe get her head out of the sand and see what is right in front of her….
This funny, warm, sexy rom com ticks is all you could want from com, with laugh out loud one liners, to the sexy helpful hero. It was nice to curl up with a blanket and a cuppa and read something a little different . It also made me want to eat a big slice of Cherry pie with cream!
I was in two minds about this book as I loved the whole idea of a magical pie that grants your wishes as I love the idea of food being the magic of life and giving a positive spin and quirky outlook on everyday moments and I did love the male lead Nick - his character to me was perfect and from the first meeting, I felt he was the "good guy" and was cheering him on right through the story. Now the main female character was a whole different story, JFC I wanted to shake her and tell her to wake up and smell the coffee and taste her pie. She was so obsessed with Russell that she didn't see that she had a good guy and a nicest in front of her all the time. She felt too naive for me and HELLO, if a guy is going to Paris with another woman and flirting with her -then obviously they have something going on and you have no chance. A normal person would have just counted this a loss and moved on but not Chloe. It Was All the Pie's Fault tells the story of Chloe who is obsessed with Russell being her "perfect man" and when another female gets in her way, Nick who needs her help as he wants to make partner in his law firm and needs to be seen as having a life outside of work - the pair strike a deal to help one another out. What happens though when the line of fake relationships starts to blur which we all know happens in these situations - when will people ever learn? If you are looking for a sweet romance with a bit of comedy, then Elizabeth's new book It Was All the Pie's Fault is for you and a February release to add to your TBR Piles.
This was such a cute, sweet and fun story, that a few times, I forgot who the author was. You see, I'm used to Ms. SaFleur writing hot dominant men and their sexy submissives and now that she has this book out, I find a different side of her that I have come to love. I laughed so much in parts of this story. Nick is the perfect man for Chloe but she just can't see that. At times, I wanted to smack her upside the head but I knew in time, she would see what was right in front of her all along! I loved their connection and and all the hotness. Now I want the next book in this little series!!! Well written, it kept me turning pages and that IS something I expect from this author. She knows how to write a story that will have her readers hanging on every word!
It Was All the Pie's Fault was delightfully charming and pure reading entertainment. As I devoured every word I found myself wanting some pie more often than not. Heck, I think I even smelled the heavenly scent of a freshly baked pie a couple of times.....sigh. Wishful thinking!
Chloe believes in the power of wishes coming true. If they're made while eating some of her famous pie. To say that Nick is a non-believer would be an understatement. Teaching Chloe how to catch the man she's determined is her soul mate has some unexpected consequences for them both. She gets the guy but not the one she originally wanted. He gets the girl but almost loses her while trying to keep another player off her radar.
Coming from the pen of Elizabeth SaFleur, this sweet, homey rom com, has come as a very pleasant surprise! With Chloe, all bubbles, blinkers and head in the clouds (made of pies 😄😋) and career driven, gorgeous Nick, we gave the perfect combination of sunshine and clouds. Funny and heart warming, this is a book where I was tempted to shake the heroine and tell her to wake up and dump the slimeball Russell, to abandon her rose tinted glasses for a few moments etc etc, but why bother, when the consequent story was such a delight! I am hoping for more stories along these romantic lines from Elizabeth! 💖💖💖💖
If you are in the mood for a romantic comedy that is an easy read with likable characters, some sexual chemistry, and just a pinch of smutty times, then It Was All The Pie’s Fault would be an excellent choice. This story had me smiling and laughing at the characters just as often as I was shaking my head. It was something I wasn’t expecting from author Elizabeth SaFleur, but also something I thoroughly enjoyed.
While the heroine, Chloe, was definitely blinded by love, or what she thought was love, she was still quite enchanting in her own way. Luckily our male lead, Nick, saw through her quirkiness right down to her bodilicious curves. Although, he may have been slightly swayed by pie, lots and lots of pie.
This was a fun story, full of sweetness and not terribly straining on the brain, while it provided a great escape. The meet-cute connection was a great lead-in to the end goal and allowed our characters, who didn’t particularly like each other, to have a common goal and an excuse to continue to see each other. I loved the male competition that ensued as they each tried to one-up the other, and especially loved watching our jaded hero fall unsuspectingly in love. Of course, it also has a happy ending after just a smidgen of angst. I really enjoyed this story and I will most likely read the remaining books in The Meet Cute Series without even knowing who they are about.
