I loved Rux and Cammy.
I usually avoid friends to lovers stories like the plague, but when I read a series I have a hard time skipping over a book and that’s the sole reason I started to read this one.
I’m glad I did. Those two has the kind of chemistry that is hard to come across in books. I usually skip explicit scenes because .. well, most of the time if you’ve read one you’ve read them all but this book, gah, the tension and urgency and the connection between those two was written perfectly.
Rux was such a great guy. I liked that his hang ups about pursuing more came from insecurity but at no point was he an a**hole about it.
Cammy was also pretty great. She communicated exactly what she wanted and I think that’s one of the best things about her.
This book is a rare - friends to lovers done right. By done right I just mean that it’s my thing.
I loved Rux and Cammy.

It's 3 am in my corner of the world and I have to work tomorrow. I swore to myself I would pace myself and enjoy the story, taking my time. That's out the window now.
Friends to lovers is my favorite trope. And this is perfect. I can't believe the book is over.
So, Cammy, the single mom who never got to enjoy her younger years after being left pregnant by her boyfriend. Not that she regrets it, because she has Matty, her son, her whole world.
Plus, she has Rux, the hot hockey player who is so devoted to her and who is there for her every step of the way.
And they're friends. Amazing friends. And one kiss changes it all and kickstarts this book into something phenomenal.

It's a friends-to-lovers story. It's also a second-chance story for a girl who thought she'd always be left behind and a guy who has no idea how amazing he is. They have no idea how worthy they are and how much they deserve to be happy.
These two made me smile, cry, giggle, broke my heart into tiny pieces and patched it up again. It made me believe in love.
Mira, if you ever read this: this is what you were meant to do with your life. You were meant to write these stories.
If there was a chance to give it 10 stars instead of 5, I would surely take it. One of my favorite books of 2020 for sure.

5 - "One last time…" Stars!
The Slayers Hockey series just goes from strength to strength with book three; Dirty Rebound giving us Rux and Cammy’s story.
The single mum and the team clown, the best of friends, who decide to try adding ‘benefits’ to their relationship with sexy-hot results! As you delve a bit deeper and get to know them through the dual POV you also see that although they both have full and busy lives, they are still two lonely people looking for companionship on a deeper level than just friendship, but both are wary due to their pasts.
She gives me things I didn’t even realize I needed. Things that soothe a place inside me I do my best to forget-the one it’s too late to fix…
I feel like I have pretty much written the same review for every book in this series, in that I loved it, I loved the characters and I couldn’t put it down. Mira has struck reading gold with each book so far, and I am just dying to see more from the team in the future. Rux and Cammy had another dimension with the addition of her son; Matty, and he was a total cutie too, but you get the usual team banter as well as keeping up-to date with previous players and their partners too.
Wade Grady is up next in Dirty Talker and I can’t wait!

This is one of the best friends to lovers stories I have read in my entire reading journey (I’m old you guys so that’s saying something!) … Do with that information what you will LOL
It’s no secret I’m a fan of Mira. She’s good people, an outstanding friend and even better author. I’ve read just about every word she’s ever written and sometimes, she does this thing where I can feel her in the story. I know, a little weird and creepy probably, but I know Mira and this story is Mira! She made me all kinds of happy with this one and I just can’t stop smiling over it!
These two, Rux and Cammy, have been best of friends for quite some time. Honestly, they were always more than just best of friends, they just didn't see it! lol They were each other’s rock, shoulder, sounding board and all around go-to person with everything. Until love, love made an appearance and there was no turning back!
GLORIOUS feel-good, low on the angst and heavy on the love, magnificent spark from cover to cover, romance journey!! EPIC I tell ya!

all the fucking stars
God this was so so so good!
I absolutely devoured this book. Couldn’t put it down if you paid me. One of my favourite things about it was how real funny it was for me. I find a lot of “funny” books don’t read like how people actually joke around. Whereas in this book all the jokes sounded like things my friends and I would say to each other.
The other major win for me, which somehow is also my only gripe, is Rux and Cammy’s relationship. Guys... you were just in a relationship the whole damn time. Literally the only thing that changed was now they had sex.
It actually blew my mind that no one talked about that lmao and apparently that was something to get over, get used to whatever.
However! For some reason, the angst surrounding that nonsense actually worked for me.

