The fighting was supposed to be over. They were supposed to be safe...The demon might be dead, but the fight is far from over. While the Empire slowly rebuilds, a new darkness is brewing, because Elmerah forgot one highly important fact. When a king is killed, there is always another ruler waiting to take his place.Meanwhile, Saida and Malon make their way through a strange new realm in search of Ilthune's circlet. Can two elves control the power of the dark goddess, or will she chain them in return?

I cannot wait for the final book to come, the books are just too good. The chemistry between the sisters, the friends and between Elmerah and Alluin is so perfect.
Isara was trying to bring peace to the realm after taking over from Egrin Dinoba, the demon who has posed as the Emperor for so many years and she had Daemon, her brother, as her advisor but things were going far from smoothly in the transition. Meanwhile Saida and Malon travelled into the underworld looking for the 3rd circlet, that of the goddess Ilthune and what they found there was far from what they were expecting. Would this goddess take over? she wanted them to take her back to their own realm, but at what cost? Elmerah and Isara still both saw visions of Egrin and since they were sure he was dead, since he had been killed by their own hands, they were being haunted by him. Other higher demons were interested in the post vacated by Egrin and the treasure he was supposed to have left behind and they were opening portals and using one of the team to overpower the people in the palace. The adventure is very fast paced and thrilling, our team of friends are all separated and doing their own things, and the circlets of power are separated as well. It seems that those who can wield their power are God-touched and saida wondered now that she had wielded both circlets would she spread cindra's healing light or Ilthune's killing darkness and she was afraid. All their lives were in danger! A most exciting read and I look forward to book 6.
This series keeps getting better and better and wow we had some good twists in this chapter. I was definitely not expecting them. I can't say too much because it will give away spoilers so i will keep my review short. The character building is progressing nicely, the world is growing, and the story is coming full circle. The author is good at keeping you engaged in the story and I appreciate that the author does not rehash things that have happened in the past story - because goodness there are so many that do that unnecessarily. The story's arc is always great with the build up and now i want to know how it all ends.
This series is so good. It's everything I like in fantasy: good pacing, lots of lore, solid world building, good action, and likable characters. It's a little to keep track of all the characters and different races, though, I feel like I need a little guide to help. Action in the last 20% speeds up a LOT, and suddenly it's the end of the book. I would have preferred the ending to include a little more exposition, but otherwise it's a great installment of a great series.
Egrin is dead but somewhere a portal is open and demon creatures keep getting into the capital, keeping Elmerah busy. Worse she keeps getting glimpses of the dead demon. Next to appear are demons and Dreilore. Malon kidnaps Saida, taking her to the demon realm. Friends and allies are separated again, each facing life threatening challenges and in the process uncovering a history none of them suspected.
Excellent tale of action and adventure as the chronicles continue. The characters are captivating, drawing you deeper into the intrigue. I really like this book and I highly recommend it.
Another great read! The witches of Shadowmarsh are great warriors and allies! There have been so many exciting twists this book that I have to give it a second read… but first book 6!
once again, a fantastic storyline, the sisters rebuild their relationship, the city is saved and the relationships between other characters finally burst out of the pages