Chloe, the female lead, is loyal to a fault. The fault being that she has blinded herself to her crush’s faults. Nick, the male lead, is focused on his ambitions but he still cares enough to try and help Chloe, especially since it benefits him too.
This story is dual POV, well written, and genuine romantic comedy. I liked and understood Nick but Chloe’s determined blindness and obstinacy frustrated me. I appreciated that she pulled herself together by the end and that Nick overcame his blinkered ambition focus but I spent a fair bit of time frustrated with one or the other of these characters. Steamy scenes were great and the last third of the story is what got the rating.

Elizabeth SaFleur and her sexy rom-coms are becoming some of my favorite reads from this author, who is definitely showing us her wonderful writing ability. It Was All The Pie's Fault is her next installment revolving around Chloe and Nick and Chloe's pies. Chloe has eyes for one man and wants to use her magical pies to make him look her way, while Nick wants to help Chloe realize that she is more than just her wonderfully tasting pies. Their story is one full of laughs, eye opening realizations, and confidence building that makes for a fun, sweet, and sexy read. I can't wait for the next book in this small and quirky town.
4.5 Stars It Was All The Pie’s Fault was a delightful read! This is Nick Hollister and Chloe Hart’s story.
Nick should have wished for Chloe’s love with the one of the wishes on a pie! It would have been a whole lot easier!
Nick loved Chloe’s pies. He certainly scarfed up her pies! Even though he doesn’t believe.
Chloe wants Nick to help her land Russell. Nick wants Chloe to fake date. Since Chloe wants Russell that would mean that Chloe wouldn’t really want him. How messed up is that?
Chloe bakes these fabulous pies and I want one! She believes her pies are magical! That if you make a wish it will be granted to you if you wish while eating the magical pie! Lord knows how I wish that were true!
Elizabeth SaFleur has written a wonderful romcom that I just adore! Chloe is amazing. I love her carefree, full of sunshine attitude. All she wants is Russell to eat some pie and fall for her but someone named Nick just keeps getting in the way. Nick doesn’t believe in the magic of Chloe’s pies but he doesn’t mind eating them. They both need something from each other and it seems fate has other plans. Written wonderfully and smooth between the two main characters and a unique romance that keeps readers engaged and entertained.
This is a story that will have you smiling from beginning end it was so lovely. Chloe and Nick are opposites, and yet they are perfect for each other they just don’t know it. Chloe believes in magic and Nick doesn’t and Chloe does seem a little crazy but Nick helps her win over her “soulmate “ Russell. There are laugh out loud moments and moments that make you feel so bad for them but it is a charming story and the ending was perfect.
What an incredible start to a new series and a new genre for this super talented author! It Was All The Pie's Fault is a rom-com with all the feels, kind of like the pies it features: sweet, sugary and goey, with a pinch of salt, plenty of spice and a crunch to dig your teeth into. It made me laugh, made me want to throttle someone, made me hot and made me happy along with Chloe and Nick. It will definitely go on my keeper shelf and I can't wait for the next books in the series!

"This was a cute rom-com, steamy story. Chloe and Nick are so opposite that they work. With one wish on a cherry pie, Chloe put out to the universe to find true love, too bad (or not) it isn't the guy she fixates on. Nick just happens into the coffee shop as Chloe makes her wish. Nick is just trying to make partner and move, he never expected his pie queen to knock him on his butt. Sometimes, it is the one person you didn't see coming that is the right person for you. This story has a slow build but the ending put a smile on my face. "
Ah this was just the ticket. I wanted a light hearted slightly silly book to read and that’s exactly what I got. But it was also really kind of sweet, a bit like her pies. Fun.
It's very cute and heart-fluttering but also sizzling with chemistry. I got a bit frustrated with Chloe and her obsession in the first half, and a bit more with both Nick and Chloe in the final conflict, but all in all, it was such an enjoyable read. And I'm craving some pies.