Un romanzo che racconta di come un semplice bacio dato per ripicca cambierà le dinamiche e il rapporto tra la giovane Cammy e lo stimato giocatore di hockey Ruxton, migliori amici da sempre.
Una storia leggera raccontata in maniera semplice e scorrevole, del genere sport romance friends to-lovers che non prevede particolari drammi, perfetta per trascorrere qualche ora in spensieratezza e tradotto in maniera eccellente e nello stile di Paola Ciccarelli.
Mi piace molto la penna di questa autrice e come caratterizza i suoi personaggi con i quali è facile entrare in empatia e apprezzare le varie sfumature che Mira ama evidenziare. I buoni sentimenti, come sempre, sono messi in primo piano, così come le storie d'amore, quelle semplici e veritiere, fulcro di tutti i suoi libri.
I dialoghi sono frizzanti e sono presenti bellissime scene romantiche ma anche momenti intensi e sensuali.

More of a 3.5 stars! I'm not a fan of a single mom trope but our hero was really sweet. I also didn't like his past drama. It felt rushed towards the end.

3.5 stars.
I loved these two friends to lovers. They are so supportive and kind to each other and it’s great. Rux is so great with her and the kid.
However, he doesn’t move forward with her because “she deserves better”. And when the reason comes out at the 95% mark, I don’t understand why that made a difference. Plus, there’s a stupid third act breakup and dumb drama.
So, it was great overall. Some OW drama at the end due to a misunderstanding (tho it still doesn’t make sense to me) and some OM drama cause her ex/baby daddy wants to get back with her.
The hero has been celibate for a couple months. Sadly, I think he manwhored it around for a while when they were friends/he had a crush on her.

While there’s hardly any danger to the reinvention of the wheel here with Dirty Rebound, it still goes about in it’s own way as a satisfying read from start to finish. Dare I say the strongest of the series as it presently stands too. Rux & Cammy were so easy to like, Rux particularly, & breezed their way to the top as my favorite couple in the series so far. True, there’s some drama in the latter stages that’s pretty much par for the course with this trope, but I still say it’s a very good palate cleanser overall if you’re coming off a read you kinda need to decompress from. DR is a solid blend of sweet, playful, sexy & adorkable.

This is a great friends to lovers. Rux plays for The Slayers hockey team and is COMPLETELY YUMMY!!!!! Cammy and Rux are best friends. Rux has been a huge support for Cammy when it comes to her son Matty and has always been there for her. So when she gets dumped by her date and on top of it her ex, Matty’s dad has also popped back into their lives, Rux swoops in and saves the day. The kiss is just for show at first but then when another kiss happens there is no denying they have serious chemistry.
These two character were awesome on their own but together they are fire!! I loved Rux & Matty’s relationship it was so endearing.

LOVED LOVED LOVED!
This was friends to lovers perfectly done! Miss Mira knocked another book from this series out of the park. Her talented writing and storytelling made it easy for me to fall fast and fall hard. She easily pulled me in and made me keep turning the pages.
Rux is always the jokester, always trying to make people laugh. But man-o-man, get his heart involved and it is amazing how serious and caring and protective he becomes. His big, beautiful heart comes shining through at exactly the right moments.
Cammy is the little sister of Julia (from Dirty Player) and we finally see her get that HEA. Her number one priority is her son, Matty. Rux has been her best friend for a few years, so he knows that. He cares for them both so much, he refuses to let anything get in the way of their happiness. Even if that means any sort of romantic relationship with her. No matter how badly he might want it. But they can enjoy each other and some ‘benefits’ for a while without any problems, right?
The chemistry between Rux & Cammy was so hot it sizzled. Their strong friendship was the cherry on top. They knew each other, trusted one another, they got each other. But they knew they couldn’t stay together.
I wanted to crawl into the pages and hug them both. The love they had for each other gave me all the warm fuzzies. Their banter was delightfully charming and so full of love. Their passion was full of sparks, and when they were together? All the tingles and swoons!

My favourite one in the series so far! A best friends to lovers romance. He's a hockey player. She's a single mom. A fake relationship that quickly transitions into a friends with benefits deal.