This is just a darling story. The title is adorable and there is no turning back once you start to read. The characters are magnificent. Chloe just melts your heart with her adorable outlook on like. Nick is a hunk who thinks he is only out for himself but underneath is a big softy. The story is at times laugh out loud funny and also has lots of witty conversations. It is an absolutely wonderful quick read you will thoroughly enjoy.
Chloe truly believes her pies have magic in them. That's why she wants the object of her undying crush, Russell, to take one bite and fall in love with her. But this guy, who kinda sorta is a hot, sweaty after a workout menace, keeps getting in the way. Why does cynical attorney Nick keep showing up and interfering in her plans? But when he offers her everything she wants in return for fake dating him to appease his boss, she can't say no. She'll just need to make sure the magic of her pies influences the right guy because Nick is absolutely not going to be the one she falls for or who falls for her in return. Definitely not. He's jaded, doesn't believe in the magic of her pies, or in love, and anyway he's not going to be around forever. So it will have to stay fake. Definitely fake. Yep...
Awwwww ... I loved Nick and Chloe! This was so sweet and cute and funny and it just made me smile. How could I not fall in love with a heroine who believes her pies are magic, and the hot, sweet but disbelieving attorney who can't help but fall for someone his total opposite?! I have to admit that I was perhaps expecting this to be slightly more like SaFleur's previous hot BDSM writing, but this rom com is just as good in a much different way, in a different but no less entertaining way.

I love a surprise from an author. After reading several emotion-heavy, BDSM stories on Elizabeth SaFleur’s booklist, having the opportunity to read a rom-com from her is refreshing and absolutely a shock. Her newest story, It Was All the Pie’s Fault, has all the qualities I love in a rom-com. An erstwhile heroine who is quite a bit short-sighted. In this story, her heroine, Chloe, is downright blind in her interest in a colleague. Thinking he is her soulmate, she fails to notice his flaws. Enter SaFleur’s hero, Nick. The foil to Chloe, Nick and Chloe have instant chemistry much to Chloe’s shock and disdain. Over and over again, Nick and Chloe meet, and their attraction grows while Chloe’s interest in her “soulmate” wanes. All of this is underscored by Chloe’s magical pies, pies that grant wishes for their consumers. With Chloe’s naivete and Nick’s charm, Elizabeth SaFleur’s story made for a delicious read. From Chloe and Nick’s banter to Chloe’s blinding commitment to a plan that will fail her to a pseudo-hero in Russell, the jerk of this story, to a message about prejudgment based on appearances to the surprise that Nick can fall in love much to his chagrin, I adored this story. It isn’t doing anything new, necessarily, but it’s the type of reading that you can lose yourself in for a day when the pressures of life threaten to get you down. That it comes from Elizabeth SaFleur who already grabs my attention is an even bigger treat. If you love small-town romance with an independent but misguided heroine, a hero who is all kinds of alpha but a bit of a player…at least until he meets the heroine, and some magical pies, then you will enjoy the pages of It Was All the Pie’s Fault.
It Was All the Pie's Fault by Elizabeth SaFleur is the First book in The Meet Cute Series. This is the story of Chloe and Nick. Chloe is looking for her true love when she wishes on a pie. Nick is working on his career and moving up the business chain. But these two different people seem to be drawn to each other although Chloe had her eye on someone else. But wishes brought to her she needed. This was a cute page turning read.
I’ll admit the title and cover are what grabbed me first, and then I read the blurb and decided this might be a fun cute read. While I prefer first person, this third person story was done in a way that I still was able to tell which character’s point of view I was reading. The plot kept me reading, wanting to see just how or if the pies’ magic could be proven or actually seen. I also wanted to know if Chloe would ever figure out just what kind of guy Russell really was.
Chloe was just sure that Russell was perfect for her. They had (supposedly) the same goals and wants from their lives. But she was definitely a little bit delusional in thinking meeting him to talk about something from work was a date, a first date, that with a wish from her pie would lead to more. Sure we got examples of how the pie might be magic, with Duke coming from behind to win as one example, and one of Nick’s cases coming through the way he wanted. However at one point I found myself wondering why she couldn’t see what Nick was saying about Russell. Why she couldn’t see for her own eyes the way he was behaving and treating her and that it meant he wasn’t interested/wasn’t the guy for her? But then I realized that I’ve actually done that exact thing many things in my own life. I’m thinking of guys I worked with at the bookstore that seemed to be flirting and that we’d be perfect for each other in certain ways. Yet they were just friendly guys or maybe actually had already found their perfect person. And then the guy from my past that as I followed on social media and I thought how perfect we would be for each other if we met up, but nope, he wasn’t interested in me, so none of that other stuff mattered. It took me a while to be clear on that. So once I realized how delusional I have been, I was able to get back into the story.
The book was very cute overall, and I was till a little upset with her for one scene that was so hot, yet she ran away and blocked him and wouldn’t talk to him. And then when he said what he did that she overheard, while I get why he did it, it still seemed a little out of character for him to say that to anyone about her. Especially if he was trying so hard for the partnership. I would love to see Nick’s sister get her own story, and would definitely be interested in reading more in this series. This is my first book by this author, but I doubt it will be my last!
It’s a cute contemporary romance set in a small town, Moorsville. Tropes: Fake dating. Friend/Anonymous to Lovers.
Our (h) Chloe Hart is a grade one teacher. Whilst also a kick-ass pie baker on the side (she believes her pie have magic depending on the flavour and each represent something else) (Cherry – Love, pumpkin – ward off bad spirits, mango and coconut – Rebirth, Blueberries - protection, and lavender - purity, grace, and calmness, apple and cinnamon pie – success, etc). Who wishes for a family to call her own after her nana (the last of her family passed away last year). I would have loved more description of the MCs characteristics or appearance. I need description so I can form a character in my head.
She has a one-sided crush on Russell (colleague) who she believes to be a perfect fit for her. She’s planned the rest of her life with him in her head. (I mean don't we all with our crushes - Definitely relatable character). He shows no affection towards (h) other than as a co-worker. He is said to be a player from the (H) perspective.
Scarlett is nice side character for h to have. She added a bit of humour to the story. She loves to read smut. *Can we be besties?*. Self-proclaimed master of men’s bodies.
(H), Nick Hollister (Somewhere in his 30s) is an attorney working toward becoming a partner at his firm. Wants to move to LA to take his sister who has just gone through domestic abuse in her marriage. (Daphne, who also has 10yr old son). The H is shown to have a sweat tooth and loves h baking pies.
The story starts off very slow paced, until about half way point but even then lacks the oomph to push the narrative through. I personally felt the characters lacked sexual chemistry. I personally prefer the constant pull and push between my MCs to guide the story. The addition of pies and the (h) ability to bake, pies and all their flavours & magic, was very unique to the story.
Final thoughts: I would definitely read another book by the author. Good quick read for some light-hearted romanic comedy.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
To all who eat This salt and sweet I bless your wish With my dish. If good and true It comes to you. Embrace the light And take a bite.
I quite enjoyed this quirky book! I have always thought that chocolate could heal all, but after reading this book by Elizabeth SaFleur, I am beginning to believe that I need to switch to eating pie!!
Growing up, Claire loved to bake with her Nanna. Pasturies, pies and baked goods were their specialties. When Nanna passes, Claire continues the baking tradition, and always uses Nana’s magic spells for anyone that needs them! When trying to seduce the possible “love of her life” Claire runs into Nick, handsome and annoying. When the pieces to her love puzzle fall apart, Claire leans on Nick for help in the man department. Giving Claire dating tips is the last thing Nick wants to do, but there is something about Claire that Nick cannot get out of his head. Trying to pursue his dreams, Nick has no time for love. But he always has time for Claire’s pies, and maybe a little magic.
“What was it about women and their poor choices around men? His mother, his sister, and now this lost first grade teacher who believed wishing made things so.”
It Was All The Pie’s Fault, pleasantly surprised me! I quite enjoyed this book. Nick and Claire are incredible main characters, each bringing so much to the story. Their ying and yang ways are heart melting. Watching Claire grow as a person is empowering. Nick is a hottie that sees the good in Claire when she cannot see it for herself.