Erst ist es eigentlich nur ein Kuss, damit Cammy vor ihrem Ex nicht schlecht dasteht, aber dann wird schnell eine kleine Fake-Beziehung draus. Rux und Cammy sind beste Freunde, die über alles sprechen können, als also vertrauen sie einander auch genug, um der Anziehung nachgeben zu können, ohne Angst um ihre Freundschaft zu haben.
Aber natürlich sind trotzdem auch kompliziertere Gefühle im Spiel, denn Cammy hat einen Sohn, den sie vor Enttäuschungen bewahren möchte, und da der kleine Matty Rux so schon sehr gern hat, möchten sie ihm nicht zu viele Hoffnungen machen oder ihn verwirren. Außerdem ist auch Mattys Vater, der sowohl Cammy als auch seinen eigenen Sohn im Stich gelassen hat, wieder zurück und möchte mehr Verantwortung übernehmen, daher ist es bereits eine turbulente Zeit für Mutter und Sohn.
Rux hingegen findet, dass er den beiden nicht die Stabilität bieten könnte, die sie verdienen, er sei nicht gut genug für sie und auch einfach nicht der Typ für feste Beziehungen, nachdem er schon einmal verletzt wurde. Seine Karriere als Eishockey-Spieler läuft gerade auch nicht so gut, denn er ist nicht gerade in Bestform und die Presse ist schnell bereit, die Schuld der neuen Freundin zuzuschreiben: Cammy.
Mir hat die Chemie zwischen Rux und Cammy sehr gut gefallen, man fühlt sowohl die starke Freundschaft als auch die Anziehung, aber auch ihre Sorgen kann man sehr gut nachvollziehen. Die Fake-Dating-Romance ist kaum vorhanden, aber schon der Grund, warum die beiden sich anfangs aufeinander einlassen. Dafür hat mir die Geschichte um Matty auch sehr gut gefallen und auch die enge Beziehung zwischen Cammy und ihrer Schwester fand ich sehr gelungen.
Aber natürlich sind trotzdem auch kompliziertere Gefühle im Spiel, denn Cammy hat einen Sohn, den sie vor Enttäuschungen bewahren möchte, und da der kleine Matty Rux so schon sehr gern hat, möchten sie ihm nicht zu viele Hoffnungen machen oder ihn verwirren. Außerdem ist auch Mattys Vater, der sowohl Cammy als auch seinen eigenen Sohn im Stich gelassen hat, wieder zurück und möchte mehr Verantwortung übernehmen, daher ist es bereits eine turbulente Zeit für Mutter und Sohn.
Rux hingegen findet, dass er den beiden nicht die Stabilität bieten könnte, die sie verdienen, er sei nicht gut genug für sie und auch einfach nicht der Typ für feste Beziehungen, nachdem er schon einmal verletzt wurde. Seine Karriere als Eishockey-Spieler läuft gerade auch nicht so gut, denn er ist nicht gerade in Bestform und die Presse ist schnell bereit, die Schuld der neuen Freundin zuzuschreiben: Cammy.
Mir hat die Chemie zwischen Rux und Cammy sehr gut gefallen, man fühlt sowohl die starke Freundschaft als auch die Anziehung, aber auch ihre Sorgen kann man sehr gut nachvollziehen. Die Fake-Dating-Romance ist kaum vorhanden, aber schon der Grund, warum die beiden sich anfangs aufeinander einlassen. Dafür hat mir die Geschichte um Matty auch sehr gut gefallen und auch die enge Beziehung zwischen Cammy und ihrer Schwester fand ich sehr gelungen.

Mira Lyn Kelly knows how to write hockey hunks and strong sexy women who fall for them! Rux is so fun, sexy and delicious! We have loved Rux for a while and I knew his story was going to be good! He's just so fun, free, sexy and loyal. He loves hard, plays hard and just likes to make people smile. He's best friends with Cammy, Julia's sister (from Dirty Player) They are just friends. They hang out, cuddle on the couch. Have fun with her son, Matty. Hang out with their friends after games. And then there's a kiss. For show. But it opens up something between them. When there's another kiss, it's game on. They can have fun, do friends with benefits. It just feels natural for them to touch, kiss, hug and more. They aren't going to forget that they were friends first. Even when feelings start to get involved. Will Rux be able to admit his true feelings before it's too late? Will Cammy be able to forget the way Rux made her feel? Oh man! These two captured my heart! I love the fun and sexy side of Rux, but he's more than that. He's sweet and cuddle and full of love to share! Cammy is strong, independent and such a good mom. I loved Matty! He made me laugh and cry! I’m pretty sure it’s my favorite in the series so far. I really fell in love with Cammy and Rux’s relationship–their deep friendship, the support they offer to each other, their passion… Both are characters we met as far back as in Dirty player, and we finally get their story. And it was a beautiful one. And their chemistry was amazing.
I loved how Rux fitted in Cammy’s life, taking care of her and her son, helping when needed. Loving them so much he doesn’t want to risk that by being in a relationship with Cammy. I wasn’t sure about his decision at first, but it’s explained in the end, and I understood his fears. That made for a well developped character that I couldn’t help but love.
Everyone is back, but we don’t get to see much of them, except Greg and Julia from Dirty player–of course, Julia being Cammy’s sister, and Greg being Rux’s best friend. It was really nice to see them again, although… but I won’t say anything else about that.
Feelings and heat, with low angst and some humor, it’s definitely a book you want to read.

This is book three in the Slayers Hockey Series and you are going to want to pick this up! Though it can be read as a standalone I really think you will love it even more after you have read the first two books in the series.

Perhaps it is better to read the previous books first because going into this one without knowing the story made me feel a bit confused.

Children get me every time. This book was cute, and I more or less loved it. Was it my favorite book of all time? Well, no. But it was adorable, it made me happy, and it brightened my day. What more could you ask for, really?

Loved it! Rux and Cammy were so cute together, and loved it when these 'besties' became besties with benefits--- and thought it wouldn't cloud their relationship...ha

This was my first read by this author, and I was really excited especially since she reached out to be personally and asked for me to review this new release.. But unfortunately I just couldn't connect with this book as much as I wanted to. Camryn and Rex truly had a special friendship and bond between the two of them, but I never felt the passion, chemistry, or even the soul-mate worthy love. I don't know if it was just my head space I was in while reading, but I never even felt a spark between the two of them.
I'm sure there are other readers out there who will adore this book, and I can see why it's getting so many amazing reviews.. there was just something missing for me here.

I'm pretty sure I was holding my breath for the better part of this book waiting for these two to figure things out. Then when the light bulbs clicked on... my heart swelled. Their love story is amazing, I loved it so much. I hate that it eneded. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

Sooo freaking good!!! I loved it. Plain and simple.
My first read from this author and deffo not last.
First off, the chemistry Cammy and Rex had was off the charts! And I'm a picky reader and my expectations are usually pretty high when it comes to romance. But this book meets all of them.
I'll be quick today because I'm in a hurry and have lots of shit to do.
This book is a beautifully written story about two people who love each other. You see how they grow, how they shift from just friends to something a bit more and more, how they fight for what they have, how their insecurities sometimes take their toll on both of them and how much, against all odds, they try to fight for their happiness.
I loved both Cammy and Rex separately and I adored them together. They are one of my favourite couples ever. And again, I can be a fussy lil hoe at times. A huge plus is that there's no immature bullshit here, just two people who clearly belong together and their journey to finally have their HEA.
So, if you haven't read it yet, and you're a fan of friends to lovers trope, like your characters realistic, need a good dose of steam then what are you waiting for??? This book will be perfect for you.

The Slayers Hockey series just goes from strength to strength. Dirty Rebound is book 3, giving us Rux and Cammy’s story. I’m pretty sure this is my favorite in the series so far. I really fell in love with Cammy and Rux’s relationship. Their close and deep friendship, their mutual support of one another, their chemistry and passion. I’ve been dying for their story since Dirty player, and we finally get it. And it was a beautiful one at that.

You know when you read about the first kiss and it catches your breath in your throat and steals your heart you know you have a book for the ages.
Ruxton is by far one of the best kissers I have ever read! He is all slight touches and gentle hands. He is all about the almost kiss. He leans in and there is spark and magic before his lips even touch. Rux is such an amazing character for a talented hockey player he lacks that little push to grab hold of what he wants. For his hockey game it took his best buddy Greg to push him forward and show him he can be the best. For his heart it is simply his sunshine, Cammy.
Cammy is the doing it all living her best life single mom. She is juggling her job, her sweet boy Matty, and the fact that after 7 years Matty’s dad is back in Chicago. Cammy wants her life to appear as she is doing great on all fronts including her love life. The Blip of bad dates leads to a kiss from Rux that shatters their very established friendship routine and leads to some of the best, swooniest, romantic love I have read in a minute.
Rux and Cammy are so established in their long running friendship they haven’t realized that they truly love each other in more than the friendship way. That first kiss is a catalyst that leads to wonder woman undies and both opening to the possibility of an always.
The added conflict of Rux’s position on his hockey team, his self-doubts, and Matty’s dad lead to a phenomenal read. The bonus of very brief glances of the other members of the Chicago Slayers is total bonus points!

The added conflict of Rux’s position on his hockey team, his self-doubts, and Matty’s dad lead to a phenomenal read. The bonus of very brief glances of the other members of the Chicago Slayers is total bonus points!
I love Slayer’s hockey! I am a huge fan of these stories. You laugh, you get all the big feels and plenty of steam. Dirty Rebound is a 5/5 star for me. I loved every second of this story! I can’t wait to see what is next from Kelly.