“Maybe their meeting over a baked good was kismet. Maybe she’d hypnotized him. Who cared? He had his arms full of his woman—the right woman.”
Grab yourself a piece of pie, curl up under a blanket, and enjoy It Was All The Pie’s Fault!
I was looking for something light and sweet…this sort of was it but it wasn’t. Took me a while to figure out who was who, the beginning of the book just tried to stuff too much into the first page. Once I sorted it out, I realized that Chloe was supposed to be the romantic believing in magic and that her pie had the ingredients to help make wishes come true. She should have eaten several of her own pies to find out if the idiot she kept chasing was worth her self-esteem?
That said, all though there was a lot of shade thrown Russell’s way, he was only actually pursuing one person, the French teacher. Chloe was a nice easy constant stroke to his ego but he wasn’t actively pursuing her until suddenly someone else made him aware that he might lose his ego stroker.
Nick was a nice guy for the most part, he had his moments, (then again we all do.) It was nice to see him go from blindly going after partnership in his law firm to actually thinking about what really made him happy.
Chloe came across as a tween with her obsession of Russell, and not catching a clue. While she was after Russell, he was also chasing a woman that didn’t want him. I guess it’s a case of chase after someone that doesn’t want you for several of the people in this story.
As for the relationship, Chloe and Nick spent most of the story apart or doing their own thing with little moments, I didn’t see a relationship forming that would be a solid anything other than the author putting them together.
For me this was actually a two and a half star read, I left it as a three because it did have more sweet moments and the eventual relationship between Chloe and Nick was nice.
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
First grade teacher Chloe Hart's grandmother passed down the secret to making magic pies, so when she decides that fellow teacher Russell is the perfect man for her, she decides to use a bit of that magic to help him fall in love with her. She carefully plans out their first date at a local coffee shop, but her hopes are dashed when the school's beautiful new French teacher, Suzette Marie, crashes the date and shamelessly flirts with Russell. Not only that, attorney Nick Hollister witnesses Chloe's humiliation and informs her that she can do better than Russell, though she doesn't agree. After Nick witnesses another date gone wrong, he offers to help Chloe make Russell jealous by pretending that they're dating. In exchange, Chloe will pretend to be Nick's girlfriend at a few upcoming office functions, which he hopes will help him secure the promotion his bosses have been promising for months. They want workaholic Nick to improve his work-life balance, and domestic goddess Chloe is the perfect woman to make them think he's done just that.
I really enjoyed this super cute, laugh-out-loud funny opposites attract romance, which featured likeable main characters and a fast-paced plot. Nick and Chloe's banter was a ton of fun, and their chemistry was apparent from the moment they met. I never could figure out exactly what Chloe saw in the smarmy Russell, but I was glad that her determination to win him over brought her to Nick, who was not only a better match for her, he actually appreciated her for who she was. It was very easy for me to cheer them on to their HEA.
I recommend "It Was All the Pie's Fault" for fans of contemporary romance and romantic comedy and look forward to the next book in the series.

This was a little bit of light refreshment for me and I loved it. It certainly seemed as though wishes came true when Chloe baked using her grandmother's magic pie recipes, and Chloe is a believer. The wishes had a way of coming true but not always as expected. Chloe wanted her 'perfect man', fellow teacher Russell, to live happily ever after with and Nick wanted a partnership at his law firm far from their small town and no romantic entanglements whatsoever, so you know what's going to happen right from the start. That doesn't mean I didn't have fun watching them realise what was in front of them and what they really wanted. This is the first book by Elizabeth Safleur that I have read and it was just what I needed because the previous book I started (from another new to me author) sadly just wasn't for me and I could not read beyond the first few chapters because the heroine's behaviour was inexplicable and incredibly stupid in the circumstances, and I can count on the fingers of one hand the number of times I could not finish a book. Chloe took her time to realise the truth but she was endearing about it, and her open and trusting nature and always seeing the best in people made everything that happened believable. It was so easy to get caught up in Chloe and Nick's story and I wolfed it down as quickly as I would a slice of her apple pie!
